I also ordered the suit on Monday was able to get on Thursday, I loved the quick turn around. They had a wide variety of suits to choose from which was helpful. The best part of it all was they were very AFFORDABLE!!! Blazer, pants, shirt, cummerbund, bow tie, and shoes ALL FOR $175, you will not find a better deal.

Annie Sayarath: I was thinking about coming here for my wedding but after speaking to whoever answered their call I completely changed my mind!this is my first time getting married, I wasn’t sure how things worked I assumed I could go in with all the groomsmen and they’d get fitted but before I decided to walk in with everyone I called just to make sure and I was given nothing but attitude! The guy literally said with a stank attitude “first of all you can’t do that, that’s not how things work” and then went on to explain, the attitude that was given threw me all the way off and made me think if they were giving me an attitude just for asking about coming in with the groomsmen to get fitted I couldn’t imagine how else they’d treat me if I did decide to go with them. The stank attitude was unnecessary especially since I didn’t know what the process was for a wedding party to get fitted.Just a piece of advice for future reference, customer service wether in person or over the phone goes a long way. The wrong kind of customer service can push a potential client/customer away.

He's just as good when it comes to fittings than his Dad, he may be even better. I had some ideas on what type of Tuxedo I was looking to rent and even had some pictures. Mr. Allan's son had me sized up and out the door in under 30 minutes. He was thorough and professional and explained to me the process when it was time to pick up my Tux. I'm a local boy born and raised in Egleston Sq. To have a place nearby where I go and feel welcomed made me feel glad that I went here.

Shannon O'Gorman: My fiancé made an appointment months ago and it was cancelled the day of with no explanation. When we called they could only offer us an appointment over 2 months from now and when we said that didn’t work, they told us to just order online. I would never order a tux for a groom online without trying on or seeing the product. They did not try to accommodate us whatsoever even though THEY were the ones to cancel our appointment the day of. We would never use a business who runs like this for our wedding.

Kevin Coughlin: This review is way past due, because I love The Black Tux. I've used them twice now -- both for my own wedding and another I was in. In both instances, it was so easy to either go to a brick and mortar location, or just enter my sizes and have them delivered. My favorite thing is the suitcase-style packaging, knowing that I can just grab the box and drive to the event and then just drop it all in the mail on the way home. It's simple and looks great. For my wedding, I had different shades of blue for my suit, the fathers involved, and the groomsmen. Some people received the wrong shade of tie initially, but customer support -- specifically Dimitri S. on July 14, 2022 -- was so helpful and had 10 correct ties shipped directly to me. It was no issue at all. The quality is also excellent. Several of my grooms team even kept either the ties or the shoes -- or both! I've never experienced or heard of issue from any of my friends and have always enjoyed the experience, especially with folks spread across the country.

Alan Samanta: Showed up for my appointment and no one was there. Called them repeatedly and no one answered. After about 15 minutes someone finally showed up but did a very lazy job measuring me so the suit didn't really fit when I received it.Suit was low quality, another person in my wedding party got a shirt with visible stains. The shoes were possibly the least comfortable shoes I've ever worn.I would never ever use this company again.

Dan Fijalkowski: Quality seems fine, but the process and fitting is not a good practice. I scheduled a fitting a month ago. The tux arrived today and both the jacket and pants did not fit. I didn't trust the refitting process via their website, so I asked for a new fitting. Unfortunately, the next available fitting would be over a month away and we'll after my event. My biggest issue is that if I want the right fitting tux soon, I need to pay for shipping. I wouldn't recommend this for anyone at this point.

Daniel Costello: DO NOT USE THIS PLACE! I highly recommend that you research another location to handle your wedding needs. My brother used The Black Tux for his wedding party to cover the rental needs of his wedding party. We had several horrible experiences with The Black Tux leading up to the wedding.Our initial bad experience started about one month prior to the wedding when my brother's suit fitting appointment was canceled with less than 24 hours notice (he had scheduled the appointment two months in advance). The alternate date they provided him to get fitted was ten days after the wedding. It took him numerous phone calls back and forth over the course of a week for him to get in to be seen in time for the wedding. They were very unaccommodating and difficult to work with. This cancellation was on them, yet they did not want to reschedule (my brother was willing to go in on any date/time that was available as long as the suit can in a timely manner). Their customer service was horrible.When I went for my personal appointment they could not find me in the system despite being registered and having already received numerous emails regarding my appointment. They were unable to look me up my brother's account to tell me what products he had selected for his wedding party (I wanted to ensure that I would match the other groomsmen).My experience at the fitting appointment was quite unpleasant, especially considering the money spent for the product. The sample products provided were not suitable to use. The white dress shirt was FILTHY. I felt disgusting trying it on. The collar on this white shirt was completely brown with sweat stains. It clearly is rarely, if ever, cleaned. They did not have my shoe size (a common size 10.5) to try on. The jacket buttons were hanging on by a thread. They gave an extremely poor sampling on their product.When my suit finally came in, all of the accessories were missing (tie clip, cufflinks, belt). They provided the wrong shoes (black instead of brown) and it was missing the vest. While some wrinkles are natural for a mail order suit, my jacket and pants looked like they had been rolled into a ball and picked up off the floor. I had to dry clean these items at my own expense in order to be ready for the wedding.They failed to meet even the bare minimum expectations. I was expecting better quality customer service for the money that was spent on this rental. Please go elsewhere and do not give your business to The Black Tux.SIDE NOTE: The representative that helped me in the store was new to the job. He was very cordial and polite. I do not blame him at all for my bad experience with The Black Tux. However, his management clearly did not give him the resources and training needed to succeed in this role. All other aspects of customer service with the company was horrible.

The store just cancelled our appointment without any explanation two days before our scheduled date, and the next available appointment is two months away. I understand that things happen, but no one tried to fit us in or help reschedule our appointment sooner. They just told us to go to the online schedule and hopefully something would open up. Luckily our wedding is 3.5 months out, but another couple might have to scramble. Needless to say, we will be finding suits elsewhere for our wedding party. Terrible.

Evelyn Price: Wow, five-star service from start to finish. We were lucky enough to walk in while someone else made a cancellation, we took their spot for a few days later. SO GLAD WE DID! This was the sixth men's suit place we had visited trying to find a tux for prom. Every single person who worked there was friendly and very helpful. Especially our Black Tux appointed rep Christian, he was awesome! He helped my son find the perfect tux, he gave us his time and attention. He was professional, courteous and made my son feel like a million bucks. I can't say enough good things about our experience- the top quality service and the high end look of their clothing. Having just visited a number of other places with horrible service and shabby products, The Black Tux at Nordstrom is where we will go for all our future needs, many thanks to Christian!

Jon Schwartz: Review is not for this location specifically but the company overall. Might be the worst service (complete lack thereof) I've ever dealt with. Not only can I not contact anyone with my issues, but the automated systems they use for changing dates and managing orders does not work at all. No responses via phone or email.My brother has had his wedding delayed twice due to COVID. We were able to change the date once, but their website wont register a second date changed for the event no matter what we do, so all the groomsmen have received their fitting tuxes a year in advance (despite having placed a hold on the orders). I placed a hold on the order in their system, they still sent a tux. I called every location I could and the central number, waited over an hour and a half on each, never spoke to anyone or even an automated support system. I have support tickets that have sat open with no response for weeks. This is pathetic.UPDATE (5/25/2021): Customer service responded and directed me to send back the suit. They've now updated the date of the event on their end. Pretty straightforward fix; still, 3 week response time for myself and some of the groomsmen never heard back from customer service (and sent suits back just because I let them know what I'd been told). At least they were eventually able to get it right.

James Knott: I have had an appointment to be fitted for two months. Now three days before the fitting they cancelled because the "ambassador is not available." They offered me another fitting appointment on the 4th of July which is 9 days before my wedding. If they couldn't fit me, they should have told me two months ago when I booked the appointment. If these people can't commit to an appointment, I would not trust them to get me my tux on time.

Sydney Oldroyd: This review is for black tux in general. We had an awesome experience at natick everything went perfectly in September to order and reserve our tux for our December wedding. Here I am about a week before I leave for my destination wedding and after calling the black tux every day this week I finally had an answer as to why my suit hasn’t shipped yet.Not a single item we paid for and reserved is in stock in our sizing. I assume I wasn’t going to find this out since I received no emails stating items were out of stock. I now have to receive larger items and hopefully I am able to hem them. We ordered a size 30 inseam that would be hemmed to a 28. I now have to order a 34 inseam and try and hem it (without cutting fabric). Suit jacket and shirt were also not available so we have a larger jacket and a smaller shirt with a collar extender. I was offered no explanation other than it’s a popular suit. I was offered no solution other than “we are trying our best to get you SOMETHING”. Avoid this place all together especially if this is for your wedding it’s unnecessary stress I am dealing with in the week leading up to my big day.

Unfortunately, it seems that this store has NOT addressed the myriad complaints from other customers and continues to ship out tuxes within days of the wedding that are either missing pieces or do not fit (unless high-water pants are the new thing).This was the case for half of the groomsmen, who are now left scrambling to find a solution with only a week remaining before the wedding. One groomsman was told his tux arrived without a dress shirt because they don't carry the shirt in his size...leaving us to wonder how this was not communicated months ago when the tuxes were originally ordered. The store's solution was for the groomsman to shop around for a replacement shirt at Nordstrom - but they refused to reimburse for the full amount of the new shirt. The lack of customer service is beyond disappointing, especially in this clear-cut case of store/employee oversight.I would highly suggest considering a mom and pop shop - most have on-site tailors and are willing to give personalized attention rather than canned corporate-driven solutions.

I picked up Nephew's Jacket for his Prom, I explained to the individual working at store that the jacket was already paid by my Nephew. He insisted in telling me that the jacket was not paid. Did not bother to confirm if the jack was paid. He charged me again. I called Jim on Tuesday 5/31/22, Jim did not want to hear about a double charged, claimed he was busy, called him back on Wed 6/1 and Thursday 6/2 to get $$ credited. Jim very Rude/ Unprofessional did not want to hear that they overcharged. Still trying to get credit back the extra charge. Family will no longer being using Formalwear in Waltham. Jim needs to work on his attitude towards his clients when he and his teams make an error instead of being RUDE and OBNOXIOUS with his clients.!

Eric Shediac: My son needed a tux for his prom. Jim was fantastic even though we were arriving 5 minutes before closing time because my son attends school in Boston. Jim took the time to measure my son and then size him with a few different styles of coats. The day we were picking up, again we were arriving with five minutes to spare. Jim took the time to have my son try on the coat and trousers. Jim even took the time to hem the trouser legs to my son's liking. We left the store a half-hour after closing time. Jim never once made us feel rushed. Very professional and great customer service!

Jim kept the store open an extra 45-minutes after hours to make sure I got a suit. He didn't just put any last-minute suit together, though. This suit was a perfect fit and looked fantastic! I drove straight to the event with no time to spare and received several compliments on the suit Jim and I had just picked out minutes ago. The cherry on top was returning the suit a day late. I was fully prepared to pay a late fee, already thrilled with the service I received, but Jim said not to worry about it. You just don't get customer service like that these days. Formalwear Limited is worth every penny!

Rich Sands: I had a complicated rental and Jason Anthony handled it perfectly. I was going to Morocco for a destination wedding followed by a long holiday out of the country, and needed something "creative black tie". I picked a really slick red tux jacket, black and red polka dot tie, and the rest the regular tux stuff. JAFW looked at the timing and because I needed the tux for such a long time, they did a double rental period but adjusted the timing and pricing to help me save some $. The tux looked PERFECT and was sized just right - I was one of the best-dressed guys at this event where people were really dressed to the 9s. I will definitely use JAFW again if I need a formal wear rental, and recommend them highly. They delivered superior service, and a special look that really made this rental totally worth it!

I came here for a tuxedo rental and left very happy with the overall experience - reasonable pricing, several rental options to fit within your desired budget, helpful and friendly staff, but most importantly the final tailoring was top notch and I got the exact fit I was looking for.Leo conducted my consultation and fitting - he asked several questions along the way and had suggestions to get me into what I had in my mind. There was a slight hiccup when I went to pick up the rental where the styling and tailoring was different from what I thought we had settled on in the fitting (almost seemed like they gave me someone else's rental), but to their credit Leo and staff quickly made it right and had me looking sharp.This will be the go-to spot for me whenever I need another rental.

My wife and I visited it last summer as we passed it on Newbury Street and were greeted by Leo who went over the whole process with us and what they offer. We then set up a formal appointment to go over options. I chose to get a custom fitted suit from them, and they couldn’t have been more helpful and patient with me when it came to choosing all the options. Leo gave plenty of fashion and style suggestions along the way, which I completely appreciated. When my suit came in, it was perfectly made, only needing some minor tailoring, some of which they were able to do right there with their amazing tailors as I waited, eliminating the need to make more trips. Leo really makes an effort to make sure you really like how it fits you and will make as many adjustments as you need.I was so impressed with my suit that I decided to also have a custom jacket made for my rehearsal dinner. Again, Leo went through all the options with me going over many fabrics and styles. Just like the suit, the jacket came out great. I also ended up renting a Tuxedo from them as well for a black-tie wedding, and that process was incredibly smooth and easy.I recommend Classic Tuxedo to anyone looking for a suit for any reason in the Boston area. They went above and beyond for me to make sure the service they provided was nothing short of excellent and outstanding!I first came across their establishment a day before my wedding day when my previous tuxedo rental store (unnamed) entirely let me down with my rental. It didn’t fit in any aspect & I was left with less than 24 hours to try and find a replacement elsewhere.Luckily Jamile and Classic Tuxedeo were extremely accommodating of this and as an emergency was able to assist me in finding a tux that was perfect for my wedding in an extremely timely manner! I walked away after less than two hours with a perfectly fitted tux that I loved, despite the fact that my wedding was on the same day just hours after my appointment! I cannot speak highly enough of the service they provided. Not only are they knowledgeable, efficient & amazing at what they do, they also provide some of the best service in the industry. I would recommend this establishment to anyone!Jamile especially, was amazing & overall provided one of the most stress free & smooth experiences I have ever encountered when it comes to renting a tux. Despite the limited time I gave them. She thoroughly explained the process of picking out the design I liked, made great recommendations and left me feeling beyond satisfied with the results! Emily Rencsok: In preparation for my wedding, I wanted to find a tuxedo that was the perfect fit and that had just a bit of personalization while keeping the classic look. Leo happily walked me through the entire process. He gave me plenty of suggestions based on what was popular and made sense based on my vision and sizes, but also made sure I knew what all of the options were so that I was free to choose. We were able to plan out the timeline for creating the tuxedo so that I would be able to test its fit multiple times leading up to the wedding, and everything was executed perfectly. The tuxedo itself was everything I’d hoped for both in look and feel. It matched the classic look, but I was able to throw in an inner lining that tied back to my Chinese heritage and some stitching that commemorated the wedding date (both of which I learned about from Leo). I even got some shoes and a shirt here that I had loved during one of my fittings. Overall, the service had been incredible, the outfit came out wonderfully, and I would absolutely recommend them to anyone else looking for a tux.

Ahead of my wedding, Leo led me through a thoughtful consultative process that laid out all my options, kept me in my budget, taught me a thing or two, and ultimately made me feel like a million bucks in the tux I’ve always wanted to own. On each visit, I felt like the center of the universe — a testament to the level of care Leo and his team put into each customer’s experience. I even had to reschedule a couple fittings at the last minute, but the team always made it work. An investment in a tuxedo is an investment in yourself, so make sure to block off the time that you, the Classic Tux team, and the process, all deserve. Trust the team because you will look amazing.

Blake Smith: Prior to my appointment I had a few bad experiences with other stores (unnamed) and I showed up for my appointment not expecting anything different. But I saw the 5 star reviews on here and trusted others' experiences and went for it. I truly *cannot recommend Classic Tuxedo enough*. This place is worth 10 stars both for the quality of their clothing and their staff. Leo helped me during my first appointment and tailored a tuxedo better than anyone I've ever experienced. I showed up 2 weeks later for a fitting in a perfect tuxedo, but Leo is such a perfectionist that we tailored a few more items. On my final fitting we even had the tailor (who does remarkable work) do some last minute alterations on the spot and I walked out with the most incredible, beautifully tailored tuxedo in a matter of weeks. Classic Tuxedo has every option you could ever want and more. Note that if you want a truly custom tuxedo, make sure to come months prior to your event, whereas a fitted/tailored tuxedo with one of their designs on the shelf can be done much quicker. If you're a groom looking to find a tuxedo for your wedding - even if you have no idea what you like - definitely make an appointment at Classic Tuxedo because they know what they're doing, they're incredibly honest with how the different designs fit you, and they're professionals above all else. Classic Tuxedo, Leo, and the rest of their staff are the absolute best!

Armon Shariati: For those reading this review, look no further.I am no stranger to high quality mens formalwear. For all my life I've bought designer suits from the likes of Armani, Zegna, and Boss, at big name department stores and constantly found myself increasingly frustrated with not just the product but the overall experience. I could justify the exorbitant price if only I didn't have to deal with amateur salesmen/women who are only concerned with making the sale at all costs, and a suit, which despite the high quality fabric, never quite fit exactly right.Now enter Leo, and the folks at Classic Tuxedo.I was originally skeptical at trying the whole bespoke suit experience at a small business shop. It is a significant price commitment up front (although less than or equal to the designer alternative) and you obviously don't know what you are buying ahead of time. However, after seeing the insanely high number of 5 star reviews and its location on Newbury street, I thought this place had to be noteworthy to be able to make rent. Finally, with the push from my fiancé to have my wedding suit made by them, I relented.It was easily one of the best decisions I've ever made.Leo, who assisted me, is truly a professional. I walked in the first day justifiably defensive based on previously mentioned suit shopping experiences. However, my guard quickly melted away as he made no effort to push any single product on me, and instead he thoughtfully listened to exactly what I had in mind. The first suit he pulled off the rack to give me an idea as to the type of style/fit I might be interested for my custom fit me perfectly. I was stunned. How was this even possible within 10 minutes of meeting me and not a single measurement yet? And it only got better.He patiently went through every minutiae of the custom design details with me for the hour we had scheduled. He provided not just a menu of options, but really thoughtful recommendations and suggestions based on my personal tastes and styles, which I loved. The final product is by far the best suit I have ever owned made of the same high quality Super 130 merino wool fabric as my old Armani suits.I loved their work so much I've even brought them my older Italian suits which I had never quite enjoyed the fit of, to see what they could do. The results were again better than I could have dreamed of.In summary, places like these are simply hard to come by anymore. A group of talented craftsmen who care about their art, and moreover, care about their customers.

Arthur Wilson: Can't say enough about this place. Came here to buy a suit for my wedding and for my groomsmen to get their rentals. Leo was incredibly helpful and great to work with. I wasn't really sure what I wanted to go with at the beginning so he was super helpful in finding the right look and having it tailored properly to have everything fit the way it should. Also had a custom vest made that was exactly what I was hoping for. They were super organized and timely with getting all 8 of my groomsmen fitted and looking sharp. Great price on everything too- a few of my groomsmen even bought their rentals as it was only another $70 or so to buy the full suit. They also shipped one of the rentals to my brother-in-law who lives out of state. It fit perfectly with the online measurement form he submitted and arrived in time. Honestly so glad I went here after checking out a few other places on Newbury Street that were just wedding factories with poor service. Amazing service, price, and quality at Classic Tux. Thanks Leo!
