Fresh Pond Golf Course: what do users think?
James Rippy: Was it wonderful day, the weather was fine nature was beautiful...
Nicky R: Beautiful I wish to see more road races there.
Tim C: Best overall course in the area, for the views and value. Fantastic greens, and really well taken care of. Staff are more than fine- have never had a single issue; I know they can get worried about pace of play, but I don't blame them for trying to keep it moving. Just a really excellent place.
Mªeugenia Gonzalez Rivero: Reserva natural cerca de Boston.
rafinel castillo de leon: Beautiful
Eduards Tralmaks: The course is actually good with good greens BUT man the staff that works there is something else. I’m not talking about the guy at the pro shop but the starter and the old guy driving around looking to scream at someone for something. We parked with 2 wheels on the rough instead of all of the wheels being on the cartpath on accident and the old guy drives and screams while my friend is chipping. The starter is always mad about something and rushing everybody to hit their balls and get out of the way. I shanked my ball because of being rushed and he told me to let the group behind me go and I felt embarrassed. Also my score is 90 so I’m not a complete amateur. I would love to come back but while the same staff is there count me out.
Chris Lynch: Beware around hole 4 and 7! I got stung 4 times by some angry wasps, told the guy at the clubhouse and he said “he told groundskeepers to spray that a few days ago but I guess they haven’t gotten around to it.” Pretty bad look knowing you have a wasps nest in the middle of the course and not taking care of it immediately. Disappointing because it’s a nice course
Kate Haber: I was excited to enjoy a day of golf at Fresh Pond, a course I’ve played at before, but the day started off terribly. A female employee was positioned at the first hole and began verbally attacking my golf partner and me for being a few mins late to our tee time (despite the second half of our group having already teed off). While I can understand an employee asking for us to hurry the employee continued to state that we were late and continued to yell while I was trying to hit from the tee. She was yelling that I should just drop the ball up the fairway despite the fact that I had plenty of time to tee off. I repeatedly stated that I was sorry for being a few minutes late, but that she was being rude and that her yelling wasn’t helping us move any faster. Instead, it was just making all the members in my group uncomfortable. It was clear to me that this employee could not control herself as she compulsively stated how we were late despite our apologizing. It got so bad that I finally said she was ruining our experience and told her to stop berating me and my golf partner. She finally stopped. There is absolutely no excuse for speaking to patrons the way my group was spoken to today, especially not for being a few minutes late. Luckily the group I golfed with made up for the terrible beginning. Regardless, I won’t be golfing here again.
Johanna Meyer: Always a good walk
Henry Buda: Great course but I felt the greens were a little faster than some other courses in the area.
lafontaine orvild: Beautiful place to walk around.
Daniel Destefano: Very enjoyable course and staff
Anna Dyakiv: Worst experience I’ve ever had at a golf course. Spoke with Andrew over the phone to book a tee time. Only asked for the name. Did not provide any instructions . Upon arriving at the first tee I was told I need two bags of clubs to play even though I had all the clubs and was just sharing a bag with a friend. The person checking in at the tee, Sunny was extremely disrespectful, raised her voice and got into my face. When I walked back to ask Andrew why that was the policy he said “I am not going to get into it” wouldn’t explain why. Raised his tone, refused to refund to the credit card I paid with and instead threw the cash in my face and told me to leave. Gave me a phone number for his director when I tried to call it, Andrew answered. There was a group checking in at the same time who were appalled by how he was speaking to my friend and I. Needless to say it was a very unpleasant experience. If I was properly explained the policy and treated with respect I would have had no issue renting another bag! Additionally just read the review and it seems like this is an ongoing issue and the staff is untrained and disrespectful.
Charlie Cronin: Probably my worst golf experience yet and without a doubt the worst golf staff I have encountered. All but one employees were extremely rude, condescending and the opposite of empathetic towards the unexperienced golfers we were with. Right off the bat, the ranger on the first tee was pressuring us about pace and proceed to follow us down the fairway and tell the girls to hit off the handicap tee. The pressure exerted by the staff on the first hole made for a terrible start to the day and made us feel like we couldn't take any time on the remaining holes. We didn't even putt on the first hole we felt that pressured. This is a 9-hole municipal public course, yet the staff that works here acts as if they're hosting the US Open. On top of that, it's an enormous rip off. To play only 9-holes and be treated by the staff like that, paying upwards of $40 is simply comical. You could play 18 holes at most courses for that price. It's safe to say I will not be returning to this course and would strongly not recommend it for anyone who wants to have fun golfing or isn't extremely experienced.
Max P: Well maintained 9 hole course but it can get a little busy especially in the summer afternoons, especially with tee times 10 minutes apart from each other.
Simon Watts: I have lived close to this course for the last fifteen years since moving here from England.I have been lucky enough to play some of the best golf courses in England and here in the US.Fresh Pond Golf Course is absolutely the best value round of golf in the Greater Boston area. It would still be good value at twice the price.Bob and Andy in the pro shop run a very tight ship - the course and greens are always in excellent shape. They are professionals, they care about the game and care about their course. Play there - get to know them - it will quickly become your favorite place for nine holes. The course is on the shorter side, designed to challenge the skilled golfer but accessible to the high handicapper. I aways find the dog-leg left fourth hole a worthy challenge. A well hit tee shot is rewarded by a down hill fairway at the landing zone.I always forget that I’m in the middle of a city - just this week a beautiful doe stood transfixed on the cart path as we hit our putts on the 6th.
Emilio Lapiello: Nice course, but management lacks empathy for people they happen to spray with putrid water while playing. When asked why the sprinklers were on while people were playing, their reply was that "there is a timer for the sprinklers and that's how it is".It is unfortunate for paying customers that the timer is set to start while they are still playing. It would have been nice of them to just apologize for the inconvenience and set things straight, but that did not happen at all. With all the worries about Covid and other diseases, recommendations to wear masks indoors and so on, I am eager to find out how the City of Cambridge Health department feels about people being sprayed with putrid water on one of the facilities the city owns and manages.
Al Wayne: Andrew at the front desk is horrible. Bad tempered, extremely rude, and inconsiderate. Seems as if he’d rather be doing anything else - a true pity on a course as good as this one. Seriously negatively impacts the course experience.
Patrick McKenna: Just golfed here for the first time last Friday, and now see why the tee times fill up! The staff was friendly and welcoming as soon as we walked up to the club house, even showing us the practice green and made sure we knew where the first tee was. The course makes you forget you're as close to the city as you are! Great views and challenging shots, this was a great course for me and my fiancé to enjoy together to help our game. Really looking forward to making this one of our regular courses!!!
Tyler Jon Morrison: This perfect, 9-hole layout is so much fun and so well maintained; you will always get to use all the clubs in your bag here, with two par-5 holes and three par-3s, playing to a par of 35. The greens are invariably in excellent condition and tend to run on the faster side of the Stimpmeter compared against most public courses. Donald Ross elements of architecture are detectable in a number of the greens complexes and tee shots, however the course is very easy to walk without too many elevation changes overall. Bob Carey does a great job of running the pro shop for all your couse equipment needs, and all of the staff are excellent at their jobs, friendly and knowledgeable. Call the pro shop for day-of tee times, but otherwise their online booking is easy to use. Come out to Fresh Pond and hopefully I'll see you out there 🍻 cheers.
FELIPE DE AZEVEDO SILVA RIBEIRO: Lugar excelente para entrar em contato com a natureza, caminhar ou fazer piquenique.

D Collette: one word...AWESOME!!!
Ben Collins: Great course, great views of the Boston skyline
Larry Beale: Great! Service and food was excellent!
Lina Genovese: We really liked this venue and we're highly considering booking it. However, after visiting the venue on January 22nd we were expecting to hear from M with a quote, this never happened. I followed up with her and heard back from her on February 3rd apologizing for the delay and promising that we will get a quote later on that day. Well, February 8th and still no word/quote from her. We have decided to move on with our search for a different venue. Extremely disappointing with the lack of professionalism form this venue*** I honestly want to respond to their comment. I never received a quote last week, it's a lie. Quote was not in email spam or in the wedding wire communication with them. It's funny that after not hearing from them as soon as you give them an accurate review, then they do respond right away*** Anyways, I'm moving on since they can't seem to acknowledge their lack of good customer service
Heidi Carman: beautiful setting for a wedding with modern up dates
Maureen Brown: Beautiful place to celebrate any occasion
Laurie Singletary: Lovely club with a delicious restaurant with great service!
Carol Westbury: Food was outstanding, service was just as good. I can see why my brother-in-law spends a lot of his time golfing here. Carol from Scotland. Loved Boston

Brae Burn Country Club: what do users think?
Antoine Hodge: Never felt so disrespected before in my life. I, a black male was contracted to promote a liquor during their annual Country Western Celebration. I arrived and received lots of stares. From staff and guests. Then manager Adam tells me “We were expecting girls to sample, this isn’t the vibe we’re going for, no disrespect, but you could leave.” Did I mention that there was not one person in the entire club that looked like me. The Adam goes on to say, “but leave your cups, so we can sample with them”.I will never return to this establishment… I’m not going where I’m not wanted. It’s 2022 smh.

Norwood Country Club & Driving Range: what do users think?
Angus Clarke: After reading some of the reviews I wondered if I was at the same golf course. What I have noticed is golfers don't replace their divots or repair their ball marks on the greens. I found the staff at Norwood to be very friendly and helpful. The course can be wet at times but you have to take in the fact it's built on wet lands so if it rains it can get soggy, grounds crews do the best they can. It's a nice course to play and at times can be slow but that's a groups fault for the slow play. Being next to a airport is kind of a new experience for those who have never seen planes up close when landing and is really not that big a deal.
D. A: I just used their driving range, pretty simple set up 10 bucks for a medium bucket not wallet breaking. leaving 5 stars because these reviews are amazing but the owner responses are better.
Joseph Rahamim: On 2 days of temps in 40-50s°driving range was closed , there's an automated dispenser of balls,no need for human help should be open
lover and a hater: Staff were great. No complaints. No attitude. Friendly.
jack kennefick: Driving range is fine. Course is in terrible conditions and most of the people that work there are a**holes. For a cheap and easy golf course where every green is terribly scarred, the rangers give you attitude for nothing. While at the same time, let people in gym shorts and sweatshirts play. Been there many times and it always shocked me how rude everyone is for such a poorly taken care of course.
Andrew: Course was terrible. Greens were turned into a mud pit. Fairways were straight dirt. No water throughout the course. Massive hold up due to terrible planning. Overpriced. Rather play on concrete
James Bruce: Thank you for hosting Medway High Golf team. Greens were in good shape and the players enjoyed the course.
scott whalon: Good public course with some challenging holes
James McConville: Very reasonable price
Jeremy Desmond: This place is the worst course i have ever played at. The greens are brown. Weeds on the putting browns. They do not take any care of this place
Tony Thepngone: Great layout and price! Not the greatest conditions but price and layout make it worth it!
Jono Healey: Website and Google listing said the range was open from 7am. Arrived at 7:30am to be told it actually opens at 9:30am. Several other people arrived to use the range whilst I was there. Update your opening times please.
Edward Hubbard: Greens and fairways getting better than years past
Dom Cammarata: Pretty solid course, not sure why people hating
Erik Shingle: $57 bucks to play this dog track on a weekend is highway robbery. I am from out of state and had no idea what to expect but coming in at the price point Norwood does I figured it would be at least somewhat good shape. Tee boxes were uneven, fairways had 50% patchy grass 50% hard dirt and almost every green had spots that were burnt out and had no grass on them. This is surprising because there are sprinkler heads in the middle of some of these greens which I have never seen before. A lot of exposed cracked irrigation pipes can be seen from the fairways as well. The driving range nets also did not keep the range balls off the fairways so there are range balls littered throughout the courseI must say the staff was nice and welcoming and pace of play was amazing.
Louis Bello: Norwood golf course has come a long way in the right direction . Fighting dry weather is not easy. More fairway grass this year and the greens are very well maintained.
Kevin McCarthy: Will not be coming back. Course is NOT in great shape, and prices seemed steep for the conditions. However, the staff at this establishment is extremely unprofessional. I went to pay for the other 2 of my foursome, after the first two already paid. I asked the woman to confirm if they payed for 9 or 18, and she literary forgot. Did not even know how to pull up a past transaction. Not to mention the way they respond to these reviews, truly mind boggling. Treat customers with respect and show them you care about their experience before getting angry that people leave bad reviews. Easiest way to kill your business!RESPONSE: I understand there's a learning curve, but being aware of when customers pay and how many holes they pay for is not something you "learn". Actually disgusted with how you respond to some of the customers in this thread, it truly is no surprise the pro shop is in the basement of an industrial building. Not a cent has been poured into this place since the 80's. I have no problem writing a bad review to your business, because it doesn't deserve people seeking a good day of golf. Simple as that!
Matt Greil: Played a round of 18 last weekend, a great course with the little planes always flying over the course but you don't even notice when you're playing. Not too many water hazards and it's all really open. Only lost a couple of balls this time.
Peter Zuccalo: At only $40 on weekends for 18 this course is a deal for the area. Course is not very difficult but was in pretty good shape and better than expected after reading the reviews on here. Only real negative was that the range balls littering the fairway/rough on the 1st and 10th holes made it difficult to locate your ball (If I play here again, I'll play a nonwhite ball ball).
J S: Decent course. Try it out. Won't be disappointed
James Malzone: Always great service

William Freedberg: It is a real shame the damage the owners have done to the community with illegal deforestation. We have rule of law in this country and going behind the town's back, and against the interest of all the non-members who share the community with the club, to clear forest for something trivial takes real hubris.
C STONE GOLF: A diverse menu. Tight quarters. Fun staff. Worth visiting!
Ronald Enos: There for a private function dinner. Really good food and atmosphere.
Martia Turrrina: Very happy overall with my new roller door. Works fantastic, looks great, quiet, wait was worth it and the price was reasonable. All of the staff were friendly too.Only thing im annoyed about is the 2 large piles of wet cement and rubble that were left in my driveway. I’m covered in mud from trying to clean it, it's incredibly heavy and it's sticking to my driveway. It would have just been nice to know I’d be left with that, would have put a tarp down or something....
Hopmnt Dsarew: Best service I have ever seen! So nice the way David explained the problem! Professional job fast and clean! I highly recommend this guys and I got the invoice by email so. If you have problems to get it just call them and they will send it to you. And again thank you guys for the fast service!
Heidi Schumacher: Very poor experience trying to book an event there. Multiple calls and emails to the Banquet/Events Manager, unresponsive. Tried getting an appointment to view the room. She gave extremely limited options. I picked one of them and sent it to her, never heard from her again. Requests for photos of the room were also ignored. Do not recommend.
Mike Jones: Good times
steve deangelis: Awesome Classic Golf Course and Club. Meticulous attention to detail . A privilege to play there. A+
Мурад Рустамович: Все классно но мне не понравился газон, с Вячеславом газон строили хороший 80грн кв.м
Michael Moulton: Nogg
Tim Clifford: A great Donald Ross layout
tiffani musmecci: We have our work Christmas party here every year. It is a great place with delicious food. Never disappointed.
Bruce Torrey: Food was fantastic and the staff was great!
Andrea Taffe: Great course, questionable Pro Shop and food service. 88 women, 1 bar tender??
Darrell Glass: Great course... Amazing greens
Law Tem: Great history at this country club. A private club in the best tradition of golf. The club has had numerous major golf tournaments sanctioned by the USGA.
Ken Ross: Great course and banquet hall
Jerry Dutra: Super lincs
