Victoria Calder: Decent quality meat but scammy, annoying subscription cancellation. Had to cancel my box because because I'll be travelling and am not sure when I'll be back. I selected that I was cancelling because I was travelling, which was an option on the menu. Instead of a straightforward, honest cancellation process, I had to click through a ton of screens including one where I was asked if I wanted to have my box delivered to my vacation address instead. I'm sure this is a nice option for some people but it didn't apply to me and I resent having to say "yes, I'm sure I want to cancel" REPEATEDLY to avoid a company taking my money for a service I don't need.Stop doing this to people. Trust your customers to return when they are able to/want to use the service again. I WON'T be returning because of these bad business tactics.

Tiffany Amber Stockton: I am a new customer, and while the meat we received with our first shipment was packaged extremely well with high quality and delicious meat, we had a significant issue with customer service when a problem occurred with our 2nd shipment.Although every single email arrived from the company with promotions, we never received the alert notification email a few days before our next box. Since life gets busy, we overlooked the shipment date. As a result, we weren't able to change our meats and are now receiving an exact duplicate of our last box. Other than product damaged or thawed in shipping, there is no return or refund option available. I realize the perishable nature of the meat requires this, but we still have 3 meat selections we haven't used from our first box, and now we'll have doubles of those!Although Scott was professional, he stuck straight to a script and his response lacked any genuine sense of compassion. The attitude that came across in the emails from him basically said, "Tough luck!" as there was no attempt to assist or offer a resolution other than me setting my own reminders so this doesn't happen again. Yes, I agree with being proactive and personal responsibility, but as a new customer (only 2nd box this week) and for the money I'm paying, I expected much more.I reached out first thing Monday morning, and my box didn't ship until late Tuesday night, so there was plenty of time to change out the meats as requested. Telling me nothing can be done and making no attempt to make the situation better (discount on next box or partial refund, etc.) is poor customer service. When there are other companies providing high quality meat AND top-notch customer service for about the same prices, I am NOT impressed.Yes, I only communicated with 1 person, so he's the only interaction on which I can base my opinion, but these are still my impressions. ButcherBox might offer excellent product, but if customer service is poor, it taints the entire operation.
Airiayana Sullivan: They have dropped the ball—nothing but delays. I have used this service since 2018 or 2019, and they have been great. Lately, my boxes have been delayed. They have no problem withdrawing $200+ out of my account bi-monthly, and it's been days, and it still has not shipped. I'm going to try other meat subscription services like piedmontese.
samurai1833: I've only had 3 items out of my first Butcher Box delivery, (custom box with the keto bonus) The salmon was the best I've ever had, the bacon had great flavor but had a different quality than I'm accustomed to. It rendered out so completely when I cooked it in the oven it did not retain the greasy quality that makes it decadent. If bacon can ever be healthy it would be like this. I may have overcooked it. The final item I've tried was a whole chicken, AMAZING, it was small but very dense! A simple season of salt, pepper mix and Thyme after roasting was all the dressing up needed. It reminded me of chicken I once had at an Amish supper in Ohio, the quality is stunning. I am very pleased and looking forward to firing up the grill this weekend for the steaks and ribs in my order. Cheers!

Allie Wensman: *update 3/6* changing my review to only 1 starI have ordered from butcher box a few times now. While I like their product, I am on the fence on ordering from them again. I have had very bad experiences with their customer service. My second order said it was delivered but it was not. As it’s perishable I contacted them to help me figure out where it was- but I wasn’t able to get someone who could help me. Eventually they just sent me a new shipment as the original one was never found. My last two shipments have been extremely delayed, with no updates from them regarding the delay. When I reached out to their customer service, both times I was told it was “on its way”- but it wasn’t. the first time, it took about another week past the original delivery date to be delivered and I was only given an update because I asked. My current order is still showing as processing and customer service is not responding. Shame on me I guess for giving them another chance. I asked for it to be cancelled and no response so I will have to now dispute with my credit card.In my opinion; customer service is just as important as the product. Therefore, I will ordwe the product from another company next time with better customer service
Reid Watson: DON'T FALL FOR IT!Sure they'll lure you in with big discounts and free meats on your first box. And the first box is great-- steaks, chops, maybe even a pork tenderloin, premium stuff. But..Then the next box comes and it's literally the cheapest cuts they can find- pork butt, chicken drumsticks, they even sent me two packs of stew meat. The box costs $150 but they only sent $50 worth of meat? Total bait and switch if you ask me
