Ashley Makredes: We had our wedding at the State Room in Boston and it was everything I dreamed of AND MORE! Everything from the venue, to the food, to the employees, and everything in between was perfect. Our initial meetings were with Alicia. She helped us pick what was best for us and what we truly wanted. We were then assigned our event specialist, Jenna Scali, who was also amazing! Both girls answered any emails I sent almost immediately and were always so helpful. The night of the wedding, everything ran so smooth. The staff who met us outside to bring us in and all throughout the night who were close by, were just so helpful and kind. I am so glad we chose this venue and would again in a heartbeat. Thank you to everyone who made our wedding a dream!

Maddie Maddern: I literally had dreams about getting married here one day, and I got to do just that on August 13, 2022. This is the most stunning wedding venue in the entire city, nobody can convince me otherwise. It looks gorgeous in photos, but you literally can't imagine how breathtaking it is in person.If the views aren't enough, their events team is next level (particularly Amber). Now bear with me through this part, because there's a reason we're still giving State Room 5 stars (spoiler alert, it's our amazing wedding goddess Amber).We had a bit of a rocky start after we signed the contract (nothing to do with Amber). We signed the contract in May and then backed off for a bit since our wedding was over a year away. Around October, we were speaking with our florist, and he asked if we knew Carolyn (our former wedding specialist) had left. We didn't and nobody from the venue ever reached out to let us know. I immediately emailed both our contacts there and both people whose emails I had were disconnected and had no email forwarding set up or any message directing me to another contact. I called the venue 3 or 4 times before finally speaking with someone and they let me know both people had left and they'd let me know when we had someone new. I was now trying to plan a wedding (at a not-so-inexpensive venue) with no wedding coordinator.Cue Amber! A literal angel who just made every wedding dream come true. This really should be a 4-star review, but Amber is so insanely amazing that she leaves me no choice but to make this 5 stars because anything less wouldn't be a fair testament to her. I am the most Type A a person can be and Amber answered every email, call, and panicked carrier pigeon I sent her way. She went above and beyond when we had issues with other vendors or needed last-minute changes that probably weren't even on her to help with.100% would recommend booking the State Room for your wedding (even despite the challenges) because the staff really is in another league.Thank you for everything, Amber!!

Essentially Erynne: This venue is just absolute perfection & our coordinator Amber was a dream come true. She went above & beyond to make our day amazing; when things weren’t done to her standards or what she thinks I would want, she worked quickly to fix them, never needing to let me know there was even an issue to begin with so I could just focus on the day. Our food was AMAZING, the bar staff was fantastic, & the space was to die for. We will never be able to thank Amber or State Room/Longwood Venues for helping to make our day so memorable!

Kaye Homam: The venue is beautiful and the service is fantastic. Parking is decently priced and the 2 floor venue works really well. The views are absolutely gorgeous. Day and night. The food was a little bland, but I am told that was because of the planner's food options.

Samantha Riley: We knew the State Room had to be our wedding venue the moment we walked in. It has breathtaking views, it is modernly designed, and truly a beautiful space. Additionally, once we started contracting with them, they made it all so easy! They even helped us source special Prosecco for our event. They were also extremely accommodating when we decided to postpone from February 2021 to 2022. We had Amber assisting us leading up to the event and throughout our wedding day. She was responsive, helpful, and truly an expert in her field. We were in great hands with Amber on our special day and everything went off without a hitch! We are so grateful to the State Room and their staff for making our wedding day perfect.

I'm a Boston wedding photographer, and I have the insider view on what weddings are like. The team here is top notch. They are professional, kind, and courteous. You won't go wrong with a wedding here. :)The coolest thing about it are of course, those panoramic views from up high while still being able to be in downtown city life! It’s remarkable what they offer here- so much detail and care has been put into this space that you can really see how much thought went into creating such an incredible place for your big day or special event.

Rachel Hancock: My husband and I had our reception here a year and half ago and they decided to do a dramatic decor change after I signed the contract. I found out only a couple months before my wedding and had to follow through with it, I was livid. They decided to white wash and paint all the original stained wood, and that put a bunch of obnoxious carpets and wallpaper on the floor and walls. The food was ok but nothing special, the house cake is gross and I ended up getting my own wedding cake. Parking is a nightmare and the staff, especially Courtney and Amanda are wicked fake and condescending. I would definitely seek out other venues!!

Emanuel Cole: We had a wonderful experience with the Alden Castle: A Longwood Venue team. We do not live in California but we wanted to get married there so we booked everything remotely. That kind of situation can be anxiety inducing but the Alden Castle team put me at ease. We booked the Romantic special that included the marriage license, officiant and photographers at a remote location. We arrived in L.A. the morning before the ceremony to fill out the license paperwork. We got married at a friend's house in the valley. The next day the officiant and photographers were on time and very professional. The resulting pictures were fantastic. Overall a great experience. I highly recommend this service.

Could not recommend this place less, atrocious customer service. And this was after over $70k was spent on the event.

I’m fine with being told no but, her attitude and her condescending tone is what annoyed me. She lacks sensitivity training. If you’re smart, don’t plan anything with this establishment.

The views of the water from the ballroom are breathtaking. The ceremony space has unobstructed views of the Atlantic. And in the cooler months, their ability to enclose the ceremony space to ensure you still have the same awesome views without worrying about the weather is a major plus, and not a small feat to accomplish!But it's not just the views that make Oceanview enjoyable. The staff here are like a well-oiled machine, always making sure everything is running smoothly, and they're so darn friendly that I almost forget I'm at work. Almost. They run their events perfectly, allowing us to focus on what we are there to do, take beautiful pictures!The food? Levels above what you would expect at a wedding. I can't speak for the fish.. I don't do fish, and they are great about making sure I always have something that is in fact, not fish. Thank you for that!The Oceanview of Nahant is the best. Stunning views, amazing staff, and food that will make you feel as if you are at a restaurant. If you're looking for a venue that has it all, look no further.

Mariam Yak: We got married here in May 2022. What an amazing experience from start to finish! Our coordinator, Ally, was a dream to work with and so reliable, friendly and communicative. She always answered my questions promptly over email and kept us on track and was so patient. The actual wedding day ran so smoothly and guests marveled at the great venue choice and stunning views. Everyone loved the wide selection of food, which was delicious, and high quality bar and service. Buffet stations were a big hit as were the signature drinks. We loved the private cocktail hour as well and the appetizers drinks in the VIP suite. Lastly, the staff was also so accommodating and let us move up the timeline slightly as the night started to slow down. Could not have asked for a better experience or more professional & kind staff. 10/10 for ocean views, food, tailored service and professionalism. Thank you to the whole team for our amazing day!

B B: This place is absolutely gorgeous! My favorites were the fire pits, big blue chair and the swings. The ocean definitely had a smell that I am not used to smelling but the views made you forget about it. You could see houses that reached all the way out to the horizon. The furthest houses looked like specks on a painting of a mountain. The water was so blue. The venue had several rooms all beautifully decorated. It felt so elegant and beachy at the same time. It was truly a dreamy, beachy, fairy tale place I wish I could just visit on a regular basis.

The staff and wedding coordinators are always VERY easy to work with and the experience is always laid back to make setting up for a wedding/event very easy. Plenty of parking for visitors and vender's.I've also attended a few weddings as a guest at Oceanview and its in a fantastic location making it a great location for your wedding or event!!

Olga K.: We have never been inside a restaurant, just outside by the sea. This is our favorite place to collect stones and bask in the sun. Nearby there is a walking path to the rocky part of the coast. There are glamorous views. You can park your car in the lot next to the restaurant. There is a golf course nearby so you will find many golf balls on the shore. This is an excellent place for weddings and other ceremonies. You will get gorgeous landscapes in the photos.

Dana Louie: I don’t even know where to start with reviewing how incredible Oceanview of Nahant was as a wedding venue! From the very first meeting with Allison to tour the venue to the very last moment of our wedding, Oceanview was unbelievable. The venue is gorgeous, the food is fantastic, but the true best part is the coordinators who make the whole process easy, fun, and exciting. Everything was perfectly planned for us. Oceanview had thought of everything to make our day perfect. Lish was a fantastic coordinator leading up to our wedding day and during the event. Lish and Claire thought of everything the day of and made the whole day flawless. We also had a ton of fun at the grand tasting event we went to for planning our menu. We did a Saturday day-time wedding and the pricing was great. You truly cannot get a more breathtaking view for your ceremony and reception. We felt so lucky to have our wedding at Oceanview of Nahant!

MARK GIROUARD: The Oceanview of Nahant only received five stars, because that's all I’m allowed to give them.For my daughters wedding, the staff were on top of everything, They we’re polite, friendly, happy, and accommodating. I can’t be positive, but I think they can read minds, they were prepared for anything and everything.The food was the best I’ve had at any venue that I’ve been to, and I’ve been to some fabulous weddings. There was no shortage of appetizers for the guests, and the choices were wonderful. The bar was fast and had everything anyone wanted. The DJ played the best songs, was funny, and could obviously read the crowd. The dance floor was never empty (except during the meal).During the last hour the Bride and Groom had their last dance on a small dance floor out by the ocean, while a variety of grilled cheese quarters were passed around to their family and friends for a late night snack, and later, make your own Smores finished the night off!If you’re interested in a dream venue for your wedding or your children’s wedding at a very affordable price, look no further than Oceanview of Nahant!

From our first meeting to the last dance at our wedding, the staff at the Hampshire House went out of their way to make us feel like we were the only couple they were working with. How anyone plans a wedding without Michele is a mystery. Her and Karim’s attention to detail is unbelievable - absolute masters of their craft. Whether we were planning the menu or trying to figure out how to get a processional full of kids down the aisle, they were by our side bringing our wedding vision to life. When life threw us a curveball and forced us to postpone our big day, the compassion and empathy the folx at the Hampshire House showed absolutely blew us away and it was like no time had passed when we were ready start planning again a few months later. While the professionalism and service are reason enough to plan your wedding here, you can’t talk about this place without raving about the venue itself. Perfectly situated across from the Public Garden and nestled in Beacon Hill, you couldn’t ask for a more picturesque place to get married. The library is a stunning setting to say I do, and the whole house evokes a kind of historical warmth and charm you can’t find at any other venue in Boston. We also have to take a minute to mention how phenomenal the food was too. Every hors d’oeuvre and dish was perfectly made, and the staff even went out of their way to label everything for our guests with allergies. We feel so lucky to have been able to get married at here, work with the incredible staff, and share such a cool, historic venue with our guests. If you want a worry free wedding at a gorgeous venue with the best service you could ever ask for, do yourself (and your guests) a favor and say “I Do” at Hampshire House, you won’t be disappointed. Jenna Carlson: Hampshire House was mine and my husband's dream venue. The grounds are gorgeous; they simply cannot be beat. One of the things we loved the most about this unique space was the food offering. The moment we saw the menu, we were blown away. Our guest still rave to this day about how amazing their experience was, especially how outstanding the food items were. The passed hors d'oeuvre were exquisite, the first course was executed perfectly, and all entrees were cooked to perfection. What's even more amazing is the staff at Hampshire House, especially Michele. We began to plan our wedding 2 years out. Michele was with us for the entire 2 years, even when it was unnecessary at times. The teams is efficient, accommodating and so professional. There was never a time that I needed anything. I struggle now to put into words, just how absolutely perfect Hampshire House is. Our wedding was such a dream come true, and it would have not been possible without Hampshire House!! 100/10 perfection!

Angelique Markowski: We selected the Hampshire House for our wedding, because we loved the feeling of celebrating in an old-style mansion. The ceremony, dinner, and dancing were all held in the massive library, and it was gorgeous. They had fully working fireplaces for our cold November wedding, which really set the mood. Probably more importantly, the food was outstanding. Our family and friends are all foodies, and if the food was bad, we would have heard about it until the end of time. Instead, people could not get over how amazing both the cocktail hour food was, but also the dinner hour.While the space was stunning to begin with, one of the main considerations in picking this venue was the staff. Everyone was so helpful and attentive to our needs right from the start. They made the whole experience as stress free as possible. The Director/Coordinator, Michele Giacomozzi was amazing. She was always there to answer any questions we had or offer any help she could. Michele did an outstanding job the day of, left us feeling stress free and allowed us to live in the moment.We had so many compliments afterwards about the food, the beauty of the space, and especially the stunning views of the public gardens. We could not have imagined a more perfect day.

Erica Ewing: We fell in love with this rooftop wedding venue in Boston! 90FS is one of Boston’s hidden wedding gems. The wedding reception tablescapes were simple and complementary to the garden venue, with simple succulent terrariums. Everything looked like it was out of a fairy tale. It was such a joy to be a part of our couples special day at your gorgeous venue. I hope we photograph more wedding here soon!

Mika Spencer: When I saw photos for the 9OFS venue online I didn't think it was possible for it to be located in downtown Boston. It is truly in the heart of the city, close to public transit, hotels and points of interest. It's the perfect location for both out-of-town and local guests! The venue itself is absolutely jaw-dropping with many spaces for you to host events. The outdoor area is perfect for the ceremony and even dancing. There are also 2 large open spaces with floor-to-ceiling windows, which are perfect for happy hours, dinner, dancing and even a rainy ceremony. The boardroom is the perfect place to get ready with bridesmaids and the bathrooms are clean and modern. This was the first and last venue that we visited. It was such a gem, we knew that no other venue would come close to comparison. Working with Jaye at 9OFS was absolutely seamless and made the whole wedding planning experience much less stressful. I had numerous guests comment on how amazing the venue was and loved watching my parents' jaws drop when they first saw it. This venue was so breathtaking, I would have actually postponed my wedding a year if it wasn't available when we needed it.
