Cambridge Insight Meditation Center: what do users think?
Barbara Saltzstein: The MBSR class, 24 plus hours, is good for content, but absolutelylacking in any group experience, therefore, barely meaningful. After all these hours in a 10 person class, I know not the names nor interest of my fellow participants. There is no group sharing.Really? And the instructor ask is greater and greater.
Andreeyoga Namaste: I give 5 stars to my teacher, Larry Rosenberg, of many years. But I gives only 3 stars for how CIMC has changed.Looking at the list of programs, it’s like watching the politics of the day.Groups are segregated by race, gender and gender identity.Very hard to feel that such an approach is beneficial for all meditators connecting regardless of what they look like.
Steven Sklivas: A jewel of mindfulness in Cambridge.
Laurentiu Craciun: Amazing place to meditate
Judith Prebluda: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,QualityI have been studying and retreating at CIMC for over 20 years. The quality of clear instruction and compassionate responsiveness is outstanding and life changing. A jewel in the heart of Cambridge.
Adeline Sire: Beautiful center, welcoming people, excellent classes.
Ornoth Liscomb: A precious and authentic urban meditation center in the vipassana/insight meditation tradition. One-time sessions, recurring workshops, and meditation retreats for the full spectrum of practitioners, from beginners to longtime meditators. Especially valuable are the Wednesday evening dhamma talks, which feature a diverse set of recognized community leaders and monastics from varying traditions. A rare and precious gem of a resource for contemplative development.
Allen Perez: Teaches to go empty.
cheri ruane: Beautiful space with a wonderful community of practictioners. Excellent for beginners like me.
FREEANA: This place has a history of wounding and damaging people and tossing them out without a grievance system in place. It is an ego driven and rigid environment where the hierarchy between teachers and students is very obvious. They are a soft power cult from what I’ve learned. They don’t care about the individual in my experience and from what I’ve heard from others. Their one size fits all mentality is ridiculous for this century. Look up Lorin Roche and Camille Maurine Roche. They know how to encourage freedom and exploration within each unique person. We are not all the same! These people will trample all over your inner world if you let them. They do not have good boundaries.
Cliff Reeves: Beautiful building, relaxing environment.
Kyle Kaplan: Great place for a quiet sit, lovely community
Peter Kusinski: This is a great spot for all levels of practice. Very beginner friendly and a wide variety of teachers at they're Wednesday night Dharma talks. Many different groups meet regularly and they offer 1 day workshops most weekends.
John Robison: Larry Rosenberg is the man! Keep up the great work, Larry & Co!
Brian Bunnell: GREAT FACILITY for meditation or mindful socializing. Beautiful place!
doug g: This is a wonderful place to learn and practice meditation. Larry and Narayan, the guiding teachers, are among the great Western meditation masters. The center offers lots of classes, workshops and retreats at both beginner and intermediate levels. All in all a real gem.
Tom Horan: Great people, courses, meditation areas, retreats and a comprehensive library. It's a treasure for anyone who is serious about meditation.World-classes lecturers, teachers, and monks visit regularly to give dhamma talks and the center hosts a variety of retreats which cater to those at all stages of practice.
Mikhail M. Nitko: Amazing, kind place and people.
Thị Tân Mùi Nguyễn: The people in here are very nice and friendly. There are so many projects that you can join in to practice meditation and find out more about mindfulness. They have the activities for kids call "little Buddha" that is awesome!!! Highly recommend for this place!
Osvaldo Matos: Meditation and Dharma talk on Wednesdays at 6:30
Molly Roderick: I had an amazing life changing experience here. My teacher's name was Maddy. Her humor made the class easy to sit through. And I am now practicing meditating daily. It has opened my mind and brightened my soul. I am happier and at ease with my life. You should take a class with her! I highly recommend it!

Down Under School of Yoga: what do users think?
Isabelle Raposo: Every time I'm nourished by class with Franny, my eyes are opened by class with Ashley, and my limits are pushed in class with Sami! (in a good way!). I've had such a good experience here over the past year and I appreciate that I never know exactly what to expect.
Kelly A: My happy place! I joined this studio 2 months ago and already am feeling so many benefits from regular practice. It's what I look forward to the most throughout the week. Highly recommend!
Aylen Doucette: I found this studio walking by one day and have been to three of its locations and I have to say it has made my stays in boston so very nourished. Great challenging but meditative at the same time, classes, nice folks, beautiful spaces, lovely teachers, I have done yoga for 26 years and have been exposed to a lot, and this place is great!
Vitali Vashkevich: Good first experience but a few things were suboptimal in my opinion:-Studio: No showers [ nice to have but not a big deal especially if it's 20F outside and you're sweaty]-Class: heated flow with G. Singleton. I had trouble hearing the instructor who did a lot of work for the camera but seemed like students physically present in the studio had no attention. The class felt extremely rushed - like cramming a yoga class on the way to the appointment for which you're already late. No time to catch a breath, to do the flow properly, feel your body. I am hopeful to try enough classes/instructors to find a good flow.
Bobby Leighton: Best yoga studio I've ever been to and I have been to a lot.
Elise Capodilupo: Down Under is my happy place! its where I go to challenge my mind, my body and to find inner peace. The environment at down under is what you aim for at any studio, there is a strong sense of community but an immense respect for each individual. come as a novice or an expert and you will find that every teacher can meet you where you are at in your practice. Shout-out to Erran, who is running the Cambridge studio, she makes sure that every person walking in the doors feels welcome and comfortable. I am so happy I found my place here at Down Under!
L Adams: Awesome staff and classes
Meghan Day: my second home! down under has 3 beautiful studios and an amazing, welcoming, and inclusiveness community. the teachers are the best in boston and my practice has come so far since joining a year ago and i see myself learning and growing with every class taken. what a truly special place! highly, highly recommend any heated flow class!
Alechka: Good teachers, but the studio itself is very uncomfortable.
Saana McDaniel: This yoga studio has been my home-away-from-home for almost 21 years now. It has changed management few times but the magical spirit has stayed the same -- it is a true mothership of Boston yoga. Excellent teachers who possess great knowledge, respect and compassion. They know when to turn it up but also when to dial it down. Namaste!
Drishti: Where’s the WELLNESS ? ☹️My first experience at Down Under Yoga was a BAD one. I was given a monthly pass as a birthday gift and was excited to try this studio, which is close to my home. Unfortunately, in the immediate weeks following my birthday I became ill with a nasty upper respiratory infection and was unable to utilize my monthly pass - but once ( before falling ill ). By the time I was well enough to practice again my monthly pass was about to expire, so I decided to reach out to the studio to let them know my situation, - in hopes of reconciling a fraction of the missed gift pass in the form of a future visit / class. I later received a voicemail & subsequently spoke with Holly from the Brookline studio, who informed me that I was welcomed to purchase more passes, if I’d like to return to the studios. The conversation felt transactional and I was put off. I expressed my disappointment at the way the situation was handled and wished her a good day.I expected more from a WELLNESS based business and it’s unfortunate that they were so focused on the latter.
Michael Brown: I love their Iyengar classes (unfortunately, the Cambridge campus has fewer Iyengar than Brookline). The instructors are very well informed about sports medicine as well as the history, culture and context of yoga.

Down Under School of Yoga: what do users think?
Blakesley: Love!!!!!!
Ashley Henry-Musser: I’ve eaten their delicious food and drank their amazing smoothies. I took my first hot yoga class today, and everything from the front desk lady, to the facility and yoga instructor was fantastic. I purchased a membership because I cannot wait to make this a regular routine for myself. They also have a baby and parent yoga class that I’m elated to take my daughter to!
Eleanor Riccardi: I came in for a massage with Alain today. I have had many over the years and I am quite particular. I look for someone who is intuitive, focused and unique and Alain is all of these things! He’s kind, thoughtful, professional and very skilled. It is the high level of service that you would expect coming to Down Under. A truly elevated experience! I will be back
Jesse Tordoff: The best
Andrew Stevens: A wonderful fusion of yoga and plant-based goodness. Here's your oasis from the stressors of life. Heal your gut, ground your body, and still your mind. The smoothies are fresh, the yoga is a calm breath, and there are plenty of peaceful places for quiet study ✨🙏

Majestic Yoga Studio: what do users think?
Melody Mak-Jurkauskas: Lindsay and Francesca- I can't thank you enough for jumpstarting my yoga practice this year! Our weekly session is a much needed treat for this group of parents and caregivers! I look forward to walking into your studio/oasis of joy, mindfulness, friendship, and yoga!
Jessica Antoline: I found this studio during COVID and it's changed everything for me. For the first time in years after a bad spinal injury I feel stronger and more centered because of my private lessons with Lindsay. I can't say enough good things about her. She is kind, highly educated, empathetic, and totally understands what it means to come to yoga without any experience and a body full of pain. I've learned more in my few weeks with her than I have in many years watching and attending yoga classes. I really didn't know what I didn't know! (Doing poses wrong, not listening to my body, etc.)I am so grateful to Lindsay and to her always trying to help people feel safe and healthy even during the pandemic. I'm not sure what I would do now without our weekly time together! Thank you!
JBroms: I am older, and a little over two years ago started test-driving different yoga studios. I had been to a few yoga classes in the past, but not enough to count as anything. A fried recommended Majestic and I have now been a weekly regular for the past two years. Lindsay is a terrific teacher, one who not only knows the practice inside and out, but continues to think about and modify how she teaches and leads. Frankly, knowing my past I'm rather surprised at my discipline and commitment to the Majestic program, but it's really a reflection on the quality and personality of Lindsay and Majestic. Highly recommended.
Martha W: Love this yoga studio! Best instruction, particularly for bodies with challenging issues or illness like mine. Fabulous, customized direction.
