Philipp Fella: Outstanding, friendly, professional service - buying new skates!My wife and I went to the shop to get some new skates for recreational skating.Already the first phone contact with Jared was friendly, good and professional.Once we arrived in the store we got offered exceptional service with good and profound knowledge and Jared measured us up for the perfect fit and explained what is important to make sure we get a skate that suits our needs. During the process he listened to us and gave helpful input at the same time.We decided for a better model then initial planed, but don't regret it one bit, as the skates perform outstanding from the first time on the ice. Super comfortable and great for our skating style.To make that possible at a later stage also Derek joined in, to get the fitting process done together with Jared for the both of us.They preheated the shoes, fitted them perfect and recommended and performed the most suitable sharpening.We had a good chat with both of them during the sales process and enjoyed the time in the shop and will come back for sure.As the shop has a great variety in soft goods as well we found some nice functional wear for us in addition.We have been super happy with the store and specially the service that Jared and Derek provided.Keep the great work up

saoulons: This store has always been awesome. They seem to always be short-staffed but they are always super nice and attentive. Tom and Adam are great and know a lot about all the gear and upcoming releases from the different brands.Inventory can be lacking at times but they will check other stores and order online for you if necessary. They do all the little things like make sure they apply discounts. Online will have the reviews but if you want a good discussion about the equipment, you have to come to the store.

Came in to get a skate sharpening on Saturday 6/19 I was really impressed with how understaffed they were and how well they handled it. Still very helpful and patient with customers who needed help. We feel very comfortable coming here and trust everyone. We have worked mainly with Scott and Paul and wouldn’t switch to another place. They are very knowledgeable and very helpful. We don’t mind the 45 minute drive even when we come just for sharpening.

C L: For pro figure skaters and ice dancers only: Scott at Cooke’s is the tech you may want to work with. His expertise is in figure skating. However, sharpening at Cooke’s is a bit less aggressive. I asked for 3/8 but usually returned with 1/2~7/16. If you’re pursuing deep sharp edges like me, go with another skates store in Peabody. The Sharper’s Edge.

CJ D: I have never been to a place where they are better and more professional. Mike helped my son with a pair of hockey skates after he grew too large. He had his skates ready and In time for his practice later that night.

Maurice Peploski: Coming here was absolutely worth the ~45 min drive. If you order skates through them, they will heat mold and reshape the skates for free. They had no problem taking the skates back to make some extra room 2-3 times. They asked me to walk in them and saw that my gait was a bit uneven, so they put in a shim to help. I asked if my clumsy walking would affect their decision and they said they can tell the difference 😁They unfortunately don't have many men's figure skates in store, but ordering them took just a week.

Kathy Casey: I figure skate and go to Cookes Skate Supply for all my needs. Just got new blades and boots. Great customer service and lots of selection for figure and hockey skates. They also sell hockey apparel and equipment. However, the best part is they know how to sharpen figure skates CORRECTLY. Alot of places do not know how and screw up the edges badly. They are the best in the business and the owner is a great person along with his employees!

Rick Knapp: Roller skates were tight fitting; they had the equipment to make them comfortable (stretching). Again, it took a couple of tries, but Scott nailed it, and her feet don't hurt no more! A pleasure, and no doubt they know their business well. An appointment is needed if you want to be served when you get there. Thumbs up guys.

Tiffany: I have gone to the Cookes since I was a little girl. A little over three decades to be exact. I have been skating and competing and traveled all over the world. Reached the highest level in figure skating and with my skates and blades ALWAYS from the Cookes. Most recently I went with a friend to get my skates sharpened elsewhere as I had just recovered major foot surgery and thought I was very much due for new skates, so I thought. I was told my skates couldn’t be built out at all as the seams would give out and boots would break apart. (First lie) I decided to try a different person and place other then Cookes for my skates and blades to coach as this person seemed knowledgeable on skates and blades. Well needless to say by this person’s recommendations. I got sized for Aura skates. I’m coaching and my feet have never been able to go in heels since my surgery on my right foot. While still needing surgery on my left. I was told this boot is ideal for my feet as there molded to my feet. After over 8 weeks of waiting I got the skates back. The pain of just putting the new skates on was absolutely unbearable. I spent an hr at this shop having them adjusted. I didn’t even want to leave and was told to skate and try them on the ice. I was told it’s the look, you didn’t want white boots this is why you don’t like them” I was insulted as clearly he didn’t know my feet and said you can come back after you coach in them but I think you’ll be fine”’! I took them and paid for them. I went to work, put them on. I wanted to contact my son to bring my old skates to the rink. In tears these skates felt worse then my other ones. I was at a loss. I went back to this person to have him make right. Unfortunately did not and kept saying things that clearly with no understanding of my feet and pretty much telling me I’m wasting much of his time trying to fix them and there custom skates so he can’t do anything other then send them back to redo them. I told him my daughters skates feel better then these custom skates. So he went upstairs to grab the SAME skates my daughter has half size smaller and said put them on and don’t bend” I did, these did not hurt like my new custom skates proving white skates is not my issue. It’s these skates, all I wanted to do was leave. I didn’t want to send the skates out I was mentally done. At a loss. I immediately called Scott and needed to tell him I strayed away and cheated on Cookes!! What the hell was I thinking!?? Scott brought me in immediately took my old boots, HIS boots from 2001 and guess what?!! He BUILT them up and my orthodontist inside!!!! WOW can’t be done huh! No pain you say!! While I was suffering, excruciating pain in these for months. Also Scott came out with measurements of my feet since I was a KID he had my charts since I was little and first starting off with his father. I had tears in my eyes. The fact this is NOT just a business. Cookes is a proud skating family. Scott told me Tiffany these skates you were put in, are not for your feet for the heel alone! I knew I was right. Scott was explaining everything with my surgical foot and the one needing the surgery. Scott was absolutely saving me money as I was ready to buy yet another pair of skates right then and there. Scott said , let’s hold off a little while with what I have done. Scott built out my skates not one BUT two sizes and built up on my orthotics. The master work he puts into every skate is truly amazing!!! I have always sent my students and friends who skate and play hockey to Scott. The Kane family, Catherwood fam, Forristall fam, so many more. How I strayed to give someone else business BIG mistake and I won’t EVER do that again!!! SCOTT knows your feet!!!! He remembers everything about you with his charts and saves everything on you. The time and effort into his clients are like a phenomenal Dr and his patient

Andrew Hackett: Needed new skates in a pinch and had been on my current ones for almost 20 years. A buddy of mine has had good experiences at Cookes so I figured I would give it a shot. They assessment my broken skates, gave me an option to fix them, but we both determined it was best to invest the money in new skates. They took the time to measure me properly, heat and fit and then adjust a few areas specific to my feet. I left after a great experience with a new pair of skates I will have for a long time. Jessica K: Scott is an expert. He listened to what I was looking for (a pro level skate to replace skates from when I was 13, but not competitive level). I was able to try on a few pair, really get a feel for each skate and then I was ordered the perfect pair. When I went to pick them up the fit was checked, adjusted, and my blades adjusted to work for my gait. If you’re looking for long term skates that are just right for you. F K: The staff at Zwicker especially the manager Stacey has always been honest and helpful to me. They are a great store and resource for hockey players from beginners to the seasoned. From a consumer's perspective, their pricing are competitive for retailers but you will get an honest and real assessment of the equipments as well as good post sale services. I had trouble with the fitting of my Bauer Vapor X600 skates and even after a year of wear and tear, Zwicker would still willing to reheat my skates to correct the adjustments for me. Most of the folks who work at Zwicker love and play hockey. Zwicker is the place for hockey players.

They had a great selection of high quality sticks at all skill levels. We were searching for an intermediate/advanced stick. John and his staff were extremely helpful. We had been to several stores before visiting Hit the Net Sports and no one came close to their selection. John actually special ordered the Dita Terra 40 for us. They also let her try out the sticks on the premises. The store was easy to get to and worth the drive for us from Wellesley. We will be back for lacrosse season!

Later, I've been back for Hocsocs, Nike athletic socks that meet uniform requirements, and a new mouthguard. And yes, I even bought one of those field hockey player magnets for the car! I once arrived to find the size of socks I needed out of stock, but the staff was great; they placed a special order and emailed me when it arrived just days later. It's great to have a store right in Acton, MA where you can find everything you need for field hockey, and actually see it/try it before buying. We will be back!

Hit the Net Sports is right on 2A in Acton MA and it's where we'll be going the next time my son loses his mouthguard on the way to a game. ;)

H Lakhani: Today I visited and was extremely disappointed with the chaos at the store. There were numerous attempts to get someone to help but it never materialized until I had to stop a senior looking person and let him know how frustrating the over thirty minutes of wasted time has been. He was very defensive and told me that there are all these other people waiting and they have come before us, which was completely wrong. He asked my son to stay in front of the check out desk so they can see him and attend to us. I saw many people just helplessly waiting. I did two rounds and found only two staff members actively working with customers. One of the customers was may be a VIP with whom one staff was continuously engaged. I found four to five other staff walking around, talking on the phone, rearranging stuff or were coming in and out of the backroom. While the customer lineup kept getting longer.Whoever manages the store has no concept of customer management. Staff are nice and knowledgeable. But they can only satisfy customer needs if the management and systems allow them. Instead of serving individuals for hours, doing non-urgent tasks, and hiding in the back room, they should be all hands on deck when there is a surge of customers. They should institute number system to address first come first serve, and institute appointments during non-busy times for fitting and long durations.I will check twice next time before going.I give the service ZERO rating in the absence of negative numbers. Did not meet my expectations at all.

Joe Picano: Sent my son into the Bauer Store to buy a goalie stick and get a pair of skates sharpened. They had only one Senior Goalie Stick on the shelf and it was last years, underperforming/overpriced top end model. A new model that is less expensive has come out this year and apparently the Bauer Store does not have the latest models of Bauer equipment. I had my son practice with an old stick tonight, and will be returning the product in the morning. Likely will buy the new Bauer model at one of the many local hockey shops that Bauer built its name on. This corporate store disrespects their distribution channel every day.

Raffi Der Sarkissian: Amazing as always. Tom helped my son with fitting his shin guards and had the know how to make sure it was a perfect fit. He then helped with trying to get his new skates to fit better. Jeff (store manager) came over and had some suggestions as well. They helped with the fit and left us with the reassurance that if they weren’t “perfect” we can further work in the fit. Not sure you can get better knowledge or service at any other shop. Well done!!

Joshua Santerre: Product selection is there if you are a Bauer person, which I am. But the service here is nothing like it was before Pure's purchase of these stores. The Pure that was there had great service, much like most of their stores. But the employees (high school kids) here were just hanging out together talking. Asked where the stock of goalie masks were and all they had to say was whatever was on display is what they have. When I finally settled on taking a display model I asked for the bag/box for it. Fortunately at this point an older gentleman that was there with Pure overheard and helped me out. Then I get in a line 8 people long with only one cashier and other employees just standing there with hands in pockets. Pure management needs to get on making the customer service experience in line with their other stores.
