Krit was an amazing teacher, very patient and thorough with his explanations and demonstrations. The entire staff was very friendly, welcoming, and willing to help. The spa is gorgeous inside and instills a sense of calm right away. Intensive is a great descriptor, my body was beat by Tuesday night but my brain was full and I feel more and more confident in my skills each time I go through the routine. Tania Fabo: This review is based on the experience of my sister who had an absolutely horrible experience. They treat black people especially poorly over here. Manager is quite rude and definitely needs to practice his customer service skills. Front desk employee needs to stop stereotyping black women (look at the racist response they wrote below to her review, stereotyping her as yelling and aggressive when she was in fact speaking very calmly). All she wanted was a massage and instead she got treated like she was nothing.
Stacey Fabo: Do not come here at all but especially if you value your money. These people did not communicate their policies to us at all, and turned us away when we came when they said we could come. BUT mind you still charged us $320 for a service we never received. Manager of the locations was incredibly rude and walked away from us midsentence as we tried to explain our situation . Then quite literally told us to quiet down as we asked if we could sit down and speak to him. Please listen to me bc I would give 0 stars if I could. Also incredibly racist treatment.
nunya beeswax: Absolutely loved my visit. Was visiting from out of town. I hadn't been to a massage in months cuz I was seeing a chiro and an ortho after a car accident 6 months ago. That massage made me feel better than all the visits to the chiro. I've never been a huge chiro adjustment believer anyway, this massage was Exactly what I needed. Wish they were closer to home, I'd be a regular. I'm coming back next time I'm in Boston. ❤️

Tania Harsono: I had a 90 min Thai massage with Jeff, he did a great job! All my muscles were sore + tender from climbing and the pressure/ stretches/ adjustments he did were expertly applied. Receptionist was friendly, she offered tea & water, and gave me my intake form (which Jeff read very carefully and asked me specific questions about before we got started). Pricey but not out of line with other Back Bay spas.
Caroline Howerton: What a joke. I booked a massage there at 7pm (was in town for work). I arrived early as instructed (around 6:50). Barely greeted by the receptionist (who clearly didnt know how to set the mood for a spa experience), i then waited as my therapist was running late. At 7:15 she finally came out and I went into the therapy room, but I had to wait some more on the table.She gave me every impression that I was disturbing her and didnt care at all about my experience (talked loud, complained about her day, didnt ask me the usual pre massage chit chat…)THEN (wait for it) as I was face down on the massage table, i heard her say casually “oh by the way im gonna be using gloves today because i cut my finger cutting vegetables”I mean sure that sounds painful and I felt sorry but massage with platic gloves, really?! Especially without giving me any options - they should have given me a heads up upfront, as well as offer a discount.As I was already there, it proceeded, and I had the massage with her wearing plastic gloves, which obviously wasnt great. I asked her if it was painful and if she was ok and she said it was totally fine and she didnt feel the cut at all…They did extend the slot to make up for the delay (I came out about 8:10) but I was asked to pay full price…Anyhow - the lack of expectations management was obvious, the massage was mediocre, but above all, the style, vibe and delivery from the employees were really not that of a spa in my opinion. I will definitely NOT be coming back.
Khwlah Almutair: The 60min message and the body scrubbing I had was good. I payed $214 for the service after discount which is fine. The guy at the register ruined my experience. He asked for %25 tip which means more than $50! I payed for tip $26 and the guy was not satisfied and not welcoming. Also, I asked for a receipt and he said we don’t give a receipt for a cash payer!!! (He gave it to me after I insisted) Will never come back again.

It smelled great, all the staff were nice, everything was clean, and the massage/masseuse were fantastic.Had to knock two while stars for pricing, one for not advertising it and the other for it being obscenely high. Costs can't be found online and I'm still in shock by the $172 I had to pay for a 90 minute session, BEFORE the tip and AFTER a 20% new customer discount. That's $50 more than other places around here and something I'd have checked had I been less trusting or less in need of the therapy while on travel.I'd love to say I'll be back but there's no way.

Esther: massage was good, but like other reviews say, double check what they charge you. they give you 20% off your first massage, and I tipped 20% off of the amount that they charged me (which was 20% off the price!). looked at the charge a day later and saw that they charged me 20% of the original? shady given the fact that the massage is pricey (around $200) already
Hannah Mrozak: I had purchased a gift certificate for my daughter for Christmas and I was ensured that she would be able to use the 20% off that was been offered at that time that I purchased the gift certificate. When she went in for her massage she was told that because she had been there before they would not honor the 20%. When I called and spoke with the manager he would not take care of the situation I explained that I was told by an employee that they would get the 20%. Very poor communication and customer service would not recommend!
Stephanie: This place is excellent when it comes to massage - the masseuses are very attentive and thorough! They really focus on the areas in which you ask them too. The massage experience is a 10/10.The only reason I don’t give it 5 stars is because they don’t have very much transparency in their pricing. When you’re paying such a high price there should be 100% upfront transparency in the cost. There was a discrepancy in the price I was asked to pay and what was stated on their sheet. It took some time to eventually get the issue resolved but these sort of things should be very clear from the beginning at such a high end establishment.

Zachary Melanson: My body has felt knotted and like I’m leaning to one side for years after having rotator cuff surgery. I’ve ended up going to several physical therapists and a chiropractor as well as had laser treatment, cortisone shots, and a PRP injection but in my opinion the Thai sports massage I received today has done the most to help resolve my issue. I could feel my therapist kneading out knots in my back,arms,legs, neck, temple and fingers. It felt like she could feel the same muscular imbalances/knots I’ve tried to explain to so many doctors and physical therapists only for them to look at me like I’m insane. One way I might describe it is I feel like my body has been twisted like a spring causing me to twist/lean/favor one side and my massage today was able to start unwinding the spring that is my body. It was everything I originally thought a chiropractor would do for me.

I've been going to a chiropractor for years, but after one tension relief massage (neck, back, shoulders) I had almost full mobility in my neck again. Jomie is a lifesaver! She is super talented, and offers a wide variety of styles of massages from more relaxing styles, to digging into those knots in your neck, shoulders. It's a one person business, great location in an office building, the room is super cozy and relaxing.

Will go back again.Second visit: I wanted to do 90 minutes the first time, but she only had an hour. This time I wanted at least 90 minutes. When I asked her if 2 hours was too long, she said no if you really want to relax. During the 2 hours, she did some elongation exercises, which helped enhance my muscle range of movement. This was yesterday, today I feel the best that I have felt in years. Don’t take my word, go find out for yourself.

alejandro romero: This is my FIRST review i've ever given for any service or product i've ever paid for anywhere. I've tried many massages and none of them have given me any relief before like they do here. A friend of mine told me to look into a "Thai Massage" and so I found PhoRaya in my area but, In reality I found Yuri (one of the massage therapists.) I've had a couple surgeries within the last 1.5 years to my left achilles and right shoulder... I also started working in the beginning of this month as a full-time driver and my back has been killing me. I've also been dealing with knee tendinitis for years and my new job wasn't helping with that issue either.WITHIN 2-3 days of my first 60-min session, my knee pain was almost non-existent. Yuri has helped loosen up my entire body which was extremely tight and has found plenty of knots to help get rid of. If you're in chronic pain, I highly recommend you see her. She's just been a miracle for me. She's also got a sense of humor. With her, i've nearly cried in pain (good pain) and cried in laughter. Yuri is just great at what she does. She also gives me tips to help treat myself at home. She truly cares about her clients. Im two sessions in and I have ZERO doubt that she will continue to improve the health of my body. I try to see her once a week and my third session with her is coming this weekend.

I love that they care to also create a relaxing atmosphere beyond the massage itself.The reason for the one star lost is that I don't think they always stick to the timing that you pay for. Most spas and massage places I've visited are careful about ensuring that you get a full hour or a full 30 minutes if that's what you book. I really wish that they would be a little more diligent in making sure they're giving clients the full time. I've had probably about 5-10 minutes shaved off of my massage time due to attending to other clients or transitioning from one service to another (which, if you're doing a 30 minute massage, is a significant chunk of time). I find it off-putting and hope they'll make some changes to this.

Marisa Lally: I got a massage with Emma at Phoraya Spa. It was definitely one of my favorite massage experiences I have ever had. I really enjoyed the combination of Thai-style stretching and more Western style massage (I chose the Phoraya massage option). She also asked me what I wanted to focus on, which I made my experience even better.The spa itself is quiet and very clean. They had hand sanitizer at the door and all of the staff were still wearing masks, which personally made me feel comfortable. The rooms feel private and I enjoyed the calming music that they played during my massage. They also gave me a bottle of water after my massage which I thought was very thoughtful.I was able to find street parking, but I will note that it is on a busy street if you plan to drive. I would definitely recommend PhoRaya Thai Spa!

All yesterday evening and today I have pain that feels like a damaged disc and I am worried about permanent damage. Be very careful that your masseuse stays away from your spine.
Maggie C: I had a massage from a therapist, Zhenjie. He found all my knots and I left feeling amazing. I was excited to find this place as I live down the street and I get a massage every 3 weeks. I thought I would be a regular customer.However, I booked a couples massage 3 weeks later and it was beyond terrible. I didn't get their names but they were two women. I asked for deep tissue and they walked on us and it was extremely painful. My partner is still in pain when he walks. My entire left leg was numb and tingling after she was done walking on it and this is when I involuntarily cried out in pain.Then she went onto quick and vigorous rubbing of my SPINE. I had to ask her to stop rubbing it when I heard each of my vertebrae make a noise as she ran her elbow directly down my spine. She didnt stop, and today I am visibly bruised and in so much pain. My partner is also complaining of pain in his spine.She focused 70% on my left side and 30% on my right side which I did not ask for.I love a deep and painful massage but this was painful in all the wrong ways. She didn't find my knots, just a lot of bone. Shaohua Lu: Three of us made an appointment for one hour of service. One of my friend waited almost 20 minutes to have someone take care of her. But she managed to have her one hour done. Me and my GF only received 47 minutes of service because we used their bathroom and I guess that was considered as part of the massage.I tipped 15% for the girls who massaged us for 47 minutes and 20% for the one who complete an hour of massage.Why I know the time so well? Cause I looked at my phone before I put it away. if anything, our time is even shorter.One star off for the incomplete massage time that we paid for and another one off due to rude front desk, as soon as she realized I am not tipping the other two girls 20%, she confronted me and won’t greet us on our way out.If you are wondering how the massage went, it’s above average.

This was the best massage I have ever gotten. She worked out parts of my body I didn't even know hurt. It was an awesome experience and will come back again if I'm ever in the area. Do not hesitate to come here. The people were also very nice and had simple refreshments in the waiting area. Very clean place as well. Do yourself a favor and call and schedule an appt.

Eddies: You can go into Chinatown and spend $60-70 for a one hour glorified back rub or you can spend a bit more and come here for the real deal. Walk on back, deep tissue and wrap up with some Thai stretching. Outstanding. and just what I needed.They offer a variety of styles including Traditional Thai (more stretching), deep tissue, and sports massage.

I’m moving to NY and went for a massage to relieve myself of moving stress. I also had a couple of tight spots from pole dancing, including stiff arms. I saw Mo. She was amazing. Everything was so professional and the communication was great. I got a combo of deep tissue and hot stones. Mo also used her feet and stretched my body and checked with me often about the pressure. The hot stones and towels were such a treat. My body feels loose and amazing. I would definitely come again when I’m in Boston.

Overall experience was not bad, but I am giving 3 starts only because i requested appointment for reflexology and back massage ( 30 min each). I confirmed it while checking in and before starting the massage. Still I was given full body massage. Massage therapist was good and offered apology but I was bit disappointed. Hoping this will not happen to any other client going forward.

Don’t get me wrong, it was relaxing but on the website it does say extraction which ended up being done by the technicians knuckles (never had that done before and it was quite painful) and it says there would be a high frequency which I assumed was something along the lines of a NuFace. Nothing was used there. Just a lot of oil that ended up breaking me out today. I have white heads everywhere and my skin honestly feels gross. I hate leaving negative reviews but if you’re looking for a good facial to clean out your skin, this isn’t it.

Nicolasa Lopez: Had an amazing massage, for six week I was receiving physical therapy due to neck and shoulder pain that didn't allowed me to sleep. I went and got one, only one deep tissue massage and the pain dissappear like magic. That night after the massage slept throughout the night until 9am the next day. Though from time to time it gets a little uncomfortable I haven't experienced the same level of pain. To the point I didn't go back to pt. I am planning to make this a once a month ritual!

The massage did have a decent amount of pressure but I think my back needed it and I was asked if the pressure was okay many times which was very sweet. Overall I would return.

Adam “Addohm”: The massage my wife and I had was good. Getting pressured for bigger tips than we gave though is not something I'm going to tolerate. Couples massage is now $150 for 1 hour. The last time we were here it was $120. Where are those added costs going? I won't shoulder the added cost of a larger tip on an already expensive service. I'm sorry to the women that gave us the massage.By the way, it's 900 baht for a Thai massage in Thailand and tipping is not a part of the culture. I can get six massages that are just as good, if not better, for the same price as what you charge, before considering tips at all. Won't be coming back ever again, sad to say.
