Savenor's Butcher Shop & Market: what do users think?
C S: The dry aged ribeye steak was phenomenal. Really hit the spot. One 1 1/2 in chunk was enough for 3 portions (with pasta), too! I'd definitely come again just for this.
Sean Germain: Best butcher in Boston. Excellent variety of high quality meat. My go to if I’m cooking for a special occasion.
Lindsey Coye: I worked with customer service this afternoon in regards to a gift certificate that was purchased months ago but not received (error on my end). They responded quickly, promptly and informative. Very pleased with the help I received and will be purchasing from them again.
hamburgdp: First visit today and am definitely coming back. The quality of the steak I bought was outstanding. Some of the best steak I’ve ever had outside a restaurant. Kind and helpful service.
Vanessa Phillips: I am so sad I didn't start coming here sooner! This place is adorable and all the staff have been outstandingly kind to me. They are very helpful in explaining their offerings and they also let me know they have different made to order foods (like this burger) for different days of the week. In addition to things you'd expect at a butcher's, they also carry ice cream, other snacks, and even mini laundry detergent. Would absolutely recommend, anything I've had from here has been delicious.
Joseph Rizzitiello: High-end butcher shop. Everything from Prime Cuts to exotic choices. Spices and more!
Honest Abe: Spendmor’s
Tom McManus: Phenomenal butcher shop. They have great customer service and the meat is always freshly cut. The butcher counter is much more complete than the one in Boston.
Christopher Schrock: Excellent service, with a smile, I felt like family! We are planning to cook short ribs tomorrow and wanted to find a butcher. I'd never been to one before so this was a new experience. Picked up some Bolognese Mix as I've been wanting to try it, cool that it's already mixed together so add noodles and sauce and bam you got dinner! Thank you all for being so kind and helpful today.
Jackie Levine: Wonderful local butcher. Wide selection of high quality beef, pork, lamb and more. Helpful staff. A pleasure to shop here.
William Sawyer: Great chicken wings. Jumbo size, fresh, wonderful taste after air fry.
Dean Dimizas: Excellent service and variety.
S M G: Great neighborhood Butcher Shop with a wide selection of meats and house made items to choose from.
Lizzy L-K: They have the best products and wonderful customer service. Since the pandemic we moved to middle of nowhere in Maine so I ordered a few nice things to be delivered. I had a few questions about delivery since we've had issues with UPS in our area and the person answering the emails was very prompt and helpful. What really amazed me was that they reached out concerned that the shipment was delayed, but that was only because that day we got like a foot of snow, but I thought it was very thoughtful of them to check in and that they were keeping an eye on it. I'm so excited about that cassoulet I'm making this weekend with their wonderful products. Of course I'll order again! Tip your butchers when you order, they do a wonderful job!
Frank Viggiano: Very nice butcher shop. Apparently it was Julia Child's butcher of choice.
Robert Godkin: Friendly staff, great products, go here for all your steaks and high end goods
Andrey Sh: What a terrible customer service experience... I placed an order to buy some food in Savenors on 12/26 for my celebration meal and I scheduled a pickup in Cambridge on 12/28. I specifically drove 25 miles to Savenors Cambridge to get my order on-time. When I arrived, I was shocked to see that the shop was closed! I can't believe they just decided to take a day off in the middle of the week and they didn't call me. So, I wasted 2.5 hours to drive to Savenors Cambridge and I'll spend another 2.5 hours tomorrow again (if they are open). If you have a special event, don't count on Savenors, they don't care - just order somewhere else unless you have a backup plan.
Myriam Michel: Pulled up to Savenor's on the day before Christmas Eve to get lamb shanks for Christmas dinner. In typical kiddos fashion, as soon as I pulled up to the shop, both my kids were in deep sleep. Feeling stuck, I sat in the car for a long time debating on what to do. I called Savenor's and explained to Chris, the butcher, my situation and he said "I can help!" He enthusiastically took my order and payment over the phone and brought out my order cheerfully saying "Merry Christmas to you!"AHH - I LOVE GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!Thank you and you've gained a new lifetime customer!
Vicky Baley: Great service and high quality local butcher!
Louise Tung: Helpful staff! The best marbled meat anywhere in the area.
Robby Thompson: Anchovy

Formaggio Kitchen: what do users think?
Michael DiBona Sr: Unbelievable
Hunter Stillwell: Crazy good cheese
Alfred Greene: The food is great and the service is wonderful
Rich Miner: Amazing cheeses and other gourmet provisions.
Ignacio Perez: One of the best grocery stores in the Boston area, great produce, cheeses, charcuterie and anything you could think of
Jon Whitney: This is a comment on the tinned fish ***only***, for cheese Formaggio is iconic, but someone recommended I check them out for their tinned fish, and I was disappointed, bordering on insulted.Once again, for their cheese and other specialties they're legendary so this is only a jab on their tinned fish selection and prices.I enjoy tinned fish/seafood in the mornings to bring to work if I'm hungry for breakfast - eat it on crackers or toast - the tins are very portable, last long, and are far more enjoyable to me than eggs without the cholesterol. I'm always looking for more varieties, etc.The selection at Formaggio's was low (sure, there's probably not a lot of demand for it) and the prices were astoundingly high (I get it, Cambridge rents/taxes are way too high and the city only works for the super wealthy at this point). But you can drive to a Portuguese grocery store in Lowell or Fall River and find exponentially more variety, all at a cost of less than $5 each tin. Formaggio's had some that were over $15!I ended up buying a handful, just to see if the quality was any better than what I'm used to (Formaggio's prides themselves on being "premium" top-notch curated right?) but I was underwhelmed. If you're into exploring the delights of tinned fish/seafood, Formaggio's is not the place.
Paul Daws: Do you want some cheese to make your mouth thank you? A sandwich, intriguing snacks? Then just enter their house of delectables. I would have added a picture, but too late now
Amanda Judson: A wonderful place to shop that's local!
Jonathan Migdol: Great selection of cheeses. Fantastic place to send a special gift to friends and family.
Christian TQ: Has everything! Love the wine, cheese, bread, and charcuterie selection!! Could be a little pricey though.
Paul Everett: This place is amazing. Best cheese selection anywhere. All sorts of wonderful baked treats. Great place for gift buying.
Noe Ramos: Postres y quesos riquísimo
Nicolai Cauchy: Though larger, the new store is more crammed than was the old one, and less personable than was Fresh Pond Market. The prices are, well....Formaggio style, i.e. through the roof, but it is what meets their demand. I regret that the selection of cheeses from micro producers in Europe (especially France and Italy) seems to have dwindled (maybe Covid effect?) and that there is no discernible push for New England cheeses, as some found in VT and the Adirondacks. All that said, it's great to have the convenience and Ishan maintains a terrific quality of service among his staff. Thanks 🙏 and Peaceful Holiday Blessings to all 🥂💫
Monique Zipeto: Every specialty gourmet item you could imagine....and more.
Timothy Bucciarelli: There are a few places in the Boston area that have stood the test of time for good reason. Formaggio Kitchen is one of them. I've worked there and been a customer for many, many years. Yes, it can be expensive, but if you really care about the quality of the food you are buying and care about the service experience you have when purchasing, this is one of the only places to go. [Update] Still a joy to shop here! You might think cheese from elsewhere is good enough... But their selection and focus on quality (and knowledgeable staff) continues to set them apart. Still great. November/December are great months to go as they are putting out all of their holiday goodies!
Charles Lamb: Top shelf cheese selection. BBQ is excellent. Great selection of curated pantry items, produce, charcuterie. It’s a great place to go urban foraging.
Ben Garfield: Super friendly and helpful staff, incredible selection of cheese to choose from
Gre Nadine: Un très beau magasin bien achalandé et bien tenu. De nombreux produits de qualité. Personnel sympathique. Je recommande.
James Zelony: World class - a must see!
Franklin Gerechter: Top wine and cheese establishment
Soroush Vakhshoori: Good food but very expensive

Savenor's Butcher Shop & Market: what do users think?
Michael DiBona Sr: The best meats on Boston, service is always outstanding
Francesca Gordini: Best place for veal, livers and all the odd meats you might think of.It's also the go-to place for exquisite pork lard!!Julia Childs favorite butcher is still the top place where to shop for meat. I wish rabbit meat was cheaper.
Tobias Herrmann: So many amazing and exotic products. Quality is top notch. Every time we buy a steak here, it turns out so much better than meat from the supermarket. Pricey, but defenitely worth it!!!
Lona Lane: I live in Chicago and a friend Wes told me about Bostons, Your meat is some of the BEST I’ve ever tasted since I left Louisiana. Thank you for sharing your talent with the community. God Bless Your much deserved accolades❣️
Rachel Hammond: Savenor’s is the ideal artisan market. They have the basics that you need, but they also have the special things that you want and can’t find elsewhere, from local dairy products to cuts of Wagyu beef. The staff is friendly and knowledgable. And I really love that they have the best products without being pretentious. I’ll definitely be back.
joe hourihan: This place is rather expensive so be prepared for that, but I find it difficult to find anything else that cares as much as they do to find the best quality product. If they don't have something they will go out of their way to find it
Joseph Doyle: Love this place. Widest selection of meats and best quality. Staff at butcher counter is really helpful. Produce is also better quality than normal grocery stores.
Peter Hey (RV PLANET): Small grocery store in high end neighborhood. Julia Child's shopping food store, as they show it in their wall pictures... did not buy anything, but comments about the items are good.
Belle T: I upgraded my 2 ⭐️ to 5 🌟 as they do listen to the voice of customer!!! There are new baskets to put the groceries and I go on the weekends for my meat 🥩 🍗 🦆 supply!!! Plus, I love their gelato 🍧 selections!!! 👍👍 In addition, the butchers are really nice and friendly._________________________________________I love this gourmet grocery in my neighborhood. They have very good quality meats and maybe varieties! However, I gave it 2 stars because they charge a lot more for good quality produce but have horrible damaged metal baskets. I got a deep cut on my finger from one of the broken metal pieces from the basket. I just hope it doesn’t cause tetanus!!! Pls make your shopping environment safe for your customers. Replace the damaged metal baskets with a plastic baskets instead.
Tony Campagna: I don't know where they source their beef, but it's absolutely top grade. One of the tenderest, most perfectly marbled, buttery delicious ribeyes that I've ever had. Also the most beautiful asparagus on the shelf every time. A little pricier, but if you want better quality you're going to pay for it. There's a microchip shortage, after all.
Steven Le: Amazing experience every time. I choose Savenor’s because the butchers are always so thoughtful and knowledgeable. I began my journey of cooking more elevated dishes this year, and because of a specialty butcher like Savenor’s I was able to find access to cuts of meat not offered at regular grocery stores. If you need a good reason to try Savenor’s hear this; I called tonight to see if they had duck legs left and when hearing about the dish I was planning they said,”Oh you’re the one who was doing the ramen broth right?”. This was in fact true, two months ago and they still remembered me. Beyond knowledge and quality product, the butchers connect as much as they can to their clientele and that means the world to me.
Craig Mullins: Yum
Freddie: I will say it is a tad bit expensive but worth every penny. These butcher's are pros! They have plenty of excellent options pre-cut, but for example if you want a ribeye or NY strip or wagyu cut to your precious preference they will happily cut (and trim) any cut you like! They also have a great selection of local veggies and herbs as well as imported goods. It's a small local store, you will NOT find anything USDA Choice here, prime + only! Also their sausage and Irish bangers and the best I've had in the city!
Jake Cohen: Closed all day Sunday 🤔🤔
G A: A great high quality butcher shop with a knowledgeable staff. There is a wide variety of frozen exotic meats available. There are cheeses and bread for sale. I haven’t found the best produce there and some of the wares like crackers are quite expensive, but Savenor’s is definitely worth a visit. The ducks legs, sausage, and pork fat we got for cassoulet was all top tier.
Skyler Wallace: For a small shop, they have an amazing selection of meat. They have a small produce and cheese selection as well, but the star is definitely the meat. I ended up grabbing a ham sandwich, which was very good. They use high quality ingredients that make the price woth it. Definitely check it out if you are in the area, I'm definitely going back to grab some wagu beef.
John Doyle: Very helpful staff, coupled with excellent produce!
Rafael Marinez: This store is awesome. Very extensive stock . Some many items for every one.
Angeliquc Smith: The market is convenient but the cashier is very rude doesn't know how to deal with people in a polite manner. Why does she even need to operate the cash register if she doesn't like people or should I say "certain people"? I thought it just may have been once or twice but every experience has been awful because of that cashier.
Mrs G: Their homemade Friday Fried Chicken is hands down the best I have ever eaten - it was bone licken' good!
Nicole Wood: It's open now! Only 4 customers at a time
