British Consulate General: what do users think?
Xani Bajrami: Never answering to a phone call!
Marc Andreoli: How do I get in touch with a human? Very frustrating phone experience.
Scott S: Can't get an answer to my question. I want to speak to a human but it is impossible.
Alex Bhatty: TERRIBLE!!!!!!!I have been trying to get information from the Cambridge office their phone number DOES NOT WORK! They don't have any email listed! How can I get in touch with a human?
Edward Rispin: Quick and very friendly issue of Emergency Passport after loss two weeks before on a bus. This gave time to get an appointment sorted out. I can't comment on how it would work in a more time pressured situation. I would say that they should have a buzzer at the entrance as I couldn't get back in to ask a question once I'd left!
Janak Joshi: This place is hilarious!!!! Funny staff appears to be absolutely clueless about anything. Not sure if they even know where they are and what they r supposed to do. Absolute joke! Feel sorry for folks in emergency situations. This place is border lining on a mental institute.
Kate Jones: My father passed away suddenly and I needed an emergency passport. The earliest appointment I could get was 6 days later-hardly helpful in an emergency! Also, the web site tells you the appointment is not confirmed and you shouldnโ€™t make travel plans until the consulate contacts you. I waited 2 days and then called as I hadnโ€™t heard anything and desperately needed to make plans. After navigating the infuriating message system I finally was able to talk to someone who wasnโ€™t based in Boston. She was great and seemed genuinely disappointed that no one had contacted me. She was able to contact someone at the consulate in NY who confirmed my appointment so I could at least book a flight. I havenโ€™t had my appointment yet and will update this review after I have. But my general feeling is one of extreme disappointment and frustration that the consulate is so inefficient and isnโ€™t there to help in an emergency at all. Zero stars. Terrible service.
Jen Franklin: Should be closed down,no service whatsoever.New York is the place to be to get things done.
greg jones: "Zero" would be more accurate. Does anyone know how to get beyond the plummy robo-voice to actually talk with a person?
Denis KH: Nope, no service there... Trash phone number.
Hongjiang Lee: If I can, I will rate it as negative 5 stars. The guy in that place have no any idea about consulate issues, the only thing they did is just ask you pay money and refused to refund even it is their fault. One more thing, they never replay email. if you want a UK visa in a express way, in my experience, just buy a priority package directly from Uk visa website, and mail every thing to NewYork, then you will get it in 5 days for sure.
Madeleine Wood: Really helpful and friendly. Couldnโ€™t fault the online booking service. Had an emergency passport in 20 mins!
Jared Farley: Absolutely useless. The phone number just refers you back to their website. No walk in services are provided so don't bother to go in person and expect to be helped.
Bradford Lingham: Not even worth a single star: The worst customer service line ever with NO OPTIONS to speak live.
M Bl: A circumvent way of not receiving questions and not providing answers.
Corinna D'Schoto: Useless
Su Zheng: I would rate the service center 0 star had I been given the choice. The phone number is completely useless and helpless! They need to do a better job!
Adam Smith: My advice to anyone using this service is that you need to desperately exaggerate the seriousness of your situation if you want to get anywhere.
Rafael Adams: Completely useless phone number that will simply refer you back to itself. Pathetic
Monica Bertoia: Very frustrating that there is only an answering service and the answering service says they do not help with visa questions.
Rik par: soooo frustrating - no live answer at all - just a recording sending you back to the web site!! NOT a good public relations experience for the first point of contact!!!

Consulate of Germany: what do users think?
Philipp Fella: My only criticism is, that itโ€™s hard to find.Donโ€™t trust google. Make sure you read the directions on their website!! I planned ahead and still was running around cause I did not find / read it. There is very little to no signage in the building itself. And itโ€™s def not first floor like stated in google.See directions copied from website below:(Dior shop close to stairs / elevator
Christine Gruessner: Iโ€™m sure this consulate does a nice job for issues that are straightforward. But anything beyond that, they will make your life miserable. As a German citizen applying for German citizenship for my infant child, I got nowhere at this consulate. I had all the required documents, but stalled when administrator HL accused my husbandโ€™s birth certificate of not being genuine! I even offered to show the receipt in my email of the original order of the document direct from the city hall, but she was not interested in seeing this. My treatment at this consulate was absolutely shocking and HL seemed to delight in making things difficult for me.Needless to say, I went to the Washington DC embassy after 3 failed attempts in Boston, and the officers were pleasant and processed my documents smoothly with no issues or accusations of forgery! If the Boston consulate gives you a hard time, just go to the DC embassy, where people are actually respectful, helpful, and capable of critical thinking.
Sascha Haverfield: Friendly, efficient and very helpful consular officers. Validated parking at the Copley parking garage.
C R: Amazing service. They were able to help and explain things perfectly.
V: This office was very quick to respond to my message, and the lady I spoke with was very nice and helpful! Many thanks to her!
John Baum: Easy parking
Violet: No calzones :(
Boris Nikolic: The gentleman man who helped us (mr Alcron spelling could be off) was as friendly, competent and efficient as a human being can be
Akash Srivastava: Absolutely brilliant! Very helpful staff, patiently answered my questions and super efficient -- I got in an out in 9 mins and got my passport back in 3 days!
Moosa: Embassy staff is amazing overall but the lady operatior on the phone treats you like a personal emeny of her she can spoil your awesome day into a worst nightmare other than that very helpful staff fast and efficient
abhaya pothina: As a tourist, this is the best consulate I have ever worked with to get a tourist visa. Super responsive, super helpful and super quick. Couldnt ask for more.
Fawaz Hafez suliman: This is the second visit, it was perfect
Wolfgang Hokenmaier: Super nice folks who work there. We were just there today and couldn't have been treated more friendly. Of course I made sure I had all the needed documents, which was helped by equally courteous and responsive phone and email conversations. A well oiled machine, go German Consulate Boston!
Amanuel Berhane: Customer service are very helpfully assistances thanks for the information .
Fotoun albach: great staff. very helpful
Kanimozhi Sathyaseelan: They're just the best. I learnt I would need a trasit visa only three days before my flight to India (expired F1). I freaked out but the staff at german consulate were very kind to let me fill out an application, took my biometrics, helped me out the same day. They were prompt with replying to emails as well. I am flying in couple hours and received the passport just now. Very thankful to all the kind people that work at german consulate.
Ivan Fomichev: Very helpful staff
Soumya Singh: The people in the embassy are very helpful, accomodating and very precise. They don't make you wait or waste yours and their time. The front desk lady is very helpful and so are the other staff behind the counter. My best consulate experience ever.
Kishore Sundar: This was the best consulate experience I've had. The lady at the visa counter was so patient, efficient, and helpful. Helped me rectify some errors I made in the application and also gave an extra copy of the declaration of accuracy form which I forgot to carry.
Susanne Michaelson: Super easy, schnell. Sehr nett ...Danke

Consulate General of Ireland: what do users think?
Barry C: They're very arrogant. I called several times with a question on Irish citizenship, because I could not find the answer online. They never answer the phone, and they have never returned a phone message I left.
Todd Stephens: I had a wonderful experience when I contacted the Consulate. Thank you for the help and the useful information!
Maureen Trant: Iโ€™m trying to find out the fastest way to get an Irish passport ( I am a dual citizen living in MA)before I travel to Ireland in September. Spoke with head of Irish consulate who informed me that everything now as far as application has to be done on line. She was very abrupt and dismissive. I tried to explain that on line site was very confusing and would not provide info I needed. She repeated that application needed to be done online .Gone are the days when you can apply in person( due to the dreaded plague). Whatever happened to Irish hospitality?Im more than disappointed, as I wanted to travel this time on an Irish Passport.
Muirgen Neal (Neuroticcuriosity): Absolutely miserable experience. Went in to get information on filing as a foreign birth. They treat anyone that walks in with questions like an absolute nuisance, despite it being their job. Next time I'll make the drive to New York.
Caoimhin O HArgain: Went above and beyond when I needed to renew my passport
Ismail Ben Atitallah: Friendly, courteous and professional staff. My visa application process was smooth and fast.
Teresa Di Manno: As an Irish citizen I am so ashamed of this consulate. They were so unhelpful and ended up hanging up on me when I requested information. Terrible service for your people. Shameful!
Chris McMullan: Simply an office to drop off passport applications. For anything else, the staff act as if you've interrupted their "real" work and are just trying to get you, the nuisance that you are, out the door. This office has been help to me once out of the five times I've entered. (Every time has been directly related to either my passport or a simple question about a visa for my partner.) The information they gave us regarding my partner's visa was actually completely wrong and showed that they hadn't read the visa laws since the 1990's, if ever. Glad to be going back to Dublin.
Greg O'Sullivan: Incompetent doesn't begin to describe this office. Submitted an application for passport renewal in December. Was told I was good to go. Get email month later saying I need different photos. Mail in the photos requested. Hear nothing. Get package in March, "great! here's my passport!" Wrong. They said the application expired because they "never received the photos". Resubmitted application in May. Said it would be 10 weeks. 12 weeks go by. Application still not being processed in Dublin. Told it should be 14 weeks (that's not how workflows work). Wait til 14 weeks. Still no news. Finally submitted to Dublin end of September (after 16 weeks). Application denied because witness was out of date (because they waited to submit application). Nearly November now. Still no resolution. Absolute, utter, incompetence.

Theo Zambakis: The worst ...๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿ‘Ž๐Ÿ‘Ž๐Ÿ‘Ž
Doucas Nakos: Any dealings with the Greek consulate is an act of God! You have a better chance of getting hold of the President. I have been trying to get a certified letter for a Greek bank in Greece for TWO MONTHS!!! I was told today that the clerk is out till 9/7/2022. There might be someone that can help me after that date but sure!!!This is the same deal anytime you call there for something. You can never talk directly to anyone of authority as all the calls are screened. I have no clue how all the other reviews are 5 stars. Hope you never need anything from that place. They should be ashamed of the service they provide!!!!!!!!
Niko Sfikas: Very helpful staff. They are doing their best to serve your needs as fast as possible.
Sandy Spanos: A terrific team! Patricia is always helpful to me & my wife Sheryl and Mrs Koukoutsi has done an outstanding job in her leadership to make things run smoothly. They are great!
Irene Georgakoudi: I recently worked with Ms. Zioga at the consulate to get paperwork submitted regarding military service for my son, who just turned 18. I received very helpful information and guidance and I was impressed by the short time it took to get formal approval for postponing his service. Ms. Zioga and the staff I interacted with were all very courteous and professional. I am very thankful.
Paul Mouratidis: Very professional and efficient service. I visited twice for different documents and was always well served. A mask is always required.Be prepared with your documents and fees and everything else will be well taken care of by the consulate.
kosta kar: I have been trying to obtain my Greek citizenship for over 2 years. It seems they really donโ€™t want to help me out. Every time I call there is no answer. I keep sending follow up emails with no reply. I am extremely disappointed with the lack of communication on the consulate's part. I'm at a loss as to what I need to do to facilitate the process
Eirini Voutsadaki: very very rude people.
Emmanouil Tzorakoleftherakis: Ms Krystallia Zioga was very helpful throughout the time I worked with her
Clark Scholl: I had a recent interaction with Mirella at the Greek Consulate in Boston that demands veneration. My wife and I scheduled our honeymoon in Greece for May 2021. Upon arriving at the airport in Boston, I was told that I would not be allowed to board the flight because of restrictions on my transit flight through Frankfurt, Germany. My wife quickly contacted the Greek Consulate in Boston and described our situation to Mirella. Within the hour, she provided us with the required documentation that would allow me to board the plane. Her quick work saved our honeymoon! Can't thank her enough for that.
Anastasia Stagianou: We are a family of five that needed urgent passport renewal for our three children. We sent the email on Sunday evening and by 2pm on Monday we had already been seen and filed all three applications. The service was impeccable, all the staff understanding and very caring. The communication -all email- was excellent and prompt. Special thanks to our wonderful Vice-Consul, Ms. Koukoutsi, who did our applications and our amazing Consul-General, Stratos Efthymiou, who has worked tirelessly over the past few years he has been in the post to transform the Consulate, make it more relevant, accessible and interesting by organizing a ton of high quality events and by being an open and accessible official himself. We are beyond grateful!
Michael Tourkistas: Prior to traveling to Greece, I had called the Greek Consulate with many questions regarding travel during the Pandemic. They were helpful, knowledgeable and guided me through all my questions. However, upon arrival at the airport, I faced a documentation issue because my connecting flight was through Frankfurt Germany. I was told that since I did not have proof of Greek citizenship because Germany was not open to Americans due to Covid and I was traveling with a US Passport, that I could not get on my flight. They closed the check in counter and asked me to return the following day with proper documents. In a panic, I called the Greek Consulate immediately, within minutes they were able to help me provide the airline with the documentation I needed so quickly I was able to board the flight. I was only traveling for a few days, and if I had missed my flight the trip would have been ruined. I was only able to enjoy this trip because of the Greek Consulate's quick response and assistance. Many thanks the staff and Consul General Stratos Efthymiou.
Manny Cavros: Very helpful and listen to your situation great job
Alex T: Second review for services in April 2021:The professionalism and dedication of the employees at the Greek Consulate in Boston continue to exceed our expectations. Twice in the past eight months we needed their services regarding travel to Greece. Ms. Patricia, a highly effective communicator, who appears to have an excellent memory and equally amazing willingness to assist people calling the Consulate, provided us with all up-to-date information for travel to Greece, guided us through the documentation process, provided the time frame for completion and return of the docs as well as recommending to follow up with embassies of transit countries for their travel requirements (I was unaware of this crucial step!).Within a few days, we received the hard and e-copy documents.I would like to thank all the employees at The Greek Consulate in Boston. They consistently deliver beyond expectations and successfully contribute to the needs of not only the Greek-American community but to all.โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”I called the consulate in an effort to get last minute travel updates for my trip to Greece, departing in 2 days-hoping to get to my 92 yo ill mom ASAP. So time is not on my side.I was amazed to find that a real person answered especially since I had already given up on my own consulate and was traveling minimally prepared, document-wise, particularly for my spouse. The person who answered the phone, discussed the travel requirements with me and to my astonishment, she went above and beyond the call of duty. During the discussion, she discovered that I was missing critical documents. She proceeded to advise me on exactly what she needed so that the Consulate could prepare the proper documents before for my trip. A short time ago, I received them.My family and I owe a big thank you to the Staff of the Greek Consulate in Boston with a special note of appreciation to the kindest person I have ever met/talked. Ms. Patricia. She did an excellent job. She carried out her job duties with outmost professionalism, immense knowledge, profound kindness. Her efforts to assist a family in need were admirable.
Douglas Tobiason: I have had many Consular interactions due to significant international travel over the years.I must acknowledge that my recent interaction with Patricia and the entire Consulate General of Greece - Boston was exemplary.I had specific questions and circumstances regarding an upcoming trip to Greece. During these times of the Covid-19 Pandemic the rules and regulations for international travel have become very fluid and confusing. The airlines and IATA often provide contradictory and often inaccurate information. My interaction with the Boston Consulate General gave me a sense that g much greater certainty and exceeded my expectations for professionalism and responsiveness. My sincere gratitude!Douglas T
Elepthrios Alexandrou: No parking...
Irene Gerakas: I had an appointment at the Greek Consulate in Boston this past November to apply for my Greek passport. Danai was exceptionally patient, informative, kind and professional. Everyone on the staff was helpful and I had a great experience from beginning to end. Stuff like this is always so tedious, time consuming and frankly annoying to deal with but they make it so easy! Thank you!!!
Chris โ€œBostonGreekGeekโ€ Vaxevanis: For most jobs you have to do, you have to have an appointment. The people working there are friendly, most of them. The hours of operation make me think very much of Greece. Several simple tasks take much more paperwork, work and time than anything you may be used to when dealing with American agencies. In comparison with doing anything in America, they would be 2 stars, in comparison with doing anything in Greece where I lived for 15 years, they are 3-4.5 stars.Their hours aren't very convenient and even the hours they are open are limited. I I haven't seen the ability to do anything online. Over all I would say a 4 star experience
Georgios Varsos: A very professional service, helpful when there is a need. Keep up the good work!

Consulate General of Canada: what do users think?
Sebastien Dupont: Definitely a little tough to get in touch with them but once you do they re super fast at answering, transparent and accomodating.
J.R. Sebestyen: I regret to say that my experience in trying to contact the Canadian Consulate in Boston was very poor. I followed the instructions for those wanting to enter Canada, and became mired in a never-ending loop with no hope of reaching a person. I do understand that the border situation between Canada and the U.S. could change at any moment because of COVID-19, resulting in a higher number of calls than usual. If so, the voice messaging system should allow the caller to leave a message, or offer some other option than to just 'repeat the previous message'.
Aaron Wong: Wonderful people form a wonderful country
Hazem Barkache: It took me forever to find the Consulate. But when I got there, the lady in the front desk was very helpful and polite. Unfortunately, they don't issue visas.

Consulate General of France: what do users think?
Jules Som: Can't you guys take walk Ins? Waiting for appointment is like waiting for a miracle to happen. Unbelievable.
Juliette Darmon: It's a small consulate with limited staff but they go above and beyond to help the French nationals who live in New England. I realized late that my passport was expiring and therefore I would not be able to travel internationally if they didn't help me out. The consulate did not have to as it was my fault but they did anyways. They also fitted me into their tight schedule. Merci beaucoup pour votre gentillesse a mon egard.
Clinton Delmas: Good jobs
Jas K: Superb staff and leadership that is doing an excellent job serving French interests, French citizens, and the broader human community
Fuqing Wang: I cannot book an appointment coz their website is broken, showing Invalid Request Details. What is even worse, is that to re-try booking an appointment requires re-filling all application details. I did this 8 times over the last day and still couldn't get through. Why even open online booking if it isn't working? Whoever built this pathetic website must be a freaking genius.
Lonson Junior: The worst people Iโ€™ve ever dealt withAll they care about is money. Go spend your vacation elsewhere.
Lloyd DUFOUR: Not sure where the positive reviews come fromโ€ฆ 1/ you canโ€™t easily book appointments as the website is totally outdated 2/ the consulat rarely answer the phone during the 2hrs period they have 3/ you canโ€™t enter the building without an appointmentโ€ฆIn other words: you canโ€™t book, you canโ€™t call to raise that you canโ€™t book, and if you show up then you canโ€™t go up! Ridiculous..All this without talking about the people I interacted withโ€ฆ very, how to sayโ€ฆ entitled, disrespectful, arrogantโ€ฆ?
Ross Wood: The French Consulate at Boston does not answer its phones during the very limited hours they claim to be open, 2-4 pm M-F, and does not respond to email. I have tried phoning dozens of times, following both the French and English menus, both of which lead to waiting periods that time out eventually with no possibility of leaving a message. The consulate is a classic combination of Northern charm and Southern efficiency in my experience.
Louis: Une dรฉmonstration exemplaire de l'incompรฉtence franรงaise.
Eric Thomas: Passport renewal
Elouan .LC: Does someone ever answer the phone or emails in this place ?
S M: What happened to the respect the employees at the consulate used to have for customers? The gentleman in charge of passport renewal center was extremely rude, threw my pictures and other documents on the counter, did not make eye contact. The French consulate might as well invest in a robot to take our documents. When I return to pick up my passport, Iโ€™ll make sure I see someone in person to file a formal complaint about that clerk.
Jean Carrot: worst experience. the process to get a visa is only getting worst
I was making Visa to France in New York. Despite my bad previous experience with English Consulate (their site doesn't work and there is no way to contact Consulate except Call Center somewhere in India, where nobody can really help you) a very nice and helpful lady at the interview kindly approved my Visa (and I got my passport at the very same day, I guess because I live not too close to NY). I've got the best impression of their work ever.Only one advise - schedule your appointment as early as possible, because their waiting time is quite long.
Arachie Kamnsi: Wonderful and efficient service. I forgot some documents and they were understanding enough to let me email them. It didnโ€™t take any time at all. Unlike the Spanish consulate

Consulate General of Japan in Boston: what do users think?
Jacky Liu: I donโ€™t know why there are so many negative reviews here. I called the consulate before I submitted my visa application and today I walked in. Both experiences were great. The staff was very friendly and professional. I was disappointed that I could only get a single entry visa for the first time application, but she explained it was the policy. I will definitely go back and get a multi-entry visa in the future.
Guanglin Yu: They make up rules that contradict their own polices listed on website. It is a shame that Consulate General of a country does not acknowledge its policies. This place definitely needs a new leader giving so many negative comments here.
T K: Their attitude was not so bad, but the web page did not say they only accept CASH, and they charge fees each certificate. The web says only "$16 for certificate". It's confusing. It should say cleary those two things on their web page. I had to run to next building to get cash. That's very inconvenient and obsolete, should accept debit or credit card. I would like to state that the fee is expensive.
Mingyue Lao: I dont know about the bad reviews๏ผŒbut my experience to apply for long term visa was smooth and completed even DHL delayed my document.
Will Brown: I had an excellent experience at the consulate! All of the staff were exceptionally kind and pleasant to work with, and the process was streamlined and easy to follow. All of the security staff were especially outstanding!! Thank you!
Ashley Sullivan: I was nervous after seeing the reviews but we had a quick and polite visit to getl ong term visas. Including Christmas and new years, we were told our visas will be ready in 14 days
Prokillzz: No idea why there are negative reviews. My visa application was fast, respectful, and easy. Don't quite like that I have to go back next week to pick it up but that's just how it is.
Raven: The most unprofessional person I ever encountered (and reading through other negative comments, I know it could be the same person, sigh.) First of all, she didnโ€™t even care to review my documents and after a peak, she gave most of them back to me - seem to me that these were not required. After on, she asked for some of the documents that contained in that set of docs she returned to me. ok - as long as you get what you need. She then asked for another document and while I retrived it from the folder I brought with me, she left the counter, leaving me standing there unaddressed. Shocked and disappointed. I thought she might come back to take the additional document but until another person behind the counter asked me whether this was a part of the supporting documents, I realized - oh, she (the one assisted with me initially) just headed back to initiate her review of my docs without saying a word until this person told me to take a seat and wait a little.Hope someone could teach her how to treat others - at least her parents didnโ€™t do a good job. This is very unpleasant but if that's how she has been treated and reflected on her, such a pity then. My bad luck.
Josh Burke: Most of the staff are nice and helpful but from time to time you do encounter someone who is rude for no good reason ๐Ÿ˜ฌ
K H: I'm almost certain that all of the negative reviews are because of a specific woman who works at the office. This person is without a doubt the most condescending, disgusting individual that I've ever had the displeasure of meeting. It unfortunately slipped my mind that the embassy does not take credit card, and when I told her that I wasn't carrying any cash she said, "ใ‚ใ‚‰ใ‚‰... ใ–ใ‚“ใญใ‚“. ใฉใ†ใ™ใ‚‹ใฎ๏ผŸ". I was appalled by her unbelievably unprofessional and rude remark (made worse by her tone of voice) and was furthermore stunned when she just walked away to the back without a goodbye, or something of the sort.As a Japanese person myself, I almost feel it's necessary to apologize on her behalf if you had a sour experience at the embassy due to her, as her behavior is not a reflection of our common character. I would like to mention though that plenty of the individuals behind the office are caring and kind, and so I'm at a bit of a crossroads as to how I feel about my overall experience.
Jacqueline Caron: Even though I was well prepared and polite the staff were unkind, disorganized and condescending. I went there to apply for a visa without my husband ( who is Japanese) because we are going to visit my in-laws. I found that they are very cold towards foreign people. They talked to me as if I was a dog. Why work in a consulate if you hate foreigners? Itโ€™s a shame to represent your country this way.Ultimately, It was humiliating and I felt angry. I wanted to be rude back, but instead I bit my tongue, said thank you and tried to demonstrate kindness. I told myself that maybe they are faced with a lot of rude foreign people. But, even so it is a privilege to work in a consulate and there is no justification for being rude - especially if your customer is being respectful.I really wanted to represent Americans well and strengthen our countries relationships by acting with empathy, especially because my family are Japanese. But, itโ€™s difficult to do it when you are being treated poorly.Very disappointing.
Christopher Husson: Very friendly service.
Anil Bhandari: Great people, great service.
Steve Long: Disappointing to drive an hour and a half each way to pick up a passport (which they will not ship), prepared to pay in cash (because they don't accept check or credit card), only to find that they were closed - even though their website and the document they gave me indicated they were only closed New Year's Day & MLK Day, should have been open Jan 3rd.
Peter Berger: The staff was quick, efficient and very helpful.
Ken Schwarz: They couldn't have been nicer or more efficient in responding to my visa application. In preparing my documentation (which is extensive, but not the CG's fault), I had a question. So, I called the Boston office. They immediately picked up and helped me on the phone. I submitted my paperwork by email, but omitted one item that turned out to be required. The next day they sent me a note asking for that, which I supplied, and a week later I got a notice that my visa was ready. Come on in and get it. Which I did. I waited exactly 30 seconds for my turn at the window. I gave them my passport, and before I had time to read my email the visa was ready. They gave me additional information regarding quarantine rules, which answered all the questions I had about that. Very positive experience.
Jingyi Zhao: brought everything I was told to bring, and they ended up requesting extra documents/charging extra.
Tara Connolly: In 2019 I applied for a Japanese work visa and it was a fine experience. Not good not bad. But this time I'm applying for a Spanish student visa that requires international background checks. The program I applied for instructed me that I don't need an appointment and I didn't question it because I didn't need one before. But this time they needed one but let me in anyway. If they said, "sorry you need an appointment " and then turned me away I would have accepted that and then made appointment. At the counter the woman yelled at me. By Jaapanese standards it was pretty scalding. She said "you cannot just walk in without an appointment! Everyone here has an appointment!" I'm sorry that A. You didn't need one before B. I was instructed that I didn't need one and C. Why was I let in if you didn't want me to not have an appointment!I would've understood!!!!!!
john oleary: Yesterday I went to the consulate to do a yearly โ€œproof of lifeโ€ with my wife so that she could continue to recieve her Japan pension. I only speak English and my wife has mild dementia. The young lady who helped us was incredible. She was extremely patient and made an extra effort to help us complete the required paperwork. She did so much more than anyone could reasonably expect. A great experience

When I visited this place to renew my passport, however, I did not find the tiniest rudeness from any of the employees; they all were efficient and courteous (all were females). It could have been due to the fact that I used formal Japanese over the phone & email, and I went there when they weren't busy. This Consulate is located on the 22nd floor at the FRB building.
Irene Wang: Only one officer is polite. The rest are all rude and horrible at clearing things up. They don't deserve to work there.

Young Min Kim: I want to heap on the praise for the consulate. I had an incredibly complex set of paperwork and circumstance when getting a work visa to goto Korea. The staff here went the extra mile in guiding me and my family through the process and helped get this done as quickly as possible while giving us regular communications and updates. I understand not everybodyโ€™s experiences are the same, but for me, I am forever grateful for the consulate team. Thank you!
DDactFul: So rude.Part of their job is literally helping/supporting the Korean citizens living abroad, and they are just extremely rude.Rather than telling us which additional documents are needed, simply telling us to just navigate the website.

sang choe: They are not very helpful and they are very rude. Itโ€™s seems that they do know what they are doing. My wife visited them 3 times and same person are rude.
Hannah Foley: I was really nervous with see all the reviews, but they were so nice and I really recommend emailing or calling ahead if you have trouble with the website to make sure you have all the right paperwork. They were so nice to me, especially the lady I talked to and I wish I had asked for her name to give her a nice shout out on this review
Sunghwan Jung: I saw some negative reviews before I went there. I was scared a bit, but overall my experience is very positive. People there were quite friendly. But I understand due to the very specialized job situation (listening a lot of complaints and following a lot of rules and government policies) they cannot accept paperwork that I prepared in the beginning. But they give me detailed instructions on how to prepare things and more.Again, I am very happy with their service.

Ying Zhang: EXTREMELY rude staff. We tried to inquire about the documents needed to apply for a visa, but the lady would not even allow us to finish our sentence, especially after hearing we were non-Koreans. She continued to interrupt us throughout the conversation and spoke in a demeaning manner. Highly unprofessional and a great shame to the country.
Sei Yong Lee: I donโ€™t know who is writing bad reviews here but Iโ€™ve been going to this consulate for ten years and everyone is so helpful and nice, I donโ€™t know what these people are talking about. Maybe they should visit dmv
HyungYong Choi: The lady was very rude and notorious as I heard. They should treat people as human not a thing.
J J: Ms Park was so kind to help us to hand in all the applications with the extended time schedule with bright smile and quick hands (Our next person didn't show up). My tips is to read the website information more thoroughly although it is a bit long and confusing, and to be well prepared. You might need to register the visit with 2 slots - each slot takes only 30 min and each application can take up to 30 min.

Joocheon Cha: Very kind service
Elizabeth Park: Ms. Yun helped me over multiple appointments with a complicated paperwork situation with patience and understanding. My Korean is extremely limited but she assisted me in both Korean and English. Anything bureaucratic is going to be confusing to the average person so I really appreciated her continued help.I will say the website is a bit hard to navigate in English, but there are ways to work around it. If youโ€™re even somewhat Korean-English bilingual, Iโ€™d recommend searching the website in Korean and then pressing the English option in the top right corner. Also, instead of using the website search function, try googling with keywords under the website.
Steven Ohm: Person in front is RUDE. The consulate should look for a different person who us actually helpful. All she says is everything is on the website. Why didnโ€™t you prepare? But for people like me who has been away for a long time do not know the new forms. She thinks that we know and gets mad when we ask about it. So no matter what your business is get ready to get some rudeness in your face.์šฐ๋ฆฌ ๋™์‚ฌ๋ฌด์†Œ ๊ณต์ต์ด ๋” ์นœ์ ˆํ•˜๊ณ  ๋„์›€์„ ๋งŽ์ด ์คฌ์–ด์š”.Another meeting in after a month. jayla: One of the workers here is INCREDIBLY rude. I presented the documents Iโ€™d printed off of the website, and she claimed that I brought the wrong forms and went on for about two straight minutes about how irresponsible I am in front of a full room of people. A korean person right before me had brought the wrong form as well, but she simply gave him the correct form and didnโ€™t say anything. I asked her if any additional documents are required, and instead of answering, she told me I was unprepared and told me to come back when I was ready. Another person right after me asked what documents he needed to bring, and she happily gave him a list of the required documents. They are incredibly unprofessional and have a strong bias against those who visit. At one point I asked my partner if we had printed the forms from the website to get a second confirmation, and the lady interrupts and says โ€œAre you visiting Korea or is he?โ€ and proceeds to tell me itโ€™s my responsibility to print all the forms and demands I show her where I downloaded it from. Every time I have visited the embassy I have had a horrible experience. Others in the reviews seem to have received the same treatment.
Maddie Labbe: Thank you so much with the reservation help! I'm gonna be going to university in Korea really soon and so this was a really big help! Looking forward to the appointment, thank you!
sabrina: I had a very pleasant experience! I was there for my visa application and I was in and out! I even got to be helped earlier than my appointment time! The documents and information you need is all on the website. You should come prepared to save you and them the time and stress!
