McKinnon's Meat Market: what do users think?
Sufian Mushtaq: Good quality meat and good prices but the owner is kinda racist.
Kathy Russo: I have been purchasing meats from McKinnons for many years. Always best quality. Recently I saw spinach feta sausages that looked amazing. I cooked them still excited to try. First bite… fennel. Not a bad flavor but I am allergic. I pulled the package out of the trash to see ingredients. Funny I always look with regular sausages but it never occurred to me with this flavor pairing. PLEASE mark packages with larger print to avoid negative food reactions. This could have been a big one.
Jocelyn Kleiger: Great meats but I even buy my produce here since it’s always fresh and high quality. Thrilled I live near this place!
Donal Waide: Always a great selectionNote, these are not the McKinnons who email flyers...don't sign up.
Jim Haynie: Great chicken cutlets and veal. The bacon wrapped pork is excellent, too. Also I love the teriyaki or house made tips.
Barbara Walsh: Great place to shop. Has a limited stock and yet has everyrhing you need!
C: I want to take this time to thank the front managers and the butcher manager for their kind assistance over the past few years. I remain in a bubble with my 98 yo mom. She loves old school cooking that requires fresh meats cut a certain way. The crew at McKinnons are always always always accommodating. I wish that they would be able to remain at their current location (or any location) for as long as possible. Alas, so many good oldies have had to disappear in the past few years. Take good care.
JP: Great prices you just have to look
Darren Spencer: McKinnon's is always good 😊
Jeffrey Dwoskin: Great selection! Not just meat but also cheese and produce. (McKinnon's if you're listening, just add grass fed beef and I'll come for all my meat.)
Jessy McQuaw: I picked up some vegetables for a proper meal, and some delicious steak Florentine for an easy meal later on in the blizzard
Alexander Johnson: Having a large scale Christmas Dinner I needed pork shoulder slice very thin for Tacos Al Pastor. I called a week ahead and was assured I could just walk in. I called 2 days before and was told to put my order in the day of "theyll take care of me no problem". I call 6 hours before put in my order and I'm told everything will be there at the counter. I walk in and am told they have no such order. They cant slice the pork for me and the smallest they had was 2 lbs more than I needed. The person helping me was generally unsympathetic and I was offered nothing to help.Reply:No I'm certain it was the right place. I opened my log and your employee confirmed the phone number matched the stores location. I asked if there was any way it could of been sliced, but apparently it was too late or he didn't feel like it. Pork shoulder is recommended for Al Pastor. Yes it is hard to cut which is why I called several times to ensure the butcher would help.
Maddie EL: We showed up here the morning of our “Friendsgiving” because we had an icicle turkey at home and 7 people to feed in a few hours. Everyone working here was so nice trying to help us solve our turkey crisis and we ended up with some pre-cut fresh pieces of Turkey which worked out perfectly. The meat tasted great and the people working there were super friendly and helpful in trying to help us find what we needed!
Kathleen Clinton: Good selections and prices
Jean Fang: Loved being able to call in and get a tri tip on short notice! Thank you so much! Clean, friendly, well stocked... Everything you want in a neighborhood butchers shop!
Michael DeSantis: Love McKinnon's. Great for summer barbecue's.
Marcos Alves: Good price
Cassandra Cruikshank: Every cut of meat you could want and I love their cheeses
Brian McGovern: I have been going to McKinnon's for years and they have a great selection of Poultry, Pork and Meat. The help is always friendly and kind. The young man who works behind the Deli Counter is beyond being kind, he is a great person with more manners than anyone I know. Brian McGovern.
Katrina: Cute little meat store that offers a huge variety of cuts of meat , pork , fish , and chicken. They have a small corner of fresh produce and their own deli that offer high quality product for reasonable prices . The staff is always pleasant any time each visit
Joseph “joey” Mahan: This meat market has been here for as long as can remember. It's now under a new management. And yes, there have been some changes, not necessarily bad. Most former employees are gone, so new people working there, means we new customers , not old ones. Now to quality of the meat, I have had a taste of just about everything they offer. My purchases include, Delmonico, family package of 2-3 , bag of chicken wings, bone in pork chops, family pack, ground beef, bag of about 3-4 lbs. Chicken bone in breast fam. . I would not be shopping here all these years if the quality was not good. Anyway except for the fact prices have risen like everything else the quality A. Price compared to other local chainsB+ check it out. Let me know if you agree or not.🙋‍♂️

M.F. Dulock: what do users think?
Haley: Ordered 6 ribeyes for our thanksgiving dinner- process was easy, prices very reasonable for the quality, and the steaks were delicious! We always do nice steaks for thanksgiving and these were EASILY the best we've had. I'll definitely be back!
Ryan: Great customer service. Very helpful in finding what I had in mind!
Tejas Patel: I asked for chili grind beef and it turned out excellent. The chili I made was delicious. Thank you to the guys at MF Dulock.
roy nagar: Great place great service, very good verity of free ranch meat, place is very clean stuff are really nice.Highly recommended
suzanne Ruby: We made the best split pea soup ever with the smoked ham hock—thank you thank you thank you. The quality of meat here is always fantastic.
Cornelia Kröger: Best fresh product, locally sourced. Try their amazing homemade salami!
Paul Marquis: Pleasant and knowledgeable staff with fantastic food. I've gotten the freshest steak and stew beef I've ever had. I would leave more stars if I could.
Thomas Merchel: Somerville's best local butcher shop. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. A wide selection of delicious meats 10/10
Denis Malkov: Favorite new spot in town. Nicest, most knowledgable guys with great recommendations. And seriously the most amazing homemade bacon I've ever tasted in my life...
Neil Sharma: High quality, local, independent, and really nice, knowledgeable staff. I love getting my meat from these guys...
Lillie Pendleton: I don’t like that you show meat to the open world. My daughter comes home to me crying when she walks by seeing you cut open animals after school. I don’t find it very appropriate that she has told me she saw hearts, heads and other gross body parts in a bin under a table. This is udderly nauseating and children shouldn’t see this. This has caused my family including my daughter and I to go vegetarian. I can’t believe that you would show something so shocking to pedestrians in town. I had give 1 star because unfortunately I can’t post a review with out a star, otherwise this would get 0 stars! Put up a curtain please!!!!
William Shinevar: Best butcher in Boston area. Worth every penny. Great recommendations and the meat club is very worth it.
Flor Orosz Hunziker: My favorite group of people in the neighborhood! MF dulock is AMAZING.The quality of their meat is excellent, it reminds me of the great beef that we have back home in Argentina. The pork, lamb, chicken and beef cuts are truly spectacular. This is the best butcher's that I have ever been to in the US! On top of that the people who work here are super friendly and they will help you find the right cut for your meal.
Sam King: While I appreciate ethical farming practices, it isn’t the driving force behind my decision making process. I was given a 2.48 lbs bone in, prime cut, rib eye for an early Christmas present. I reverse seared at 275• with only a salt/pepper/onion powder/brown sugar rub, sparsely decorating the glorious striations of marbling on this beast. I brought it out to rest at 120• internal for about 10 minutes and then tortured it for a minute per side on a screaming hot, well seasoned cast iron 12”er. What resulted was obviously the most perfectly prepared, medium-rare steak you could possibly ask for, obviously, but I didn’t come here to share my prep methods, I came here to tell you that out of the hundreds, possibly thousands of steaks I’ve eaten over the course of my life, this was hands down, the tastiest, most flavourful steak I have ever had the pleasure of consuming. The marbling was generous and healthy, the meat was tender and supple, I could taste the happiness that this cow experienced in it’s life, I could taste the first time it ever experienced the pleasure of a slow stroll through spring fields, the happiness of chewing a cud next to your bff, the simple pleasure of being respected as a living and breathing being. I loved that steak and I love that cow, it is a part of me now. Thank you M.F Dulock
Scott Haenssler: Best Butcher around. Friendly staff and the place is spotless.
Derek Pajaczkowski: Proper butcher with great cuts plus a large selection of sausages, etc, that they make themselves. Definitely worth a trip!
Donal Waide: Quality staff and meat, but only eat the latter.
Kelsey Coffin: The pork chop we got was amazing and they were very help5 and nice.
Bree Dietly: Amazing meats and really knowledgeable people - get yourself there.
Melina Ch: This is such a great shop and the quality can't be beat! I have been here many times and have always found it to be a great purchasing experience. The butchers at the counter never once seem troubled to answer my questions or accommodate a request. Definitely worth a stop!
Max Roberts-Zirker: Love this place, so I drive from Roslindale every month to be part of their meat club. Some of the friendliest and most helpful people at any business - special shout out to Max - and the meat is awesome!

Savenor's Butcher Shop & Market: what do users think?
Francesca Gordini: Best place for veal, livers and all the odd meats you might think of.It's also the go-to place for exquisite pork lard!!Julia Childs favorite butcher is still the top place where to shop for meat. I wish rabbit meat was cheaper.
Tobias Herrmann: So many amazing and exotic products. Quality is top notch. Every time we buy a steak here, it turns out so much better than meat from the supermarket. Pricey, but defenitely worth it!!!
Lona Lane: I live in Chicago and a friend Wes told me about Bostons, Your meat is some of the BEST I’ve ever tasted since I left Louisiana. Thank you for sharing your talent with the community. God Bless Your much deserved accolades❣️
Rachel Hammond: Savenor’s is the ideal artisan market. They have the basics that you need, but they also have the special things that you want and can’t find elsewhere, from local dairy products to cuts of Wagyu beef. The staff is friendly and knowledgable. And I really love that they have the best products without being pretentious. I’ll definitely be back.
joe hourihan: This place is rather expensive so be prepared for that, but I find it difficult to find anything else that cares as much as they do to find the best quality product. If they don't have something they will go out of their way to find it
Joseph Doyle: Love this place. Widest selection of meats and best quality. Staff at butcher counter is really helpful. Produce is also better quality than normal grocery stores.
Peter Hey (RV PLANET): Small grocery store in high end neighborhood. Julia Child's shopping food store, as they show it in their wall pictures... did not buy anything, but comments about the items are good.
Belle T: I upgraded my 2 ⭐️ to 5 🌟 as they do listen to the voice of customer!!! There are new baskets to put the groceries and I go on the weekends for my meat 🥩 🍗 🦆 supply!!! Plus, I love their gelato 🍧 selections!!! 👍👍 In addition, the butchers are really nice and friendly._________________________________________I love this gourmet grocery in my neighborhood. They have very good quality meats and maybe varieties! However, I gave it 2 stars because they charge a lot more for good quality produce but have horrible damaged metal baskets. I got a deep cut on my finger from one of the broken metal pieces from the basket. I just hope it doesn’t cause tetanus!!! Pls make your shopping environment safe for your customers. Replace the damaged metal baskets with a plastic baskets instead.
Tony Campagna: I don't know where they source their beef, but it's absolutely top grade. One of the tenderest, most perfectly marbled, buttery delicious ribeyes that I've ever had. Also the most beautiful asparagus on the shelf every time. A little pricier, but if you want better quality you're going to pay for it. There's a microchip shortage, after all.
Steven Le: Amazing experience every time. I choose Savenor’s because the butchers are always so thoughtful and knowledgeable. I began my journey of cooking more elevated dishes this year, and because of a specialty butcher like Savenor’s I was able to find access to cuts of meat not offered at regular grocery stores. If you need a good reason to try Savenor’s hear this; I called tonight to see if they had duck legs left and when hearing about the dish I was planning they said,”Oh you’re the one who was doing the ramen broth right?”. This was in fact true, two months ago and they still remembered me. Beyond knowledge and quality product, the butchers connect as much as they can to their clientele and that means the world to me.
Craig Mullins: Yum
Freddie: I will say it is a tad bit expensive but worth every penny. These butcher's are pros! They have plenty of excellent options pre-cut, but for example if you want a ribeye or NY strip or wagyu cut to your precious preference they will happily cut (and trim) any cut you like! They also have a great selection of local veggies and herbs as well as imported goods. It's a small local store, you will NOT find anything USDA Choice here, prime + only! Also their sausage and Irish bangers and the best I've had in the city!
Jake Cohen: Closed all day Sunday 🤔🤔
G A: A great high quality butcher shop with a knowledgeable staff. There is a wide variety of frozen exotic meats available. There are cheeses and bread for sale. I haven’t found the best produce there and some of the wares like crackers are quite expensive, but Savenor’s is definitely worth a visit. The ducks legs, sausage, and pork fat we got for cassoulet was all top tier.
Skyler Wallace: For a small shop, they have an amazing selection of meat. They have a small produce and cheese selection as well, but the star is definitely the meat. I ended up grabbing a ham sandwich, which was very good. They use high quality ingredients that make the price woth it. Definitely check it out if you are in the area, I'm definitely going back to grab some wagu beef.
John Doyle: Very helpful staff, coupled with excellent produce!
Rafael Marinez: This store is awesome. Very extensive stock . Some many items for every one.
Angeliquc Smith: The market is convenient but the cashier is very rude doesn't know how to deal with people in a polite manner. Why does she even need to operate the cash register if she doesn't like people or should I say "certain people"? I thought it just may have been once or twice but every experience has been awful because of that cashier.
Mrs G: Their homemade Friday Fried Chicken is hands down the best I have ever eaten - it was bone licken' good!
Nicole Wood: It's open now! Only 4 customers at a time
KING FOR a DAY: Expensive but worth it

Halal Meat & Groceries: what do users think?
Soumendra Nanda: Has a nice selection of frozen items like sheek kebabs and probably the only place in the Burlington area where you can get fresh goat meat. The owner is friendly and will help you find everything you need.
Irfan Kamthewala: Very good
Muhammad Jawad Khan: Good place to shop south asian stuff
Aqeel Salem: للباحثين عن اللحوم الطازجة و الحلال
Mehvish Khan: cockroaches
Laxman PDK: Good place for goat meat lovers.
Ne Agha: Go there for Indo Pak grocery. Good quality and quantity available.
Finney George: Pathetic customer service, but good goat meat. Need to go in with a pinch of salt, buy and get out.
Hadeel Al-Faouri: Very high meat prices, they post one price and charge higher price. They change prices according to their mood.
Ahmed Darweesh: Very clean, nice great coustmer services, good quality, fresh food and super friendly.
Sarfraz Ahmad: Excellent service and all variety of Pakistani, Indian and Arabic spices. Also they sell good quality halal meat.
mani mathew: Worst place. For meat, they post one price and charge higher price. All items are overpriced. Cheats.
Sathwik Mohan Vangari: Good for groceries. Great place for Halal meat. Especially Goat.
Farokh Karani: Great place for Indian foods, meats and fish. Larger and more organized than other smaller ones.
AL Mutebi: Lots of African-like Foods and Fish.
Josh: Horrible service and the meat purchased was subpar. I bought 8 pounds of goat shoulder, only to find that more than three-fourths comprised of bones. If you must buy from here, ensure to check your meat thoroughly before you leave. Anything less than total vigilance will result in you being swindled.
Rachel: I bought goat meat from this place yesterday. I asked the butcher to give me shoulder meat on getting home I checked the meat and it was 80% bones! Are they charging 9$ per pound to sell bones! Such cheats!
atul bharmal: Good place for Indian and other grocery items
Nashwa Mansoor: Try their kababs. They’re pretty good
KADDU HENRY: It got a variety of nutrient stuff
Roja Rani: Good place for indian grocery and reasonable prices tooo
