Tina Marie: Alyssa, was my stylist, a full foil, cut and dry. She did an amazing job. Detailed oriented, polite and accommodating. Ms. B, was overseeing, her input was spot on, she truly knows the what’s and why’s. It is refreshing to see someone instruct, encourage, and give praise when praise is due. Thumbs up all the way.

Maria Xhalia: Honestly if I could I would give this school 0, it is not as great as they make it seem… My story behind this is I attending New England hair academy and it was cut short I had to transfer schools due to students threatening me. Students here are very childish discarding there age. They are super disrespectful and threatening has been a problem in the school before my situation. I had to go to court for a restraining order and the school did not take any actions, after I begged for help from them. I was concerned for my safety at this school and all the school wanted to do was have a talk with all the girls instead of taking action to making their school a safe environment for all students. This school is all about taking students money they don’t care about their students safety. I really hope this school gets their stuff together because no one should ever feel like if they leave the building they could end up in the icu and the school not helping in any away to help prevent you from getting physically assaulted. For anyone that wants to attend this school I advise you to do more research there are amazing schools out there I promise I’m so happy at the school that I am at right now because they actually care about my safety and don’t let students run the school going around threatening teachers and students. Pearl Thomas: Those students are graduating soon and don't need to be. White girls attending that school does not no how to African Americans black hair. All them black girls in there and they give a white girl who allow a 15 minutes relaxer in my hair which didn't do nothing for me. I was so disappointed paying my $35.00 for what. I look the same as I did when I came out. Bad place of business for black women. I will never, ever go back there or refer anyone. Terrible, terrible hair do. Anyone who knows African Americans Hair takes longer to do than 15 minutes on hard coarse hair. I waste my $35.00 , but I guess you get what your money paid for. They should have not charge me a dime.
Tom Huynh: I needed a haircut quick before a flight and this was the only place open. I knew what I was getting into. It’s a school. They’re still students. It’s not meant to be perfect. My expectation was low but they still managed to disappoint. I supposedly got a student named Jacob that was graduating and he operated like he couldn’t give less of a care about his job. This guy spun me around so many times instead of going around me so I can see what he was doing. That just screams laziness on his part. He was incredibly rough it felt like I’ve gotten cut in the back of my neck. Pretty sure he thought he was cutting a mannequin. The haircut was literally the worst cut I have ever had in my life. At some point I even told him “dude stop cutting you’re making it worse.” They either need better training or this kid needs to spend some more time in school.No matter how desperate you are for a cut, please don’t come here.

Gracie Grace: i graduated from new england hair academy in 2020, quite a tumultuous, unprecedented time in the world, but new england hair academy did exactly what they promised me when i signed up, which was to get the hours and education needed to go on to the state board exam. i am now a licensed cosmetologist working on newbury street, and i will always say one of the best decisions i ever made was going to school here. i loved the staff, especially ms. nagat!! thank you for helping me start my career!!

Anthony Cassesse: Made an appointment for my elderly mother to have her hair cut at 1pm today for a 5:30pm appointment. Arrived at 5:15 and was told to please wait outside due to covid 19 protocol. Then after waiting outside for 35 minutes the woman said there was no appointment made for my mother. I know for sure it was to be for today. Actually I had to call twice because the phone number is answered by another area and I had to be given another number to call. I always recite the time and day when making an appointment. My 85 year old mother was so upset and not to mention why we were unable to have her hair cut. Very unprofessional. If considering going here, I suggest you think about going somewhere else where they have their act together.
Truth: Bring friend over. She want to dye her hair to coffee color. The student took a black dye. My friend said she doesn’t want black yet the student still make it black. Told her it won’t turn black and afterwards it was absolutely black. She complained and they just claim “they are just students”. By using the term “student” as an excuse they don’t care about their sloppy job and not taking any responsibility for it. Anybody with common sense will at least apologize, but the staffs here are so horrible they can’t even give a proper apology. The service here is absolutely horrible.

Merry Rejouis: This place is very segregated seems like the Blacks are on one end with a black instructor and the Asians are with a separate instructor. There’s no products for black clients and the people are rude . The Asians instructor follows you to the restrooms , She stares at you while you’re getting your hair done through the mirror from the other end of the room. Felt very uncomfortable! She’ll leave her side to come to behind the student that was doing my hair just very weird Energy . The student was very professional, gentle, caring made sure I was comfortable after telling her I felt uncomfortable. The minute I walked in the school the Asian were not welcoming at all. The products are not for black people with textured hair . 5 star to the student an work I hope & pray she hurry up an graduate from this school because this school is not it.

Carlo Lee: If you need to take the massage program , be prepared with some self defense tools like pepper spray in case someone suddenly get mad and put you into unsafe situations! Because some one in the class is very easy to get mad and stubborn.

Esther Teresinski: First time here and couldn’t recommend more. Molly made sure everything was perfect and consistently checked to make sure she was rolling the rods correctly (I made her do a perm). She was also super friendly the entire time and didn’t chase me out even though I was the last one there!
HisTravelStories: Customer service is bad, previously I was able to book appointments on call and then get there by that time.When I called today, they said that’s stopped now and I can do walk-in till 7pm.I travel all the way after work and then they say they can’t do anything today and asked me to come again tomorrow and check.They could have just told me the same thing on phone, instead of asking me to come and check, or when I reach in person they could have booked a fixed slot for tomorrow.It just felt weird and bad.

Jess Margaret: Molly Ranney, Definitely the stylist to visit at empire in Boston before she graduates.Molly even just starting out seemed like she’s been behind the chair for years she was kind talented & most important she listened to what I wanted in a hair cut specifically in the length removed & stuck with exactly i was asking for I was more then satisfied & hope to find her one day working on Nantucket but until then I look forward to going back before she graduates for hopefully some color but definitely worth it & just a great experience overall.

So I asked a friend what they thought about the school she said they were amazing she got her license and she is very highly successful. So I decided to applied and got called the following day and made my appointment. Now not only when I went to my appointment for a tour but at the front desk the young ladies were so polite everyone was very welcoming and motivated and beyond talented I knew this was the school for me to help me exceed beyond expectations of beauty.I start Monday at the Empire Beauty School Malden, Ma. I’m excited to start my path to my career.

From Miss Krystine inspiring me to challenge myself with lash sets, to Miss Lisa challenging my to step out of my comfort zone with hair and Most of all my director Miss Daigle for always being so positive and supporting throughout this journey! Here’s something I did the other day that I couldn’t have done without the education I got here at Empire in Malden!
Shelly Andrews: I reached out to Amanda about my rapidly graying hair and asked how we could transition without trying to dye the dark all the way to gray.She had a great plan for highlights to blend the gray and give it time to grow naturally without drastic bleaching of the rest of my hair.She was very patient (I have a lot of hair) and precise. She picked a great tone that compliments my skin tone and eyes.My hair is bangin' in Zoom calls now. (I apologize to Gen Z for the gross misuse of their slang by Gen X)I get so many compliments on the color. Everyone continuously tells me that I have an EXCELLENT colorist and I should never let her go!(Please excuse the frizz in the "After" pics... we weren't quite dry yet... and curls... iykyk)Thank you, Amanda!

I was honestly a bit nervous about going to a beauty school over a more established salon bc I’ve had poor experiences in the past, but financially this was definitely the right move for me and Amanda’s performance alleviated all of my concerns! My hair looks great, all the staff were incredibly kind (I even accidentally went to the wrong location making me nearly half an hour late!) and accommodating of everything I wanted! Would 10/10 recommend!

Sara did an excellent job with listening to wanted and being transparent about the process. I commend both teachers Miss.Christine and Miss.Lisa for observing and guiding their student throughout the entire process. From start to finish I felt listened to and taken care of. They also listened to my concerns about hair damage and maintenance. Both concerns were addressed and my hair feels good and looks good (and will look good as it grows out!) Overall they were professional, collaborative and kind. I would recommend the services of Empire without a doubt! Thank you again to all that helped my vision come to life!!

Amanda Small: The best hair experience I have ever had! I dont do much for my hair and was looking for options to revive my overgrown, frizzy, dull hair. Aleena, Aliyah, and Ms. Lisa were all so welcoming, informative, and gave me a lovely cut, layer, and highlights! It was also nice to work with students who were so motivated, attentive, kind, and active listeners. I really appreciated their emphasis on client education regarding how to maintain my hair at home and i feel well prepared to do that. I learned more at this single hair appointment than I have at all the hair appointments ive been to in my life! My hair came out absolutely stunning for such a reasonable cost! I highly recommend this salon and will absolutely be back! Best of luck to both Aleena and Aliyah with your exciting new careers - you are going to have many very happy clients like myself! 😊

Cindy Lopez: My experience at empire started amazingly from the beginning I was super excited and the admissions rep was very helpful and accommodating however when I started the classes I found myself struggling to learn due to my teacher being lazy or not teaching she shows no concern towards the students or our education . Frequently giving us coloring sheets or putting on movies when I want to learn it’s very frustrating and I want the proper education I paid for to be worth it especially since my parents are paying for this
