Insomnia Cookies: what do users think?
Marcus A: Was craving some hot baked cookies so I came by to the Harvard Sq location. I had just got off work in the Beacon Hill area and drove from work. Laila was behind the register counter. I decided to go with the Super 6 (five cookies & one deluxe cookie. I went with 2 Oatmeal Raisin, 1 Peanut butter chip cookie, 2 chocolate chunk cookie and a deluxe salted caramel cookie. The choc chip cookie was good crunch on the outside moist on the inside taste was good and the peanut butter chip cookie was moist all around but fell apart?! The salted caramel cookie was hard and over cooked I didn’t eat it, and I got a strawberry milk. The oatmeal raisin cookie was just ok. I’m not coming back to this location something funny going on here? Why did Laila list on my receipt purchase Classic with M&M'S, Double Chocolate Mint, Double Chocolate Chunk, Snickerdoodle, (I DID’NT ORDER?) the Proof is in picture I took of my order.
Analise DeBaie: Ordered at 945p, the order showed up at 1:35a.
brittany rourke: Best location in Boston by far !! Manager and workers are super sweet and professional . Clean store and they actually still have everything left at 9pm as the other Cambridge store apparently never does (commonwealth Ave store ) says they have nothing left at 9 pm . And this stores cookies are ALWAYS WARM AND FRESH !!
Jaye Aster Broder: It’s like any other Insomnia Cookies. It’s open late. You can get ice cream sandwiches here. It’s not crowded in the afternoon.
Alexandria Berry: Shorted us a cookie and one had a bite taken out of it?? Not to mention it took three hours to get our delivery. And the cookies weren’t the ones we ordered. When we called they told us our order was on the way and hung up. The staff here always have the worst attitudes. I usually go in person but can’t believe how unbelievably bad the delivery was haha yikes.
Shaellen Mavor: Absolutely horrible, I ordered cookies at 804 1000 still nothing called the store around 915 and they said they were already on the way. Tried to just cancel the order but the store said it wasn’t possible because the cookies were already sent out. I asked them how they knew what the order was when no information was given, they said caller I’d 🙄. Call corporate customer service to get it cancel they are actually helpful. I would leave no stars if possible
Zineb Cherifi: Horrible service! I would definitely not come back as one of the worker literally was screaming at me. Maybe the owner should consider changing the staff at Harvard Square she was horrible. I would definitely not recommend this place to anyone
Adelaide Vazzana: I thought this place was overrated when I first came to Cambridge, but I soon realized that their cookies are indeed beyond excellent. Imagine a well-baked homemade cookie. That is what you will get here: not any of that undercooked "gourmet" nonsense by Levain or even Crumbl. They have ice cream, too, that is equally good. Their customer service is good, and their subscription service is a great deal.I highly recommend this place, and I do not give out 5 star reviews lightly, so please give Insomnia a try!
cat: Don’t know how they stand here for so many years and opened more locations, they are so overrated. Mediocre cookies, don’t think it’s worthy for the quality.
Jacob Anderson: Good cookies but overpriced and a 0-5 delivery score. Awful service
George E: FIRE YOUR DRIVER OR TRAIN THEM RIGHT!!! DIDNT FOLLOW ANY DELIVERY INSTRUCTIONS, DIDNT CALL OR NOTIFY OF DELIVERY SO THEY SAT IN THE COLD FOR A LONG TIME, DID NOT DELIVER ALL ITEMS. IF YOUR "BRAND" IS BUILT AROUND YOUR SPIFFY DELIVERY SERVICE YOU SHOULD BE GETTING IT RIGHT
Shane Sessions: Awful experience. Ordered delivery, cookies never arrived. Called the store an hour after ordering and they said they had "issues with the cookies" but that they were on their way. Got a notification 20min later that they were delivered, but there were no cookies in sight. Called again and they just kept repeating that the driver said they were delivered. They finally said they would check again with their driver once they got back to the store and they would call me back. 20min later (1hr 40min from placing order) had not received a call back so I called them and they just repeated that the "driver said they were delivered." I asked for a refund, which I'm still not sure got processed. Never got the order. Terrible service.
Ramfis Brito: Awesome service
Mary Lou Notaro: The outside of the cookies were hard. The whole cookie is supposed to be soft and my cookies weren't that warm. I won't be going back for these subpar cookies. I can make better cookies. I went to the Cambridge location.
Erinn Pearson: Love these cookies, they never disappoint. They are always warm and they always taste good. This place also will curb your sweet tooth. The gentleman with the deep voice, his customer service is amazing
Yihe Peng: The best cookie ever! The guy is super nice!! Sharing is caring!
ANKANA DAS: very bad experience. Went for dessert and they don’t have spoon, even the box where the packed the brownie and ice cream wasn’t closing. I wonder why they open restaurants if they don’t know how to serve customers. And the ice cream was just average. Don’t visit.
Thomas Frost: Hardest process to get the freaking cookies delivered. Rude employees, can’t understand their business model of delivering cookies but actually never delivering them until you cancel your order but not provide a refund. Waste of time
April W: The WORST customer service ever! There were 5 ppl “working” there basically doing nothing. They gave us weird stares, were extremely rude, gave us cold cookies, and talked about us amongst themselves in front of us. Very unprofessional. Would never return! Gave the brand a bad impression. Definitely AVOID this place!!!
Amy Depaz: I take my parents to this place because I heard of how warm and soft these cookies are. This girl who I don’t remember her name gave my dad and I hard cookies…. When other people went after us they were eating their cookies outside so we asked how their cookies were. They told us they were soft and warm. So I immediately went back to tell the girl to change my cookie to a warm one. She did but she knew what she did in the beginning and i dont know what made her think to serve a hard rock cookie knowing insomnia is known for their warm cookies.
APOORVA KUKDE: Unique taste and styleOpen till 3am, must try !

Milk Bar Harvard Square: what do users think?
Kayla Zimmerman: So disappointed that they closed because employees unionized.
Cas: Closed forever since employees unionized
Anjelica Bullen: Ehhh, we went on the last day as it will be closing (we didn’t know that) we also went cause my daughter started watching “bake squad” and after watching many episodes I was really hoping for much more! It’s a large place with literally only 25% of the place used. And no it’s not cause they were closing it was like this 5 months ago. Which I don’t understand as it’s very crowded and barely any room for a line to form or sit. I do understand they were limited on items due to closing but I asked for an item which was not crossed out and they couldn’t make it cause they didn’t have the correct cups, however they could have used the drinking cups oppose to their typically fancy ones but whatever. I was really hoping the food to be better but it sadly was just way to sweet and heavy.
Chris Rillahan: This was one of the most disappointing culinary experiences of my life. The shop was not well kept. All the food is pre-made in disposable plastic containers, looking like they were made in a factory far away. The food tasted like sugar and vanilla. Not special. Save your money, go to a real bakery.
Joey Bramanti: Was very disappointed with the ice cream. Had a sort of sour taste to it… almost like rotten milk. I had high expectations.
Eric Song: Pretty mediocre milk/cream dessert place. The milk shakes were overly sweet and didnt carry a lot of flavor.
Jennifer Miller: Friendly, helpful, fun place!
Margaux O'Connor: Staff was extremely helpful both on the phone beforehand and in person. I had a bit of a drive ahead of me, but wanted to take a couple pints of ice cream to try. They didn’t have freezer bags, but the two employees up front took the time to get cups of ice with lids and triple bag the pints to keep them cold for me! Desserts are pricey, but worth it! So happy we have a Boston location.
Van Darkholme: The soft serve tastes pretty chemical.
Jenny Ng: Sadly very disappointing
Alexandra Orovitz: The worst dessert I’ve ever had in my life . Completely ruined my day and left a terrible taste in my mouth. Also they couldn’t even get the order right and received incorrect item. Actually unsure how this place is popular or stays in business.
Matthew Beckwith: If sickly sweet and day old cereal milk is your thing, you might like it. Personally, I just want to rinse the flavor out of my mouth. It might meet the mark of low quality airport food
Jared: Rude staff. Way overpriced. Dont go
Alana SL: The female workers last night were really rude, just for that will not return
Mari: Chocolate shake is the best. Overpriced though.
Jaye Aster Broder: The space is nice for sitting once you get your food/drink. We had the cereal milk soft serve ice cream. It was very over priced at 7 dollars for a small without toppings. It tasted like cereal milk, which you either like or you don’t. The fruity pebbles might be better.
Ellen Sciales: I love milk bar!! Pricey but the cereal milk ice cream with cereal toppings is so crunchy and salty and delicious! The cookies are good too but especially if you warm them up. I’ve been to the NYC Milk Bar and it’s the same stuff here.
Essie Anawalt: I stopped in tonight to pick up a birthday treat for myself. It was my first time in, and the young woman was soooo incredibly patient and helpful. I was indecisive and her response to that was perfect. I was all smiles when I left, and I’d absolutely return just for that reason alone. My only regret is not getting her name. She deserves a call out for being such a lovely human being.
Evelyn Marie Gonzalez: Milk bar has one of my favorite soft-serve ice creams out there! They also have incredible pies, shakes, and delicious cookies (corn cookie is the best!). The space is a bit small, and the line formation can get a bit odd because of space, but it’s definitely worth the wait!
Dov Aronson: I had an amazing experience at the Milk Bar Harvard Square location! All of the staff was very kind and friendly, and also provided great recommendations. Amazing customer service. I ended up getting the “Greatest Hits” combo which is a great deal (compost cookie, Bday truffles, slice of Milk Bar pie, and cereal milk soft serve with cornflake topping). The soft serve flavour was unique in the best way possible, nothing I’ve ever had before, and the cornflake topping added a nice crunch, richness, and a bit of saltiness too. It tastes exactly like a bowl of cereal! The Milk Bar pie was also very gooey and sweet, as promised on the website. The truffles and compost cookie were delicious as well. Highly recommend to anyone in the area!
Tyler zhang: A little sweet, and space at counter was a bit tight

Hi-Rise Bread Company: what do users think?
James Holland: The food was ok but way overpriced. Personally I don’t like buying a breakfast sandwich for 10 bucks (for nothing special) and a loaf of bread for 7-9 dollars (depending on what you get). Like I said the food is good, but you can find same quality, if not better, for cheaper in the area. If they knocked the price down I would bring the rating up; price is really the only bad thing here.
Waseem Kawaf: Love this neighborhood spot. Great for a coffee and mini egg sandwich
Tekie Anday: Great local bakery and snack place.
serena kay: Was in the area for work and stopped in for lunch. I am not usually a sandwich person but I tried one of the veggie sandwiches that had goat cheese and sweet potato. Was SO good. I bought a baguette for home. They also had a great selection of wine and bakery items looked amazing. Staff was super friendly. I will be back. :)
Yiannis Karaziakos: Coffee is good. Food menu is fantastic. It’s a little expensive compared to other cafes, but its open much later - so there’s no better spot for a good coffee after 3pm.
Nakul Kadaba: Lovely little bakery in west Cambridge on the way to alewife. Came in for a quick coffee and snack and loved the selection of sandwiches, breads, and the wine/champagne on offer. Seemed very busy for a Tuesday afternoon, which made our time there fun. Hope to come back again soon !
pranitha r: The quality of the in house bread is great but the edges are so hard to a point where it hurts when chewed.
Kelly Hassett: Delicious! Mostly local produce used for their sandwiches, devine drinks. I love that they also floral arrangements from local businesses too. Dessert is decedent, I strongly recommend a coffee and a dessert.
Masha Y: come here for the bread, not the coffee. They have lots of sandwiches.
Lisa D: The sandwiches are unmatched. Incredible flavors, fresh ingredients, so delicious.Amazing pastries and breads. Wonderful teas.If I could give them ten stars, I would.
Janna Lowensohn: Heads up: no wifi. But the vibe is still wonderful.
Nitzan Achsaf: The “Counter Choice” . Best breakfast sandwich in Boston 😀
S lee: It is good to have this bakery in the area. I thought the variety and quality of baked goods were fine but not great.
Laurie Singletary: Excellent bakery!
Keith Hansen: Wish we had read the reviews before coming in. Rude and incompetent staff. We were told about 10 minutes for our order. After 25 and dealing with a very aloof employee, we sat down to flavorless sandwiches. I’m sure what was once a beautiful piece of bread was toasted to death. If you love tearing your mouth apart while eating, this may be the place for you. $16 for a sandwich in general is slightly exorbitant and especially so for what you get here. Will absolutely not be returning. One star for the lemonade.
J JMGH: This place used to be great, unfortunately, they just stopped caring. Don't waste your time (took a long time to make a simple sandwich) and your money (its expensive for a simple sandwich).
Xander Saleh: Been coming here since the 90s how time flies.
Larry L Sr.: Many items are made from scratch on site, no wonder they are so yummy and fresh!
Jerome Weiner: No compromise when it comes to flavor and texture. Highest praise for baguette and Huron
Taylor Hayward: The staff never fails to be uptight and unfriendly. I would give them three stars because their bread is good but La Saison right down the street is way better. Better bread, better people. Just go there.
Giorgos Mamakoukas: This place is GREAT! Already one of my favorites in the area.Food: best sandwich I’ve had in a very long time. I had the “Luke rocks the free world” sandwich and it would melt in my mouth.

Mike's Pastry: what do users think?
Isaac Alejandro Padilla: The Amaretto one is so good!
Kat Z: Cream puffs! Yum!
Kelly Green: A Boston tradition!! A trip to the North End or Harvard Square is simply incomplete without a cannoli from Mike’s!
Henry Dera: Offers a wide selection of fresh cannollis and other pastries with very pleasant service. The place is usually busy, but worth the wait. The cannollis are really good and you'll find people all over Cambridge and Boston walking around carrying the iconic Mike's pastry box tied with ribbon. There is a reason why. We've tried about 25% of the menu and all options have been good so far. I keep coming back to the chocolate dip as a favorite but the others offer some good flavors too.
David Mawson: Lobster tails are sooo good
Katrin Shikova: The lobster tails are to die for.
Margaux Ilyse Krembs Epter: Everything was delicious! i had the pecan caramel cannoli and it blew all of my expectations out of the water! Quite crowded but that is expected for an amazing bakery!
Lucas: Lobster tail was staleTastes like it was made yesterdayGreat bakery for day old pastries!
Hassan Chehab: Got the raspberry roll. Very good
Nicholas DiMuzio: The best!
Ezgi Alanlar: The older guy in the store was extremely insolent. He needs to be trained how to communicate with the customers!
Sam Liu: Good cannoli. Excellent ricotta pie.
James Chan: Pretty decent cannoli’s although slightly thick and rich for my taste it’s actually good to give it a try.
Hyejin Hwang: Maybe my expectation was so high given the reputation of Mike’s Pastry.. but I found their pastries are not that special. Not bad but I am not sure it worth traveling.
Anh Nguyen: The cannoli is pricy in my opinion it’s 5.5 for one, and the hazelnut was not good enough for the amount we paid. However, the oreo cheesecake tasted good, you should try this but don’t expect too much
Michael and Steve: Oh my God! You will never believe all the different kinds of Italian pastries!A bit pricey, but well worth the trip to Harvard Square in Cambridge Mass.
Richard: Best Italian Deserts
seb hcd: Super !Excellent accueil malgré de nombreux clients dans l’établissement.Une serveuse sympa, me choisissant la meilleure part de pâtisserie...miam !
Heather & Larry M: A staple Italian bakery in the North End, with additional locations around the city
Asmita Basnet: The lady working on Monday morning was rude.
Steve Rainville: Been to Mike's Pastry a few times over the years, but this was my first time at the Cambridge location. Service was quick, and the service friendly. I was a bit disappointed by the Tiramisu though, as it was a little too dense for me.

Royal Pastry Shop: what do users think?
Cambria Russell: The staff are kind and happy to answer questions. Lots of yummy options!
Celeste De Palma: Secretly holds some of the best cannoli in town. Dare I say, it comes second to Modern's? Yup! Modern's Royal's Bova's Mike's.Oh, but this little bakery has THE BEST Boston creme pie of all of Greater Boston. Unparalleled, hands down. This is one of my all time favorite pastries shop. Another neighborhood gem 💎 ✨️ 👌
George Moore: Was walking by with my wife considering purchasing something but you can see a mouse running around on the floor behind the counter. Eww. Skip this place until they fix their health code issues.
Rosalie Lynne: We always get my mom a birthday cake here every year, and it's always great. Friendly service and wonderful pastries.
Gwen Sregnier: Yum yum cannot go here too often or you should.
Diane Bartholomew: I travel 30 minutes to get pastries from this place, and there are plenty of pastry shops where I live. Need I say more!
Tekie Anday: Good Italian pastry. The flavors are amazing as well. Few things they need to consider: the hours of operation need to be extended so that people can catch them after work hours. The menu needs to be flexible for customers to order their choice flavor at the size of their party. Some flavors aren't available unless you oder them bigger in a party of 35 people or over.
Ricky Sánchez (Ricky): Maintaining over the decades good quality and variety
Hayley Barber: I hate to say anything negative about a small, local business but I walk past this place often and, anytime they’re closed, this place is CRAWLING with mice. Please address this infestation for the safety and health of your devoted customers.
Paul Surette: I got two pastries and a soinach & cheese calzone. Was quite good. Small store which keeps prices down.
Simone R.: Amazing!
Joan Amaral: Royal Pastry has the best whipped cream cakes and Italian cookies. Haven't found any that compare to either of these.
Kelly M: They have the pizza, homemade like my aunt makes like our northern Italian family did. The sweet stuff is great, but they do the pizza RIGHT!
Gould Kathy: it was great
Ananda Mishra: Amazing food for the prices. Its a hidden gem in the neighborhood.
Harry Gordon: Excellent authentic Italian bakery with friendly service
Marcus Böick: Amazing cakes!
Jamie Goodin: Fresh. Very good
sonali srijan: Bought two birthday cakes, the black forest and the strawberry chocolate cake. Both were amazing! The bread wasn’t dry, cream seemed fresh, fruits and the jam between layers went very well overall with the cake. Also loved the fact that it wasn’t overwhelmingly sweet. Will definitely be my go to place for birthday cakes.
MsStingFan: Great pastries--this shop has been around forever!
Greg Keyser: Best Italian pastry in the Boston area, hands down.

Mariposa Bakery: what do users think?
Charlotte Darby: I love all the rotating scones and muffins from Mariposa. I’ve also gotten several Too Good to Go bags, which are always great value and I’m happy the bakery participates in the app! Veggie burger for lunch is also tasty - just plan for several minutes wait if ordering at the counter during lunch rush, but it’s worth it.
JP Shero: I tried their toasted bagel last year. I think it's made in house? It was fantastic. Great texture and chewiness.I also like some of their baked goods...which some or all (?) are made there. And glad to see they've expanded their hours and days from the limited days and hours from the early pandemic.
Torrick Kurdi: Delicious pastries, nice staff
Brian Kelly: Great sandwiches, pastries and coffee
George: Great food, great people. Especially good bread and mocha! Could use faster/more reliable wifi.Edit: Some interior has been refreshed along with a slightly modified menu and baked goods. However, still great atmosphere and super friendly staff.
Lydia Chew: I nabbed a "surprise bag" from this bakery off of Too Good to Go - this bag of 6 bagels/rolls was only $5! It was quick and easy to pick up after reserving and paying for the bag the day before on the app. The employees were friendly, and the bakery had quite a bit of business midday on a Saturday. The bagels weren't the freshest, which was to be expected since it's a "leftovers" bag. They were a bit hard, but still tasty after toasting and getting some spread to go on top! In particular, the pretzel rolls were absolutely delicious.
Priscila Drummond: Pretzel bun is amazing. Nice atmosphere.
Don Lao: Great coffee, specially cappuccino and latte, they are tasty! Milk and espresso in prefect balance!!!!!!!!!
Barbara Rodriguez: Strawberry sumac donut today was fantastic! Really!
Abigail Chouinard: Muffins here are delicious! Certainly a small and local gem in the city.
Reste B.: Good coffee.Friendly stuff. We waited 25 min for two bagels, which were a bit tasteless, no vegetables at all, only eggs and cheese, very dry.We also tasted a tomato soup which was delicious, but we would not come back for breakfast.
Celine Cuadra: I love this place, staff is so friendly, pretzel rolls are delicious, coffee drinks are great!
Bernard marmen: Very good scone. I love it.
Second Wind Group: I love the bagels, the sandwiches and cookies. Kind and thoughtful service.
Adam Friedman: It took 15 minutes for them to make a breakfast sandwich, and the guy at the front counter even totally forgot I had ordered that, I had to remind him. In general he seemed super antsy, which immediately put me off.
Yevgen Sysoyev: Breakfast & coffee place. Serve avocado toast, pastries and sandwiches
Ivanova Huerta: Excellent coffee. Lovely place and great staff
Omar Aly: Excellent customer service, a super cozy atmosphere, and great pretzels + muffins. You should absolutely stop there next time you're walking down Mass Ave.
Boryana Doyle: All the nice baked items in the photos are completely gone. They have tasteless bagels, scones, etc. The avocado toast uses flavorless cheap tomatoes and is on very thick bread. The hot chocolate tastes like a corner store packet mix was used.Edit in response to reply: there were no pretty cakes, pies, or donuts like the photos indicate this morning. If this is what you are looking for, be prepared to go elsewhere.
Maxim Imakaev: First, all the photos of the place are wrong. There are no colorful doughnuts here, and the pastry counter is no bigger than in a typical small café.The food was meh. It was a step away from a classical American breakfast sandwich (it was not oozing oil and molten cheese, and had some tomatoes), but it also lacked flavor that you find in many upscale cafes around. The bagel was a little stale, and the turkey sausage flavor was very off. The egg was small and overcooked. The coffee was OK, but the beans they use for espresso are not the best.
Johnny Lau: Great staff and delicious food. Their menu is always changing with new specials and the coffee has gotten even better over time. Someone definitely puts in effort to improve things. Only complaint is that the floors darken the vibe!

Whole Foods Market: what do users think?
Belkacemi Mourad: Good
L Zsolnay: It's not one of the best Whole Foods, but the location is great. It is a bit small and doesn't sell alcohol. The one on River street is a lot better.
Sayed Mousawi: Other than pricing . It's all good
Darline Green: Despite its location this store rocks! Produce super fresh with a huge variety. Always food to test throughout the store. The bakery is out of this world. The staff is educated and willing to help. Lots of parking.
Colin Marcus: I've been going to this Whole Foods for years and it has gone downhill in a big way since Amazon bought it. If any health inspectors are reading our reviews - please visit this location! The vegetables are very old. As in, you buy some strawberries at 8pm, put them in the fridge, and the next morning they have molded. I've had this exact scenario happen FREQUENTLY with: strawberries, raspberries, figs, blackberries, and even blueberries. They sometimes sell spoiled meat. Like, slimy meat that smells like death. I've had this happen to me several times in the past 1-2 years. It's especially a problem with uncooked sausages and ground beef. At this point, I only buy vacuum-sealed meat packages from their freezer section. In a nutshell, it seems that they are desperate to never throw anything away even if it is expired - they don't care at all about quality. Which, considering the sky-high prices, is really insulting to the customers. These are long-standing problems and you'll find other reviews where people report the same issues.EDIT - I showed this review to my mom and she said "yeah I bought spoiled meat as well".
ANITA VARMA: Doing good. Bringing awareness about the importance of Fresh food.
APL Restoration: Nice place
Helen Paul: Wonderful experience
Tom Oscar Bjørnstad: Godt utvalg av dagligvare.
Christopher Audette: Meat department is very good friendly staff
Magali Bertolazzi Vezzaro: Large choix de produits.Note finale aussi élevée que le nombre de produits de qualité.Tout a un prix.😉
Ngoc Tran: The mango cake was really nice. Wish they have small portion so I can feel less guilty :)
Luis Polanco: De todo un poco, bien!!
Dan M: Parking can be crowded but surprisingly never had an issue. It’s a small store but the staff is generally friendly and no lines except for rush hour. I’ve had great friendly interactions with the cheese department. Wouldn’t go out of my way here though.
Its all Within: Needed a refund on a $3 carton of Soy Milk which went bad after 3 days. They wanted a receipt, "store policy." Unlike Trader Joe's and Shaw's, which will do it for you in an instant, they just trust you. Whereas Whole Foods wasted my time and that of the sales person and the snarky store manager, who said that he considered this a good use of his time. I can see the US losing ground to China because of policies and people like this. I'm a 20+ year Cambridge resident.
Alexandra A.: Great selection for a small store. Decent produce, deli and mini hot bar. Some of the best self checkouts too. Not finicky like a lot of other stores.
Nelson Hernandez: Love the butcher's department. Great service.
Rob Phippen: Excellent food on offer, and helpful staff. I asked about what cream to get, and got a great recommendation for cream from a local organic source, which also happened to be cheaper than the big name brand.
Chans View bomh1029: Awesome store, the best mashed potatoes in the world. Great employees!
oren A: A bit expensive
