From my teenage years at Victoria's Secret to pandemic online shopping, bra shopping has always been horrible (small band, large cups)All that changed the moment I started even just emailing with Bernadette about what I was looking for. She didn't ask so many questions as to make me completely overwhelmed, but enough so that when I arrived for my fitting appointment, she had the potential bras out and ready for me to try on. Not only was the process painless, but so are the bras I walked out with.I loved my experience so much that I went back the next week with a friend who has also learned that bra shopping can actually be fun. Thank you, thank you, Bernadette!

I tried on a few more that she recommended, but kept going back to the first one she picked out for me. How on earth could I have spent all my life trying on ill fitted bras while this bra fitter looked at me and instantly knew what I needed?! Amazing. You could only do that with years of experience. I'll definitely be back.Also, I'm not sure why a reviewer mentioned that the store only had outdated bras.... I'm in my twenties and there were SO many cute, chic bras to choose from!

I travelled 45 minutes and arrived early, finding that the store was closed with no notice. I contacted the Mashpee location and the person who answered attempted to contact the clerk or manager of the Boston store. Half an hour after my originally scheduled appointment, the manager of the Mashpee store called me and said that the manager of the Boston store was not working that day and that the store wasn't opening until an hour and a half after my scheduled appointment. I have received no communication from the store to offer an apology or an attempt to reschedule in the two weeks since this occurred.

Ashley Kelly: Maddie (Maddy? not sure which) was super nice and helpful in helping me get my size and finding good bras. I haven't gotten measured in years and was kind of embarrassed about it, but I didn't feel embarrassed at all after getting measured here. It's definitely pricey so I don't think I can come back here all the time on my budget, but when I have some money to spend I'll definitely be coming back.
Avi: Stopped in after work for bra sizing and the staff were able to help me immediately. Sky was super non-judgmental and kind, and figured out my size pretty quick. The changing room was lovely (there is a cover up you can wear to feel comfortable, and lots of body positivity signage which I appreciate). I found a great bra (literally the most comfortable I've ever worn- and it actually fits!) and the experience was incredibly positive. I will be back.

Leah Timpson: I came here for a long time, as the people working are always incredible and they have some really gorgeous pieces. However, it was only when I went to a different store that I realized that they had sized me wrong multiple times. When I went to Forty Winks to get resized, I knew the bra I was wearing was too big and told the sales associate that, but their fit solution was to size me up in the band. I almost purchased 2 expensive bras that were incorrectly fitted. The fit issues I came into the store to solve were a result of me needing a smaller band and larger cup, and that was very easy to figure out once my band was actually measured with a measuring tape. The sales associates here are really wonderful, which is why I'm still giving 3 stars, but I just think they were probably trained incorrectly. I really hope that Forty Winks eventually learns how to correctly size people, and especially how to size people with larger cup sizes. One of their main selling points is inclusivity, but I think anyone larger than a DD would be outside of the store's knowledge base. Great place for smaller-busted people though!!

Aurora quickly provided me with a variety of options, consulted me on fits for the designs I liked, and placed an order for a different color in one of the bras I loved but needed in a nude.This will be my go-to local lingerie store for the rest of my time in Cambridge/Boston!

Mariam Yak: I’m from the South Shore and drove all the way to Cambridge specifically to visit this store. It did not disappoint! I came in looking for an everyday bra and some wedding lingerie. Sophia was super attentive, helpful and friendly! She fit me properly and selected several bras for me to try on. Overall she made the experience enjoyable and easy. The prices are up there but the store carries high-end good bra brands (Chantelle, Natori, etc) so it is worth the experience plus the helpfulness of the staff. The store itself was super clean and everyone was very nice and attentive. Will definitely come back next time!

Lindsey Stepanishen: Worst experience ever!!! I came into the shop this past Saturday, February 19th. I've shopped only at Forty Winks religiously over the past 2+ years. I had a TERRIBLE experience on Saturday. The cashier (short, blonde curly hair) was incredibly rude. Firstly, a customer came in and she immediately yelled "your fine, just shut the door already" ... I was appalled and almost walked out. Well I should have ... when it came time to checkout, she had the worst snarky little attitude. Mind you I was checking out and my total was $368. I backed away from the counter and pulled my mask down a little just to quickly unlock my iPhone with FaceID, well she SCREAMED at me "PUT YOUR MASK BACK ON OR GET OUT". I should have walked out then and there and never come back. But I desperately needed bras. She refused to give me her name. I will be returning all my items this week and not returning as the loyal customer I once was.

I came back March 2020 and was assisted by Molly, who was a gem. Super helpful and also really considerate of what I was looking for. The bras I’ve gotten from this place hold up really well - they choose quality brands and are meticulous about making sure whatever bra you choose fits you. Molly was very patient while assisting me and I could tell she really enjoyed her job and was knowledgable about the brands and bra fit. If you’re considering a place to find some bras, I highly highly rate forty winks. Plus, shopping local is always a good call!

Do not waste your time here, find another store.

Me Me: I didn't feel respected there. And would never go back again. The tanned African American girl( let's call Person A) is nice. But then a Caucasian female ( Person B) came (who is loud/angry pushy). I asked if they have some tights, she said not. The bad angry sales asked how do you like the leggings. I said the first one was alright and the second one is not comfortable. Then she raised her voice and said loudly: " Then I think we should get you out of this" 3 times in a super loud and rude voice. As I was going to the fitting room to get changed( Since the sales personB commended me to take the legging off) I was about to buy some other things and I stoped and went in the fitting room to take it off. The moment when I closed the curtain of the fitting room. Person laughed out loud. She was showing off how her speech made customer feel awkward to person A by speaking bad things about me. Then she lowered the voice because she probably realized that I can heard it. However, since the fitting room is next to their cashier desk. I heard everything. So I said I could hear everything while in the fitting room. After 1 minute, person A then raised the voice again, “ are you done”? (In a pushy and loud tone) I was still thinking whether I should buy the dress because the body part is nice and show the curves but the neck was too uncomfortable. The neck part was too tight. I have never met any sales in the Copley place who is so rude, pushy and disrespectful!!! While I was getting changed, the bad angry Caucasian female (Person B) was bad mouthing me to the other nice sales (person A) about me trying too long ( 6 mins - 8mins in total in the fitting room) and I could hear everything because the fitting room is next to the register desk. Then I walked to the nice one ( person A) and said I want to purchase some tights, but they don't have the color. I ended up didn't purchase anything instore. I will buy online instead. I was originally planing to buy tights. Since I am going to Europe in 2 weeks and European price is almost half of the price of American price. However, due to how rude and disrespectful the sale ( person B) I choose not to get anything from them. I definitely will never go to that store ( at Copley square 100 Huntington Ave) ever again! Horrible experience!!!!

Jenn: I visited this boutique in a group of three Asian twenty somethings, and felt very uncomfortable the entire time we were there. The owner and her friends were staring at us while my friend was in the fitting room trying items on (I looked back in her direction three times and every single time made eye contact with one of them staring at me), and when my friend left the fitting room, she accidentally turned the light off. Without hesitation, the owner snapped at her to leave the light on for the next customer. The whole time she didn’t offer to help us at all, and when we tried to place the items we didn’t want back on the rack, she immediately grabbed them from us. We said thank you to her for helping, and she didn’t respond. Checking out was a similar experience. Even though we bought an item, will never come back. Microaggressions are real and leave a horrible impression on customers. It’s not hard to do the bare minimum to be polite, and they missed the mark by a long shot.Edit: I want to be very clear— it is never, ever cute to be racist.

Yimin Xu: I love the all-inclusive concept. I came in wanting to try on a 36DDD/36F because I measured myself at home and that was what my math said I should be using. I’ve been sized by VS at 36DD, which was their highest cup size at the Pink store I was at. It’s a nice fit but I did still have a few concerns. I had been wearing 38D prior to that, at a tighter hook. Please remember that big cup sizes are ridiculously hard to find, I took what fit well enough.So I come into the store, ask to try the 36DDD. The older associate said she didn’t think I was a 36, and triple D. She takes me into the fitting room and measures me OVER a compression-type bra! (Light compression sports bra). I told her and she still did that! She simply measured very very loosely, and went, 38 like I thought. 38DD (note, sister size to the 36DDD I wanted to try). She brings me a couple, and when I asked about a style that doesn’t press on the stomach, she goes, everyone’s body is different, it’s your body (it’s not, girls, it’s a problem fixable through different cuts of that front triangle). Also, she insists the loose band riding up is perfectly sized.A younger associate, possibly a trainee, is very helpful and tries to answer my questions. Not a lot of answers though, why I think she’s new. She asks me what size I want, I tell her. The older associate comes back over, tells her to get the 38DDD. I’m actually surprised how well it fit, on the tightest hook. But the rudeness of the first associate and several pointed comments about the prices, pushing me to buy something I wasn’t fully happy with, really irritated me. I almost tried on a 36DDD I saw as I walked out, but decided not to give them my business. I deserve better than to be told I’m not the size I am (3836, you do the math). I think I know if the band is riding up, thank you very much. Who’s ever heard of buying a bra to wear on the tightest hooks from the beginning?! The trainee was at least trying. Hopefully she doesn’t learn any bad habits.
Lilly Lew: This is a horrible company no regard for customer satisfaction . Bras are horrible so is policy and customer service. Forced to keep merchandise I will not wear. One wash completely changes the fit. Have bras with tags and one day over return policy I am not allowed for even store credit. Asked for an exchange of bra that clearly does not fit me anymore and was denied. Had to wait for a phone call to central office only to be turned alway. So disappointing will never return and have nothing good to say about this place.

Brianna Durand: Worst experience and customer service. If I could give 0 stars I would. Would not recommend going to that store. When I had an issue and made a phone call they hung up on me. Did not provide a solution to my problem. Employees are rude.

Vule Jankovic: The most rudest workers , especially black girl with the afro,closed the register in front my nose while I was waiting for 15 min, while she was checking other customers. If management hires this kind of people, or doesn't train them that says a lot about the whole store. Worst store ever , should be closed.
Luisa Gomes: Ok, I had a beach trip planned and I got a cute swimsuit. Nevertheless, the clerk didn't remove the security tag from the bottom piece and I only noticed it on the day of the trip. Since I didn't have a backup, I couldn't swim. I was forced to return to the store to get the tag removed and I didn't receive a proper apology for the inconvenience. It's really sad since the swimsuit is cute.Advice: before leaving the store, check if they didn't keep the security tag

Elena Ahmed: I spend so much money at this store since probably the day it opened over 15 years ago. For the last couple of years the customer service at this store has been nothing but terrible. I never had to return anything until I purchased an order online which customer service told me to go into the store and return since the size was wrong. I went in today to the CambridgeSide Galleria store and again had a very unpleasant experience with the same associate I believe his name is Carlos the only gentlemen that it seems to work there. I simply wanted to return two items and go about my day. He finished the customer in front of me and didn’t even acknowledge that I was standing for a good 5 minutes, didn’t even bother to greet me just looked at Me I guess that meant he was ready for the next person. Instead of asking politely he literally raised his voice with so much anger and said give me a good reason why you are returning? I have never been treated like this in any other stores. Another day when I was in the store purchasing an item and I had a E-gift card that someone gifted me. Apparently according Mr. Carlos this store does not accept E-gift cards. Which is interesting because I have purchased at this store with a e gift card in the past. Mr. Carlos walked over and looked and me and spoke in Spanish with the associate and told her not to accept it. I understand Spanish even though I am not Hispanic. I don’t know what his problem is but it seems he is not a fond of people of my culture or religion yes I had a scarf on my head. I would really appreciate it if someone or management could review this email and actually speak to the associate of his unethical behavior he has towards loyal customers. Honestly it is not nice to walk to a store where you are not welcome and be treated differently just because so am brown and the women in front of me was clearly Caucasian and he treated her perfectly fine.
