Turnstyle - Kendall Square: what do users think?
Sarah Crawford: One of the best cycling classes I’ve been to in Boston! The staff is FANTASTIC - kind, friendly, and personable. The Ariana Grande ride on Wednesday with Jesse was a truly motivational and intense workout. Steph is also a fantastic instructor! Parking is truly the only downside to this location but staff can help you find permit free streets to park on nearby. Cant wait to ride again soon 🚴‍♀️
Lauren Worcester: I’ve been going to Turnstyle for around 5 years now and I can’t get enough! The Kendall location is my favourite, but I recommend all highly! Kendall has clean facilities, good amenities, friendly staff who learn names quickly, and awesome instructors who will ensure you get a great workout. Be wary of parking! It’s metered unless you’re a resident and with current construction spots might be hard to come buy so plan accordingly!
Heather MacEwen: Great, local spin class! Intense workouts that are also beginner friendly. Especially love the changing music/themes you can choose from each week.
Mae Sefransky: Found this studio shortly after I moved to Cambridge, it has been my go-to ever since! Fantastic instructors, great music themes, and really understanding front desk staff!
Katherine Triebel: Great small spin studio with awesome people and super fun and challenging classes! You never know exactly what to expect because every class is different, but I never regret going. Great community of riders and instructors!
Hannah Ruth Ellen: Love this studio! The teachers are amazing and you can pick the class based on the musical artists that will be playing in the class so you can really select the style that will pump you up. They always mix up the playlists too so you don't get sick of any songs. It's also really affordable, great deals and class packs, the spin shoes are included w/ each class and are high quality (leather with good stretch but firm hold), the place is clean, and people are friendly and positive.
Theresa L'Etoile: I absolutely LOVE turnstyle! It's definitely the best, most afforable spin studio I've been to in the Boston area. All of the instructors and staff are wonderful, I would highly recommend!
Jeff Biestek: Get here a little early to make sure you can put your personal belongings in a locker and get your shoes on!
patil Roupelian: It was my first time ever taking a cycling class and it was so much fun!!! Instructors and staff are very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend!
Kathryn Geiger-Schuller: Turnstyle will give your spot away to people on the waitlist. We showed up to a class yesterday several minutes early only to find that both spots (myself and my friend) had been given to waitlisters. Make sure you show up very early for classes even if you reserve a spot.
Kate M: Love this place!
Kimberly Rowan: The instructor was great! However, there was zero air ventilation in the studio.
Ben B: Lol this place is weird.
Chris P.: Ridiculous fees and charges.
Celine Nie: I love this place. I personally only attend their TRX classes which are always a challenge if you make it. The instructors are motivating, helpful, and want you to have perfect form (something I admire). They emphasis your own personal strength and challenge you. Love it.
Carrie Bevis: Turnstyle tends to offer slightly more affordable spin classes (compared to Soulcycle and Flywheel) but the instructors are just as energized and awesome. People rave about Dr. DEEPAK at Kendall, a spunky instructor with intense motivational coaching throughout. They offer cycling and bootcamp style classes. I always get a good sweat. Plus there are great places to grab a bite or a beer post class in this Kendall alcove.
M G: Whips you into shaoe for sure.
Stephane Alexandre: YES. YES. YES. Muscles you didn't even know existed!
Audrey V: TRX workout is tough. Good music. Make it as intense as you want
Jenny Xu: Good small spin studio for a really intense workout with themed hype music!
Glenda Naff Jaswal: Very very good spin classes. Want to sweat and have fun doing it? This is your place!

BodyScapes Fitness Kendall Square: what do users think?
Sara Bator: Great atmosphere and lovely staff to make you feel welcome!
Cassandra Rogers: Front desk staff are amazingly nice and helpful and the gym is pretty well equipped. When I visited only 1 shower was working properly in the women's locker room but the one that did was decent.
oo-: Nice gym
Brendan A: Opens too late. Closes too early. :(
Vikram Balakrishnan: The facility is good, however if you are trying to cancel membership, it is tricky. They don’t provide the ability to cancel membership through their online portal. They don’t have an e-mail you can contact them through. The only way to contact them is through the contact form on their website. However, after submission there isn’t an automated acknowledgement that it has been submitted. So, in my case they claimed they didn’t receive my form. When I asked them for written confirmation that they did not receive my request to cancel, they ignored and they did not reply to it.
T: Decent Gym, lacking some key workout equipments. I visited and was thinking to sign up but I didn’t feel welcomed. No one greeted me when I got to the desk, there were a few people standing cracking jokes. I had to ask for help, It was as if they didn’t need my business. Front desk associate never smiled, so yeah, a little awkward
Oliver Janovitz: Terrible. They have a no guest policy, so when my fiance visits (~ 1 day per month) they don't allow her to come to the gym with me, despite having her liability forms on file. Terrible policy, not consistently enforced. Cancelled my membership, despite living the building.
Ben Pastor: This gym is pretty awful and not worth the money. I'd highly recommend several other places before here. I only went because we had a corporate discount, but immediately switched the first chance I got.The equipment is newer, but the staff never clean or wipe anything down. Normally I wouldn't mind as much, but they also don't refill the dispenser wipes, which means that I can't clean them either. When you ask for the wipes to be refilled, the staff usually looks extremely put out and suggest you try a different dispenser -- this happened several times. The locker rooms are OK at best. They seem to do the bare minimum -- if anything -- to fix any issues though. (i.e. it's normal for 1-2 of the 4 showers in the men's locker room to be out of order at any given time. The showers also seem pretty dirty and grimy. The one nice thing is that each locker is programmable so you can lock away your belongings.Trust me, there are much better places nearby.
J. Mike Remy: Fancy
D Walker: The employees are great and equipment is generally well maintained. My only complaint is that there has been no change (upgrades, new pieces) in the equipment in at least 5 years, so can get a bit monotonous compared with the larger chain gyms.
Boris S: Marina is the best!!! Awesome body-pump classes
Marina Vivero: Probably the nicest of the three locations. Lots of equipment options. Weight floor options a bit more limited than the Coolidge and Longwood locations, but still great. Very friendly and helpful staff.
DILEESH ALURI: It is great place for cross fit. It's got very intense activities.
shirleny arieta: Great place
Aidan K: This is the cleanest gym I've ever been to. The facilities are spotless, the staff is friendly, and the classes are top-notch. If you're struggling, folks help you out--that's uncommon.
Michael Huang: Great equipment and staff
Pascal Marmier: Great place for working out, very friendly staff.
Jim Mingle: Best gym in the world.. excellent staff.
Reiner See: A huge fully equipped physical fitness center = gym + spa + massage + physical therapy. The group exercise classes here are great!!!
Martin Spinner: I've been a member of this gym for 2 months, cancellation without problems.I do only weight training, and overall it was good. Areas of improvement : buy a new EZ bar for biceps, heavier dumbbells (stops at 85lbs, should go to 100 at least), and the most important a machine for calves (there is no standing or seating calves machine, making the training a bit difficult for this muscle).Otherwise it is clean and the staff is friendly.
Luke Pezanko: If anyone says this gym is not clean then they need to get their eyes reexamined; this gym is one of the cleanest I've ever been to. The staff is cordial and it's never too crowded. It offers a variety of exercises modalities and the bathroom/shower facilities are clean and well kept. The membership includes all three of the relatively local facilities; which is well worth the price. Highly recommended!

Healthworks Cambridge: what do users think?
Carter Chamberlain: Ignore this review. Google maps won't stop advertising Healthworks and rating it poorly is the only way to de-prioritize the recommendation. If the business paid for targeting advertising, they did so excessively and deserve this review.
T Lieberman: I've been really enjoying healthworks so far. I joined about 6 weeks ago, and have been really appreciating the frequent class schedule- including great challenging classes-, wide variety of equipment, sauna, clean locker room, and towel service. And great location. I now have a gym habit again after 18 years of trying occasionally and failing. The app for booking classes works really well, and I find that I can usually get the class I want. This is true even if a class initially looks booked, because of folks drop out on day of.One complaint would be that the gym says it is open until 9p but cleaners are working on the gym floor starting at 8p (though you can ignore them) and the sauna closes at 8:45p. It would be great to be truly open later. Another would be for the mics on the classes to be tested a little better, I often can't hear what the instructor is saying over the music.
Nicholas Coops: Professional staff
Adriana Azar: Nice, clean, great equipment, top facilities and classes. The only negative is how crowded it gets past 5.30pm. Other than that I love this place.
Sulafa Zidani: Giving this place two stars because they are charging way too much to have this kind of customer service. The location is great, however, they are non-responsive, and when they do respond, they talk down to customers. In my experience, they don't reply to emails, then on phone calls they'll say they will send information/forms via email and then never send it. There's also lack of transparency about charges during membership freeze, and that's another area where it seems patronizing and suspicious. For a place that's so expensive, this is unacceptable. I burned a lot more emotional energy than calories here, and I will be cancelling my membership.
Ash Blossoms: Do you love getting chased out of the gym at 8 p.m. to aggressive cleaners, an hour before the gym actually closes? Would you want to come here, every day, never complain once, then the one time you actually complain about something valid, have the general manager do nothing? Then this is the gym for you!
Stephanie Berk: Healthworks is the best gym. The staff, trainers, spa staff and classes are amazing. The facilities, showers, steam bath, sauna and locker room are amazingly clean, well maintained and a pleasure to use. I couldn't recommend this gym more highly. It is heavenly-
Biella Coleman: I'm a member of all three and my preference is to go to the Cambridge location due to parking and as it is closer to me. As someone who really loves a good sauna after a workout I have to say the wet/sauna area is showing it's age and in spite of them being good a cleaning, they are less on top of leaks and it appears like there is mildew growing on some of the tiles in the shower area and they are not taking care of leaks as quickly as I would expect. I am very mold sensitive and am finding that I will likely have to stop using this facility given the leaks/mold. I pointed out the leak that is in the picture below a few weeks ago and it is still there (as of Friday at least). I find the BackBay/Brookline locker room facilities are in far better shape. It's just there is no parking and so they are much less convenient facilities. Otherwise it is a a great facility and runs well but having mold free gym and taking care of leaks quickly are of the essence for those of us who are mold sensitive :(
Tanya Raymond: Staff are extremely rude and talk down to their customers. I’ve been warned about this place by former members. I will be canceling my membership. This place charges a lot of money for a lot of services. Customer service isn’t one of them.
Adelaide B: Been going here for a few months. Was sort of aimless at first but then started training with Ian once a week. He helped me build a solid routine, taught me form and consistency and all the intricacies of strength training. He’s incredibly knowledgeable and very good at his job. Highly recommend his services for anyone who wants to get seriously strong!
Morenvino M: Gender discriminative gym! I booked a class through their partner website, and was only told it's women only gym after I got there. Total waste of my time
Laura Grace: Love this gym. All the pamper-y amenities, classes are included in membership (and they're amazing), and the community is super inclusive.
Joy Kucinkas: Joined this gym in January… love the location, trainers, steam room/sauna and all the machines and classes!
Brandon Wilson: Been a member of the Cambridge Healthworks gym for several decades and rate it very highly for lots of reasons, including many workout amenities, convenient location in Porter Sq. w. parking and many other key businesses of convenience, extended hours, design and cleanliness of Club space, and friendly and professional staff, mgt. and trainers. Tends to be pricey, but overall, worth it if can afford it. Like their Foundation that also reaches out to less advantaged populations.
monique mcnally: Responsive management , clean areas, great staff, amazing wet room. Also a great place to take classes and get a personal trainer or a massage! Well worth the money
Grace: Healthworks is amazing!!! I love the staff and the amenities are fantastic. Sometimes I just go for the sauna. They waived my cancellation fees when I moved across the country too!! Just a sign of a great community establishment. Healthworks is what I will miss most about Boston!
Lynn Chou: I just joined recently and have loved being a member at Healthworks! It has friendly staff, clean facilities, great classes, and an amazing hot tub and sauna, which is always great for a post workout soak. Healthworks also has terrific member benefits and other cool programs — digital fitness platform, personal trainers, and onsite massages. Definitely recommend! :)
Danielle W: Great value and excellent services offered. This is truly a luxury gym and the staff keep up worth that image! Taylor is a great personal trainer and would recommend her to people of all abilities!
Jenna Sunshine: REALLY GREAT GYM! It is slightly more expensive than what I was used to, but I get 20x more stuff for the price!Classes are my jam (Zumba, Barre, Body Pump, etc); My old gym was $73/ month but they only offered ~2- 3 classes per day.Healthworks has ~20-25 CLASSES PER DAY!! There is barely an hour where there isn't a class offered. And they have every sort of class imaginable as well as a great cardio area a ton of training tools (TRX, medicine balls, bands, etc) a decent, (albeit somewhat small) free weight area, a ton of weight machines, and let's not forget one of my favorite things: they have a hot tub! Just 5 mins in there after a workout takes away all my aches & pains. Their locker room is amazing with towel service, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion, razors, shower caps, makeup removing wipes, hair dryers, a clothing steamer, vanity areas to put on makeup and do your hair. They have a pretty much nonstop locker room attendant that is always cleaning and restocking everything so it's a VERY CLEAN locker room (which is definitely not always the case with gym locker rooms!). They have personal trainers, massage therapists, child care, etc. At my old gym I rented a locker and they charged $32/month for it, so I was paying $105/month there anyway, and now I'm paying the same amount for a 10x the number of classes, and a ton more services and amenities. SO WORTH IT! I purchased the membership that enables me to go to their 3 other gyms as well but you can buy a membership to just one gym too. I got a free 2 week membership first to see if I'd like it, and there's absolutely no commitment to join after that; if you want me to help you get a free 2 week membership, just LMK!
Lisa Wood: I've been going here for a few years and have loved it. Lots of equipment, great classes, and I've never had to wait for a squat rack. Very clean and the staff is super helpful.Unfortunately, I've had to leave due to a move. The process to cancel is very painless and the membership associates go out of their way to make sure the process is quick and easy. Can't recommend this place enough.
J W: Predatory, they singed my 83 year old grandmother up when she walked by for a year and forced her to use her bank account versus a credit card. Made her sign a contract without giving her a copy of the contract. Scumbags.

Rev'd Indoor Cycling | Copley: what do users think?
Drew McClendon: I love this place! I have always wanted to join a cycle studio but was always nervous that I would not fit in, given some of the rhetoric you hear now a days. Rev’d has such a beautiful and diverse community, with knowledgeable instructors to match. I highly recommend trying them out, especially if you have been nervous about joining a studio. Best decision ever!
Kathryn Cavanaugh: My favorite spin class! I look forward to coming to class, everyone is so welcoming from the staff to the other athletes. I cannot say enough good things about this place! If youre looking for a supportive community of athletes, this is it!
Abbey Lopatka: I love rev'd cycling! This is the first fitness environment that has felt open, welcoming, and non-judgemental. The trainers are so friendly, the wall is so motivating, and the community is unmatched.
Kevin Pidgeon: Definitely my favorite spin studio in Boston. Staff is always super friendly and the instructors are top notch and always show up ready to give you your moneys worth. Some studios can be stuffy or a little pretentious, but you don't get any of that at Rev'd. Highly recommend!
Camille Mercado: Just finished a month of unlimited membership and I couldn't be happier! The front desk crew, instructors, and athletes all made me feel so supported in my training. I really love going to class everyday and am so happy to have joined.
Noa Raiter: super fun!
Leah Scheidemantel: Rev’d is so fun and welcoming! The front desk is always so sweet and I always look forward to going!
laura schell: Awesome cycling experience!!
Joy Wang: Revd is what got me addicted to exercise! The vibes of the studio are incredible, everything is sleek and well-run and everyone is so friendly. I love their style of spin as it really gets you in the zone and is super cathartic and fun! There are a bunch of instructors so you can try a lot of different classes at different times that work for your schedule. Highly recommend!
Taylor Fairweather: I was a little scared of going at first, but my friends convinced me & all I wanna do is spin! Everyone from the front desk, to the instructors, to even the other athletes are so kind & helpful. I leave always feeling empowered & ready to take on the day/week. Would recommend to anyone looking to try a new athletic activity out
Kassandra Boylan: I have had such a great experience here! Everyone is so friendly and welcoming, and I love the variety of classes here!
Shelley D: Came for a conference and wanted to do a spin class. Looked up a few places and this popped up. It’s a great 45 min workout and really friendly front desk. Highly recommend.
Emily Phares: I couldn’t say enough good things about this company and the community they’ve created. Every instructor has a different dynamic and approach to teaching and I’ve loved every class I’ve taken. The Copley studio is beautiful and conveniently located next to cafe Nero so you can reward all your hard work with a delicious latte:) Rev’d is like therapy to me. Came take a class and see why!

CYCLEBAR: what do users think?
Chandré Racca: Actually love this place. It's a whole vibe. A whole experience. Would totally sign up if it wasn't so expensive.
Katie Talacci: They always make me feel so welcome! All the instructors are great, and love the music they play. Favorite spin studio by far :)
Bengisu Ozbay (personal): I've been a member of Cyclebar Assembly Row for almost a year now. I have always loved cycling but as a previous instructor myself finding good instructors with a motivaying taste of music was never easy until a year ago. I love every class i am attending here! I also love the stats as it motivates how my performance improve or stay consistent. The staff is also great they are very friendly and responsive and i can get help over text. I am grateful for the friend who referred me and introduced me to this great studio.
Angela Gutchess: Friendly studio, with helpful staff and positive instructors. And it is always so clean! I initially didn't like seeing my metrics and the leaderboard but over time, I've found these useful for motivating myself to improve and track my progress. Good pricing, with memberships and occasional promotions, and free shoe rentals.
Brianna Ganimian: I loved this place! Just took my first class. Staff is unbelievable and helped me set up my bike, they provide shoes with the class and lockers as well. Overall great class, even have a nice stretch session at the end! I would recommend this place to anyone looking to try cycling.
Chelsea L: Leah is amazing she is an incredible instructor and you’ll be happy you want to her class! Studio overall is very clean always. Front desk staff is very friendly and helpful!
Brianna Kruczynski: I've been a member of Cyclebar Assembly Row since August and joining as an unlimited member was the perfect decision for me! It is the first time I've been consistent with any sort of exercise...ever. The stats help me to compete against myself and see how I improve over time. Each instructor adds a different flair to the class through their music and choreo style, and they all are amazing in their own way. The front desk staff is friendly, approachable, and willing to help with any issues that may come up. Super happy I found Cyclebar!
Emma Geary: CycleBar is a great studio. Super clean, friendly staff, easy to book. The classes work perfectly with my schedule and the 4 classes a month plan works great for me because I go on Saturday mornings! The instructors really push you and you get an incredible workout in. I also love how you can look at your stats and your class ranking at the end!
Hannah Roth: I love clipping in and being able to forget about everything else going on in my day! The loud music, positive energy, and dark room make it a fun part of my routine so I can quickly get into the workout and get a good sweat going!
rachel-lyn makuch: writing this review after a month of joining CycleBar as a unlimited class member. their pricing is unbeatable compared to other Boston studios. also, you get actual stats after each ride about how you performed - i don’t know any other studio in Boston that does this. i didn’t think i’d like the stats/subtle competition aspect but i love it because i work harder than i would normally in a regular class and feel like i am actually getting results. the staff is super friendly and helpful and all the instructors are great and play good music to ride to. Catyn’s Wednesday Empower class is by far my favorite because it’s all about speed and endurance and cuts out the coreography (tap backs, presses, etc.) and she is pretty funny which is a bonus. if you are unsure which studio to join, definitely check out CycleBar, they even offer your first class free.
Jill Young: I’m obsessed with Cycle Bar. Leah is the best instructor I’ve ever had in all my years of spinning. Her playlists are straight fire, she pushes you and makes you want to beat your cycle stats every ride. Cycle Bar is extremely clean all the way around, the associates are so friendly and booking is easy. 12/10 recommend!
Andi Babbs: Friendly staff. The studio is both modern and clean. They offer various types of rides. If you are a beginner, no worries, just come early and the staff can assist you with the setup. I'd recommend booking a bike in advance over walk in since they fill up fast. You are able to book a bike up to a week in advance. Shoes are available for rent or purchase.
Jingle Huang: The staff is super helpful and helped with the cycling shoes during my first session. I took a few outdoor spin classes in the summer and early fall. Late fall they are offering indoor and outdoor depending on time of day and weather. Masks are required indoors. Machines are spaced apart and sanitized between classes. Sign up early as sometimes the classes get booked up. Like many fitness studios, they offer evening classes during the week but not weekends.
Hech Rhymes: Love this place! It’s a vibe!
Stephen Ferrigno: Great instructors, but the weekend classes are always fully booked. Frustrating to buy a pass and not have any classes to attend.
Nikita Shah: Great class!!!
Gopi Dhokai: I have been going all summer and it’s been my favorite place to get a workout! The instructors know how to motivate you and push you without getting too preachy. The staff is helpful, and they provide a lot of amenities that I didn’t know could elevate my exercising experience.
Kayla Mills: The studio was so clean, instructor was full of energy and the class was challenging. I took a hip hop class and the music was on point. I will be returning for sure!
Lindsay O'Grady: Cyclebar is a great spin studio part of the amazing FitRow facility at Assembly Row. The variety of classes fit everyone’s needs and the instructors are all welcoming yet motivating. The studio is always so clean and the best part is the cold towels they give you at the end of a class! I’d definitely recommend Cyclebar to anyone looking for a really good workout in a non-intimidating environment!
Alyssa Tarnok: Love, love, LOVE this studio! The classes are the perfect mix of challenging and fun. The studio is really clean; they offer lavender-scented cold towels and fruit after your ride. The staff is super friendly and the environment isn't intimidating at all! Your first ride is free so everyone should try it!! You'll be hooked.
Amanda Costa (amc092): I love cyclebar!! I have tried a few other spin studios in the area and they just don’t compare. I have taken several classes there and all were great, upbeat and inspiring. What stood out to me is the first time I went there I was welcomed as a new rider. Even though the class was full, the instructor Caroline welcomed me and helped me set up the bike. I have never had such great service elsewhere. I love the technology and cycle stats which help me to push hard and see my progress over time. These workouts have really helped me improve my endurance and I always look forward to coming back!

The Handle Bar Indoor Cycling Studio: what do users think?
Mary McCrossan: I've been going to this studio for about 5 years. I've had other lifestyle changes, but cycling has helped me lose 50 lbs. I go to the Kendall Square studio and the staff there is so friendly. It can be intimidating starting a new class, but this group welcomes new participants with open arms. Classes are fun and not to mention an unbelievable workout. My favorite teachers are Courtney, Jessie K, and Mary. (Amy is wonderful at the front desk as well). I definitely recommend checking it out if you are into group fitness classes! Great vibes!
Julie White: Amanda McClure’s class on Saturday’s at 9:15 is the perfect start to my day. I just love that she has a song before the last song where we just vibe and take the whole song for ourselves. Really therapeutic to take a second to pause and be grateful in our busy lives. Also love the work Handlebar does for mental health/recovery and raising awareness. Had to buy the “I Care About Your Mental Health” sweatshirt as soon as it dropped. You guys are really amazing, and now that I know there are fellow BPS teachers behind the front desk I just love ya all more :). Thanks so much for all you do!
Sophia Blachman-Biatch: Best spin studio hands down
Peter Waite: Great studio with even better people! Incredible service throughout my time there, staff was friendly, informative, and helpful to new riders. Jess brought the energy.
Anna Johannes: Great and helpful staff. I'm going to be sore for days!
Bailey Cornell: Took a class on Friday with Maddy and it was AMAZING! Great workout, great playlist, great vibes
ali omrani: It has a good vibe, with professional trainers who understand cycling and are attentive.
Taylor Masse: Meredith Doty is the best. I get an awesome work out every time and she makes working out less dreadful.
Brittany Walker: Staff is friendly & classes will certainly give you an excellent workout! Has 2 changing rooms + 2 bathrooms. No showers. Be sure to ask about opportunities to do a charity ride as a fundraiser for your favorite non-profit.
Nathen Rogers: Have never taken a cycling class before, but this was amazing! I feel so empowered!
Samantha Holland: I visit every time I am in the city! I never leave without getting my butt kicked!
Deirdre L: Love it.
Chris Sanders: Intense workout! Don't underestimate the 60 min classes—kicked my a**! My first HandleBar experience. Staff very welcoming. Loved how Danelle got off halfway through and walked around the room really pushing each one of us. HandleBar could use more lights / effects to motivate but overall great studio and look forward to going back!
Maggie Ibrahim-Taney: The Handle Bar is the best spin studio in Boston! Your experience starts as soon as you walk in the door with friendly faces to greet you! Then get ready for a great ride with top notch instructors!! The music is current, the choreography is solid and you're gonna need that towel to wipe your brow!! I can guarantee you will leave feeling strong, confident, and ready to tackle anything that comes your way!!
Brian Kearney: Went here for the first time and got a good sweat in. Staff were welcoming and the workout was solid. The studio and workout is pretty on par with other studios but at a more affordable price.
Julie Moody: The best spin studio in Boston! Going to a class at The Handle Bar is always the highlight of my day. The instructors are amazing and I love the community at the studio.
Josh Trubow: I signed up for a trial class at the Fenway location when they first opened and I'm happy I gave it a try. I purchased a pack of passes and I'm looking forward to using them over the coming winter months. The classes I've attended have been about half full, so it doesn't feel overwhelming or packed, and if you have questions about setting up the bike the instructors are their and able to help you. The music is loud and inspiring, and the air conditioning and fans inside the studio are helpful to keep you from overheating since the room isn't very large. The classes now have shoes built into the price, so just shop up early and get set up, you'll have a great time and a rigorous workout. My only complaint is that for people who don't live in Fenway, it can be very difficult to find parking nearby.
Nathaniel Gopen: I never thought I would ever do spin class in my life. However, they opened up one in Fenway and I went to a free class. Afterwards I felt completely energized and rejuvenated. I bought a package of classes and have gone a few times since then. It's a great way to push through a long week or night and get out all the toxins while increasing your energy for the day. I love the EDM classes that Lena teaches and Cara as well. It has good music, club like feel with the dark class room and colored LED lights that help you pedal up those hills. I'll definitely be going a lot this winter when I can't bike outside. The staff is also very nice and helpful!

Cambridge Athletic Club: what do users think?
GlutenFreeSTEMgal: For starters this gym has a stretch to it that is a combination of we tried to clean but also a dirty dried up sock found in a corner that is nice and crusty. The staff is generally pretty friendly but rarely do you see them wondering around. Mostly glued to the phone. The showers are also incredibly gross and the shower curtain looks like it hasn’t been changed in years and has mold growing on it. The morning hours are generally less packed but the evenings, good luck finding space in this compact gym.
Becka Simon: Very straightforward, compact gym. It's a great quality gym for the convenient location and decent price. It can get a little crowded after work, and I wish there was another squat rack, but generally, I'm very satisfied with CAC.
Alexander Roederer: A good, compact gym at a reasonable price. The facilities are clean and the staff is friendly, and they've got basically all the equipment you need for weightlifting (squat racks, free weights, deadlift bars, cable machines, medicine balls and kettlebells), even if there's not tons of duplicates of things and there's limited floor space to do lifts (my only slight gripe is there's no deadlift platform, so you just have to claim a spot on the floor). It gets crowded in the after-work hours, but if your regular gym time is any other time I'd recommend it, as you'll almost never have to wait to use any particular piece of equipment, and at some off hours you'll be close to having the place to yourself. And of course there's plenty of treadmills, ellipticals, stair steppers and two rowing machines etc if cardio's your jam.EDIT: I'd increase this review to 6 stars if possible. Unfortunately I'm leaving the area, and so had to cancel my membership, but CAC made this very easy with an online cancellation form, and happily cancelled at my request, not requiring me to jump through a bunch of hoops. It is so rare to find a gym that does not try to trick you or goad you at all. So great!
Andrew McLaughlin: Positive:Professionalism,QualityJust got my first workout in during my lunch hour and had the entire place to myself. Sparkling clean, all the equipment was in great condition, and it's only steps away from my office at One Kendall Square!
Tara Maloney: CAC is one of the best gyms around! The friendly staff are always there to greet you with a smile (and fresh towel if needed), and the group fitness instructors (especially for Les Mills!!) are extremely welcoming and encouraging! During the pandemic, CAC stopped charging all of its members and provided free online/virtual group classes for its members as well as a free trial membership with Les Mills on demand. When they finally opened their doors back up, the staff went out of their way to reach out to members multiple times and provide detailed information, and even allowed members to continue to freeze their memberships until they were comfortable to come back to the gym. The quality of care at CAC is just not comparable to any other gym I’ve been a member of. Don’t hesitate to join, you won’t regret it!
Kue R: Been about 2 weeks of actual Jesus music? All praise the Lord but doesn't exactly suit lifting.Actual lyrics playing right now: lift up your voice and say Amen, God is gonna move you say Amen.Next Song: we are the voices to God he deserves our prayer. Chains cannot hold us tight. Choose to be free. We are the new kingdom.Cambridge Athletic Cult?
Alyssa Jones: Great, compact little gym. CAC is small but they have everything you need to get a good workout, and in my experience they generally aren’t over crowded, which also helps to get in a good and ENJOYABLE workout.Locker rooms are clean. As an added bonus, the staff here is exceptionally friendly and welcoming.
Mark Tebbe: The staff is friendly and welcoming, most of them welcome me by name, the place is clean and bright, good music but not too loud, plenty of equipment and trainers. Really a nice place.
Liz Jukovsky: I think that CAC is a great gym for working professionals in the area. I find the CAC team to be friendly, and the machines and equipment are reliable. My only constructive feedback would be that somehow opening up the stretching areas and maybe adding another area for TRX bands would be helpful. I also do wish this location was open on weekends - 215 First St. is a lovely location, but far enough away that it's a bit of a drag in the winter.
Thomas Dubois: All the facilities are very clean, and rarely ever busy. They have a large variety of classes that are scheduled all times of the day. Some of the weight lifting equipment is limited though, with only really one specific machine for any exercise, and some machines; such as calf raises or seated row they don't have or they only have at one particular facility. For the most part though, all the essential or typical weight lifting equipment is there.
Jhon Henao: Very clean, less than a min walk from work. Has all the necessities including showers with complimentary towels, soap and shampoo. My only complaint would be the dumbbells, they aren't organized by weight and are all over the place on the rack. They should have someone fix it every now and then while enforcing people to make sure they put the weights in the right location. Other than that I like it!
Jonathan Adams: Nice, clean location. A little on the small side but with a good schedule of classes serving the workweek schedule of surrounding Kendall Sq.
