Dig Time: Service is very questionable. We ordered drinks and just never received them. Sat for about 30 minutes. The young female bartender is very rude and not someone you want to interact with on a personal or professional level. Highly don’t recommend as there are a score of other places to go in the area for drinks. Wings were also dry as well.
Jaye Aster Broder: A go-to college pub, Grendel’s has a nice half-priced food happy hour from 5-7pm when you also order a drink. Grendel’sIs normally busy and a little loud. There are stairs down to enter. While in the basement, there are some windows that let light in. There is a moderate selection of beers on tap and cans as well as some simple cocktails. I would probably discourage large groups from coming here as it can be tough to find a table.
Samantha LaForgia: Decent after work spot! Reasonable priced. Some variety to the menu. Check it out if you want something quick and low key!
Matthew D. Jones: Varied menu prepared well. Huge bar selection. 50% off for early dinner offer is tremendous value.Recommended dishes Quesadilla, Sandwich …More

A.G. Vermouth: Jeff is a cat.
Paula D: Cool menu, live music on Monday, and a sweeeeeeeeeet half price happy hour. Ya can’t go wrong. Thanks, Grendel’s.
Crystal Gonzalez: Their espresso martinis are amazing, as well as potato skins with Mac n cheese. Typically packed on a Friday night but its harvard Sq. The vibes and the music were great, and I did appreciate the public safety notice in the bathroom.
Andrew R: Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5More
CJW: Bomb spot. Great divey, service industry hang. Rad folks, both those that work there as well as the people who frequent Grendel's. If Mal is on bar, get a green tea shot (Note: it contains alcohol), it is extremely tasty. Best part, it's tasty for any palette; it's not too sweet, not too sour/bitter, great complexities, and absolutely delicious flavour profile. Yummy! Nice bathrooms, good ambience, great music, and all around good energy vibes. As always, please don't forget to tip your servers and your bartenders, in addition to any and every one else that works to provide a wonderful experience for you. ©️ CJWVegetarian options: Various yummy vegetarian optionsParking: It's in Harvard Square so it's generally fairly difficult to find parking. I suggest using public transportation, or park outside of Harvard Sq. and enjoy a short walk to Grendel's. ©️CJW
Connie Durgin: Waiter pretty much ignored us when we came in for dinner before a show at the Brattle ... we waited a good half hour before he actually took our drink/food ordersFood: 3/5|Service: 1/5|Atmosphere: 3/5Recommended dishes Sandwich …More
Jordan Sandman: Best place in the world to work. Period.
Dan M: Pretty solid Harvard Sq Dive Bar with a scent and stickiness that always lingering. Maybe it’s because it’s in a basement. Anyhow they have a great patio set up in the summertime so I like to go then. Only thing is you need to order some food with drinks when dining out there.
Tom: Decent food, but the bartender looked/acted like he'd rather be anywhere else other than work, which I get, but c'mon guy.
Jan Haughey: we were looking for a spot to get dinner before a show at ART, and this was perfect. First time there. Our server was helpful and attentive. We were pleasantly surprised that the meal was half priced due to the time and drink order! I had the brisket sandwich and my friends had the Ceasars Wrap Fun neighborhood bar vibeFood: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 4/5 …More
Asan Muhammed: Outstanding...there was something wrong...but I can't remember what it was, great food, cozy, cool in the basement on a very muggy boston day. reasonable prices, obvious menu (no questions like...what is that?). nice change from the attempts at foodie delights we have experienced in the past 37 hours. highly recommended.

Nubar: what do users think?
Eileen Donnelly: Staff need to smile more and be more guest friendly. We were shocked st the cold shoulder approach from staff, Al.odt that we were an interruption to their 4 colleague chat (I.e. not busy)Service: 1/5|Atmosphere: 4/5 …More

Rambler Elk: I recently visited Nubar and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of food, despite the limited options on the menu.My companion and I ordered the salmon and shrimp linguini, and both dishes were truly amazing. The flavors were well-balanced and the ingredients were fresh and delicious. In addition to the entrees, the popovers and flat bread were also noteworthy. However, the atmosphere at Nubar left something to be desired. The lack of music created a somewhat lackluster vibe, and the cocktails were not up to par with the quality of the food. While they were drinkable, they were not particularly memorable.Overall, I would definitely recommend Nubar for the food alone. The salmon and shrimp linguini are must-tries, and the popovers and flat bread are a nice bonus. Just be prepared for a less-than-exciting atmosphere and average cocktails.
Guillermo Teseira: Food: 4/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 4/5More
Seth Gertz-Billingsley: Typical hotel restaurant. They had gluten free burgers that were phenomenal the first time we visited and only average the second two times. Clam chowder is alright, but would not order again.
Jason: Food: 4/5|Service: 3/5|Atmosphere: 4/5More
Harold Oshima: Great bar and bartenderService: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Jacopo Margarini: Worst dinner in the US!Nothing was good, more salt than in the Dead Sea ( see borek), burger does not have an authentic ingredient (all class C-)DISASTER!
cheryl gersh: Went for Thanksgiving buffet. Very average food. Turkey and mashed potatoes were on the dry side. Pastries did not taste homemade. Food displays for desserts were messy.Servers did not clear off dirty dishes from dessert at alll.
Gavin Kleespies: Food: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 4/5More
Theresa Campbell: Delicious steak, fresh salad, sumptuous chocolate torte,Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Sharon: Great spot! I went to Nubar after an event and this place is very pretty. Bar was cool- had the Bruins game on which is always a Plus in my book haha! Got the Classic Burger w shoestring fries and it was yummy!Parking: There's an attended lot adjacent to the restaurant/hotel.
Hubert Murray: Food fair to mediocre. Water waiter excellent. Head waiter rude and apparently in a hurry as if we were on a production line. 3 stars a little on the generous side.
C Fujima: Clam chowder was ok, but could be a little warmer. Steak was overcooked and dry and the same for the sprouts; impression is that it was sitting on the grill waiting for a customer
Rudy Donalson: Absolutely amazing
Benjamin Kirkup: A lively, cheery, active hotel restaurant and bar, with well regarded flatbread/pizza, a range of necessary food, good bartenders. A little off the square but not in the residential neighborhoods.
Catherine Dorian: Creative cocktails and delicious, authentic middle eastern fare. They were more than accommodating of our party of eight and of my vegan diet.Mezza plate is divine; some of the best hummus I've had in the Boston area.
Jeri Thys: We had a party for our wedding weekend here with about 50 plus guests. We worked in advance to set a menu and the manager was superb. We were able to section off an area and it was all excellent. They worked with our budget, made suggestions and almost everything was passed except for 2 stations. We love it here!!
Ayesha Trips: Good food waiters are very kind recommended

Bambara Cambridge: what do users think?
michele harper: I had the wings they were great.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
J W G: Had breakfast there, while staying in the hotel. The waitress ignored us for about 10 min though we were the only in the queue waiting to be seated. We decided to take a seat ourselves. After another 10 min the lady who was to clean the tables brought us the menu. Also the cutlery was dirty.
Linda Barlaam: We had a private event at Bambara and we highly recommend. We were seated in a lovely private area of the restaurant. The food was delicious. Shout out to Andres our server for an outstanding job. We started with the wings and calamari. We appreciated that the calamari cooked to perfection with a delicious sauce. The beet salad, salmon and hanger steak were all amazing and the portions were quite large. The creme brulee and chocolate dipped fruit made for lovely ending to what was a terrific meal. We highly recommend this restaurant for your private celebrations!
Claire Walker: I had 4 meals here. All were great. The menu was restricted due to a staff event the first night, even so, the kitchen made an exception to serve some excellent oysters. Breakfasts were tasty and very generous. I had a classic one day and a salmon bagel the second day. The only thing I would say is that a little more cream cheese would have been good for the bagel. The lobster roll was generous and well cooked. I really liked the hot or cold option.
David Clements Jr.: Great location, and the food was amazingFood: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Fried Calamari …More
Andrea Perez: Nov 2022, Chef Adam Resnick kindly brought the dish out himself and I proceeded to enjoy one of the most delicious meals of my life! I wish I knew what this dish was called, it was special for charity so I am unable to find it on the menu. Everything we ordered was so yummy! Sauce for the oysters, burger, fries, etc. The tostones were perfect, the sauce was perfect, I wish I could be transported back!
Court Noyes: Bambara is the epitome of approachable 6 Fine Dining with Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants, and Peter (our Server) is the best when it comes to amazing expert recommendations and knowledgeable insights into the different dishes on the menu. I highly recommend both the swordfish and the steak and my partner and I both thoroughly enjoyed the oysters and the clam chowder to start.I also want to remind people that oysters are two for $3 between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m., and while we did not take advantage of this since we ate later in the evening on Valentine's Day, the oysters were still amazing. Fresh and local from Barnstable! The sides are generous, and we enjoyed the fingerling potatoes delicata squash anymore taking some of the sides home. The food is elevated, customizable and also quite delicious. If you are in the area, whether it be at MIT just across the river in Boston, for passing through the area, I highly recommend asking for Peter at them Bambara restaurant. When you call you may get John, who I believe is one of the managers, and handles everything deftly making all dinner and hotel guests feel welcome.Hot tip: ask for one of the booths! Very romantic if you are looking for that.Drinks are sublime - ask about the Old Fashioned and also the bartender's favorites.Oh and don't skip when it comes to dessert! Creme brulee bananas over a chocolate mousse with oatmeal cookies finished off the evening - elevated presentation and delicious!Don't think twice - just make a reservation or walk in and know you are in for a great night!!Vegetarian options: Many optionsKid-friendliness: The team is ready to assist families.Parking: Parking through Kimpton Marlowe Hotel. $25-$45Wheelchair accessibility: YesDietary restrictions: Every item (as far as I know) can be customized.
Sam Childs: Food was great, and bartender was very friendly – great drinks!
Rosa “Foodie with a boodie” Moniz: Went to Bambara for s Bdy brunch. 21 of us, think they forgot we were coming. Not ready for us at all. Once we sat took 30 mins just to get coffee. Beautiful hotel thoughFood: 3/5|Service: 3/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Pradeep BN: You get what you pay for? Not here. Got fruits with mold, rude staff, also asked for gluten free bread, got a bread full of gluten
Mary B: What a lovely restaurant! Stopped here on our way to the science museum and didn't regret it. The food was incredible-- you could really tell the head chef and kitchen staff are artists. Everything tasted as good as it looked (which was consistently beautiful). Drinks were good-- highly recommend the pesto arancini, they were mind blowing.
Herm Trepesch: Great vibe
Christopher Lawrence: Great ambiance. Table attendant Katherine was very helpful and welcoming. Great spot to grab a quality breakfast/brunch. Flavors were amazing. Breakfast sandwich and oatmeal were our favorites.
Ezekiel Waisel: Food and service was excellent. Decided to try this place on date night and every option we had was delicious. Ate the hummus plate, pesto arancini, and salmon entree
Silpa Das: Nice place for a team dinner
James Francis: Vegetarian options: Healthy.Parking: Easy valet parking . . Friendly service.
Barbara Shoplock: Close, Convenient and great for that reason. Pasta was wonderful! The rest was just ok...
Christian Hill: Great oysters, salmon with succotash and service - not overpriced at all
Ben Ashman: booth seat was sunken in, piece of vegetable on the seat, table sticky, air control bad on a hot day, soup not good, drink too strong, pasta ok
Andrew and Renee Seaman: The service was really slow and we had to wait 15 minutes to get in and there was only 5 tables full
