Cambridge Zen Center (CZC): what do users think?
Nikhil Dugane: I had a wonderful experience at the Cambridge Zen Meditation center. Attended College retreat! The atmosphere was incredibly calming and serene, with beautiful natural elements like plants and water features that helped me relax. The instruction and teachers were excellent, providing clear guidance and support throughout the meditation practice. I found that attending the center regularly helped me manage my stress and feel more centered in my daily life. The facilities were comfortable and clean, with everything I needed for a peaceful meditation experience.Overall, I highly recommend the Cambridge Zen Meditation center to anyone looking to deepen their meditation practice and cultivate greater peace in their lives.
Susana Villalobos: It is a peaceful place where everyone share a piece of themselves with others, where they live in community trying to understand each other with kindness and compassion, even when is not easy sometimes, the true Zen is finding yourself, knowing yourself deeply, loving every part of you, to share that love with the same kindness, compassion and understanding with other and the world as one universe.
John Juices: A Zen Master once asked his students: "Is the boddhisattva way to use Google maps to navigate, or not to use it? If you use it, you are attached to its directions, and I will give you one thousand lashes, and if you do not use it, you are attached to emptiness, and I will give you one thousand lashes. So, what do you do?"His student calmly picked up his phone, opened the Google maps app, and rated Cambridge Zen Center with 5 stars.A Google maps poem:Five stars shine bright,CZC gets rave reviews. The mountain, still unmoving,Clouds gather against the sunset.I hope you only go straight--don't know, and that your Google maps usage saves all beings from suffering.Yours in the Dharma,John Juices.
Yang Shen: Fantastic zen center that satisfy your needs and guides you to wisdom. The atmosphere is supportive and friendly.
Waldirene Almeida: Lovely people. Very focus and serious about “real enlightenment “
Myles Yang: CZC is a beautiful building. You'll be welcomed with open arms even as a complete noobie to Zen/Buddhism/meditation. A great place to practice.
Julieta Sarmiento: I would like to share that I just attended my first meditation 🧘🏽‍♀️ retreat at the Cambridge Zen Center (August 2019). It was such a wonderful, profound and powerful experience. Really insightful. Zen Master, the teachers and the friends that I made during the retreat were delightful.I wish to continue this wonderful practice of mindfulness as often as possible, and I very much look forward the next retreat!!Wish you a peaceful day 🌱
Marko Pollo: An intentional community in the heart of Cambridge, Mass. Very welcoming to groups, newcomers, and the merely curious
Tyler Morrill: Great free space for meditation.
Florin-Stefan Morar: Terrific place to practice zen
Kyle Kaplan: vibrant community. a place to learn, practice, socialize. open and supportive.
Ben Gleason: Largest residential dharma center in the U.S., in one of the more established and authoritative Zen schools. You can read about Zen all day, but if you want to experience the real thing, drop by almost any day.

david zhu: Great experience here today celebrating Chinese New Year! Temple is very spacious but was packed with people. The mayor and police commissioner came to guest-speak and witness the festivities: lion dance, dance performances as well as singers. A great, well-coordinated event! Everyone was having a great time and some historical chinese culture was taught too! Would visit again if in area!
Daniel Chen: I filmed a video here and the hosts were really warm and comforting and provided us plenty of space to film.
Maria Battaglia: I absolutely love it. My friend and I went for a new years event. Every one there showed love. There was singing dancing . we saw where they prayed . we were were given a magnificent vegatarian complimentary meal. I felt like I wanted to become a Buddhist.
邱烽祐: 可能是在美國吧地方不大但是很溫馨
Derek Yeung: 心灵加油站.致敬法师.师兄姐义工们!辛苦了.佛佑善人!
Vincent Cho: A wonderful temple with warm people. Various programs for English speakers, Chinese speakers, and kids.
Carlos Cousins: They have a great English-language dharma class that introduces you to Mahayana buddhism on Saturdays at 10am. There’s a meditation/mindfulness component I really enjoy. They’re very open minded and welcoming to people. They also constantly reference foundational Buddhist texts you can read on your own time to learn more about the tradition. On Sundays at 10am there’s a Mandarin-language chanting service with live translation. Love it.
Carmen Liu: Great place! Amazing vegetarian food and authentic Chinese Buddhist temple. Please note that there's only lunch available to the public on Sunday, and it's by donation, but totally worth checking out!
Kong Ooi Tan: Great place for learning about Buddhism
Callie Snow: I don't get here often enough. The lunch specials are a really good deal for fresh food. I haven't used the non-food area, but there seems to be a stream of happy people going in and out. Great place for a yummy lunch, never too crowded.
Kristina Bayne: The Buddhist Cafe is one of my favorite vegetarian restaurant in Cambridge. The lunch special is always delicious and healthful. Try the sticky mushroom rice. The prices can not be beat.
Patrick Landers: Nice peaceful place to spend 10-20 minutes and the best vegetarian food I have had to date.

Cambridge Insight Meditation Center: what do users think?
Barbara Saltzstein: The MBSR class, 24 plus hours, is good for content, but absolutelylacking in any group experience, therefore, barely meaningful. After all these hours in a 10 person class, I know not the names nor interest of my fellow participants. There is no group sharing.Really? And the instructor ask is greater and greater.
Andreeyoga Namaste: I give 5 stars to my teacher, Larry Rosenberg, of many years. But I gives only 3 stars for how CIMC has changed.Looking at the list of programs, it’s like watching the politics of the day.Groups are segregated by race, gender and gender identity.Very hard to feel that such an approach is beneficial for all meditators connecting regardless of what they look like.
Steven Sklivas: A jewel of mindfulness in Cambridge.
Laurentiu Craciun: Amazing place to meditate
Judith Prebluda: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,QualityI have been studying and retreating at CIMC for over 20 years. The quality of clear instruction and compassionate responsiveness is outstanding and life changing. A jewel in the heart of Cambridge.
Adeline Sire: Beautiful center, welcoming people, excellent classes.
Ornoth Liscomb: A precious and authentic urban meditation center in the vipassana/insight meditation tradition. One-time sessions, recurring workshops, and meditation retreats for the full spectrum of practitioners, from beginners to longtime meditators. Especially valuable are the Wednesday evening dhamma talks, which feature a diverse set of recognized community leaders and monastics from varying traditions. A rare and precious gem of a resource for contemplative development.
Allen Perez: Teaches to go empty.
cheri ruane: Beautiful space with a wonderful community of practictioners. Excellent for beginners like me.
FREEANA: This place has a history of wounding and damaging people and tossing them out without a grievance system in place. It is an ego driven and rigid environment where the hierarchy between teachers and students is very obvious. They are a soft power cult from what I’ve learned. They don’t care about the individual in my experience and from what I’ve heard from others. Their one size fits all mentality is ridiculous for this century. Look up Lorin Roche and Camille Maurine Roche. They know how to encourage freedom and exploration within each unique person. We are not all the same! These people will trample all over your inner world if you let them. They do not have good boundaries.
Cliff Reeves: Beautiful building, relaxing environment.
Kyle Kaplan: Great place for a quiet sit, lovely community
Peter Kusinski: This is a great spot for all levels of practice. Very beginner friendly and a wide variety of teachers at they're Wednesday night Dharma talks. Many different groups meet regularly and they offer 1 day workshops most weekends.
John Robison: Larry Rosenberg is the man! Keep up the great work, Larry & Co!
Brian Bunnell: GREAT FACILITY for meditation or mindful socializing. Beautiful place!
doug g: This is a wonderful place to learn and practice meditation. Larry and Narayan, the guiding teachers, are among the great Western meditation masters. The center offers lots of classes, workshops and retreats at both beginner and intermediate levels. All in all a real gem.
Tom Horan: Great people, courses, meditation areas, retreats and a comprehensive library. It's a treasure for anyone who is serious about meditation.World-classes lecturers, teachers, and monks visit regularly to give dhamma talks and the center hosts a variety of retreats which cater to those at all stages of practice.
Mikhail M. Nitko: Amazing, kind place and people.
Thị Tân Mùi Nguyễn: The people in here are very nice and friendly. There are so many projects that you can join in to practice meditation and find out more about mindfulness. They have the activities for kids call "little Buddha" that is awesome!!! Highly recommend for this place!
Osvaldo Matos: Meditation and Dharma talk on Wednesdays at 6:30
Molly Roderick: I had an amazing life changing experience here. My teacher's name was Maddy. Her humor made the class easy to sit through. And I am now practicing meditating daily. It has opened my mind and brightened my soul. I am happier and at ease with my life. You should take a class with her! I highly recommend it!
