Neville Center: what do users think?
Arturo: One to 2 hours for someone to respond to pressing your help button. You don't get to order what you want to eat from their Cafe.Rehab workouts standard as anywhere else.Lazy workstaff due to payscale.
Cornell Bentley: The staff here really care about the patients, even more so than their own families. These employees sacrifice their time away from home working doubles, triples, etc. whatever they have to do so that the patients are cared for and provided with respect. They all deserve RAISES!!!!!!
Jim Andrews: They mistreat elderly patients.
Kayla Tracey: Very clean facility and friendly, attentive staff!!
caroline loiacono: The Neville center is by far one of the best nursing homes in the boston area! My grandmother has stayed at many facilities that were dirty, understaffed, and unsafe. We haven’t seen any of these issues the past few months she’s been at Neville. The rooms and common areas are kept clean, the staff are beyond friendly and care so much for the community members. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a safe, trustworthy facility for their loved ones.
Miguel Encarnacion: One of the nicest looking nursing homes I have ever seen. It is so modern and new not like the other nursing centers I toured. I would actually live here.
Lex Jacobs: This is a horrible place in my opinion. Please do not send any of your loved ones here. Tonight a woman was screaming for help and three nurses refused to listen to help her. This may be something the woman does but it does NOT give them the right to ignore her! I unfortunately had to say something to them so the poor woman could get some help. It’s scary to think your loved ones are being treated this way.
Edward Mcdermott: My mom was sent to Neville from MGH, she arrived with COVID and they were aware? they put her in a regular room (not COVID) TV didn't work, my mom has a bladder problem and can't get out of bed yet,so she pushed her nurse button and took a while, and finally a nurse or aid came in and after asking for help was YELLED AT! The next day mom was put in a COVID room, and again No TV (nobody had a remote??) I was on the next flight from Florida that night,so once again my mom needs help with going to the bathroom and slow response her diaper was full and half off, because of this she now has a UTI, I witnessed staff on cell phones a LOT, I called cooperate#978-372-4004Steve, and heard my concerns (I called the lead nurse and social worker at 9am,and finally at noonish Steve called me back with the lead nurse and social worker on 3way call and was assured that things would be better? They weren't, also food is under par, no toast for bkst or bread with dinner, some things on the meal ticket don't even arrive, also cold meatloaf?no potatoes on plate etc etc,I have not received any calls to see how things are,no empathy just drain the system for$$$$, My best visits were in the day (April)at front desk is a PURE ANGLE, SO please reconsider sending a Loved one to Neville I doubt this will even get posted, so find a better place,it says 5stars, I believe they monitor the negative post's,as it seems that there aren't any??
Leo: If you really do care about your family member do not bring them here, very dirty , feces on the floor in the rooms. Debris on the floor. These people DO NOT respond to rooms when you press the button. 80+ degree rooms, no air circulation. I really looks like a corrections facility. This is all first floor, I don't even want to imagine what the other floors look like.
Valerie Vancura: Wonderful facility and amazing staff!
Allen Whitaker: I was a Rehab. patient at Neville from late July to late August 2020 following Rotator Cuff Surgery. I've had CP since birth so I really needed to learn how to walk safely following the surgery. The staff were exceptional, compassionate and professional for my entire stay. My stay was during height of COVID during a very hot Summer. Although the staff had to wear full face and body coverings to prevent spread and I never got COVID, the staff were always kind patient and so helpful! I miss Marissa, Nichole and all the PT's, OT's, Nurses and Aides who helped me get better and taught me so many good ways of coping. I walk with walkers now, but I'm back home and safe thanks so much to Neville! Thank You all! Allen Whitaker.
Joan Aragones: On our second day visit the toilet was dirty. The room has not been cleaned so we cleaned it. They put a diaper on him which he did not need. The staff is not friendly and they don’t treat the elderly right.
Ivette garcia: This PLACE IS OPEN 24 Hours and No One Ever Answers
Thomas Litrenta: After surgery, I have been to the Neville Center on 3 occasions in the past 2 years. All stays were for moderate orthopedic issues. It is always difficult for a patient to remain in a rehab center for 24 hours a day. You are largely confined to your bed or chair all day. Believe me it is no fun!!The staff at Neville Center was very aware of this fact and they ALL went out of their way to make my stay as comfortable as possible. I have stayed sat 2 other rehab centers where the staff often became threatening and aggressive! The medical care at Neville is excellent. They may have saved my life. One of the nurses noticed that an infection developed after back surgery. They took a picture sent it to my surgeon who rushed me back to the operating room for more surgery. I was then released back to Neville where I was administered many days of IV treatment. The physical and occupational therapists were top quality and very caring. I was given 2 hours a day of PERSONALIZED physical therapy. At another institution I was given 1 hour of GROUP PT. Since there were 8 patients in a group that amounted to about 6 minutes of SIMPLE PT. That rehab center falsely advertised each patient got 3 hours of personal PT a day. Finally the patients at Neville are NOT ALARMED to their bed. They are free to use an assistive device to navigate especially in their room. This alarming of beds is a abusive practice. Studies have shown that fall rates and injuries are NOT reduced whenever bed alarms are used. Only patient comfort is severely compromised.Furthermore you can be sure that some staff member will be greatly offended if your alarm goes off. At a different facility one staff member threatened to tie me to the bed. I had waited 35 minutes for her to take me to the bathroom and finally had to get up on my own. I had no choice at that point. If you are choosing a rehab center ask them "DO YOU ALARM THE BEDS?" If the answer is yes, hang up immediately and choice another rehab location. It will save you a GREAT DEAL of unpleasantness. Don't believe when they say the ALARMS are for your benefit. They are totally for staff convenience and power.I think Neville Canter was an excellent choice for me and I would go there again for more rehab anytime.
muriel dyas: my stay here has been atrocious. No routine in medication distribution, most staff unengaging. little rehab time...food horrible and never get what you order. Never again
Pamela Dixon: This place is horrible along with the staff. The abuse and neglect my mother endure was unbelievable. I left several messages with directors regarding meetings, nothing. I hope no one else received abuse my mother went through with staff.
Margaret Demopoulos: This is a nursing home, not a rehab. Please don’t be misled like I was.
Maureen Celli: My family and I can not rave enough about the Neville Nursing Home in Cambridge. This is the 3rd nursing home our mother has been moved to and Neville is the BEST! Our mothers health has improved, her physical strength is better, her happiness, and the smiles, laughter and communication conveys joy. A big difference since she has been at Neville. As her children, we now enjoy visiting her because we see a new Mom. Thank you to the staff, the attention and the care. Neville Center delivers just what our mother needs.
Janet Ferreira: Worst care ever for someone that is there for pt. 15 minutes of pt daily? Try reaching someone to talk to for information, impossible! Try getting a nurse, impossible! Try getting a doctor never gonna happen. Do not have a loved one go there. Just today I have been trying to speak with someone, anyone since 3:00 someone did call me back at 3:56 but still no answers, she is the nursing director and can’t get thru to them? She did finally get thru to them and called me back at 4:45,which I’m grateful for, but I don’t understand why nobody picks up the phone there.
Kevin Bucelewicz: Great place! Friendly attentive staff! It's comforting to know my Mother is being taken care in such a clean, comfortable and compassionate environment! Thank you! Crystal is Amazing!!!
Laurie D'Errico: The staff at Neville was professional, knowledgeable and caring during my short term rehab stay, I would highly recommend the Neville Center at Fresh Pond

Cambridge Rehabilitation & Nursing Center: what do users think?
Lis Gomez: This place is very poor in service. Please stay away from this place.
Aurelove Cleaning: Stay away from this place if you are an agency or a company and DO NOT signed contracts with them if you do , you will Not Get Paid . They hired my company as a janitor service , I send them invoices every single weeks and they never make any payments . when I stopped the service , they went behind my back hired one of my staff without any notification from them . The worst part about them every time you called or email they did not reply or answer my phone calls . when I contacted a debt collector about my case with them I found out they have multiples account in collections one of them was medical supplies . Staff managements is very very unprofessional they are not willing to avoid any situation . Right now they still owed my company more then $12000.00 every thing about this place is a mess , the inside of he facility and the patients is Not in good condition .
CT Cambridge: My friend was there and collapsed, they did nothing. 911 was called by my friends wife and they went to.Tufts.
Ray Rich: I am wondering if this was a gd idea to send my dad there with all these bad reviews. We'll c how it goes but if this place as bad as the reviews. On to the next. No time 4 games when ppl lively hoods at stake. Dats all We'll c
Daquanda murchison: When I asked why was the needle laying on a resident’s table I was told he had to administer his own medicine… I use to work here and did everyone else’s Job including mines!! That needle could of been used as a weapon seeing that this place is not just a rehab it is a shelter too!!!!Wellll whoever you are that probably just became a resident there I been working there since September and seen a lot.. but going back to the needle we were clearly downstairs on a weekend in which I never work in the activity room and a resident wanted to charge his phone and he couldn’t get it to work so I WENT upstairs to get his charger so I can fix his phone in which I did but the needle was laying there on the table and when I asked a nurse when I did find one he gave me that answer so you whoever you are have no business commenting on what I wrote because you don’t know what your talking about but carry on and keep making this place try too look good!! That’s why all the real people quit before things got this way I should have too! Good day!!!
Patty Spakoski: 1. I would like to refute the comments made by "DM". I strongly believe that the comment on the photo presented has been taken out of context. I believe the needle, which had not been opened or filled with any medication, was on the table while the nurse was administering additional medications. The nurses only have two hands. Putting the needle in in the pocket of their scrubs might cause them to forget. Calling it a weapon is a bit of a stretch.I am a resident at this facility and no resident is allowed to self administer their own injections. I receive injections and they are administered by the nurse on that shift.2. How could she have been everyone else's job when she was barely performing her job.I completely understand that staff levels are low and it is difficult to attract workers unless the earnings/benefits/perks are exceptional. But to put in writing that she was 'doing everyone else's job' is a blatant lie. She sounds like a disgruntled employee and wanted to if she could get a reaction or response.3. I was unaware that this facility is a shelter. I knew that the facility had to hold a percentage of the beds for military veterans and nothing about holding beds as a shelter.I have seen individuals admitted for injuries and infections and they were discharged after a doctor determines that the ailment as the cause for the admission is healed and no longer a threat to their lives.I have not used my real name, as it is not important. I just wanted anyone reading the comment, I am addressing, to realize that there is no truth to her post. The facility has it faults, but show me a facility that is perfect. I would say, "nice dream, huh?"
Michael McKenzie: I truly believe this place should not operate any further. My mother was recently admitted to this place, and the immediate thing you notice is the unbearable smell of urine when you enter, which gets worse on floor two. At the time it was 87°F, and this facility has been built without central air conditioning. We got different responses from "yes there IS central air" to "no there are window units", eventually coming to the conclusion that there were no air conditioners. My mother was in a pool of her own sweat with an open wound. I had to wash her down, but their plumbing is broken, so her room sink couldn't drain, making it hard to use without overflowing. One of the public toilets in the hallways were clogged with feces the whole time she was there. We had to eventually call an ambulance after they were mistreating her and being unable to get any of my mother's medications on time. They were very adamant on not having my mother leave, but it was clear to me that this could not continue after realizing that this facility is ABSOLUTELY unfit for any post-operated patients, let alone a nursing home. I feel horrible for the people who have to live here.I feel that no person should be allowed to stay in this location under the current state that this building is. I expected better from The City of Cambridge. Some of the staff seem complacent with what happens here. There were some genuinely good people who worked there, but there's staff that I feel are ABSOLUTELY unfit to work a job here.I've gone ahead and attached a couple of pictures I took in the facility. Words can not express how putrid this place was.I warn anyone -- post-op patients OR potential nursing home patients: do not go here. What I witnessed there was unlike anything I've experienced before, and I hope you understand why we needed to leave as soon as possible. I have comprehensive proof to back up these claims, so I don't need to be responded to by this company like the other reviewers were, claiming their testimonials to be untrue.
Victoria: Went to pick my mom up from here today and the place was disgusting. Smelled like urine from the second you walk through the doors. Pushy staff. The woman next to my mom told her to run from there because of how horrible it is. Would not send anyone here.
Anthony Cooper: My sister spent a few days there. No shower for 4 days. Staff acting very unprofessional in every phase of care for the people there. My sister was smart she checked out of there.
Philip Carr0ll: Ok
Margie H: I could not be happier with the care my sister received here. The staff were very caring and concerned in helping her achieve her best possible health.Blessing advocated over and above for her; Wei, the physical therapist, challenged her lovingly to reach her highest potential; Leslie became a wonderful friend and mentor.I am very grateful to them all.
Arlene Granberry: Place needs to be shut down
N P: I wish that I could give this place a 0. It is a nightmare and with COVID it has gotten worse. The staff don't inform families on anything. My mother caught COVID in this facility and a call was never made, the nurse literally yelled and argued with me, and the social worker told me a letter was sent out stating that there was COVID in the facility which I have yet to receive almost a year later. I then just recently got word that my mother was vaccinated after the fact of a staff member calling me for my consent which I said no to the vaccine and that she will send me the waiver form which I never received. This place is a absolute mess and I will be looking to transfer my mother as soon as possible.
nikesh koirala: This company does not even do a simple book keeping job properly...what a mess
Susan Kaszuba: This place is called a rehab but they literally do no rehab! The place is filthy and there is hardly no staff available to help the poor patients. When you are lucky enough to find a staff they are extremely rude and disrespectful and show the patients no respect and don't want to do their job. The family I spoke to of some of the other patients had the exact same problems and complaints and had filed complaints with the state. If you love your family member you will not put them here. BEWARE!
John Gardner: This place is worse then where the Texas chain saw massacre took place! Dreadful staff, God-awful food, and dank & gloomy rooms. I would not have my Dog stay there, let alone family member!
Times News: Norm Michaud, what so called "a professional member" is nothing but a fraud, a phony, and a pathological liar. He’s playing the elders, and the sick as suckers. Dishonesty and abuse are both Norm’s hallmark. I am pretty confident he only belongs to hell.My family had filed a report with Cambridge city council, including the Cambridge police department, against this lightweight for abusing, and denigrating a dear lovable, and a kind family member who has spent his lifetime in service of others and the country. I am heartbroken and in tears as I write this post. I am in agony and pain.We do sincerely advice that you avoid sending your loved ones to this horror dungeon at all costs. I recommend that one makes sure they do consult with elderly services prior moving a family member or a dear friend to 8 Dana street.Once you lose someone to abuse and mistreatment you’ll never forgive yourself.
Jimwiz48: I was unfortunately put here without my approval from Cambridge Hospital which I thought was against the law. The place was a nightmare. The PT staff were very good which is the only thing I can say. I demanded to be transferred after staying in the facility for several weeks. Never again!
Tammy Seaver: This place is the worst place to be employed! The staff are very disrespectful (the nurses talk to each other like they’re in high school) and the administration & HR could care less about your concerns/well being. There is no sense of urgency, I’ve seen a resident fall out of his wheel chair and it took 6 minutes for his nurse to help him. No one is professional at all, supervisors talk to you like you’re a 5 year old with no respect or decency, and you don’t get favored unless you’re of African or Haitian decent. I loved working there until I saw the place for what it is. No one cares about helping each other, most of the management is there for a check and doesn’t have the right heart to work with the public. Coming from a corporate background, I was literally appalled at the way the owners, DON, the assistant DON & HR behave! They should be embarrassed.
MaryMolly Plant: Kind and caring staff
Sharon Hight: I wish I can give this place 0 stars. ... I dont even know where to begin my poor mother OMG she lost so much weight being in there when she entered in she had a broken hip so they put her on high doses of pain medication remind u she was 140lbs when she entered well the plan was to rehab her and she get to go home well that didnt happen she just got worse and worse, well about 9 months later they told me her appetite wasnt that great which it never was but she was all the way down to 100lbs now so one night she complained about pain in her arm so the nurse went into the folder and read how she was on pain medicine 9 months prior for her hip and gave he the same dosage that they gave her when she was 40lbs heavier and yes they over dosed my mother I got a call that night from ER my mother was on a breathing machine... she ended up getting better but her COPD got worse and worse and My mother ended up dying at this place, they act like care in your face but they r horrible there,, nurses, CNAs, Drs, counselors, all of them suck... I can go on and on with all the negative about this place even with Hospice involved at the end of my mothers life this nursing home didnt care at all... Please if u have a love one that needs help DO NOT SEND THEM HERE....
