But I will try and capture our experience because hiring Elaina and Revel and Joy was by far the best investment we made for our wedding!We began working with Elaina about eight months before our wedding. We had chosen many of our vendors and signed contracts already. She smoothly and seamlessly picked up where we had left off and began working with our vendors to make sure everything was clear and on track. She thought of every detail and asked great questions to understand our priorities for our wedding. She guided us in a very gentle way to help us create our perfect event. When I questioned “do we need this?” she thoughtfully answered and reassured me that not everything on Pinterest is necessary for everyone. It’s easy to get carried away while planning a wedding and she definitely helped us stay on budget and not get carried away with “stuff”.She handled everything with our vendors and met with us monthly to check in and get our input on anything that needed it. As the wedding approached, we spoke more often and she was always available to answer my questions and handled all the last minute things that inevitably came up. She was always calm, always professional and handled all the many details so that I didn’t have to stress about anything! She communicated with our vendors and wedding party and created a detailed timeline so that everyone was very prepared and clear on the expectations of the day.Elaina made our wedding such an incredible experience. We were truly able to be fully present with each other and our family and friends. She and her team took care of everything and made sure that any issues were dealt with and everything stayed on schedule. They set up and cleaned up and made sure we got all our things into cars at the end of the night (and I didn’t have to carry anything!)If you are wondering if hiring a full service planner is worth it, I will tell you that it absolutely is! Give yourself the gift of being able to relax and enjoy your wedding!
Emma Eaton: We got engaged in May 2020, and being the oldest siblings in both immediate families and the first couple of the majority of our friends to get engaged, we were lost on where to even begin with planning a wedding. Fortunately, Alex’s aunt is the owner of a florist company, Copper Penny Flowers (Concord, MA), and Jennifer kindly passed along the names of some of her favorite wedding planners in the Boston area. Among the list of names she provided was Elaina, and Jennifer’s direct words were, “LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Elaina…She’ll be one of your besties by the end.” After our first phone call with Elaina, we knew she would be the perfect person to help plan our dream wedding.Working with Elaina over the past (almost) 2 years has been the most seamless and enjoyable process we could have asked for. Being completely swamped with medical school and PA school, neither of us had much time for all the phone calls, meetings, etc. necessary for planning a wedding. Further adding to the chaos, neither of us actively live in the Boston area due to school; but without fail, Elaina would be at every in-person meeting for us (FaceTiming us in when possible) and was always flexible and understanding when scheduling our monthly meetings or when we needed to make last minute changes. She is truly one of the most reliable, professional people we have ever worked with (or met for that matter), and her ability to handle all conversations and interactions with such grace so as to not add to our already busy and stressful lives made all the difference. To top it all off, Elaina had never planned a wedding at the Boston Public Library, but when we chose the BPL as our venue there was absolutely no hesitation, just pure excitement for us.Our wedding was utterly magical, and we have Elaina to thank for everything. Even when our officiant tested positive for COVID the morning of our wedding, Elaina handled everything behind the scenes, preventing any worry for us or our family/friends. While there is no such thing as a flawless, perfect wedding (there is something that always comes up in that 11th hour), our wedding was in fact perfect. We are so fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with Elaina, and we recommend her to everyone who hopes to get married in Boston. Her calmness and positivity is unlike anyone we know - she is compassionate, caring, genuine and kind, and we are so happy to call her a friend for life. Elyssa Barrett: I will be grateful for Elaina for the rest of my life. Her tremendous work on my wedding made the event perfect and I am absolutely confident that it wouldn't have been possible without Elaina. When we met with Elaina we already had a number of my vendors lined up: the venue, caterer, photographer, and my dress. I waited so long to look for a coordinator because I thought a.) I couldn't afford a wedding planner/coordinator and b.) I thought I could do it on my own and be fine. I felt like I had done most of the work already and was just hoping for someone to help with the last minute details on the day of the wedding. I can't articulate how wrong I was about how much I didn't know about throwing a party of the size and scale of a wedding. My biggest (and only -- Elaina took care of everything else!) regret about anything in regard to our wedding was that we didn't meet and hire Elaina sooner. She is a game changer. I thought because I had read a couple books and blogs about throwing a wedding on a budget that I could handle all the moving parts but there was so much I didn't know. Elaina is a true professional; we hired her as a full service planner and I always tell people it is the very best gift I have ever given myself. Elaina found and negotiated with all the rest of the vendors we needed: flowers, hair and makeup, paper goods, rentals, and probably a lot of other things that I didn't even know she was handling in the background. She came up with floor plans for the venue (and rain plans, and many drafts of floor plans to give us options) and worked really hard with us to find ways to save money. She was as invested as we were in making our wedding affordable without compromising our vision. Elaina was amazing about presenting us with multiple options and being really transparent about how things were fitting in our budget. I am confident that she saved us money through all her research, which was such an unexpected and incredible bonus of working with her. Elaina's attention to detail is remarkable. She helped us choose decorations, which colors for linens would look nice together, which place settings would help create the vibe we wanted. She really listened to me and sent me options that she thought I might like. I truly felt that she understood what I wanted and how I hoped everything would look. Our wedding was stunning and so fun and every one of our guests commented on how well everything went together. Elaina even made sure all of our paper goods and favors matched our website and our invitations. These are things I think I would have had to let slide if I was trying to do everything myself but having them made such a difference. We would never have had a wedding as nice as the one we had if it weren't for Elaina; it would have been lovely, I'm sure, but Elaina took everything to the next level. She is incredibly knowledgeable and finds genuine joy in throwing events. I cannot recommend Elaina as a wedding planner and coordinator highly enough. At least twice throughout the process I joked with my fiance (now husband!) that I was calling our wedding off so that I could marry Elaina instead -- she is an amazing person. We are so lucky to have worked with her and I am so grateful for the work she did!

Initially, we knew we needed a coordinator to handle details like setup and timelines and we were happy to find Elaina because she immediately understood our vision and seemed confident that we could pull it off. However, in the last few weeks before the wedding, we found out just how many details have to be handled, and it was absolutely amazing to have someone else dealing with the many smaller things that pop up (the exact time the cake arrives, vendor parking options, etc), while I focused on what I cared about the most. In the final week, we had an emergency vendor cancellation (hair and makeup), and while I would have absolutely panicked at that point, Elaina remained calm and had a backup plan in place within two hours. They were a huge conference, with I think over 6000 participants for that event alone. This event definitely opened my eyes to how data science and AI could play a role in our work. If you are a data scientist, or an aspiring one, this is the event to attend to learn from and rub shoulders with some amazing scientists and researchers.

Every little detail was taken care of and she really worked with me to help ease all my worries. Not only are they punctual and professional, Soraya and her team are super kind and very accommodating to their customer's dietary restrictions and other needs. At my wife's and my wedding we had a few dietary restrictions and our guests had a diverse range of palates from Italian to Indian food lovers. We had stuffed shells, masala dosa, bruschetta, as well as pani puri and other chaats to name a few dishes. SYB was very good at asking about specific dietary restrictions from the beginning, working with us to make the menu, and offering suggestions and helpful advice since this was our first time using a catering company. Also I highly recommend SYB's tiramisu and cheesecake bites. So yummy! On the day of the wedding they set everything up, served everything themselves,and cleaned up after themselves. If you need a catering company they are the ones to call!
Breanne Diorio: We used SYB for our wedding at the beginning of October and were absolutely blown away by the experience. The food was the most important part of our wedding to us and we wanted to take a unique approach. We worked with Soraya to plan a menu that we were hugely excited about. She tailored everything to our preferences! She even put together an incredible at-home tasting for us during COVID. Soraya also acts as a day-of coordinator and her attention to detail really put my mind at ease in the days leading up. The food and service at the reception was out of this world. All of our guests were raving all night long from the passed apps, to the raw bar to the stations with live chefs. Soraya and her team could not have done a better job helping us bring our vision to life.
Matthew Reilly: Soraya has the best reviews for a reason. SYB Events catered our wedding at the end of April in Dedham, MA and everything went off without a hitch! For several months before the event Soraya was actively in communication with us over email, coordinating food tastings and making sure we got the menu we wanted for the budget we had (prices were going up as the date neared and she made every effort to keep our costs low, for which we are very thankful!).We met her at the venue before the wedding where she walked us through what she usually does for that location and took all of our input to make the event as smooth as possible. She also coordinated with outside suppliers we needed, such as for the drinks and linens rentals. That was a big relief for us, trying to keep everything else about the wedding straight!On the day of the wedding, her staff leader Maria was at the venue bright and early to prepare. They were a well-oiled machine and we didn't have to worry about anything. The food (including some special request Russian appetizers) was delicious and served on time for each course. The staff in and out of the kitchen were the subject of many compliments that we received during and after the wedding. Soraya wasn't at the wedding itself, but her staff knew all of our plans and knew exactly what to do and when.We would highly recommend SYB Events Catering to anyone planning a wedding!

sepehr salimi: I would give Soraya and her team a 5+ star if this was an option. She provides the best in class service for the same price as other event planner/coordinators and her catering services is top notch. I would strongly recommend Soraya’s services for your event (our event was a wedding), especially if you have cultural elements at your event. She listens intently, she will study/learn your culture, and she will deliver exactly what you ask for (unlike other caterers and planners that I talked to before stumbling upon Soraya). Fortunately for us, she knew more about the Persian culture than I did (and I was born in Iran). She is from a multi-cultural background herself and has built a wide network of relationship with chefs and vendors from various backgrounds.I would also strongly recommend couples to pay for her ‘day of’ or ‘month of’ coordination services. It is worth every penny. My wife and I weren’t sure if we wanted to pay extra for that. Thank God we decided to opt in for her ‘day of coordination’ services and if I had to do it all over, I would probably pay for her ‘month of coordination’ services. If you can’t afford her ‘month of’ services, make sure that you at least get her ‘day of’ services. I promise you that it will be 1000% worth it. Ask Soraya and she’ll explain to you why you need it. Also, she has a way of making things work.Soraya, thank you for making our wedding the best day/night of our life yet. You have an awesome team too!

Nicole Awad: Planning a wedding in the middle of a pandemic was uncharted territory for anyone this year. Soraya jumped in right when I needed her with what questions to ask my venue on how to ensure I was still going to get the wedding of my dreams. I planned everything last minute due to such uncertainty and Soraya was there with contacts for me from someone to rent chairs from literally last minute as my other vendor fell through. She connected me to the most amazing videographer when we decided last minute that we wanted one. Soraya has such amazing relationships with all these vendors and I knew I could trust her judgement with these referrals. In all this uncertainty, the only thing I was certain about was that any question I had for Soraya, she would give me her best answer or contact. She works all hours and is always accessible for any question you may have. She put my mind at ease and for someone who thought that I could plan this wedding on my own (I’m stubborn like that), I’m so glad I had her helping me plan my special day!
