giana spring: I would not recommend this place to get a passport. The lady did not sign a necessary part of my application which resulted in my application getting extremely delayed and denied. I had to go to the office and re do my entire application due to the fault of this worker. i was supposed to go abroad in March, and I still do not have my passport. I paid nearly $200 to expedite it at the time. The lady I went to when I had to go re-do the application was extremely helpful, nice and apologetic, but the first experience was absolutely unacceptable.
Daulton Templet: Processed my passport application here very smoothly. The clerk was very knowledgeable, understanding, and a great person. She was able to clarify all of my concerns and assured me that my passport would go through in plenty of time. This post office deserves a much higher rating!

She doesn’t want to answer questions, she talks behind your back to her colleagues and ridicule you in front of other customers. STAY AWAY FROM THIS LOCATION. Please find another location where they treat you with dignity and respect . USPS shouldn’t employ people like her to be the face of their offices . It will drive more people away from seeking your services.

뿅뿅: just had the worst USPS experience of my life. black woman with glasses and with braids going horizontal on the back of her head and industrial piercing continuously glared at me and was very rude when all i wanted was to ship a package off. i never had such a bad experience and she was extremely disrespectful. i can’t imagine how she is to other people and why she works there if she is not going to at least somewhat nice. don’t know if it kills to be nice but i guess it does with her. train your employees or fire her if you want people to have a somewhat of a non disrespectful experience for a simple matter.

She should never be able to talk to customers like that so rudely, and shouldn’t work there if she can’t have a respectful attitude. I’ve had such a bad experience, I will not be coming back.

Adrienne G: Very rude staff! Zero customer service. Zero eye contact, snobby, elitist behavior! While being super friendly to other patrons as we could hear it while at the tables! Barking orders regarding where to submit a piece of mail by trying to send me to the drop box instead of kindly doing their job of taking it at the counter with an ounce of friendliness! Made us feel unwelcomed there! SHAME.

Robin Rotman: Usually I try not to write reviews targeted at an individual employee, but she's just so unpleasant. I had the same experience as Pitchakorn Niruntasukrat and I know we're talking about the same woman. Many of us are just selling are used clothes and such. There is a counter for us to drop things off - whether we drop them off or you yell at us to stay in line to ask the questions - it's the same outcome that the item will be shipped. If we want insurance or stamps or for some reason we need to tell you there's lithium batteries in our package of clothing - we'll let you know and will stay in line. I know you are doing your job and think you are being thorough, but you are very rude. Please consider a process change like the USPS on milk street to let us drop off our packages if we've done the effort of properly packing and printing our labels at home.
Pitchakorn: I went to this USPS on Dec 4,2017 at around 9.00am. The female employee was so rude and unhelpful at all. I suggest you to go to USPS at 31 Milk St Lbby, Boston, MA 02109 instead. That usps got low reviews, but trust me it's better than this usps.

M P: There’s consistently just 1 person working behind the counter, no matter what time of day I go. And as a result, there’s a line of between 5-15 people waiting to be served, which is not an exaggeration. Meanwhile there’s 4-5 employees sitting around in the back, chatting about how they have “so much to do today, it’s crazy”.. all while doing nothing. Most of the time I’m coming in with a QR code, which I can’t even self-scan so I don’t have to deal with this circus. Avoid this location if you can.
NAOKI KOJIMA: They are not friendly at all. I got the same delivery problems 3 times in just 2 months.

Erin O'Neill: What a traumatizing experience! This was the most inappropriately I’ve ever been treated. I made an appointment online for a passport as my last passport was issued when I was a minor and was expiring. I had originally made an appointment at the Massachusetts Ave location, but they called and said they were understaffed and cancelled my appointment. I commuted to Back Bay for the application process, bringing in the appropriate forms and other materials. The clerk working behind the desk complained that she’s worked here for 10 years. I cant believe people have accepted her mistreatment and disrespect for the past 10 years! We went to take the passport photo, and she asked me to put my hair behind my ears and not to smile, which I did. She then said to me, “Why are you still smiling? You have nothing to smile about.”What a sad world we live in.

Claire M: The worst experience when it comes to customer service, I went in during my lunch and only one person was talking people , when it eventually was my turn I handed over my letter that I was mailing overseas for Christmas, they said I needed to fill out a custom form which was weird for a card, she sent be back to the end of the line to fill it in. When I got to the window eventually again I had filled it out incorrectly, I asked for a new one and she told me I had to go back to the end of the line again which was now ten people in line. I said to her I can fill this out in ten seconds and that I needed to get back to work because by this time I was away for 30 ‘mins. She would not allow me to fill in the form quickly and said I will hold up the line. She was so rude, so I just left and ended up going to the post office as South Station they were so nice and helpful there and said I did not need a custom form. Was in and out of there in 5 mins. I did put in a formal complaint with USPS conceding this post office but I don’t know if that will make much of a difference. All I can say is stay away from this place !

Bruce Gotohell: As all businesses are nowadays, they are short-staffed, in general though, they provide prompt service; sometimes busy, usually around lunch time when office workers come in. The staff is always polite and friendly.

Maii Zikry: If I could give them a zero I would because of the woman who works there. The person who helped me via text was great. It was the people at the Backbay location that were awful. Specifically a woman named Nash. She was NOT listening or cooperating. I was there two days ago for the same reason and a gentleman went to see if I had any mail and I had 3 letters there. So I went today to follow up and see if I have more mail. She REFUSED to check even though I repeatedly told her that my mail is missing and somebody helped me the other day. I proceed to tell her it’s been THREE weeks and she said that I don’t necessarily get mail every day. So I told her that I have the daily digest and I know I have mail coming in. She was like it could take 10 days. I had to explain to her that my mail is going BACK to the sender. Instead of trying to HELP me she was aggressive and had something to say in regards to everything. She just kept repeating come tomorrow at 8 and talk to the carrier. Please note that the two times I talked to them previously I was told that our regular carrier was away. And if my name wasn’t on the mailbox then they won’t put the mail. I had to keep repeating my name is written on there. She simply was not listening or cooperating. She REFUSED to go look and see if I had mail and said that this wasn’t their job to go through the mail. Who’s is it then? If not the POST OFFICE! This was extremely unprofessional. Then I told her this is the first time this happens to me and she just said well welcome to Boston. How rude.
Julie Tolek: Probably the worst post office I’ve ever been to. No, wait. Second worst. Stood there for 17 min. I’m next in line. Two postal workers chatting and writing stuff. Not even an acknowledgement like hey give us a minute. I was on break from work and had to leave. There was a line forming behind me. It was like we didn’t exists. 4:21 pm 7/28/22. Based on other reviews, looks like nothing here has changed. And won’t change. Can’t blame the staffing shortage bc the other negative reviews are years old.

By the time I get to the register, the agent (MJ) was extremely rude, told me I was late for my appointment by 20 minute (while I showed up to the office 15 min early, but had to stand in line for 35 min) and she asked me to leave. Had to request for a manager in order to get my passport application proceed.Terrible and rude staff, avoid location!!

The older male staff informed me that my passport photo will be declined because my photo has my shoulders in it and that the photo should only show my face.So I paid the $15 extra to retake a new photo, but the new photo was almost the same exact thing! I believe I was scammed. I do not recommend renewing your passport here, and to look somewhere else.

Great why don’t you mention that when I booked ?So I hustle across to CVS to get some photos go back and stand in line again.30 minutes later I finally make it only to be told you filled on the form incorrectly so just move to the side. No you can’t stand here go right down towards the door.Ok so I completed the form and shahs by the desk. Woman yells wait over there. I wait my turn again and when the woman sees me I try to be nice and polite and apologies but she said stop talking I need to review the form. Questions later but hey write me a check for $200.I can’t begin to tell you how disgusted I am with not only the service but the sheer rudeness of the staff. I know their working environment is not great but maybe give a thought to the regular person who’s just trying to be nice and has just waited in a line for 45 minutes.Bottom line this place needs to be just shut down. It shouldn’t be allowed to operate with how their employees treat the public and the last thing they should be allowed to do is process peoples passports.

Peter C: Good service to customers but I am giving only 3 stars because the management does not respect their employees and there is poor communication. During the holidays employees don’t know that they are supposed to be getting paid overtime or that don’t have to show up to work. I was in the PO Box lobby which is open but the rest of the post office is closed. Ran into an employee just now who showed up to work and didn’t realize there was no work scheduled due to the holiday. Also checked the official USPS website and there’s no info about closed status or holiday hours. It’s sad that even the employees don’t know they’re closed. Management performance needs to be reviewed.
Jonetha Owens: I needed to send out an important mail and the only post office that was open after 8pm was 25 Dorchester Ave. It was my first time visiting this location. I must say what a "Wonderful Staff and welcoming" atmosphere. It was worth the 30 mins drive. The clerk (#50) that helped us was very patient and beyond helpful.
Allan Ramusiewicz: I live 10 minutes away and have been using the Boston GMF for 30+ YEARS and everything about it is SUPERB ! Open 365 days a year until MIDNIGHT the GMF is the Main Processing Center for ALL of Boston’s and it’s surrounding Towns mail it greatly cuts down time going from smaller Post Offices to here as it’s the size of a LARGE Hotel with MANY USPS Employees getting the Mail to YOU !!!

If you go to this location, get prepared for bad customer service.
Mona Jalal: This USPS is open until 12am 7-days a week and is located in a convenient place. They don’t have printers so you should print the labels beforehand. The whole return process took less than 5 minutes. Friendly and helpful staff.

Max Frail: They opened an hour late. When I got there for the second time that day, the person at the desk couldn’t have been more unhelpful and rude. Whole transaction they had a condescending tone of voice and I had to needle everything out of them just to get my package.

Maddy Guettler: Incredibly awful post office. Staff were not even present for good 10 minutes as just talking in the back despite long line of people. When one staff member finally did show up, staff member told me I couldn’t have my dog in post office despite her quite visibly being a service dog and it clearly being labeled on every usps door that service dogs are allowed. Additionally complained about my handwriting as I grew up learning french cursive and still write as such, while laughing calling up people behind me to get opinion of my 9s which by the way I write like the keyboard and they insisted I change which fine, however my label was already taped over and when tried to take tape off was just ripping the paper with it. So asked them several times for a label which in any other usps office would already be by the desks which they refused to do and after several times asking for it they finally ripped off the side of an empty name tag. Incredibly rude, degrading, annoying experience and will next time despite this being right down the street from me be taking the trip to Fenway or Newton Post office.

Carrie Walker: The operation hours is 8:30 am to 5pm. But they never open on time. I live close by and had to go to this store to mail my packages out. A few days ago, I wasted my time yesterday waiting for them to open and finally they opened at 8:50am! Again yesterday I waited until 8:45 am but they didn't open and had to leave for work. It's just awful management. It seems there's no one supervising or managing the opening of this store! Horrendous

C W: One of the worst post offices I've ever visited. Everyone that works here is highly incompetent and doesn't care a bit about their job. They've been extremely rude and have insulted me over simple mistakes.I wasn't compelled to write a review until today, when I show up 1.5 hours before closing with two large and heavy packages that I lugged through the hot summer sun, only to find that they are closing early without any explanation. I asked if they could help me quickly as I have everything ready to go and they rudely said no and locked the door.Now I'm forced to lug the heavy boxes back to my apartment and have to get a ride quickly to another post office before it closes.

Luke Bassett: Poor customer service. Went in on a saturday about 20 minutes before closing. When I walked up to the window to drop off the package, I was rudely told, "We're closed". I responded by saying, "You're open for another 20 minutes." to which he responded, "No, we are closed" which was pretty much a slap in the face of laziness. Some of the employees here can be friendly people throughout the day but sometimes, the laziness of the employees is immeasurable.

Kate: I needed help trying to find a package that had been forwarded from my current address to my new address because the online tracking had not updated in a week.I had to call five different post offices before finding one that would pick up the phone.The man who helped me at the Hanover Street post office was courteous, professional, and most of all helpful! Amanda Pflugrad: The WORST customer service I have ever experienced. I arrived at 1:30 PM to ship my last Christmas gift, the man working there told me I couldn't come in. I was confused considering they didn't close until 2 PM. He said they had people in line, (only three people) and wouldn't let me in. He told me I could go to South Station to ship instead. He then proceeded to shut and lock the door in my face. I was shocked considering it's the Holidays too. Needless to say my Christmas gift will not be arriving in time now. I will not be coming back here again. I highly recommend using to The UPS Store on Commercial street. The staff has always been so respectful and accommodating. This would have never have happened had I went to them instead. I've learned my lesson, don't use this location.

Fernando Manrique: 2 months ago I went there to send a couple of expensive study books to North Carolina. The guy who works there in the morning did a terrible job packaging my items. The envelop ripped when he was wrapping the books and he taped it instead of changing it or using a box instead. Result: My books never arrived, I lost the $120 I was going to get for them and USPS didn't even give a refund for their "no delivering" service. After filling up several searching forms and calling everyday for a month, they told me that the ripped envelope was found but the books are lost.If you have something important to send, use FedEx or UPS.

Don Romano: Best experience at a USPS ever! Came in at 1:00 p.m. on a Friday shortly before Christmas expecting a large line. The line was small but part of that was the fact that the two people at the desk were friendly, polite but extremely efficient. There must be several regulars that come here because the attendees seemed to recognize people and share person greeting. Overall it was great... this should be the template for every smaller USPS office. Nice job to those who work there!

e k: Thank you Bryan(processes passports) for your outstanding customer service and patience today. My debit card's pin was not going through, I did three attempts and Bryan showed extreme patience during that process as the system seems a bit outdated. When there is an incorrect pin u have to remove card , wait a bit, insert card , wait a bit and then reenter your pin. I ended up paying with cash but my overall experience was very positive. Rest of the staff were also very polite and focused on what they were doing. Thanks again guys!

Forever Simmer: Customer service is horrible here, I was notified that my company mail was being held at 59 W Dedham St. because they refused to bring it to our building. One of the ladies who worked on 4/3 around 2pm has a rude tone when I was inquiring about picking up mail. Seems like the employees needs training on customer service asap.

C O: I've been helped by a number of workers here who have been very helpful and kind. But there is one lady in particular who works there who is just so incredibly and unreasonably rude, aggressive and disrespectful. She seemed to make other customers uncomfortable and was triggered by basic questions I had about my package, as if she was trying to invoke a response in me. I remained calm the entire time and if she's still there I encourage others to do the same and not feed into that negativity, because those types of people feed off of it. My same questions were answered very kindly by a different worker. It sounds like others have had similar experiences and I think this Post Office needs a clearing.
