East Cambridge Savings Bank: what do users think?
Zelia Santos: Love East Cambridge Saving bank!!Been with them since i was like 15-16yr old
Emily Beato: The account is easy to manage and opening the account is very quick. There’s just one problem. If there’s something wrong with your card such as potential fraud or any kind of suspicious activity, they never contact you about it. I used my card in February 4th. Since then, it kept declining at stores. I just called today and discovered my card was closed and they also thought there was fraud involved! They never notified me about anything! I had to learn the hard way! I’m seriously considering closing my account and getting a new bank! They seriously need to CONTACT the card holder and actually notify them if there’s something wrong! It would save so much time and embarrassment!
Frank Pinto: My family has used ECSB for over 20 years. The staff are always to the point, but friendly. Very transparent way of doing business and the bank has a nice atmosphere.
Renyson gomes: Well to begin with....clerk was friendly but her helper was a pain .....to get change from the bank you need to open an account if you don't have account this so called BANK dnt provide any kind of help for changing big bills.....bloody desperate to have accts

Cambridge Savings Bank: what do users think?
Reid Savage: Have had an account here for... hmm, probably (including joint accounts with my parents) my entire life? 30 or so years? I felt pretty whatever about them for a while, but there were 2 reasons for this rating:1. At one point they re-ordered transactions in my account in order to incur the maximum overdraft. I had one large transaction and many small transactions that happened from the same merchant, but were days apart - and contrary to the order in which they came in/were processed, they made it so that the largest transaction hit first, putting me $10 in the negative, then the 6 smaller transactions (all $5-10) after, so I incurred $35 * 6 overdraft fees. Known as "debit resequencing".2. After that incident, I pared down my usage of this bank, but still used it for convenience. Recently, I had the account negative by exactly $1.69. Before being able to ACH that amount to get it to 0 and call them to close it, they closed it with no notification, and I just found myself locked out of my account, probably deleted. Cool!Don't ever bank here. Horrible rates on every product, horrible management.
Elena Saporta: I have been a CSB customer for over 30 years and have always appreciated the friendly, personal and helpful attention I receive!
Dan Paikowsky: I had a relationship with Cambridge Savings Bank for the past 10 years or so. Before I started moving my money away I had over $500k in deposits across my accounts. For basic checking and savings activities they are okay, but otherwise bureaucratic, inefficient, outdated, and incompetent.I had to switch all of my business banking to different banks that offered modern and reasonable service because I couldn't operate them in a normal manner with what CSB was giving me. I largely moved my personal banking away after an unpleasant experience with the local branch manager. The final straw on my personal accounts was a decision that they wouldn't complete a wire transfer to a "digital currencies" business. Should change the name to soviet russia savings bank, because it more accurately describes the level of ineptitude and meddling.
M D: We have conducted a study to see how the bank tellers are treating the minorities. This bank was one of the worst in the city. They have interrogated and discriminated the international students. Especially Ethan is the worst bank teller has been ever seen in this perspective. BE AWARE. Do NOT OPEN AN ACCOUNT in this hostile bank. If you have an account, close it as soon as possible.
Aly S: They’re so nice and super helpful!
中村則子: 旅行者の両替に対しても、親切に対応してくれます。有り難いです。
Gabriel Flynn: I went straight to CSB when I arrived in Cambridge from the UK to set up a student account. I was going to go to Bank of America but I checked out CSB first because of the good reviews and I'm so glad I did. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. They even made me a coffee while we set up the account. I left with an account open, a working debit card, and online banking ready to use. The nicest experience I've ever had in a bank!
Matt H: Great local bank with top rates and excellent customer service.
岳璞珏: Harvard paid the Red line to slow down in advance when passing by because they don't want a house inside Harvard yard got crushed.

Cambridge Trust: what do users think?
marc hershon: im reading the reviews and im very surprised. i went to the wellesley office to open an account. i was greeted very politely and tim sat with me for as long as i needed, answered my questions and was fantastic. this bank has some of the highest savings rates anywhere and there are physical locations with real people to answser questions i am extremely happy with this bank.
M D: There is a branch manager who is very unprofessional, surly, and downright incompetent at Harvard Square branch.I have had this account for 10 years and first time saw this incompetent manager who is treating very discriminatory against the customer(s) based on the sound of their name origin. To add insult to injury, he began to ask me the security questions and denied my ID to do any transactions in the bank which used to do with other bank teller and personnel.Stay away this branch!
Miguele: The management of this banking group is among some of the unscrupulous that I have dealt with. If they make ANY promises or representation to you, be sure to get it in writing, because they will later deny that to you detriment without regret.
fafalanga1: Best bank to work with. Friendly, responsive customer service ever!
Harvey Silverglate: I have been a customer of the Harvard Trust Company/Harvard Square branch for a half-century and counting. The Harvard Trust at Harvard Square offers superlative service and goes out of its way to help its customers (who are treated like clients, not just customers).
Steven Bane: Called several times to request a mortgage statement and they said will send it through e-mail but they never do. Very frustrating.I reached out to Jason Schweiger and he was kind enough to resolve the issue.
Terrell Scott: I agree with the previous review of this bank. The bank officers are rude, supercilious and just flat-out arrogant. No detail is too large for them to overlook. They are frequently brusque, curt and generally unhelpful - it seems a challenge for them to be even somewhat professional. On a much more positive note, I have enjoyed my day-to-day interaction with the bank tellers. They are prompt and courteous, making a strong effort to remember everyone. A dramatic dichotomy.
Yaoyu Wang: After getting mortgage from Cambridge Trust almost 10 years ago, I applied for refinance in the Spring. All of the representatives were highly disorganized, did not put effort into communication, and often appear that they don't know the regulation well. They mis-communicated on the required forms and repeatedly asked the same forms. Once I submitted all materials, they then forgot my application for more than a month until the rate lock was almost expired.I asked about updated rate multiple times, but was ignored by everyone on the team. They rushed me to provide them with additional information because of the delay. Once the mortgage was finalized, the representative then informed me that the current rate was lower than the rate we locked on. They then sold my mortgage immediately to a national big bank. The whole purpose of me using Cambridge Trust was to work with a local bank. However, apparently they do not value local customers wanting to work with a local bank. Poor experience. I will not recommend anyone to work with them.
Curtis Fuller: Overdrafted me on christmas. Awesome
Jill Smith: Super service, and unlike other banks, will not sell or repurpose any of your information, save for government issued warrants. NOTE, most other financial institutions reserve the right to sell your data even after you've closed all of your accounts with them. Cambridge Trust is the best! All branches have coffee and a fireplace too!
Matt Cloyd: I've been a customer for a couple years, and I always come to this branch. I always receive prompt and friendly service, and when I was fighting with a credit card company, one rep did their best to help me out. Decent online banking, too.The only negative is that there aren't many ATMs and Cambridge Trust is not part of the SUM network. But, their non-free checking covers ATM fees, so it evens out.
