St. Paul's Choir School: what do users think?
Sarah Donahue: Our son has thrived in an environment where his talents and contributions are taken seriously. He has a close bond with his peers because of the hard work they have put in together to make beautiful music. No meaningless participation medals here!
Michael Smith: Our son has been at St. Paul’s for two years. He has been happy and engaged since the first day and has made great academic progress. The classes are small, allowing for almost individualized instruction. Being all boys allows the faculty to tailor the curriculum to boys’ learning style. The music is not just about the music. It is a vehicle for stretching their brains, for learning how to collaborate, for developing time management skills, and for experiencing the pride that comes with authentic achievement (the singing in church and concerts is quite beautiful).I should note that St. Paul’s requires a significant time commitment from families. The day is longer than the normal school day. The Choir sings in church almost every Sunday, and sometimes at Thursday night Vespers. During Christmas and spring concert seasons, there can be rehearsals on Saturdays. That is all by design-- the boys get so much out of being a Chorister because they put so much into it.We are neither Catholic nor particularly musical, but have never second-guessed our decision to send our son to St. Paul’s. It has strong academics and a close community with many wonderful traditions. Our son has thrived since we enrolled him there.
Mariana Fontoura: Our son has the best experience he could have as a chorister in an all-boys school. He loves his school, as we do, and feels part of this lovely community; not counting the rigorous academics they offer and the strong catholic values. We could not make the best choice for him!
Kate Shanks: Our son joined SPCS in seventh grade and it has been a great experience. It's a wonderful, very welcoming community. The small class sizes also allow for a lot of flexibility and his teachers are able to adapt classwork to meet students where they are, which was important because he had never taken Latin or Rhetoric before. As a result he's progressed quickly--his standardized math tests reflected a three year leap in math skills after his first year. I only wish we'd found this school earlier!
Kara Clark: Our family is so grateful for the above-and-beyond dedication of the faculty, administration and community at Saint Paul's Choir School. In addition to rigorous academics, our son is receiving an unmatched musical and religious education. He loves his school, his teachers, and his friendships at SPCS.
D Michael Easton: I just watched Saint Paul's choir Christmas show really fantastic thank you guys thank you director
Michael Kiflemariam: As the result of the dedication of the teachers and St. Choir School community, my son received an outstanding academic experience which eventually led to an acceptance by one of the top private schools. For those who can afford private school and willing to commit to the academic rigor and demanding schedule, St. Paul Choir School of Harvard Square is highly recommended.
R. R.: St. Paul's Choir School in Harvard Square is a wonderful school. The school has grades 3-8. The academics are impressive with test scores off the charts! And the students are more than well prepared for high school. This Catholic school also teaches not only the Catholic faith, but also the Catholic traditional and moral beliefs. The faculty and staff are also practicing Catholics. In addition to the academics, the boys sing, and they sing amazingly well. They are trained to sing professionally and perform around the world. The boys sing at daily mass and on Sundays, as well as Vespers, during the academic year. The boys also have a number of concerts during the school year. The Christmas concerts are spectacular! It's so nice to have such a wonderful school right in Harvard Square! I love being part of the St. Paul's Choir School community!
Marie MacNeil: Fantastic school with caring and dedicated teachers! It offers an outstanding academic and musical curriculum with strong moral Catholic traditions. It's the best decision we ever made to send our son there!
Luise Charlotte Petzold: Nice and small school! By the way the only boys Choir School in the US!
Eric Albright: Since 1963, the Boston Archdiocesan Choir School has formed and educated boys in grades four through eight in the rich music tradition of the Roman Catholic Church. The Choir School seeks to embrace the great cathedral school tradition as it unites a rigorous musical and academic curriculum with our Catholic faith and moral tradition preparing each student to grow and flourish in a dynamic and changing world.- Rev. Michael E. DreaPastor, St. Paul Parish
