Zach Schiffman: I wanted to share with you our experience Saturday in your Boston store in hopes it can help your staff be better to their customers in the future.I’d never heard of State and Liberty, but always looking for new brands. I was in Boston for a wedding this past weekend with my girlfriend, and as someone who recently lost 40 pounds and feeling really confident in my appearance, I wanted a new fitted button down for the wedding on Sunday. We browsed Newbury street and I was caught by the mannequin outside with the "feel my fabric" sign on it. The advertising worked, we went in.Loving the style of the clothing, I was excited to try some shirts on. We picked out one to try, with the help of your team. The fit was a little tight but the associate geared us towards the other style which might fit better. It did, but unfortunately there was nothing in that size in white in stock. It was at that time I noticed my girlfriends demeanor had changed, and she wanted to leave and said we should keep looking elsewhere.Your staff gave me your card if I wanted to order anything for free shipping via the store. My full intention was to place an order when we got home.After we left, i asked my girlfriend why she rushed us out. It was then that she filled me in that while I was in the fitting room, the male associate was speaking to two female associates, not knowing my girlfriend was behind them waiting for me. They were discussing how they, and I quote "couldn't believe that someone like her was with someone like me"....and that "he is gross".This absolutely crushed her. And while I wish she never told me about this interaction, she did, and it hurt me to my core as someone who has tried so hard to change my body in the past 6 months, and have.I really hope you train your staff to be better than this. You operate a tiny store and voices travel...and for your staff to treat their customers this way while they are walking around the store is beyond disgusting. Had you been in the store that day, I would have went right back to pull you aside.I operate a small business myself, and would never in a 1000 years treat a customer of mine that way...no matter how I felt on the inside or out.

William helped me out at the Boston store & set me up with an order of 3 suits(black, heathered gray, & dark blue pin stripe). The delivery took just 4 days to get, shipped from Ann Arbor, MI. the suits are absolutely AMAZING! Best fitting & feeling suits that money can buy. I guess I can return my stiff & heavy wool suit that I bought at Men’s Warehouse. Definitely worth the money to buy a suit from S&L, no dry cleaning, no ironing. I pulled the suits straight out of the box & no wrinkles. They are truly amazing suits!

I love the custom suit I got from them.I went to almost every men's suit shop on Newbury Street and most places just wanted to sell me what they had, but State and Liberty listened to me and sold me exactly what I wanted after showing me all the options of fabrics, patterns and styles.They also facilitate tailoring. When I went in for my final measurements, my suit was tailored within 24 hours. Every step along the way, they were ahead of schedule and exceeded my expectations. I'm going to shop there again.

Tiffany Chen: The most unfriendly return policy I've ever encountered in the U.S. I bought the shirt in the store a week ago, and I decided to return it because the fit is a little weird. I head to the store on my way home from work, so I didn't have the receipt with me. I thought it would be ok since I have my bank statement that shows the address of the store where the purchase was made, and the tag is still on the shirt. To my surprised, they said no. They explained that it's because they can't be sure that I bought the shirt at this particular location. You can't return things you bought at a different Uniqlo location??? That is absurd. I told them I have the bank statement with their store name and address on it. They still said no because I don't have the receipt. Uniqlo is not worth this hassle and wasting your money if you can't return it.
Frank Fretzel: The second-floor customer service was disappointing. I felt treated like a scammer when returning an item I bought recently. Despite providing the original receipt, I was told I needed the original hangtag, which was inconvenient. The frustration really came when the representative interrogated me about the item's condition, pointing out a faded color. When I explained it was already present when I purchased it, the representative called over colleagues to confirm if the item had been worn. I felt uncomfortable and doubted, as if they were gathering evidence against me for simply following their return policies. While I acknowledge the importance of adhering to company policies, the way the customer service representatives acted towards me made me feel upset and uncomfortable.

Where as other uniqlo’s have gone above and beyond and just printed a ticket for an item to be sold. Customers don’t matter in this industry apparently displayed by their managers Florence and Chloe.

Akzhan Muzdubayeva: I brought my husband’s winter jacket for the warranty repair in December 2022. I filled out the form, and was told that I will receive confirmation e-mail shortly. I didn’t take picture of the drop off form (my mistake but no one told me to do so either). It has been almost 6 weeks, and I don’t have any confirmation e-mail. Called the store multiple times and received the worst customer service. Their answer is basically we don’t see it at all in our warranty bin, so there is no record of me dropping it off (it’s a $400 jacket that had broke zipper!) I was told they can’t help me at all, and I need to deal with the customer service directly.Unpleasant customer service experience, I was told manager will call me back asap and never heard back from them. Very disappointed with the store and the way things have been handled. I will have to try their main customer service line and see if someone can help me there.

Walker Freeman: In 2023, The North Face is unable to process routine gift exchanges in store. The associate informed me he could either exchange the item for their limited in-store merchandise OR he could process a return whereby the funds would be returned to the individual you gave me the gift. There was literally no option to exchange the item for merchandise not carried in the store OR for store credit. I will also note that customer service for The North Face online referred me to the Newbury store for my gift exchange. Waste of time! Ridiculous! Likely the last time I will shop at The North Face.

Ojaswini Bakshi: Don't buy suits here if you need alterationWe wanted a suit and bought a set worth $920 dollars from Hugo Boss at Copley-Boston. They didn't have the pants in the size we needed so we tried another style. The pants of the correct size, they promised, would be shipped in. Both suit and pant needed alteration. We were supposed to pick it up after 1 week. We called and they said the tailor never delivered. We showed up the next day, again no show. We showed up the third day and we were made to go up to a third party tailor: who told us she got the suit the day before and needed some time. The measurements the Hugo Boss folks took were wrong. She needed to do some more work on the suit to fit it. We ended up spending 3.5 hours at the tailor's place. The pants that Hugo Boss gave her were also a size smaller. We had to travel on the last day and we had no choice but to take what we had.

Paul Gramazio: I needed a zipper repair on an old orange label hoodie I’ve had for years… a favorite! I saw all these reviews and thought they’re not gonna be interested in helping me… well I called, Dunsten was positive in attitude, I was already parked and thought, I’m going in. The man at the door greeted me with a more than friendly manner, helpful actually. He escorted me to the counter where Dunsten and he looked at my sweatshirt together… the doorman came up with an idea, Dunsten implemented it and voila, the hoodie is was repaired. No charge. I was quite happy I went, more happy my hoodie works again!
Crab Cakes: Someone greeted me as I started looking around but he seemed to have his hands tied. I heard so much chattering in the back wonder what that’s all about. Sales floor looked stacked but barely anyone in-store. They only carry the Boss division of Hugo boss.

A professional salesperson should contact the customers in advance if the store cannot meet the deadline. Otherwise, it is just a waste of time for the customers if they come to the store and hear the bad news.In addition, if you failed to contact the customers. You should admit that this is a fault and apologize. Do not tell the customers "I cannot do anything", just say "sorry". People should be ready to take responsibility but not excuses.

Kameron Kalmar: Have been an avid Filson fan for many years, sending family and friends their way providing a lot of business. Slowly loosing faith in this great brand by the loss of American made quality. Paying top dollar for goods made in Bangladesh and Vietnam for a target audience of Hipsters and trend setters that don’t stack up to the vintage Filson heirloom quality we all grew to love. I still Duck hunt in my grandfathers Filson jacket from the 60s. Something the new Asian made clothes could never do. And the cherry on top is when it is an American made good they jack the price sky high. I try to put my money in an Americans pocket before anyone else, a sentiment I believe the old Filson believed in as well. Hopefully there is a management change or a new direction fast because the Filson loyal are taking there money elsewhere.

William Cooper: cool store, only 10 of this domestically. Very pricey, but you can tell they value quality and American made.
Rod MacLellan: No many stores can culturally and practically bridge the gap between having rugged good looks and still maintain a look suitable and updated for urbane wear.Filson is as hip in a Back Bay winter as it is in the Allagash.

I didn't ask for a refund. I never cancelled my order.Filson took my money. Sat on it for 2 weeks and then canceled my order with no explanation.I tried calling numerous times only to sit on hold for 20 minutes a time. I have a job and don't have time to sit on the phone. I sent multiple emails to their customer service and never heard back once,Save your money and save your time.It's all cheaply made, over priced Chinese junk anyway.

G F: Nice men's formal/dress wear. They had a variety of styles, colors, sizes, and fits to try on. Super friendly staff who were helpful but not pushy. Can't wait for my shirts to arrive.
Zachary Marcou: Yvan is a personable and professional sales associate; and was able to pick up on/tolerate my dry, deadpan humor and whimsical demeanor. Yvan educated me and my partner on several measurement/fitting intricacies, and helped me find a wedding outfit that fits my disproportionate body(!) I would hire Yvan in a heartbeat—thank you for your amazing customer service!

Jakehana1596: I had to get a suit delivered to this location and I couldn't pick it up until the day before the wedding I was going to, and Moises was wonderful in assisting me. He offered me something to drink when I arrived, he steamed the suit while I tried on some other items, and even directed me to a local tailor that they work with to get the pants hemmed! He was very polite and personable and I'm glad I picked my suit up here. The tailor was also very quick and efficient, Daniel over at Raymond Personal Tailor got me in and out within 20 min.
Rob Whitten: Made an appointment. Drove 30 min into Boston. Paid $20 to park in Seaport. Spent 45 min finding the right suit. Drove home and waited. Got delayed for weeks so I couldn’t wear it for the event I bought it for. They just shipped the pants. They canceled the jacket. Why the heck would I want $200 suit pants without the matching jacket?
Quyen “Q” Nguyen: Caroline was awesome! She helped me from A to Z and listened to every concerns I had. Being a skinny 5'2" dude never had I put on an adult shirt that fits me perfectly w/o tailoring before I came to this store. The whole experience was just wonderful! They may not have every design you see online but it is worth visiting to just try things out and receive advice. Now that I found my favorite store I will definitely come back!
Anna Mengdan Dai: Cute stuff but customer service left a lot to be desired. Employee ignored us entirely and didn't even offer to help. There were very few styles / sizes / colors and only single items on the floor so we were super confused how to shop here? Maybe it's a pop up and typically an online store? Did not seem conducive to getting customers to actually buy anything in store.

Evan Moulson: Bonobos sells things (almost) exclusively online, but their guideshops let you try on something before you order it, return something without having to go through a cumbersome online process, and just browse through their excellent selection of clothes. I've never had a bad experience at one, and this was no different: the "ninja" who helped me out was totally understanding of the fact that I had neglected to get a well fitting warm weather suit two days before a wedding (😬) and helped me find something within my price range that looks fantastic. It arrived today, with plenty of time to spare.
