Cambridge Athletic Club: what do users think?
Joseph Brassard: Been working out here since about 2019. Generally pretty happy with it. Helpful and available staff when you have questions or want your billing receipt. If you do want to cancel, there's a 2 month transition window but that's it: nothing like the big chain gyms.Five power racks are great, but during rush hour expect them all to be taken up. Like all gyms, there's an issue of people just sitting staring at their phone for 10 minutes between sets, doing nothing. Or super-setting half the machines in the gym. They have put up signs asking people to be respectful but I haven't seen any behavior changes in this.Going off hours is much less busy, but then you have to deal with the cleaning staff mopping right around your feet. Trying to squat when you have slippery floors isn't very safe at all, I've had to start getting a towel from the front desk to dry the floor to I don't kill myself. Cleaning staff should stay away from anyone using a squat rack, including the area near the sides where we change weights, otherwise it's just a slippery mess. The main negative and my reason for only four stars is access. Before COVID, we could walk right in the First Street or the Linksey Way entrance. During covid the building locked the Linksey way entrance, which is annoying as you have to walk around the block to the front. However, they eventually locked the front entrance, too. Gym members don't have access badges to the outside door, so we had to ring the visitor doorbell. That was annoying enough, but now they not only make you ring the door bell but have to speak to the security guard. The intercom is completely unintelligible and you have to shout 'I'm going to the gym!' to be let inside. Not a great experience during winter, or in the rain, since you are not covered. They really need to make getting inside easier. The gym is a tenant of the building, we should be granted come/go access through all doors without having to wait for security to buzz us in.
Lindsay Teliska: I recently joined this gym and I love it! They have a variety of machines/equipment and it never seems too crowded. A lot of workout classes and access to squash courts, a basketball court, saunas etc come with membership. I also like the rewards program!
Mark Ceglio: Great gym with some excellent amenities! Always clean and not too crowded. Friendly staff. They offer a lot of deals and reward opportunities
Allison Looney: The facility at 215 First St. is roomy with lots of equipment, including a women-only studio, so I rarely have to wait to use any machine. Recently they've added new classes, so there are varied options for cardio, flexibility and balance exercises. The staff and other members are friendly and encouraging. With the help of my personal trainer weekly training sessions since December 2021 I've lost 35 pounds. I'm feeling good and I look forward to continuing to improve my health with the support of the CAC community.
Dan O'Connor: Been going here for a couple months. The gym is great - plenty of equipment, not too crowded, friendly staff. Can’t ask for more in a gym
yang hu: Small but compact gym with 5 power racks and two weightlifting platforms, which are very nice. I go to CAC during rush hours but always can find a rack. They allow me to use chalk! It is a big bonus to me, maybe it is the main reason I still go here even living far away from here.
Abigail Buckley: great facility for a reasonable price! the women's only fitness studio was a big sell for me
tommydoherty42: One of the best gyms in the area
Tushar Bahl: I came to this gym from June 2021 - July 2022. Only reason I left was due to moving to a new state. I wish I could still come to this place! It is incredibly well-kept and offers a lot to do. I came for weightlifting and they offered more than enough equipment for my desired goals, though they also offered squash, basketball, crossfit, and fitness classes. During peak hours between 5pm - 6pm the gym was busy, but you could get a squat rack or a deadlift pad within 5 minutes of waiting. I always saw someone pass by cleaning the floors, which was a nice touch, and cleaning wipes were always in a convenient reach. I had a great experience here and will miss it!
Biella Coleman: I had such HIGH hopes for this gym since it is right around the corner from where I live and has a great sauna. There are lots of good things about it but the woman's steam room is full of mold and it is right next door to the sauna. I am quite sensitive to mold so I am unable to join after trying out the day pass. I would consider if they truly fixed it by removing the tiles and cleaning the mold that is likely grown behind the tiles. I've never seen such a bad mold problem in a stream room before: it was smelly and visible. I am glad that fixing the steam room is in the fix list but it smelled musty and the black discoloration is often normal in the grout but it was beyond the grout and on the tile and that should wipe off. Mold is nothing to mess around with especially in basements and when there are ducts and vented air. I will certainly consider once the steam room has been fixed.
Andrew Ekladious: Amazing club, I usually go for squash and working out. The courts are great and they have enough equipment and good variety of machines. Recommend especially if you want a good gym to go to after work.
Ava French: The instructors & the equipment are great. Carla is the best. Wifi isn’t fantastic though
Mark DiRocco: Very clean and nice gym! I can tell they really care about their clients. Nice and quiet during off hours as well.
Michael Brazile: Great gym, plenty of space and machines. Wonderful friendly staff that also take the mask mandate seriously and enforce it. The majority of people follow the rules and wear their masks, but there's a minority that try and play games. Just flag these selfish jerks and management will be on them - a few people have had their memberships suspended for repeatedly unmasking. So if you've been someone concerned about returning to a gym due to COVID, CAC Anthenaeum is about as good as it gets.
Mark Winderlich: Positive:Communication,ProfessionalismGreat composition of basketball court, squash court, cross-fit box, gym and freestyle area! Friendly reception, great trainers. Very clean and no waiting times at fitness machines! Great place!
Farzaneh Khajouei: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality* It is clean and orderly, we usually see cleaning staff taking care of the environment* They have complete set of weight lifting equipments and cardio machines* Plenty of equipment and we never had to wait for anything
Frank Garrett: I love how I am always greeted when entering and farewelled on my way out.
Kyle Wiant: Great equipment, friendly staff, well-maintained.
Aly Dunnington: Staff are friendly and the equipment is consistently cleaned. This location has a great variety of equipment available, convenient location, and large locker rooms.
Mike Gould: Best gym to workout in the Kendall Square area! Equipment is up to date and clean. Love it here!

Massachusetts Table Tennis and Badminton Club: what do users think?
Jake Oppenheim: I have not had success finding this facility open when I've wanted to play... since covid.
Borja Carrillo: Honestly the place is not bad, but it lacks the proper guidance. I went there to play by myself and like most badminton places its by court reservation so I had to play with someone else and I said that if it was Ok for the people already there for me to join and we all agreed. The first day I was charged 20 dolars for a day pass. The next day I decided to go again. Like I did the day before I had no group of people to go with so it was just me, no court reservation, just day pass. Well now, the second time I am in, I am told at the front to pay $20 again which is okay, but after I played for an hour and a half I was told to pay $24 more because its $12 per court, per hour. Thats aside of the $20 If you are not a member. Btw I was told I had to make this payment after I played. It deffinatelly seemed unfair to me since no one told me anything the day before or at the beggining of the second day. Honestly, like I said, not a bad place but needs more guidance so that people dont get unpleasant surprises like I did.Pd: If you want to become a memeber, you can do it for the jaw dropping price of $995 annually.
Xinxin Zhang: Three courts with rubber mats on concrete floor. Somewhat high clearance. Lighting is not the best but good enough. It doesn’t seem to have AC or heating. Be sure to reserve a court with a group in the evenings or during weekends for no open courts available.
Justin Wong: This is a good place to play if you can coordinate with a group of friends. Otherwise, it's pretty tough to play by yourself. Currently, you have to schedule ahead of time to reserve the court with a fee.
Steven Warwick: Could use some shower facilities but the courts are fine.
SHUYI HE: Said open 7 days, but door locked and no one there during the opening hours. Drove more than 1 hour to get here. Never answer the phone call and mail box always full.
Collin Newton: Is the club open at this time and is there people to play table tennis with when I arrive I’m about 2000 to 1950 rating wise
Erica Willbur: I love tennis since childhood, so I often come here to play. Nice place, great tables.
Thomas Cui: This club sets priority right, which is club members always have top priority. Make sense. After all, it is a private sports club. It is nice for the club to open to public without compromise club members’ interests. Otherwise it would be unfair to club members who paid big money for the annual member fee.Location, location, location. It is in a sports plaza where many other sports facilities are available, including basketball, gymnastics, and fitness center.
ssozi amjad: Nice
Detective YooYoo: Not to mention that there is no AC for YOU if there are no kids practicing. They will turn off the light definitely on time no matter whether you finish your games, the reason is they have to leave. They may charge you different prices, normally just raise it:), even if you make the deal before or MAYBE it’s because the boss is not good at math:). They ask for CASH and reject you to use credit card if you just less 2 or 3 dollars. MAYBE they can avoid 1 or 2 dollars tax to buy a bottle of water since there are no fountains, I don’t know it either. Hope everyone who went to the place enjoy how they treat people:). REALLY Make me know the world Well.:)
陶海东: MATTBC麻州乒羽俱乐部宾至如归的感觉乒乓球🏓️羽毛球🏸️尽情释放锻练身体👍
Xiangyi Meng: No AC.No badminton courts (only three which are full of people all the time). No refill water.…and they charge you $17?!!!I understand that there are few badminton courts in the Boston area, but this should not be the reason of their awful service. Please, DON'T go.It's everyone's responsibility to create a more friendly environment of playing badminton in Boston.
Insane Nirvana: Pros: This place has 3 decent quality badminton courts. They charge $15 per head for an entry and one can play as long as they want. Table tennis facility is good and usually available to play.Cons: Its hard to get badminton courts. So make sure you courts are available to play before you pay for entry. All three courts are usually taken up for coaching. Even for a paid entry, you may get only half a court to use, rest is reserved for folks who attend coaching sessions. Coaching happens almost every day. Weekends and late evenings are crowded. No good air-conditioning. Either its too cold in winter or too warm in summers.
Mahes S: Good place for table tennis, badminton lovers.
jacob robins: Good courts but poor ventilation.
Wayne Liu: Very laid back and friendly employees, family ran business, the entry price is 15$ and you can play for however long you want, parking is right out front and you never have to worry about parking space. Great place for some cardio.
Mike DeNinno: My favorite place to play badminton. Padded court mats and good lighting. Have table tennis as well with available lessons. Cost is a bit on the high side, $12, but you can play as long as you want.
Callistus Pereira: very expensive especially for the location (they charge a lot even for extra paddles when other places provide them for free). You will find better and more than 50% cheaper options closer to boston. I would go here more often if it was more affordable.
Tyler Jowaisas: It's just people that love to play. What more do you want?
Matthew Tam: Only 3 badminton courts here. Can get crowded. No a/c or fan which gets really hot in the summer.

Boston Badminton: what do users think?
Moose “Galactic Reviewer” Ooze: Nice place to play badminton. Wood floors with high ceiling and balcony area. Parking available outside. No restaurants nearby. There’s an Indian temple next to it.
Kishore Dasararaju: Nice place for kids and adults to play.Update: Sending my son for Badminton coaching. He is happy. They do stringing, sell racquets, shoes, etc. My son had to restring both his racquets recently. He also plays/practices with his school friends here as well.
Lalith Reddy: Courts are really good but feel the price is little bit on the expensive side
Anuroop Reddy: I wanted to join as a member but their courts are always full. They only have 2 open courts. So I occasionally go and play for couple of hours instead. The courts are very slippery last week and was told that it is because of winter.
Aaron Tennyson Vinodh Immanuel: I’m not surprised with the very recent bad reviews. I wish I give BBC more stars but the current situation is beyond frustrating!I agree that there are longer wait times at Boston Badminton Club (BBC) and it is certainly expensive. The most annoying thing is: rotation play court being unplayable due to liquid droplets, it’s been an issue for over a year now.And I’m not sure why BBC would schedule training sessions during weekday evenings? I used to go 4-5 times a week last year, however it’s just 1-2 times currently due to longer wait times and weekday evening training sessions. Hope someone does something about these concerns, sometime soon.
DG: Extremely crowded both in mornings and evenings both weekdays and weekends. Majority of the courts are taken for classes and there are so many people waiting for just 1 court for their turn. Wait time is 45 mins to 1 hour during peak times. Water drops from sealing on one of the courts which makes it unusable regularly. Even with annual membership, you need to spend additional money to book courts which should be planned at least a month in advance. Just tired of waiting.
Borja Carrillo: Great place, the courts are great for playing and the service was amazing, i will be back soon.
Xinxin Zhang: One of the best facilities around greater Boston area. Friendly environment that promotes both competitions and recreational plays. Surely a place worth sweating for fun.
Prakash Rao: Best badminton courts I've seen at least in the New England area. Flexible membership options. And the birdies and merchandise they sell are market rates, not overpriced.
Tara Burns: Fun!
Charles Tang: The superiority of this sports complex is emblematic of the owner's pride in his/her work with this amazing sport. He/she truly manifests his/her desires in this building. I hope that all can experience the true wonders of such a place.
Justin Hagenbuch: One of the best exclusively badminton facilities in North America.
Kirna Kumar Reddyvari: I like to play badminton and this facility is the best I have seen
Zihao Liu (AlilovePeach): You will definitely have fun here. However you will need to bring you own water bottle to the court.
Praveen Chandupatla: Is good place with 8 courts and small gym.Out of 8 courts only 2 available during peak hrs even for members. All other reserved or for training. Management should think of keeping atleast 4 courts for regular members.
emeier t: Good facilities for badminton
Amit Jagdale: Nice facility. Convenient location. Plenty of parking and very friendly staff. Depending on the day/hour it can be quite crowded. But the wait time can be avoided by booking ahead. Different membership plans give you the flexibility to play as much or as little as you would like. Courts are really nice and there is also a small gym of sorts in the loft for warm ups. Overall, good experience.
Jean Murphy: so fun! front desk is a little abrasive but otherwise great
jaimeen kapadia: Fantastic place to play badminton. Dedicated courts and skilled players.
Kaushik S: It was nice and the facilities were good but they should take more precautions for covid. They should at least give only alternate courts usable
