Cambridge Historical Tours: what do users think?
LS Tours: We hired a step on guide from Cambridge Historical Tours to conduct a school group tour for 3 days and our group was VERY PLEASED! Shout out to Sam who the group gave him a 10 out of 10. We will definitely use there services in the future for groups we have coming to the area. Thanks again!
Danielle Schulz: The best!!! We hired Cambridge Historical Tours to lead three tours for a law firm’s retreat. Daniel and his team came highly recommended by the concierge and they did not disappoint. He was a dream to work with and boy, did he deliver. His tours are fun, engaging, knowledgeable, and of the highest quality. They were a highlight of the trip. Our guests could not stop talking about the experience. Highly recommended. You’re in for a treat!
Greg Webb: Charlie was fantastic. Great information. Loved it.
Shakyra Sanchez: Amazing tour! Charlie is a great and knowledgeable tour guide.
Maura Nolan: Took the Freedom Tour today, with Charlie Riggs. Wow! Two & a half hours of information, wit, great stories and anecdotes about a multitude of led Olde Boston luminaries! Charlie brings much intellectual heft but leavens it with so much human-interest. His energy is infectious. Take this tour if you get a chance. He covers a lot of territory in this fascinating city - geographically and historically.
Daniel Tyrväinen: I was fortunate enough to get a private tour which was a rather complete guide of the history of Boston. The tour guide was professional and was clearly interested in the topics as well which made the tour more engaging. I would definitely recommend this tour to anybody seeking to get a detailed tour of the Freedom Trail.
Nikki Wiseman: Tour guide was 30 minutes late. Guide told interesting stories but not a lot of history of the American Revolution
Nell Maloney: We had a fantastic tour with Daniel along the Freedom Trail. Great stories. Kept us engaged for hours including our 11 and 14yo. Informative and entertaining. Definitely recommend for history buffs.
Melissa molina: It was a great tour! My husband and I really enjoyed our guide as he was easy to listen to while explaining everything along the way. I would do this tour again!
Charity C: Noah was a fantastic guide! Kept the 2.5 hrs engaging and fun so the time went by pretty fast. Such a great, well-rounded tour with all kinds of fun facts. I'd do it again in a heartbeat!
Brigette Auld: Best tour company around!! Stewart led our tour on the Freedom Trail and he is the best story teller there is! He was absolutely captivating - for both history buffs and others. We also did a pub crawl with the company and they took us to some amazing bars with rich history. It was a truly unique experience to be having a drink in the same place Kennedy had his bachelor party and where they met to prepare for the Boston Tea Party. This company truly has the best tour guides around - phenomenal story tellers who have a true love of their city and it's history. I can't say enough good things about them!
Leslie Modica: Had a fantastic experience on the Cambridge Ghost Tour with Alyssa! My two sisters and I got a default private tour on a Wednesday and had such a great time. We wanted to do something fun for Halloween to take out one sister visiting from out of town and I landed on this tour because I want more than just costumes and antics. Alyssa's historical knowledge of Harvard and Cambridge added a layer of depth to the stories that set this tour apart. She even was able to conjure spooky, mood-setting fog in the graveyard :) I am local to the area and this made me want to book another historic tour to learn more!
Robert Russell: We had a wonderful tour with Rob Crean on October 25. He was knowledgeable and entertaining. I highly recommend him!
Nathan Martin: Came all the way from Indianapolis but our tour guide Rob Crean made this one of the highlights of our whole trip. He was not only very knowledgeable on the tour but as a whole with the city of Boston. He had a hilarious sense of humor, contagious attitude and was very thoughtful of everyone in our group and city pedestrians driving and walking by. Hands down would recommend across the board and if you do make sure to book with Rob because this guy knows and loves Boston!
Derek Chinn: Freedom Trail Tour on a perfect fall day. Mark L is an ideal guide: an experienced stage performer and history teacher. Informative, lively, and interactive. Mark repeatedly tied the past to the present and kept us engaged and entertained.
Nick Felker: I was impressed by this ghostly tour of Harvard I went on. The host told eerie tales while also giving us a brief tour of Harvard and it was educational.
Emmy I.: Shout out to our tour guide, Julia! She was beyond knowledgeable, engaging, and had a voice that carried well over the bustle of the city. This tour was not only enjoyable for its historical anecdotes, but it was a great start to our vacation because it helped acclimate us to the city. I would highly recommend this activity.
Max Lawton: Fun way to spend an evening around Harvard Square hearing some creepy stories!
Matt Lennington: Good walking tour.
Emilee S: Our guide was amazing. I highly recommend doing this tour while you’re in Boston. He truly loves the history of Boston and it showed.
Kyle C: Fantastic tour. I hate doing these things but family wanted to do it. 11/10. Our guide brought history alive and made it interesting and fun.

Old Town Trolley Tours of Boston: what do users think?
S. C.: Not enough busses for the number of tix sold. When you call for a refund they transfer you to voicemail.
Susanne Heaton: This tour was an incredible way to see Boston. There is so much history to take in and this was such a great way to learn.Nick who sold us our tickets also gave us excellent tips on places to eat to get the best Seafood Chowder (Boston Sail Loft) as well as suggestions for great Italian restaurants. All the tour guides were incredible, but Miss Jackson was over the top amazing. She made the educational information very entertaining and memorable. Her ability to navigate the trolley through rush hour and have us all laughing with various songs and stories was amazing. Best way to see Boston. Highly, highly recommend this tour.
Jose Rodriguez: Very good historical
john hasiak: Great way to see all the sights of Boston.
Christopher Rocco: It was a fun way to see Boston on a day trip. No pressure easy on and off stops.
Treesa Black: Worst Boston experience ever! We waited in the freezing cold for 45 minutes because they kept promising there would be room on the next trolley but they kept showing up full. Two different parties waiting ended up taking Ubers because it was so ridiculous. We couldn’t afford it because we already spent our money on 4 two day passes. They hold trolleys at stop number 1 so they are going at regular increments and we had to wait there for 30 minutes as well. Move the freakin trolleys people! Adjust to accommodate for the concentration of people. Instead of seeing Boston, we sat at trolley stations for over an hour and a half and we only got off on 2 stops. Hop on and hop off was an absolute joke. Once we got back on, nobody in our party wanted to get off because we would have to wait another 30-45 minutes in the cold to get back on. I called their dispatch to let them know what was happening and they assured me the next bus would have room. It did not. She also told me they can’t run them more than every 15 minutes because they need to have them spaced out. She also said she was sorry because when they sell the tickets, they don’t guarantee that there will be room on the trolley. Wish we could have seen more but next time I’ll just Uber. (Side note one of our drivers was very funny, not the drivers fault).
A Nabs: Good route through downtown Boston with multiple convenient stops, and the driver commentary was excellent. We had a great guy named Murph, who was funny and informative. We bought electronic tickets online ahead of time and it worked really well.
Wayne Guilliams: Friendly, easily accessible and the drivers know Boston. Highly recommend this trolley for getting to know and around Boston.
Denise Reid: Horrible experience. Wait time was 40-60 minutes for the trolly. At one point we waited 51 minutes for the trolly, got on and went to the next stop and told to transfer to a different trolly and had to wait 20 additional minutes for it to depart. In addition, the driver was rude to an elderly man. Horrible experience. Very different than the one we had with this company in other cities.Edited to add that the company did give me a complete refund.
Jennifer and Jeremy Terry: Wanted to see the city on limited time. It was nice to learn about all the history.
Candice Calderon: Would recommend! Foxtrot driver was amazing. He was funny, knowledgeable, and kept us entertained all while letting is get to know Boston. Would recommend.
Jackie Batson: The stops are not accurately shown on the map and are poorly marked (sometimes nothing more than a piece of orange and blue tape on a pole). We waited over an hour for a trolley in the seaport area and one only arrived after we called. And the trolleys are sometimes full and you have to wait 15-30 minutes for another one. And worst of all they don’t have an app that indicates the location of a trolley and ETA at a stop
Megan de los Santos: This is THE WAY to see Boston! Our tour guide, J, was enthusiastic and knowledgeable, she was an amazing guide through the city. We loved being able to hop on and off the trolley whenever we wanted and it was a great way to travel without having to walk everywhere. We learned a lot about Boston and the history of the city, the architecture, and the people there. 1000/10 would recommend!
Monica Missall Ash: I always start a trip to a new city with a city bus/trolley tour and this one was great. The tour guides were entertaining & knowledgeable. The route allowed me to orientate myself with the city for when we began touring on foot. Note, the guides make all of the difference…make sure to get a good one.
Fenceguy: Krafty is the smahtest, funniest, and most gahjus touah drivah in all a Baston brotha!
Amelia Staub: We loved this trolley tour. We did it on our first day in Boston and it was a great way to get acclimated to the city and learn our way around. They stopped at all the major spots in Boston and we were able to easily hop on and off to explore. Certainly a highlight of our trip!
Russ Matuszek: I took this tour and had Murph as a driver-guide. He did an excellent job covering the history of Boston as well as today's happenings. It was an unusual 65 degree day in mid February, so half of the clear curtains were rolled up for an open air experience. Highly recommended!
George Ward: Crafty was an awesome tour driver. Very informative, funny and kept it very interesting. Great tour.
Christian Golloher: We did the tour later in the day and JD gave us an amazing tour of the city! Wish you guys ran longer in the day!
Anna: Beanie was an amazing tour guide! She needs a raise! Thank you for being so fun ! We enjoyed the trip !
Jean: I do truly believe that a tour like this is one of the best introductions to a new city. Do this first, get the lay of the land, and make plans from there. So helpful as well as entertaining. The bummer here is that it's pretty hard to separate the weather impact on the success of this tour. It was cold and rainy which leaves you feeling chilled the entire time. The sides were up on the trolly, but the zippers were mostly left open so wind snuck in as we drove. The panels are not super clear so seeing out was compromised. While I'm not trying to review Mother Nature, the company could consider this in a winter locale and try to accommodate for this in a better way. Start maybe by zipping up the panels to prevent cold air from coming in.The idea of being able to get on/off is nice. Our plan was to ride it once fully - 1.45-2 hours total and then do some hop on/off things. We ended up only doing the full ride once. After that we walked to the places we were interested in as lining up times to meet the trolley (again in this weather), didn't seem worth it or fun if we had to just stand around outside. Our driver was nice, talked a lot, but unfortunately talked about things we weren't that interested in as we drove by buildings that were very interesting, but were never mentioned. We heard about what seemed like several modern gray buildings instead of the gorgeous old churches we were passing by. We just didn't feel we learned a lot or had our interest piqued enough to have places we wanted to investigate more. However, that said, there are places we went by such as the Tea Party museum, that we did go to, and would have more likely done hop on/off if the weather might have been nicer. So, yes, it would work for that. The USS Constitution as well, Fenway Park. If you have a stronger constitution than me (LOL), this may still be worth it no matter the weather. For me, I'd rather have done a fully narrated tour, with scheduled stops I could count on to stay comfortable and paid more for.Lastly, perhaps updating some of the narration with highlights of more OLD places (churches for example) would be of more interest.
