Nhi Vo: Excellent service, spacious restaurant. Unfortunately the food was served cold. Small portions for the high prices.Food: 2/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Moonstone08: Everything about this place gives me a sense of home. The vegetarian and vegan dishes are so good, and I've also attached the picture of the foods I ordered! (I had ordered the large coconut rice, the Buddha Yam "pot", stir fried noodles, and stir fried veggies!) I definitely recommend this place!Vegetarian options: Would forever recommend it! This place has been my family’s favorite for as long as I could remember.
Ethan Penry: Food was okay, but small portions for the price.Food: 2/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More

Chantel Blanchette: Never having been for Malaysian food before, we were excited to see such a wide range of new dishes and flavours to choose from. If we lived in Massachusetts we'd be back to try more. The portions were large and the seafood was cooked to perfection. Food was delicious and the decor made it feel like we were on holiday.
Hamza Malik: Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 4/5Recommended dishes Curry Beef Brisket, Beef Chow Fun, Young Chow Fried Rice, Hainanese Chicken with RiceMore
Crystal Bernier: The whole experience was fantastic. Our waitress was amazing. She kept our kids (and other kids at the restaurant) engaged and I actually got to eat without interruptions. They’re asking to go back to see her. She anticipated our every need too. Drinks, napkins, and a fork when she saw me struggle with chopsticks.Food was amazing and came out fast, the prices were excellent, and the restroom was very clean. I’d recommend to anyone, but especially families with hungry kids after a show. Also liked how wheelchair accessible it seems, with ramps and actual space you don’t see in a lot of the older Boston buildings.Vegetarian options: A whole page of vegetarian plates and plenty peppered throughout the menu. They were very nice/accommodating when I asked if we could get a dish with meat without.Kid-friendliness: Our waitress was amazing! She played and chatted with my kids the entire time we were there, keeping them happy and engaged. They’re already asking when we can go back and hope to see her there!Wheelchair accessibility: Ramps throughout, ample space throughout despite being an older building, and tables ready to accommodate accessibility.
Brian Nguyen: Fast and deliciousFood: 5/5|Service: 3/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Cheryl Saidi-Johnson: As a native Singaporean, I was excited to try out this Malaysian restaurant. I had a few appetizers. The fried wings were pretty delicious as the breading was really good. For the main dish, I shared the Nasi Lemak, Beef Rendang, Spicy Thai chicken (the best of these choices), and Hokkien Char Mee. Overall, they were not flavored/spiced well, and the food was just "okay." The piece de resistance was the bubur cho cho... my usual favorite dessert of all time. I had to return it. It was slosh with broken pieces of stuff inside. That's a "no."
brad new: Great dishes and they have some imported beers! Portions could be bigger for price

Jea Kim: As one of the very few Malaysian places in the city, Penang is a decent spot to enjoy Malay and Chinese cuisines. My friend and I recently stopped by to try something different than Chinese or Taiwanese food. They weren't very busy on a Saturday night, and from the inside, it seemed like a typical Asian restaurant. We ordered the Hainanese chicken, beef rendang, and the pineapple fried rice, and everything came out within 15 minutes. The food, however, was a bit disappointing. We expected the beef rendang to fall apart, but it was overcooked to toughness that we gave up eating after our second piece. The fried rice was plain but was a necessary starch to mop up the flavorful sauces from the beef rendang. The only thing I liked was the Hainanese chicken.Overall, the food at Penang didn't quite live up to their reputation, but it might just be that we ordered the wrong dishes. I will probably be back to try more Malay dishes and will likely stay away from any beef dishes if possible.
M D: Generous portions of good and unique food for reasonable prices. They have a nice aesthetic, and extremely fast service. Also impressed by how nice the bathroom wasFood: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More

Ed Merced: The flavor of the food was special and delicious. However had some problems would like to point out:1-The beef curry had very little beef.2-The fried noodle also had little to no meat/seafood or ingredients3-The price is a little expensive for what they offer4-The Malaysian coffee had nothing special about it.5-The waitress was very pushy, came to our table 3 times in less than 5 minutes for us to order.
J. #: Good food. Busy place, nice atmosphere. I loved the roti curry appetizer plates. The fried rice was delicious... the green beans was my favorite dish, sautéed with crispy pieces of garlic. The beef curry, meat was very dry and not tender, sauce was decent. I really enjoyed our shrimp thom yum. They are known for their Hainese chicken... which I thought was ok.. but the shipping sauce was house made sauce and delicious.
Y. K. Tu: Having tried Malaysian foods in LA, New York, Flushing, Washington, Toronto, this one ranks the lowest. Sorry to say but I won’t be back.

Kate Markiewicz: Food was flavorful and service was very attentive. Staff was happy to make recommendations and accommodate our preferences to add extra spice. Highly recommend the ABC for dessert - it was enough to split between 3 people.
Vihar Nar: Food: 5/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 3/5More
wendy chin: The homemade roti, hainese chicken, watercress and dry pearl noodles dishes are my staple items at Penang (here and the Boston one) and are the ones I'm always craving. The curry that comes with the roti is a little too watery for me. I like it slightly thicker so you can pick up more sauce with the pancake. The water cress is always on point. The hainese chicken was a little overcooked today, but the flavors made up for that.We came on a Monday night and there was plenty of street parking in front. The restaurant was not packed so we didn't feel rushed eating.
Zhiying Xu: Authentic Malaysian food!
Wayne Hui: One of our go-to restaurants for eating in and taking out when we get lazy to cook dinner. This location is run by Mr.Choi, Son of the Boston Chinatown location. They know most of their guests by name and have always treated us like Family. Food mirrors the Chinatown location and are locale authentic delicious, that is Penang island, Malaysia. We love them and are lucky to have them open up in Moody St, Waltham!

Cecelia Sherwin: The food was pretty bland from a lack of sauce or seasonings, but sold at a decent price point. We got our orders very quickly (~8min) and our server was attentive and well mannered. Nothing particularly outstanding, in a good and bad way. Not a fan of the plastic cups and dishes that were used.Food: 3/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 4/5 …More
