Veterinary Emergency Group: what do users think?
John G Harrison: Our cat Guster has a skin condition that worsened suddenly. We brought him to VEG in Fresh Pond to have him checked out and see what more we could do. The staff were welcoming and knowledgeable, the facilities are clean and comprehensive. Guster is a shy, lol skittish cat and the staff accommodated this, treating him in a private room and letting me stay with him. They also sent records to his regular vet to update them about this visit and treatment provided. Overall, we are pleased with the treatment he received and wouldn’t hesitate to go back.
Rich P71: My dog developed conjunctivitis and my vet was closed for Patriot's Day. I called VEG and they asked if I could come in soon as there was only 1 other dog in front of me. We hopped in the car and we were greeted at the door. The staff was friendly while being professional. We headed back to the big room, after the intake one of the techs was nice enough bring a mat over for my dog to lay down on, without me asking. Dr. Estes and the 4th year vet student were great with my dog. All of my questions were answered and their instructions for treatment were clear and easy to follow. We love our primary vet, but VEG is a great resource to have in North Cambridge/Fresh Pond area. Hopefully, we minimize any trips for emergency service, but if we do need emergency services, I won't hesitate to contact VEG.
Erin Drakes: Such a great experience! I had an emergency late at night and this location had immediate availability. Primrose was an amazing Vet-tech and was so sweet with my pup. The dr was down to earth, calm, patient, and upfront about options and pricing. I was in and out in 35 minutes. I will definitely be returning.
Janelle Browning: love this place. one of my dogs was suddenly experiencing acute pain in his back, and i took him to VEG on recommendation of a friend. they were quick and friendly and so kind and sweet to me and my paco. paco can be nervous with new people, but they put him as much at ease as he could have been in his current state. thanks to the quick, thorough care we got at VEG, he's back to his regular happy, bouncy self. i can't recommend these folks enough.
Kaitlin S: My husband and I went in the other afternoon after our little havanese broke her dew claw and was in pain. The whole experience was incredible. We were welcomed by the amazing receptionists and offered snacks and drinks, and they got us right into the main room where all the action happens. The transparency of VEG is awesome and so comforting. You get to be there for the whole process. Our dog Gracie was having a hard time cooperating and they let my husband lay on the floor with her to help. They were so kind and warm the whole time. Kristen Estes was our doctor and she was just the best. I wish she was our regular vet! She explained everything, took her time, and was so sweet. And they followed up with us to make sure she was doing okay. We will never go anywhere else for future emergencies. Thank you to everyone there!
Elias Gharios: Had to take my dog to the emergency room and had a great experience. They were quick, efficient, and explained everything so I understood what they were doing. Hopefully won’t have to use them much for emergencies but when I do I’ll be using them for now on. Even those who were not working on my dog came over to check in and see how he was doing. Highly recommend.
Rachel Wilson: We love them!! So attentive, kind, clean, professional, and inclusive. We felt very supported here and are very appreciative.
Rick Seidman: These are the nicest caring people to bring your little buddy to if you need emergency care.
Yvonne Kalunga: Everyone is incredible here and welcoming. I brought my kitty here because he was acting very unlike himself and hiding which was unlike him, and after his care here he has fully recovered after his visit. They even called me the day after to make sure he was improving and this meant so much to me especially because I did have questions afterwards. Any question or concern I had never seemed annoying and that was very reassuring through this stressful time for me. Also everything was cleanly and in very good condition I felt comfortable while waiting, overall a wonderful place and you can count on them to give your furry loved one amazing care.
Alicia Lavoie: We had to bring our 12 week old pup into the ER this week, when we walked through the doors we were instantly greeted by nurses & Dr Kim. They were all so good with Teddy and very informative in explaining what they would do. Teddy is doing awesome, I highly recommend this hospital if you are ever in need of vet ER. (Bonus we were in & out within 2 hours)
Kendra West: No one ever wants to need an emergency vet, but if you do need one VEG is the choice. I brought my cat in with a cardiac emergency and the team was professional, quick, and caring- ensuring that not only my pet's needs were taken care of, but that my needs were taken care of as well. Dr. Beckwith was especially attentive to my questions and patient while explaining my pet's condition and what she was learning in real-time from his test results. I felt supported and informed of everything happening with my boy. Thanks to all the VEG team for your care and attention with helping my cat!
Chelsey Greer: I brought in my cat, Buttcheeks, when she was sneezing blood. I was obviously freaking out and the staff was very understanding and considerate. The actual concept of the space was inviting; the exam area was just one open giant room where the vets took turns seeing each patient. We ended up in the isolation room though, but I still appreciated the idea. The nurse and vet were extra caring with my Buttcheeks as she gets extremely unsettled in vet settings and normally has to be sedated, but I did not sedate her this time around. The receptionists were lovely as well. To top it off, they had free snackies and even texted the next day to check on her which I was not expecting and really appreciated. I hope to never be back as this is an emergency vet but if I ever need to seek care again where I know she is in good hands, I know where to go. Don't even hesitate going here, stay far far away from other emergency vets in the area (particularly in Woburn.................) and do both you and your pet a favor and come here!!
Kate Russell: Everyone at VEG is amazing - from the front desk staff to the doctors and nurses, they are incredible at what they do! Our dog unfortunately has had a few injuries so we have visited several times. Every time we feel totally confident our pup is getting the best care. I honestly don't know what we would do without VEG - it's such a comfort knowing such amazing care is so close by if we have another emergency. Can't recommend them enough!
Lisa Dupont: My name is Cathy and I brought my dog turbo for a visit at the VEG in Cambridge Ma and they were awesome. I love the service they give, also the care and the love they give these animals the minute you walk threw that door you know that you’re in the right place. I wouldn’t have it any other way. I love this emergency room it’s the best around. This lace is like family that’s the way they make you feel the minute you get there. So I would recommend this animal hospital to anyone. I love this place they have the best service around. They take you right in with open arms and make you feel right at home just like you should feel. So yes I think if you need an emergency room for your pet well this is the pet hospital for you. I wish the best to all the team members at the VEG IN CAMBRIDGE….Cathy L
Elena Haro: Everyone was so kind and incredibly helpful!
Anna Kazimer: I want to thank Dr. Perry and everyone at VEG. I had to bring in my Springer Spaniel, Audrey, in last week for an emergency. The moment I walked in there were over 5 people immediately there to help out. Within minutes she had an X-ray. I was able to stay by her side the entire time. Unfortunately, Audrey did not make it, but they did make the entire experience less traumatic. They walked me through everything and ultimately helped me decided that it was best to put her down. I was given plenty of time to be alone with her until I was ready to say my goodbyes and even after that was allowed to stay until I felt okay to leave her side. Thank you everyone for your amazing care and compassion.
Morgan Miller: I had a wonderful experience at the Veterinary Emergency Group. I was very concerned about my dog, so I called VEG to get advice on whether I should be concerned. The person I talked to was very friendly and helpful. Once we got to VEG, we were taken back immediately and everyone was very nice and helpful. The doctors explained everything very clear and gave me options on how to proceed with treatment. The doctors performed the exam and treatment with me there and my dog was never far from me, which was very reassuring when I was so concerned. The doctors even followed up the next day to check in on my dog. Overall, I was very impressed by the kind and helpful staff at VEG.
Philippe Klaus: They were so wonderful to myself and my Cat . They were extremely professional and treated us like family! Helped with financial issues. They even offered coffee and water to me. While they took care of Finnegan my 10 year old cat. Highly recommend them
Siobhan Cintron: Special shout out to Dr. Mccoy, I needed to bring my kitten there due to her being ill and Dr. Mccoy was very compassionate and educated me about everything that was happening with my baby. She even described the bloodwork/exam down to a T for me.The rest of the staff there was also very loving towards my baby, handling her with care. They were all very very welcoming towards myself and partner. We were asked several times if we needed anything-drinks, snacks etc.The facility was extremely clean and there was also no wait time. We walked in came right to the back with our baby and stayed with her the entire time. Between the staff and facility I felt like my baby was in the best of care.Overall I will always recommend VEG to any of my friends to bring their sick babies
Donna Foley-Hodges: It was 10:00pm and didn't!t know if the symptoms my cat was showing was an emergency. A friend who was visiting suggested I call VEG. She said that I could call and ask a question. She said they were located in Fresh Pond Mall area. So i did. They listened to my story and asked a few questions. They suggested i come in with the cat right away. Now it was close to midnight when we arrived. It was a wonderful open space with a team of people working with other animals. We were seen promptly. They took my cat quickly to examine while a staff technician asked me questions and was typing into the computer and another was taking vitals etc. The veterinarian was examining my cat and leading the group in what was needed next. Needless to say My cat needed to stay overnight for close observation of her glucose levels. They worked closely with my Vet by sending all the records to them in the morning.i was so impressed with the full range of staff and expertise they showed and how well they all worked together as a team. They were friendly and caring of my dear pet and of me. I would recommend VEG highly.
dawn adkins: The staff was incredible. Diagnosis was great. I only wish they could be regular primary care. Doctors for our pets are awesome..

Cambridge Veterinary Care: what do users think?
Erica Thomas: The office is clean and staff is kind and attentive.
Arleen Henry: Great experience. My newly adopted Pet needed to be seen soon as he was on a Prescription Diet. They were wonderful; helped me by calling the place I'd ordered his food from saying it was approved by his new Veterinarian.
Julia Schlegel: We had so many negative experiences with vets who did not know how to handle our dog who is just a bit anxious at the vet. The team at Cambridge Veterinary Care is very knowledgeable in terms of behavior, and our dog has always received excellent care and treatment.
Kurt Washington Alcantara De Souza: Personal experience with the front end people is beyond belief.
Cynthia Coleman: I’m a new dog owner and had a lot of questions about caring for my dog; at Cambridge care they were able to give me guidance about caring for my dog. The staff has been very kind, caring, and patient. I like the fact the vets are straight forward. They will work with you to help your dog to be at their very best. If you’re looking for a good vet care then this is the place I would recommend.
Goreti Silva: Critical:ReliabilityNot sure now, 2 appointments canceled, gave wrong paperwork and I don't think they care anymore. Still waiting on an appointment that they said she needed
Jonathan Haar: They saved our dog’s life twice and gave us another year and a half with her though their care. They were the only people who could cut her nails and survive. Dr. Weiner is an expert in dental health if that is important to you. He is a funny guy, and cares a lot more than you would know by meeting him. He will do a great job and the staff are all wonderful.
Sandra Figueroa: Great place. Very nice people. Quick visits and very detailed on how your pet is doing and what if anything is needed. They answer all your questions politely and you don’t feel rushed. Would recommend 100%.
semalina23: the staff, and Dr are very nice here. I could not continue my care for my kitten because the costs exceed my budget for what my insurance does not cover. However, they are prompt and they are good at what they do.
Ryan Lee-Young: I was admittedly skeptical on this clinic based on the spotty historical reviews. It seems the poor past experiences stemmed from one particular vet, but my experience with the receptionist, Justin (the tech), and Dr. Peabody was hands down the best vet experience I’ve had in the Somerville/Cambridge/Medford area. Justin was very patient over email in answering all my questions, specifically generating a pre-invoice so I knew exactly what services I was getting and how much they cost. Dr. Peabody was similarly patient and willing to spend as much or as little time discussing our pup as needed. And the clinic gave our little guy a goodie bag when we were headed out! While I can’t speak for the past experiences with a particular vet at this clinic, if you ask for Justin and Dr. Peabody I’m confident you won’t be disappointed!
SJ BG: Dr Weiner has been taking care of my cat for 16 years and I've been so pleased with the care received. He gives very clear, concise, straightforward advice and always reports back with lab results within 1-2 days explaining what the values mean, which I really appreciate. He and/or his staff are very responsive on email when I have in-between visit questions. Front desk staff are always warm and friendly, as is the office cat. :)
Jessica Beltran: They’re always so gentle and welcoming to me and my cat. Plus, their two “office” cats make it feel really homey.
Amanda Donahue: I, unfortunately, have to echo other concerning comments around this vet. The concern here is not primarily cost, but that our pet received subpar care and we were not listened to. I don't enjoy being overcharged, but I particularly find it off putting when it involves my pet getting unnecessary work and then not catching actual health issues. I have lived in cities my whole life, and have lived in the Cambridge and Boston area for five years. These prices are by no means the norm and nor is this type of care. I am leaving this review because my pet means a lot to me, and I don't want others to have this experience. We (my partner and I) adopted a cat from a shelter several months ago, and despite the negative reviews we ended up booking an appointment (other places were still working through the COVID-19 pet boom). We have been to other vets in the past, in the area, and I am not trying to nickel and dime on my animal's care, but I know when a place is trying to squeeze out every dollar without effort when:A. Costs are not made clear from the beginning and there is pushback for even trying to ask beforehand.B. Unnecessary treatments and procedures are recommended and even done without prior conversation. We were not in the room with our pet during the exam, thus the no prior conversation comment. It may be due to COVID-19, which is fine, but the vet himself had no mask on when speaking to us which we found very rude (this is Delta time). Also, I use the word unnecessary because we are now with another vet in the area who told us what was done to our pet was not needed. And on top of that they actually completely missed a condition our cat did have that we explicitly asked them to check.C. The vet themselves doesn't ask when finally meeting with you directly "Any questions?" or "Did I address your concerns?" They took our cat into a room and just did whatever they wanted without addressing what we had brought up as concerns prior to the visit. I try not to assume someone's whole personality or mindset, but I would hope the number of reviews citing the vet's perceived rudeness and indifference would lead to some changes.
colin Mann: The employees are all nice and helpful and they were the only place that had appointments within a month. However, this may be due to their relatively high costs.
Mingquan Wang: Worst vet experience ever. The nurses were all nice, but the vet is a disaster. He was super rude and tried to rush us even if we arrived like 10 minutes before the appointment. They did a rabies blood test on our dog and charged us $600, and in other clinics they only charged $250. Oh also charged $80 on examination fee but didn’t communicate with us at all, but send the nurse out to collect our credit card. If you love you furry friends, don’t even bother bringing them here.
Wesley Clawson: The staff were nice, however the vet himself was unconcerned and rude. Every time you visit, regardless of the reason they charge $65 for a 'check-up' that lasts ~30 seconds. The worst part of their service is constantly trying to up-sell you any and all products they have.Extremely disappointed and do not recommend. There are many other vets in the area that are worth considering over this one.
Ramesh Govindan: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Reliability,Responsiveness,ValueDr. Weiner was thorough, pragmatic, and informative and took good care of my two senior cats at their checkup. Would definitely recommend them!
Lydia Ruth Dawson: Positive:ProfessionalismA bit pricey, but good prompt, no-frills service.
Noe Kamelamela: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Reliability,Responsiveness,ValueThey have been particularly good during the pandemic: they setup appointments over the internet, and are willing to do curbside service for owners who may be unable to wait inside with other people. Their service with our cats have been impeccable and sensitive.
Angelique Gilbert: We were quoted over $2000 for a procedure to remove some of my cats teeth. They failed to mention his poor teeth condition on his initial visit as well. We took him over to Porter Square Vet and they did about 7 extractions and a cleaning for only $900. They are definitely overcharging here.
Terry Volles: Excellent! The doctor and staff were very nice. I was visiting Cambridge from New York State with my dogs when they became ill. When I called and asked about getting an appointment, I was able to get in the same day. How kind and caring that they welcomed me and my dogs to the practice. The dogs received great care and are now on medicine to deal with the problem. Thank you, Dr. Weiner!

PetMedic Urgent Care Vet Clinic: what do users think?
Cheryl Pongratz: So easy to book and wonderful care!
carol saul: My pup was a new pt and the staff was like family. I was able to be with her and participate in keeping her calm for the exam. The vet and all staff were beyond professional and friendly. Clinic is very clean and efficient. Highly recommended!!
Nancy Crowley: Had an emergency on Easter and Dr Moynihan was wonderful. Katelyn and the staff took wonderful care of our little dog who needed a small procedure requiring sedation. We felt she was very well cared for from the moment we brought her in. Several days later we returned to have her drain removed and Maddy was so kind and reassuring. Would definitely recommend PetMedic!!
Mallory P: I’ve only had the experience using the Dermatology Dept. at PetMedic and words cannot describe how indebted I feel to everyone here. The Doctor, her staff and everyone in the front reception area (in person and on the phone) are beyond remarkable. My French Bulldog had allergies, as do many, and finding a Doctor and an entire staff that truly care seemed impossible. I live in Boston and had gone to all the usual places…try this, do that, don’t do this, etc…I tried and did everything and paid thousands of dollars to relieve my pups constant suffering of licking and scratching himself. On one occasion I paid $75 for one Diphenhydramine pill. Please know it’s not about the money but letting others know how much it is about the money at so many other veterinary services. By the way, Diphenhydramine is the most commonly known by its brand name…Benadryl. Yes…$75 for one Benadryl.I am an extremely curious person who wants to be educated so I ask all the questions, but could never seem to extract any true or real answers about what could be making my dog jack so ill. I know allergies and it can be tough to determine the cause. However, I couldn’t seem to find anyone that would evenmention trying to find the cause of his issues or even spend more than 5 minutes looking at him.I found the dermatologist at PetMedic by simply using Google because no other veterinary business would even recommend a Dermatologist. Nothing.I made an appointment and this is when I met Dr. Christine McKinney Zewe, DVM, DACVD. She and her staff changed both my dogs life and mine. Dr. McKinney literally took the time to get to know Jack, all of his history with allergies and everything I had done to help him. She spent so much time with me explaining everything about allergies, the symptoms, the causes and the different things you can do. She made me feel so comfortable and confident with what she recommended as a plan. I took all her advice without hesitation, said goodbye, thanked everyone and since that first visit…problem solved!!!My dog, Jack does not scratch, itch his ears, or constantly lick whatever he could reach. He is happy, this is what matters and why we want to try and do anything a veterinarian tells us to. They will take advantage of you until they can’t.The people at PetMedic are an extraordinary group of people who truly and deeply care about your pets health and wellbeing as well as educating pet owners about issues and how they can help in your situation. I obviously can’t say enough about everyone at PetMedic.Thank you so much for all you do, for both pets and their families.
Michael Gray: Great and timely service when I was desperate to see a vet with my kitten who was having GI issues. The Dr. was very helpful explaining options and putting a wellness plan together to get him back on track.
Peggy DeJoy: This place was so very wonderful in every way. Everyone was so kind, friendly and careing. I would highly recommend them to everyone
Meg: I’m very happy I was able to take my sick kitty here!!It was Easter Sunday yesterday and my cat started vomiting and displaying some symptoms a couple days before. I didn’t have any issues reserving an appointment and they sent me updates regularly while I waited in my car (they are currently curbside only).I was pretty emotional when I got there because my cat doesn’t travel well at all and he was howling and panting during the car ride. I called them when I got to the parking lot and they let me drop him off with them a bit before his appointment so they could keep an eye on him and make sure he was comfortable and okay 3The doctor that treated him took time to get an extensive history and timeline, gave me great advice, and sent him home hydrated and with a good plan on what to do next. When I asked if she had any suggestions for a routine veterinarian (I recently moved to Boston from Vermont and haven’t found a local veterinarian yet) one of the techs immediately chimed in and told me they’d give me a list of local providers (which they did). I would 100% recommend them, they’re a wonderful team and I’m so glad Scamp got the care he deserves!!
Jennifer Valencia: Took my cat here after a bought of not eating and vomiting. ERs nearby were all 4-6 hour waits but PetMedic Urgent Care had an open appointment that day and got us right in. Cats hate being in cars and away from home so having an appointment took a lot of stress off our shoulders because we knew we wouldn’t have too long of a wait. They took great care of Dooney and I was impressed with their capabilities. Blood work and Xrays came back within 20 minutes (not what I was expecting with Urgent Care). Doctor took a lot of time with me explaining what he found during exam, and the nurses and front desk people I spoke with were all very friendly. Great care and attention to detail here. Would definitely come back here if we ever needed it!
Joanie Freidman: Amazing staff! They were all so very kind and made the process so easy for my little cavapoo who does not like the vet! They even had follow up calls to be sure he was good the next day. I highly recommend them! I had been referred to them by our vet who could not see him.
Ana Freal: Every time I brought my dog there was great and fast. The employees are very kind too!
Bella Nardone: Such a great place, nice staff and so helpful! They took care of my dog and made me feel confident that he was in good hands!
Jacqueline Jase: Excellent experience! Would highly recommend. Able to get an appt within the hour, vet and staff super helpful and knowledgeable. Very grateful for the assistance!
Courtney Scott: I can not find the words to begin to explain how thankful I am for this clinic and its staff. Being from out of town and new to the city is scary enough on its own but when your fur child gets sick (and I mean VERY sick) it's terrifying on an entirely different level. Times are hard financially for everyone right now and the compassion, kindness, and patience my wife and I received was phenomenal, and the level of care Harley recieved was top tier and exceeded any possible expectation i could of ever had. I can't recommend this place enough! They saved much more than just our dog today I promise you that! If you're wondering whether or not to take your pet here, my humble advice is just do it!!!! I assure you you won't regret it!!!!
Maureen McKibben: My dog was very sick. I called ahead and got an appointment. The vet and everyone there is great. This was my first visit and I was very impressed. My dog is doing much better, thanks to their care. I highly recommend PetMedic.
Eugenia Valerie Clifford: This clinic is fast, friendly and has highly professional service!Check in was easy with minimal paperwork. Late night chocolate ingestion incident was resolved very quickly. I definitely recommend this place.
Rene Yang: We ended up at PetMedic this past Sunday. I called at 10 am right when they open, and we were able to see the vet at 11:30 am. (only Charlie, while I wait in the car- since they are doing curbside only, and that is okay with me). My baby boy is feeling better and it's on the mend. Thank you Dr. Weintraub and the team. Charlie had blood work done, and sent home with various meds- for an emergency visit, the price is reasonable (though our babies are priceless!) . I am so glad I made the choice to brought him to urgent care and not have to wait the next day for regular vet visit. The nurse even call Monday to check in to see how he is feeling. I highly recommended theirs vet!
Sara Lee: This is my second experience with Petmedic Urgent Care in Watertown.Latst year, our Boxer girl needed stitches. This time, our Boxer boy had kennel cough. We had such a great experience with them the first time, that I decided to go back.I can't say how much I appreciate the excellent care there! They were so kind to our boy, and he got the treatment that he needed right away.I recommend them to anyone with a pet emergency!
Steve Buchanan: Needed to bring my dog to get an issue looked at. This was very out of the way from where I live but so glad I went. The booking process was seamless and my dog was in and out within a half hour. Couldn’t be happier with how everything went and they’re VERY reasonable with prices.
Jeanne Bearden: Have owned many large dogs over the years but new to the Boston area…the nurses and doctor were extremely caring, patient and articulate about the various options for treatment, keeping cost in mind!
Michaela Catino: I noticed for the past week or so my cat Jessy seemed uncomfortable and was scooting her bum on her blanket. I called my vet and they said they could not take her for weeks, however, they had recommended PetMedic Urgent Care. I looked them up online and was able to make an appointment for that day. They were on time for her appointment and made the visit as least stressful as possible and were great to communicate with. The entire staff— nurses and doctors (especially Dr. Krane) were so friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this clinic and will certainly be back. Thank you all so much!
Laura Hussong: My Lab ate another fabric toy before I could stop her. I called PetMedic on the advice of our emergency hospital and they told us to come right in. They took us right away and within 10 minutes the item came back up. They were so professional and caring, I would come back in a heartbeat. Knowing this dog I would say we will be back. Highly recommend this place and their wonderful staff.

Veterinary Emergency Group: what do users think?
Lisa Juan: Staff here are so nice and incredible. They were seriously genuine and loves animals. I would recommend everybody to come here. I came around 8pm on Sunday and there were so many staff here. Seriously appreciate them.
E. Rockwell: I would not recommend this group under any circumstance Poorly run, they do not keep vital supplies in stock and I am sorry I brought my pet here!
Nicole Naude: We’ve used VEG South End twice now for our spunky pup Luca, and both times he’s had excellent, compassionate, efficient care! We love the staff, the transparency about services and costs, and the facility layout has done wonders to keep us - and Luca - calm throughout our visits. We love our primary vet but for urgent care, VEG is our favorite!
Liinggnil Liu: Dr. Gephard is really professional and loving. She did wonderful work on C-section for our pregnant dogs. All the staff work there are so nice and caring. Definitely recommended.
Joseph Litto: Dr. Mader and Dr. Crowling we’re both wonderful caring and professional. The staff, was too! The energy and spirit of this VEG facility was brimming with kindness. Thanks to all so very very much.Dr. Walker, Ginger and family.
Brz3destined: Fantastic affordable they took great care of my dog
Fnova: The staff here is caring and compassionate. They make sure you understand what the plan will be to treat your pet, and keep you informed every step of the way. My Gem stayed over night and I was updated w/ pictures and a note of her progress. This is my go to place whenever my Gem needs to be seen urgently. I highly recommend!
Samantha Menke: We recently had to bring our cat Niles in to be treated for extreme constipation, and even with his heart condition complicating matters, the VEG team knew exactly what to do to help him. I want to personally shout out Jess, a vet tech there who made me feel comforted and heard when I couldn't stop crying before leaving our sweet boy for the night. She and other vet techs sent us photos and texts of Niles until I was able to bring him back home. I cannot begin to describe how much this meant to me.This wonderful team cares so so much, I'm so glad we brought our boy here, I can't imagine taking him anywhere else for help when he needs it most. VEG Boston is beyond compare, thank you all for what you do!!
Eliza: We brought our cat Oscar here twice. Unfortunately, the second time we had to say goodbye but we are grateful for the care he received. Dr. Gephard and the other staff were excellent and so kind. He was seen right away and his pain relieved quickly. We were given as much time as we needed with him. It was a terrible night but made easier by VEG.
Luv Resrch: Such a positive experience last Sat: the staff was compassionate, caring, efficient and professional. Dr. Milks, Lauren, Caitlin & the support staff were wonderful. I will not hesitate to return.
Alex Scott: Excellent people & service. VEG could not have exceeded my expectations more for inner city emergency vet treatment. Highly recommend.
Julia Carey: Such a sweet place took such great care of my puppy and made me feel so calm. Very understandable about prices. great place
Shelly Hedstrom: We have two middle-aged shelter cats with many health issues. They've been to many vets and ER rooms since we adopted them. Nothing compares to the care they received and the customer service we experienced at VEG!
Graelyn Humiston: The receptionist and veterinarian will dangle the possibility of a payment plan for desperate clients who can't pay the full cost upfront. There are no such payment plans, which may come as a surprise after multiple conversations attempting to explicitly establish their existence.Edit: I was not the client, my close friend was. I know the visit time, date, treatments, and cost :)
Ludovic Decultot: Brought in my dog for what turned out to be strong symptoms of kennel cough. The staff at VEG proved to be very responsive, caring, professional and friendly all along our visit. Every decision and procedure was well explained making me confident in the care my dog received. Blood work was done on site so rapid turn over and imaging was processed through an external company but was quick as well. I had the feeling that the best possible care was being provided without overprescribing with unnecessary procedures or medication. Would recommend and go back to VEG if needed!
Genoa Turner-Jones: We have taken our pets here on two different occasions. Both times we were treated so respectfully and with utter kindness. Our pets were so well cared for. It’s clear in how they managed our cats’ treatment that each pets health is their priority. I can’t recommend VEG enough!
Devin Singleton: I would give VEG 10 stars if I could! I've had not so great experiences with ER vets before so I came into it with low expectations. I was beyond impressed with the facility and the staff. They immediately calmed my nerves and took excellent care of my dog from the second we walked in. I would recommend to anyone and everyone!
Drew Twitchell: We recently had to bring our Golden Retriever Bauer to the Boston facility and without question would use their services again if we needed to. The care, compassion and responsiveness the team at VEG gives to your animals and yourself is what makes them so great! The ability to stay with your pet throughout the entire process is really something special. Thanks again VEG! Bauer is on the mend and will be back to his spunky self in no time!
Kristal Cardone: VEG on Stuart St. in Boston took absolutely amazing care of dog Rusty when he ruptured a disc in his back. I was in and out in just over an hour, including x-rays, medication and great instructions on how to care for him.I was able to communicate easily with the vet via text.In addition, all of their discharge materials, invoices and x-ray records were all very easy to read.I highly recommend VEG if you've got a pet emergency.Rusty is thankful feeling MUCH better. ♥️
Professor Loredana Padurean: Such a wonderful team! The clinic is beautiful and very pet and human friendly and very very inclusive of all kinds humans and pets. The doctors, nurses and staff is wonderful! They took time to learn about our needs and to let my dog become comfortable with the doctor. I only waited for 5 min believe it or not! But was Friday afternoon during a rainy day so who knows. Anyway, if you ever need an emergency vet I highly recommend it!
fabricia leal: wonderful professionals. Great service and care for the animals. they were great with my little Angel. Thanks VEGWanderly da Silva

Veterinary Emergency Group: what do users think?
Nicole Corcoran: I’ve taken my dog Stella here a few times and they have always taken excellent care of her. It’s been quick, they are incredibly kind to her, and it is clear how much the staff cares about the animals there. Whenever we are waiting Stella gets lots of pets from staff members walking by! We’ve gone when Stella has injured her paw, gotten ear infections, and once when she punctured an inhaler with her teeth and every time they’ve been knowledgeable, caring, and helpful. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a place for their pet
Katie Cupoli: I’ve been here a handful of times between my two dogs. The staff here is incredible and the doctors take the time to listen to you and go over every aspect of not only treatment but also break down every charge and send a detailed bill so you know exactly what you’re dealing with. I would recommend VEG 10/10 to anyone dealing with a pet emergency. Dr Kennedy is a doll she was very sweet and treated my pup with care.
SpazticLady 91: I have to say the people who work here are truly angels and I am so thankful for all that they did for me and my little girl
Cheryl S: This is the second time I have had to bring my diabetic pup in. I have had dogs for 40 years and they are ABSOLUTELY the BEST there is. Not only do they know what to do they really DO CARE. I have recommended them to all my friends with pets after the last issue with my little guy, and will continue to. If you live within an hour or so of Newton/Needham area and have an emergency they are the place to go! Great vets great PEOPLE! Thank you so much for the fantastic care of Cody and all the information to me to get through this little crisis too. I can hardly believe any company can find this many GREAT vets, nurses, techs and the front desk people. Caring and so supportive in very stressful times. You are lifesavers! And made me feel he was in the best hands possible!
Kristen DiMarzio: I brought my dog in after another dog went after him and he was limping and needed stitches. From the second we walked in, everyone was so kind to us and so caring toward my dog. They took great care of him and let me stay with him through the whole process.
Kristen Sack: Really great emergency vet. While the emergency fee seems steep, it is cheaper than most other emergency vets in the area and prices for treatments are quite reasonable. We have taken both our dog and one of our rats here and had excellent experiences both times. Love the open treatment area and allowing owners to be with their animals through all steps of treatment. Would definitely recommend for emergency situations!
Orbelina Erazo: My puppy mysteriously injured herself and needed stitches. The staff was incredibly kind & knowledgeable, you could see how much they care in the way they treated my pup. Their facility is also so clean and new. I'm so grateful they let me stay with my puppy for the whole procedure and recovery. We drove almost an hour to see them as our local ER was on divergence, but the level of care we received made the drive worth it and I would drive here again. So grateful for their amazing care!
Scott Schwartz: We were charged $1600 for an incorrect diagnosis. They diagnosed a urinary track infection which proved false visiting our regular vet - my dog just hurt his neck. In the meantime, they started the examination with all the expensive tests like x-ray and sonogram (vet had a difficult time using the equipment) which showed nothing - my dog did not swallow anything which I told them this. At the end, they had to draw blood twice and one of the vet technicians took a selfie while collecting urine because it was her first successful attempt doing this. Since this is a teaching hospital, you get a veterinarian in training. She did not know how to diagnose the issue but I have to pay for her training on my dog. I wish I went a couple of miles more to Boston West in Natick or MSPCA in Waltham for experienced staff and a lot less expense.
Elizabeth Sousa: The staff were incredibly kind and compassionate and treated my ill chicken with the same amount of care and respect that they would any other companion animal. VEG Newton will be our go to emergency hospital form now on. Thank you!
Andres Plaza: Everybody was so nice to our dog! Thank you!
Meghan Elaine Walsh: Went over & beyond for my Jasper ❤️ thank you! This will be my go to place when any of my animals are sick. The wait was quick, the prices were great for a checkup & stool sample, the woman at the front desk was a doll, they even got us a private room to sit in since my reptile would’ve been nervous with all the doggies & cats. Awesome place!
Jackie Levine: Truly an incredible experience! We noticed our dog’s eye wasn’t looking right and probably was infected. We called our normal vet, but it was a Saturday morning and they were booked up. Our vet highly recommended VEG. I can see why they spoke so highly of them — the entire process at VEG was fantastic from start to finish. The front desk staff got us checked in right away and we were quickly seen by Dr. Rovan and team. They promptly diagnosed the issue, explained things clearly and gave us medication to start right away. The entire process was smooth and never felt rushed, but we were in and out quickly! I really like the set up and how it’s an open space where you stay with your animal. No closed doors creates a really friendly and comforting feeling. Very much recommend VEG!
Amy Connell: We had to put my loyal cat down on a Friday evening. We took him to VEG in Newton, and I can’t say enough about how well they handled everything. We were very upset and all the team members were caring, compassionate and explained what was going to happen. My cat died with us by his side, knowing we were with him until the end. I highly recommend this vet hospital!
Chelsi Hanna: I would 1000% recommend VEG for any emergency services for your furry friend. We drove from Weymouth (which is about 30 minutes away) solely based off the reviews we have read about this group of amazing individuals instead of going to the VCA right down the street from us. The moment we walked in with our 2 year old pup we were met with kindness from all the facility staff. After 48 hours of not knowing what was going on with Bindi at home, 30 minutes with Dr. Krone and her team established one of the fastest care plans I have ever seen. All the vet technicians were very nice and had great personalities which made my nerves and anxiety disappear. They made sure to explain Bindi’s discharge and medication instructions thoroughly and answered all of our questions. Bindi is finally home and slept through the night after 2 days. We will definitely be returning for any future emergencies. Thank you again Dr Krone and your team for being so great and doing what you guys do BEST. Please enjoy two photos of Bindi during and after her visit with VEG.
Helen Shakira Flores Piza: Friendly staff, clean facility, and competitive pricing.
Cari M: They are amazing, caring and friendly. This is not your typical vet where they take your dog and do everything behind closed doors. This place lets you be part of every step in your pets process. My dog needed surgery which is both, scary and expensive but they were so welcoming and made us feel extremely comfortable. Would recommend!
Katrina Freitas: My cat is a really big diva. Bombays tend to be pretty bossy and VEG did such a great job handling my furbaby while she had the poos and a bad UTI. From the bottom of my heart I give a big Thank you to Dr Lauren Krone, Janine, Kelly, the vet techs and vet assistants for helping my cat and helping her with her pain symptoms. Yesterday was so stressful and I feel so much relief knowing my cat is going to be healthy again.I could walk straight into the hospital ER and watch my pet as she was being cared for. The staff were so friendly compassionate and I never once felt judged. They helped put me at ease with my cats pain and ensured that my pet got the help she needed. They respected my cats needs and honored every detail I asked for. They gave her liquid meds, gave her a sanitary shave, an xray, and a bath. They even trimmed her nails and gave us anti-diarrhea meds to take home.I always go to VEG for my pet emergencies. The Newton location showed so much professionalism, compassion, and courteousness 3/10. They explain my bill to me before they charged me so I dont get the sticker shock. These kinds of emergencies are always going to have a cost. Spending your money here is WORTH IT because of how humane the treatment is for pet owners and their pets. Vets and vet staff members have really hard stressful jobs and the VEG Newton staff represented so much resilience and graciousness during my visit. They cared about my feelings (and my cats feelings) and they empathized with me about my concerns. They let me watch my cat as shes being xrayed and explained her bloodwork results effectively to me.The receptionist Kelly had the funniest charismatic personality and made me feel so relaxed as I paid my bill. She gave my boyfriend water. She helped me get a list of new primary care vets in my area. This whole vet trip start to finish had A+ customer service and I appreciate how much the staff went above and beyond to help my cat. Thanks again VEG Newton!
Taylor Apostol: Amazing, friendly, and professional! Brought my cat Astro here at 3am for emergency care and they helped immediately. Let me stay with him, watch and explained everything they were doing. Having him here for almost three days was tough but it made it easier knowing he was in good hands. I appreciate all the staff for taking my 3-5 calls a day to check in and sending me pics! If I ever have another emergency I will be sure to go back here! A huge thank you to Dr. Jessica Bishop who was there when we brought him in and immediately knew what was wrong and what to do!
Melissa Faucher: A special thank you to all of the staff at VEG in newton mass… I drove all the way from Manchester nh to have my cat have the emergency surgery he needed before a snowstorm.. I was in a pinch and time was of the essence to save my cat beans. The team was more than compassionate with my financial situation and found a way to make this work.I want to thank dr Mahoney and staff for being the best people I’ve ever met in my life. And offering me everything to help me and my boy. I would also like to thank all of the people in the state of Massachusetts and or the people in the area for donating their hard earned money to help people like me.
Smokey Jones: Most incredible veterinary experience I have ever been a part of. Our dogs life was saved by the most amazing and loving people. Thank you so much. I could never go to another vet after this experience
Grace: This place in NOT your ordinary Emergency Vet.My dog Luna ate raisins from the trash and we brought her around 12am. We let the nurse know of her aggression towards other dog issues and they brought us right away into an isolated room. They did a great job medically taking care for her (10/10) . They were so transparent though then entire process. We never left her side/allowed to stay the entire time. When we left her overnight they called us right away when the doctors switched and updates of her condition. This was a great experience 10/10Thank you to all the doctors and nurses :)

Banfield Pet Hospital: what do users think?
Connor Kasch: Originally I gave this place a one star review but have revised since then.Initially what I said: "They've repeatedly rescheduled our appointment (pushing it back weeks at a time) to get our dog spayed despite the fact this is a time sensitive matter. We have a vacation planned and then are relocating and now they are asking to reschedule again when we are already on vacation. Their wellness plan is not worth it if you can't get your dog spayed!"However, someone from the Cambridge banfield office did follow up with us this week; she explained the situation and why they were having scheduling issues and to make it right she called countless other banfields in the region to find a place that was able to spay our dog this week. We really appreciated that!
Deacon Kumar: Horrible customer service. I called to help schedule an appointment for my dog and was put on hold for over 20 minutes
Sherrianne Sparrock-Sandiford: My cats vet place. Minus parking I love it.
Pascaline Mary: I would put 0 stars if I could.Staff is incompetent, dogs are being tortured and traumatized. We took our little chinese crested dog to them on Monday because he seemed to be in a lot of pain and was lethargic (wouldn't get up to eat or drink). They told us that he had no issues and could have a bit of pain due to the cold weather. The next day our poor little baby was paralyzed and had lost his capacity to feel in his front legs/paws. He couldn't stand up without falling. We took him to the ER at Angell, where they immediately treated him with opioids and ran multiple tests: they observed that he couldn't move his neck and had neurological issues. He stayed there for 3 days, saw a neurologist and a cardiologist but now has neurological damage. It would have likely been avoided if the staff at Banfield had done a comprehensive exam and noticed his issues the day before. They saw nothing. This is heart breaking. Please don't go to this vet, we payed the price both emotionally and financially. I hope our story can help other dogs.
Tango22 “Sara T”: They're always amazing and have helped my dogs on numerous occasions. They've also saved me a ton.
Candice Wu: Just super unprofessional, I have my two dogs in wellness plan since they were born. And for two years, it was okay until recently. Tried to schedule for my dogs the comprehensive exams three months prior. I wasn’t able to schedule it online since my portal said I have to call Cambridge hospital. And… I’ve called in multiple times for a month, weekdays to weekends, morning to the afternoon and try to actually be able to talk with a real person there and none of my try worked. It would be either just straight up voicemail - unable to take my call, or some one picked up and said there’s an emergency and told me to hold, for three times I called, I held the call for over an hour, no one ever answered again. How hard is it to be to just take my call and schedule an appointment for god sake. I purchased the plan and service and you don’t expect this situation where you have to beg them to answer a simple call. Anyways, super bad service and will not consider renew it next year
KAINOA A: Front desk staff not pleasant and rude. Vet was good. No issues on. However, the vet tech (middle aged women with glasses) moves with no purpose when verifying the paperwork. Both times brought my dogs to this location and it took at least 30-40 mins just to check them in because she has issues checking them in on the computer and asking us questions that we checked yes or no on the preliminary sheet they make us fill out before being checked in. What’s the point in filling out the paperwork about their health if it’s going to be disregarded and asked again literally question for question by her? She moves at a snails pace. It’s quite frustrating that a simple process takes her a good chunk of time. I get efficiency and ensuring all boxes are covered on her end, but good golly. We cringe every time we see her come out the door to assist. Also, save the “we’re sorry…” copy and paste reply. Thank you.
Andrea King: I have never spoke to a nastier veterinarian. I’ve worked with animal rescues and veterinarians for years, and I’ve never met such an I’ll mannered, rude, careless and entitled Veterinarian. If you do not care about animals, or getting them the treatment they need (especially after it’s been delayed 4 days after being seen) then you do not belong in this business. Absolutely disgusting.
sophie stark: Calling in the morning to stop my care with them. Every time we see a different vet and each time they have no idea what my dog has been treated for or what he needs. They ask me what different reports said and why he is taking different medications. They should know that! My dog has been having various symptoms for months now and they still haven’t figured out what’s wrong. Through there slow and inattentive care they will let your dog get sick. DO NOT BRING YOUR PET HERE.
Kaylee Klenk: My cat has been peeing blood for 3 weeks. I call every single day and finally they get back to me and tell me nothing is wrong. I pay every month for the optimum wellness plan, yet it takes the vet two weeks to even look at my cat. Horrible, I am so disappointed and I pray that nothing life threatening is wrong with my cat. So sad that the team here doesn’t even care.
Renee Bryan: Please, please, do not bring your pets here. This vet negligently gave my cat a medication (onsior) that the official onsior website lists as having a maximum of 3 day dosage, this vet told me to give it to my cat for 15 consecutive days. He is now at an emergency hospital after this prescribed overdosage making him vomit all night, waiting to hear back if this medication has permanantly damaged his liver or kidneys. When I called the emergency vet and told them about Banfield's prescription of this medication they said, and I quote, "15 days? One-five?? That's insane." We trusted this vet, and now our cat could have permanent organ damage. PLEASE do not treat your pet here if you want them to stay safe and healthy.
Lee Pedro: Very good to my puppy
amie macolini: Amazing staff!
Alison Reichert: Terrible customet service!
Gaden Kartso: They rarely ever pick up. If they do pick up you’re lucky.
Heidi Trigueros: I brought my dog here when he was at his end of life. I had recently moved to Boston and I had already taken him once to a different location but this one had an earlier appointment. Since my dog was in bad shape I decided to bring him here to get seen sooner. The vet was sure to explain every step so that I could be made aware of what to expect. I was grateful for this as it was my first time going through putting a pet down. They were very kind and made me feel as comfortable as possible during this very difficult end of life process. They were responsive and overall very professional.
Shannon Hurley: We brought our dog here when he started throwing up blood after he had other GI symptoms for several hours. We were advised by the Banfield VetChat to feed him a bland diet and monitor his symptoms, and if they got worse to bring him in - they got worse hours later. We called two other Banfield locations and both refused to see him that day. We were so scared that something was seriously wrong with our pup. We brought him into Cambridge Banfield and they saw him within 15 minutes (even though they were very busy with other scheduled appointments). They did multiple tests, diagnosed what was going on, gave us a plan for treatment for him, and sent us home with medication. After just a day and a half, our pup was back to his normal self! We continued the medication and treatment plan, and are so grateful to the doctors and team at Cambridge Banfield! We’ve received excellent care at other Banfield locations in the past, and this location provided the same level of care to us and our pup!
Nancy Fernandes: Yhe best
Dany Falcon: Critical:Professionalism,Quality,ResponsivenessThis is the worst location that Bandielf has, Everett location they are always there for when you need them. I give up after two weeks trying to get a shot for my puppy, he was already overdue, they said in the phone that is ok if is over due for a couple of more weeks. Im not sure about that, Im not a veterinarian.
KEMS Com: My dog went in for a teeth cleaning and aspirated vomit into his lungs at the beginning of the procedure. I think my dog experienced risk while they were waiting for my permission and should have automatically administered the life-saving anti-nausea medication immediately during surgery. The hospital had to call me for permission to administer an anti-nausea medication. Then at the end of the procedure, he had a seizure and was given anti-seizure medication immediately. I was sent home with a prescription for $1400, 4 doses of anticonvulsive medication and I was not given instructions on how to rectally administer. I chose to take my dog to an emergency vet to be monitored overnight instead of trying to administer medication to a dog who had been without food or water for over 12 hours.
John Marino: 1st time there brought my kitty Kiki very good experience safe took care of all her needs very knowledgeable & kind

BluePearl Pet Hospital: what do users think?
Melissa Unknown: I never write reviews but I thought this needed it, My dog passed away last week and we just got back his cremations and it was absolutely amazing. I am forever grateful for what they did for him. Thank you. I would definitely go again and would recommend it to everyone.
Jesse Groner: Incredibly friendly staff. Dr. Snell did two ACL repairs on my bulldog, and everyone was so nice and reassuring about everything. Can't say enough about how kind the staff was, from Jess at the front desk, to Shana and Kayla and other members of the staff. Would recommend!
Celeste De Palma: This ER always saved us when in a pinch. Staff are always trying to help & get you in the door. Lately, tgey changed to being an urgent care more than an ER due to the increased demand, so do give them a call to avoid being locked out. It helps them triage and prioritize the most critical cases while still giving you an appointment to come back. They always follow up after a visit and communicate with your main vet. Very grateful for their help!
Carly Derleth: Our 2 year old pup Murphy had to have her kidney removed recently - the team at Blue Pearl was AMAZING - so thorough, comforting and communicative through the whole process.. specifically Dr. Cavett, Dr. Cleveland, Sue and CJ!! Thank you to the entire team for taking the best care of our beloved Murph!
Alyssa Minchella: I’m really surprised by these negative reviews. Every person I spoke to has been compassionate and professional. I wish we had come here sooner
Evan Georgopoulos: Brought our Doberman in for a laceration she got from a metal fence. They took great care for her and stitched her up. When we went back to pick her up after two hours the vet said she was laying with our dog in the crate until we arrived. Maybe it was a quiet time of day and there was some time to cuddle, or maybe the vet just sensed our dog was full of love but needed some extra. Either way, we appreciate the care.
Ky Johnson: Dr Cleveland did surgery on my boy...7 year old pitbull mix for a torn cruciate. He and his staff were amazingly compassionate and kind. They walked us through every step. His Vet Techs are excellent and my pup loved them. We were told we could call for updates whenever. I expected just to get the usual of oh hes resting comfortably but we got detailed updates instead. We picked him 24 hours after we dropped him off and he's already on the mend. I would not hesitate to bring any pet here as they are amazing! The front desk staff is kind funny and knowledgeable. Full package place!
Paula Samantha Rodríguez Bellido: I don’t know why they are so many bad review I think they do an amazing job with animals. They seemed to me professionals! Thanks so much for everything
Julian Bradley Lewis: Surprised by negative reviews. Although I got bad news on my dog the professionalism was top notch and the vet I dealt with was very candid informative etc. The level of care was very high in my eyes.
Robby Ficker: Staff was great, care was great. Was expensive, but to be expected for an emergency visit.
Tate Beaudouin: I wish I could give BluePearl Charlestown 10 stars. We have been many times since bringing our puppy home at 8 weeks just over a year ago. The staff is incredibly friendly, loving and kind. We are so lucky it is close by!
Doug: The problem with this place is that they play on the affections of pet owners to extort as much money as they can. Sad.
darkness is here: My cat recently passed. They got him right in and started cpr. But it was too late! I also didn’t know but, they found a mass in his belly and said he had a heart attack and at least I know why he passed. They worked hard and respectfully on my baby. Forever grateful!
Karolina Chorvath: We were only 10 mins late (the tunnel to get there was closed) for an ER appointment and they told us they couldn't see us for the whole rest of the day and cancelled our appointment. We explained our dog is crying in pain and they didn't care or help at all. I have never been more disappointed in an establishment - one that's meant to HELP hurting pets.
Richard B: During the first year of the pandemic, our experience at Blue Pearl was less positive, but our recent return with our senior lady cat was exemplary in every respect. They took great care of her and kept us informed at all times, and were respectful, affectionate, and caring. Thank you!
P T: Very unprofessional and shady practice.
Carmelo Cortes: They took very good care of our cat Spyder
Renee Siegel: Dr. Cavett in internal medicine is amazing! We had a very complicated UTI case with our young puppy and not only did Dr. Cavett remain persistent until it was resolved but she handled it with the utmost compassion. Highly recommend Blue Pearl for specialty care!
Kara Manton: I went to BluePearl because my dog was having an emergency. They saw us within 5 minutes of walking in the door and were so kind to us. Would absolutely go again
Maile Gaspar: Our regular vet recommended Dr Snell for our dogs mast cell tumor removal, we had an initial consult where he sat with us for 30 minutes and went into detail/answered all of our questions. He and the team were all really nice and helpful during this stressful time. They all were very kind to our dog as well even though she is a hellion. Many thanks to all the hardworking people there!
Pilar Muner: This was an incredible experience. BluePearl was so responsive and communicative about everything and took such wonderful care of our dog. They were compassionate and kind, and made sure all of our questions were answered.

Westford Veterinary Emergency and Referral Center: what do users think?
Melissa Zirkle: I was referred by my vet because my Tucker swallowed a rock and needed surgery to remove the rock. If it was not for everyone there in that office I would not have Tucker with me now. You all were his i willsaving grace and I will forever be grateful for you saving my boy. He is my world! Thank you for everything! I hope you all know how much I appreciate all your hard work!
Eric Wiseman: No stars would be the correct rating! Our cat swallowed something that had to be surgically removed. This was not my first choice of veterinarian to go to only because I had another vet for emergency services, closer to home, that I preferred. They were turning people away because they were overwhelmed with emergencies so I went to Westford.Westford did the surgery then sent the cat home one day later. When they gave me meds for him it didn't include antibiotics. I questioned this and they told me we don't always need to use them. I again questioned this because this was a GI surgery and there is so much bacteria in the stomach. They still didn't provide antibiotics. Within 2 days we were back because he was becoming very infected. They injected him with antibiotics and sent us on our way. They should have admitted him and tried a little harder to reverse the problem they created. The next day he appeared to be close to death. All he would do is lay on the bathroom floor by himself. I brought him back to Westford and they didn't like that I was acusing them of causing the situation. Suddenly the wait time they told someone else of 2 hours turned into 8 hours for us. The vet tech who told us the new wait time but stressed that he should have treatment. Basically, he's going to die if someone doesn't do something but we're not going to do anything. I actually appreciated that she told us this so he didn't die in their waiting room.I immediately took him to the vet hospital I would have chosen initially. The admitted him right away, did surgery to remove all of the infection then treated him for 5 days with antibiotics and a feeding tube which brought him back to life. This of course cost us many thousands of dollars more to save his life. This was totally preventable. We're very grateful the other vet did their job, unlike the Westford vet who refused to.--Thank you,Eric
Mike Silva: Absolutely blown away. My fiancé took our dog in thinking she had a tumor. The vet put all our minds at ease and saved us thousands of dollars. Would leave ten stars if possible
Jason B: Brought my dog in around midnight for about 20-25 porcupine quills in his face. The team working was very professional and took great care of my dog. The technician explained everything to me fully and the front desk person kept me updated during the procedure. Very satisfied with the service from this visit and will return if any future accidents happen.
David B: Overall very happy that my cat is okay. On the pricey side, but given the circumstance fair. The bill came in on the lower end of the estimate which was good. The only thing I wasn’t happy about was he could have been cleaned up better before coming home. His fur is now at stuck and matted. But, I appreciate the professionalism and urgency that was provided.
Nicole Beauchesne: I brought my 2-year-old cat here who had been missing for 3 days and came home starved and continued to not eat and eventually started having blood-tinged emesis two days later. I was so worried and decided to bring him here for the first time. I am so glad I did! The team is incredibly organized and highly intelligent regarding overall animal care. I recommend them to every sick fur baby out there. El Salto and I are very happy with our visit❤️
nics c: I came here in a panic because my cat was quite literally screaming in pain. They took him back and quoted me $4k to perform a surgery to help with his kidney stones. I told them I couldn’t afford $4k and they told me they could just put him down instead.. when I asked why the total was so high they told me they were quoting me on the “gold package” or something like that. I asked them to do only what’s necessary and it came out to be $1k instead. They were UPCHARGING me and didn’t tell me that the cost of the procedure had the potential to be lower.. instead they offered to just put my cat down?? Luckily I asked. Thankful they saved my cats life but I don’t think I’d ever go back.
Justin Burnes: My cat passed away at home and I brought him here on a Sunday for cremation. The staff was incredible and made the process easy on a tough day.
Anita Chmilarski: I can’t say enough about this great group of people. They provided much needed guidance and support when we called about our dog struggling and then when she suddenly passed away before we were able to get her to the facility. Thank you for how skillfully you handled the situation and the comfort you provided.
Ashlie Jensen: I brought my cat Penny in for an emergency neurology consult yesterday. As every pet owner knows, when your beloved companion is in distress, you become very anxious and full of concern. Of all the doctors I have seen in my life, for both my pets and for myself, Dr. Wilmarth was the most thorough, patient, and kind doctor I have ever met. She immediately set me at ease and explained the situation with Penny's health, and prescribed a new medication for her to try. I am so grateful to have had such a thoughtful doctor examine Penny, and also give me knowledge going forward with how to best help her. In addition to my wonderful experience with Dr. Wilmarth, both the receptionist & the vet tech were equally friendly and helpful. If you are looking for a compassionate neurology consult for your pet, look no further! I will be recommending the Westford Veterinary Emergency and Referral Center to everyone I know. Thank you!
Kristina McLaughlin: Highly recommend!! From the ladies in the office to the nurse and the vet every single person was absolutely amazing with our dog, Yoda. They truly care about their patients!!
Marissa Rivera: My cat Topaz had a scary emergency right before Christmas and so many of the staff members at Westford Veterinary Emergency were so incredibly kind & compassionate throughout his treatment process. Angela at the front desk, nurse Miriam, doctor Duffany, and doctor Babyak were particular standouts - so helpful & patient with me and extremely caring & kind with Topaz. The facility is short-staffed and I saw many of these folks every time I went in (once at night, once midday, and once early morning), so I can imagine they must have been very tired.
Nicole Fillios: Unfortunately, I had to put one of my pets down because she had a large tumor that we couldnt get treated. The front desk woman was SO SWEET. on call and in person, she was so helpful and understanding with me. I forgot to get her name- but she told me her dogs name was phoebe just like my pet! she was awesome and perfect at her job.the vet who had taken in our pet was kendall, she made me the most beautiful art of my pets paws and tail so i have something to remember after she passed. she literally took extra time to make sure the imprints were perfect. kendall was so so awesome and trustworthy and i genuinely dont think anyone wouldve been better than her for the job. overall really great staff and not too expensive. thank you!
Matthew Evans: Great experience with the physical therapy department. My dog is back to her fully active self thanks to the great team here.
Jacqueline Bottone: I can't say enough great things about this place. Their kindness and compassion is awesome. Highly highly recommended
Amanda Philbrick: I cannot say enough good things about this facility. Everyone was amazing, and I felt so relieved knowing my boy was in good hands. We were transferred to this hospital to see neurology. When we arrived our boy was stable, so wait times were extended but not horrible. Our kitty sees the neurologist at the Westford Clinic which is equally as wonderful. Thank you for your wonderful care!
Jaq A: They don’t care about your pet, they just want your money
Alisha Wood: The staff were fast, compassionate and did all they could to help and guide us through a very rough morning. Thank you for all you did.
Michael Fields: They have an amazing staff that helps you and your pet 24/7.
Kelly Casey: I made the difficult decision to put down my dog, Millie, this past Tuesday. Everyone was excellent from the time that we arrived until the time I left. Dr. Bocher's words that Millie was doing better when I was around because she wanted to please me were very comforting. Millie was not feeling good otherwise and it made me realise that I was making the right decision. I would highly recommend this business.
Erica Wetterlow: I brought my dog there very early in the morning. Staff was so kind, and listened to my concerns. Great experience! I highly recommend Westford Veterinary Emergency.
