slash dot: We used Barbara Zicht Richmond as our mediator and really did not have a good experience. Even when my ex and I were on the same page Barbara would ask the same questions and not keep track of the information we already discussed and provided to her at times. Also, I had to bring to her attention to provide a document that explains the process and the order things, what is required, and the order of steps , beyond just mentioning things verbally at different times. She also didn't know how to use modern technology to help move the process along faster and save us some money. We were sending different versions of documents around instead of editing a live document. My experience made me feel that time was wasted and more money charged to us when things were just taking her longer to work through and delayed us as clients to get to a final agreement. Lindsey Carney: I'm not sure I can find the most accurate words to describe how thankful I am to have found Attorney Richard Rose. First, let me say that I have found the best attorney out there and that I will continue to work with him in the future. Secondly, know that I have been through so much in this process with him, that I now consider him to be a friend as well. Last July, I had finally found the courage to leave an extremely unhealthy, abusive marriage of four years, and to do so with my now three year old daughter. Mr. Rose was recommended to me, so I emailed him while I was on vacation for the weekend. He immediately responded and asked if I could meet with him that Monday. One week later, I experienced an unpleasant situation in my home (and marriage) and immediately retained him as my attorney. As I was approved for a 209A abuse prevention order and responded with divorce papers, I can still remember Mr. Rose saying to me, "Today marks the last day of you as a silent victim." Unfortunately, my now-ex refused to cooperate in almost every little aspect of the divorce process. I was emotional, scared, felt threatened, guilty, a whole range of emotions. Not only did Mr. Rose continually reassure me that things would get easier, he never failed to offer the most professional legal advice while also easing my concerns.
