Moëca: what do users think?
Proddy Sukcharoen: Been craving a lot of contemporary dishes lately, so I decided to try a uinque and modern seafood tapas place in Cambridge: Moëca. If you are familiar with the Italian restaurant Giulia, this is their sister property! Though the small plates may seem pricey, I can assure you that the quality and visual presentation of the each dish is phenomenal. A splash of ever-changing flavor profiles as you go through the guest dining journey makes the experience very memorable. The service time was slightly long considering the portions of certain dishes, but our server was amazing!! Ambience is a 10/10. Lovely interior designs and seatings. Here are some hilights of the evening:🦄Unicorn Oysters: rhubarb granita, dried lemon🐟Hiramasa: pear, radish, white soy, green onion🐚Maine Mussels: hazelnut, vadouvan, lime🐙Octopus: rhubarb mojo, citrus, coriander🥞Chickpea Pancake: wild onion, anchovy butter Maine Lobster Spaghetti: coral butter, fermented chilli, shiso🗡️Swordfish: tom yum, cucumber, wild onion💨Smoked Vanilla Mascarpone Gelato: spicy caramel🥛Milk Chocolate Mousse: sesame shortbread, strawberry, yuzu sorbet🍷Specialty beverages🍹
Mark Versavel: Very creatieve sea food and fish cuisineFood: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Sam Stern: Great seafood and some subtle steals from Giulia mean the pasta dishes are amazing
Ignacio Perez: Great place for modern complex and delicious seafood dishes in a relaxed atmosphere. Great cocktails too
Catrina Wang: The presentation was polished, but the food itself was mediocre. The fish ended up causing some stomach upset, so I wonder about their food sourcing practices.

Marc Hamilton: Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5More
Bernie Pucker: Had expected much more but was not thrilled. Very specific menu and items on website not available limited our choice. Noisy. Giulia is still the standard. Also miss BenedettoFood: 3/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 3/5 …More
Stuart Layton: Overall it was a fine night but we were expecting a lot more for the “new best restaurant in Boston”The highlights were the carrot fritters, the octopus, and the grilled muscles. The other dishes were just okay. Also the wait staff seemed either very distracted and disinterested. We got a reservation and mentioned it was a 40th birthday. The hostess called to confirm the reservation and mentioned the note was on the reservation, and said they’d do something special. The wait staff didn’t mention this and when we casually brought it up they said “oh we can bring you a candle in any desert you order”.The entire thing felt very weird.
Barret Pfeiffer: Simply Sublime. A fantastic experience, beautiful interior, wonderful staff, and undeniably delicious food. Well done, Moeca!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Shanti Yoga Hopkinton: We are longtime fans of Giulia and have been there many times, so we were very excited to try their sister restaurant, Moeca. We had dinner in this beautiful space last night, for my birthday. It was sensational. The concept here is shared plates, mostly seafood, incredibly fresh and expertly prepared. Chef Pagliarini has done it again! We started with the Unicorn Oysters, which were topped with a celery granita....we each had two, but I could've easily taken down a dozen. Next we had the tuna crudo, which was so delicious, we wouldn't let the server take out plate--we ordered the sourdough to sop up the savory chili vinaigrette that remained! We also devoured the octopus, squash agnolotti and steamed green crab custard. Lastly, we shared the Lobster Spaghetti, which was incredible. For dessert, the Lemon Bomb with pistachio ice cream. Drinks were lovely. Service was attentive without feeling intrusive. All in all, a truly wonderful experience.I will say, be prepared to spend here. We (two of us) each had a cocktail, split a bottle of wine (the least expensive on the menu,) had 6 small plates, shared an entree and shared a dessert and the total came to $286, before tip. Definitely a special occasion spot for us, but we will be back!
Zoe Reddig: Incredible all around. Service was superb- bartenders John and Josh were attentive, knowledgeable, and fun to be with! Cocktail selections were elegant and eclectic. Food was diverse, unique, and balanced in every way. Can’t wait to be back!
Scott Burson: A really nice addition to the Cambridge restaurant scene. Food was very tasty, and gorgeous to look at.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
anthony valluzzi: Nice place if you like seafoodFood: 4/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 4/5 …More
Jea Kim: Operating under the team behind Giulia, Moëca is a great place to enjoy inventive seafood dishes in an intimate atmosphere.Recently took a visit to check out the hype around this new place. Due to their frequent changes in the menu, I wasn’t able to find some of the dishes that I wanted to try. Nevertheless, most of the dishes we ordered were fantastic, and the creativity exhibited in Giulia was seen on some of the plates. The unicorn oysters were great introductions to our meal. Taking a bite of the oysters topped with yuzu granita was a sheer bliss as the briny taste of the oysters was elevated with a mildly sweet flavor from the yuzu. Green crab custard was also one of my favorites. Although small, the custard was packed with crab fat and was extremely flavorful. Smelts and chips seemed like fish and chips with a creative twist, and this was low-key the most addictive dish of the meal. The only dish that I had gripes with was the charred cabbage that was overly salty. From the large plates, we tried the monkfish and the lobster spaghetti. I’m usually not a huge fan of monkfish, but their execution of grilled monkfish was fairly good. Sweet potato purée and crispy kale were good complements to the fish. Lobster spaghetti reminded of the one I tried in Judy’s bay. The perilla leaf toppings were perfect additions to the slightly acidic shiso sauce with a subtle lobster flavor. For desserts, we chose a scoop of smoked vanilla mascarpone gelato which was phenomenal. Spicy caramel popcorn toppings were interesting and its pleasant spice level put a great finish to our meal.Parking: Paid street parking on Mass Ave
don renelt: Wow, the meal here was absolutely incredible! Perfect service, wine pairings and every single bite. Would be a 10 if it was available
Jen Radden: Disappointing! Love the space but nothing else. Possible we ordered wrong but portions were really small. the balck cod was served undercooked. left starving..the appetizers were so so for the price.

Kathy Martin (wkathym): We have always loved coming here. But tonight I had a lobster roll, and halfway through, there was an ammonia flavor. Two chunks tasted of this. Eeeew! This was a $45 lobster roll (served warm). I was very surprised and very disappointed. This place has a wonderful reputation. They are known for their seafood. So, I am not sure what happened. The service, however, was stellar. I will probably come back, but will be on my guard.

Mister Mister: My family enjoyed this iconic place as we have eaten here 3 times in the past 10 years when we visit Boston. Service was excellent, manager friendly (showed my adolescent boys the large lobsters) and fun atmosphere. So why the low rating? My shrimp were woefully overcooked, rubbery and inedible...how can that happen at a place that specializes in seafood? The scallops were also overcooked, but not as bad. However, they were gritty. The food highlight were the brussel sprouts and my son's swordfish.
michael hernandez: These guys went above and beyond for me this past Sunday at there drag brunch event. Ruben, the manager showed excellent, over the top hospitality and made a odd special request happen for me by adding a drink name for my partner on the brunch menu. In addition to that, they spoke with the drag show artist for a special shout out and presented the cake I had got for her with the entire room singing to just her.( I felt bad for the other lady's who were also celebrating a birthday) our server was also really good and attentive making sure we had our drinks right out and she had a large amount of covers with a lot going on! The menu was small but perfect for brunch and executed perfectly and so fast I thought the runner was at the wrong table. I highly recommend this place to anyone that needs a venue for a larger party or just a date. To everyone that was there on Sunday I am sincerely grateful. You made a special woman's entire day and made me look like I'm a catch 😂 Cheers to Ruben and staff. Hospitality like that is hard to find now aways.

Scott Bloom: Paid $34 for grilled shrimp and scallops. Potatoes came out pretty raw and shrimp was way over cooked. Had a greasy calamari that was…well….greasy. I’ve been here before and won’t ever come back. Place has always been overhyped and underperformed but this was the worst. Told the waitress and she literally asked me what do you want me to do and brought me a side dish of mashed.

Adin Palencia: Overpriced and dry.
Samantha Wolfe: This place is a GEM! Smoked wings were amazing. Great cocktails and chili (with brisket and no beans)! Yummy mac n cheese and cheesy grits. Loved the atmosphere and excellent MUSIC!
Neil Ramsey: Everything about the meal was great. The hush puppy appetizer with dipping sauce yum, St Louis ribs with different bbq sauces fantastic. And French Beignets with Chocolate sauce was heavenly. The service was a little slow but any one who has been to southern cities such as, New Orleans, Savana, Charlotte. Khow that's how they enjoy a meal not rushed. I'll definitely recommend them and plan to go back again.
Esther Laguerre: This place has great service in terms of nice staff, good feels but the food is very bland. The chicken sandwiches had maybe only salt and drenched in sauce which did not help with flavoring. The best thing I had there where the beignets and my drink. The live music was nice for a bit however it was too loud so very hard to have conversations.Would I come back no but if you need a place for good drinks and dessert why not.
Rodolfo Archbold: I had the Texas Brisket. The meat was moist and average flavor. But the sides not so good, cole slaw and fries. My wife had corn bread with her meal I tasted it, was awful. The music was loud and impossible to have a conversation. Acoustic need work. The food is served on s plate line with looks like paper bag paper. Invariable we end up eating paper because of the sauce on the dishes. We asked our server about this and we did not gret a satisfactory answer. Eating paper was NOT PART of dinning out. This is s terrible idea Service was friendly. The concept might have promise but need work. Sadly our first and last visit 😞
Dan Arsenault: Service was the worst ever! Apps came right out. Fries were frozen crinkle cut and hardly cooked. Brisket nachos had hard dried out bits of mystery meat. We piled our app plates and empty beer bottles at the edge of the table, and they sat for 45 minutes. Waitress never came back. When they realized we were leaving, the bill came right over. It was not crowded. The music was the only aspect of the night that was OK.We will never go back, ever!
Kevin Dao: Honestly, a pretty disappointing experience. We ordered a combo plate with the pulled pork and the St. Louis ribs, as well as the Buttermilk Biscuits. I know reviewers say the portions are generous, but to be honest, they didn't really seem that generous. The pulled pork was good, as many other reviews have said, and so was the mac and cheese! But the biscuits were so ridiculously dry that we didn't end up finishing them. The St. Louis ribs were also hard to eat, because it tasted like they were crusted heavily with charcoal and ash. I know they're smoked, but I feel like I chewed on solid charcoal pebbles which had a very offensive and overpowering smell/taste. I had to peel off the outer layer of the rib to get to a part that tasted okay. The live music was really loud as well, and it kind of made this whole experience even worse. The receipt also required a 3% kitchen appreciation fee, and the digital tips started at 20%, which resulted in a bill that really didn't feel worth it.
Alan Meyerson: Really awesome southern restaurantRecommended dishes Mac & Cheese, Texas Brisket …More
Linda Brogna: My favorite thing about the Porch is the special musical guests that perform. The food is ok (nothing to write home about), limited food and drink menu.Dine in: Yes Outdoor seating: Yes …More

From terrific local artists we have follow for years, to exceptional service AND , simply great southern food , The Porch does it perfectly :)We will be back fo sure :)Well dont on te food , hospitality and booking excellent artist
Alison Cassidy: Too bad the menu choices are so limited and the food isn't great. Otherwise this place would be more of a hit. The biscuits were so dry we couldn't even eat them the chicken is overcooked and a bit salty. I this the best thing were the fries with cheese sauce and baconFood: 2/5|Service: 3/5|Atmosphere: 4/5 …More
Thomas Tran: This is my favorite place when I'm craving Nashville Hot Chicken. The portions are generous and the plate comes with two sides. There is parking in the garage with limited street parking. Service can be a little slow. There's a stage for live music that adds to a fun atmosphere.Food: 5/5|Service: 3/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Nashville Hot Chicken …More
Craig Sanford: Medium fare and small portions for the price. Texas brisket was fatty and sides were mediocre. Thought collards were cooked wrong and bitter but Mac and cheese was good comfort food. Thought the table would have basket of cornbread or Pons and or mini hush puppies as a starterFood: 3/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 4/5 …More
Natasha Slade: Great atmosphere on a Sunday, live blues music with open mic and free pool and great food, service is fast and friendly.
Erik: Visiting from Houston, this place was AWESOME.When I'm trying a BBQ option, I usually judge on brisket, mac, and collards. The Porch crushed it on all metrics. Fried chicken is also worth a strong mention.Serving sizes are large, so you really get your money's worth.Service was great, as was the live music/vibe.Ya'll hit it out of the parkVegetarian options: BBQ Jackfruit
John Candy: We were told by a bunch of different friends that we had to go here. To be honest I wish we hadn't. There was two of us for dinner. We started with hush puppies which werent filled with much flavor. She had the brisket tray and I had the pulled pork tray. Both meats were dried out. Green beans were inedible. Way too much smoke on the veg. Collard greens were decent enough. Mac N Cheese was pretty basic. Service was pretty spotty as well. Unfortunately there aren't great bbq restaurants in the area. Closest and best BBQ is Orenells in Kittery,Me.
Jay Sekora: The fried chicken was extremely good, perfectly crispy breading and tender, flavorful chicken! My brisket was good, but fatty. (The outside layer was like crispy bacon — delicious!) We enjoyed the ambiance and look forward to coming back sometime when there's live music!
