Guineafowl Adventure Company: what do users think?
Avigail Gilad: I took a trip with Guineafowl adventures, co-sponsored by Fjalraven and it was spectacular! David and his staff where extremely professional, provided our group with all the necessary equipment and led us confidently through the White Mountains. What's more, they instilled confidence in the group in their own abilities. It was a pleasure and made the trek extremely accessible and enjoyable! Would highly recommend.
Helen Bassett: Such an incredible experience this past weekend with Guineafowl Adventures climbing Mt. Kearsarge! Late winter/early spring weather being so variable can be an obstacle, but with Dave and Serra planning and leading the trip I knew it would be a safe and exciting adventure. They pour their extensive experience and training and passion into these trips. With all necessary gear provided including backpacks, spikes, poles, gaitors, even water and snacks; as well as clean and comfortable transportation, optimal trail routes, all provided, it’s without question the way to go. Dave is awesome about answering questions and communicating trip info, you know he really cares that you have an amazing experience hiking in the mountains. I highly recommend you give yourself the gift of adventuring with Guineafowl!!! Come with friends or family, or sign up individually and perhaps make new friends, you’ll be glad you did!!!
Gordon Parris: We took a group of English Language students up to Welch and Dickey with Dave. It was one of the best hiking experiences I've had in the Whites!! Dave is the best kind of tour guide you could ask for: he picks you up from whatever location you prefer, his van is awesome -- one of those big Mercedes things -- and the gear he gives out is great! Those Deuter daypack bags, crammed with snacks and treats. He is a friendly, personable guy, with in-depth knowledge of both hiking in general, and the White Mountains in particular. Even though I'm an avid hiker there, myself, I learned a good deal of things from him!A great experience -- one I recommend to anyone of any hiking ability. We'll definitely be taking another group of students in the near future!
Khalid 5wild: It was one of my favourite moment in my life, everything Dave brings it, water, snacks, bag, hiking tools, and my experience was fantastic, i can’t wait to take another tour with them, well done Dave.
Nora Colliton: I love winter hiking, but it's not for the faint of heart. The 10 Hiking Essentials lead to such a heavy pack that going on an actual hike becomes daunting.Guineafowl Adventure was my answer! Guide, check. (Don't have to worry about getting off the hill!) Gear and safety considerations, check. This was a deciding factor for me. Dave had everything. Microspikes, poles, and snowshoes, if we needed them. Dave also gave me food, which also causes confusion as to what to bring. Dave had it all!All I did, show up at the meeting point. And walk, and walk, and walk. Dave even gave tips on breathing, where to step, and general hiking guidelines. And Mt. Kearsarge, beautiful on this warm February, blue sky day!Guineafowl is super helpful for women who want to be active, don't have a partner willing to go, and want to hike to new places. I cannot wait to book my next hike. Come join me. You can't go wrong with Guineafowl.
Jack Filmer: Recently I got the chance to go on a winter trek with this company, and can easily say it was one of the most well organized and enjoyable hikes I've ever been on. I'd recommend their service for anyone of all ages who wants to get out of the city and spend more time in nature. David, the founder of the company and our personal guide on the hike was professional and a great spirit. He taught us lots of cool tidbits of knowledge about the area we were hiking in, tips about the equipment he provided us (like snow shoes since there was over a foot of fresh powder), and made sure everyone in in the group knew and felt like safety was of top priority. Great team of professionals behind this business that make every moment a joy. I'll definitely be using them again in the future!
Austen Hemlepp: Just had the most amazing experience on a first time winter hike led by Dave and Serra where we were able to summit Mount Crawford in the snow! The entire experience was pieced together seamlessly from start to finish. Guineafowl picked our group up in Boston and drove us out to Mount Crawford comfortably, where they had our gear packs ready to go including snow shoes already sized for us, water bladders, and even some very tasty snacks! The hike up to the summit was beautiful. Extra kudos to Dave and Serra for reminding us to hydrate and eat our snacks along the way. Hiking down a mountain in snowshoes in the snow is an experience that was so fun and definitely the highlight of the trip for me! After making it back down, Dave and Serra drove us back to Boston and I was back home by 8pm. Amazing day, thank you Guineafowl!
gadagoni samhitha: I had wonderful experience. They are really punctial and very very co operative. Dave and sierra - our guides and owners are really amazing. Gear, snacks, transit and the knowledge they have on these treks was amazing. We hiked Mt.crawford - winter trek and were back just in time before the storm hit again. It was altogether a wonderful experience . Its really surprising to see how friendly trek experince I had!
Forrest Barker: Great hiking on Mt. Crawford! Well organized and so fun!
Sarah Voytek: Tried ice climbing for the first time with Dave, and it was an amazing experienceI He was welcoming of my experience level (none), and answered all of my Qs ahead of time to set up for success including how to dress appropriately for the conditions. The group was set up with excellent gear, took on 3 different climbs during the day, and had time for a coffee stop (yes!) before heading back. The guides were great in supporting the group of newbies and addressing individual needs. Gear, snacks, van and transit all exceeded my expectations. So happy to have discovered Guineafowl :)
Jenny Marlowe: Had a fantastic day as a newbie ice climber with Guineafowl! Dave made the trip easy and seamless, highly recommend!
Daniel Bronson: Great experience - just perfect.
Karen Marmon: I was feeling sort of blah about my daily routine and looking for a mini-adventure of sorts for my next day off. I found Guineafowl while searching online for a hiking daytrip that included transportation. I did the Mt. Carrigain hike with Dave, who is like a trail evangelist with his contagious enthusiasm for the White Mountains. The hike was excellent, the views were impressive, and I felt well taken care of all day.
Deemah Babaa: I truly enjoy the hiking experience with Dave! I am sure I will join him for another hike soon! I joined Dave for the Mt. Willard hike, which was a spectacular hike! I moved to Boston recently and I was looking forward to hiking in the fall to see the fall foliage in New England, but I have multiple challenges such as the transportation and I was not familiar with the location of the hikes and what to expect! Joining Guineafowl made it easier for me as all these challenges were managed and I was able to enjoy the hike without worrying about anything else! What I appreciate the most were the emails and the phone call Dave had with me before the hike to answer my questions regarding weather, clothes, and footwear issues. He also provided the hikers with a backpack, water, and snakes.I am so glad I have this experience and I am sure I will join him for more hikes!
Khadija Alem: It was spectacular from start to finish. Super organized and friendly, with amazing views too. So convenient for a day trip and highly recommended!
Isabel Rodriguez: I did the Mt. Pierce hike with the tour guide Dave. It was an amazing experience from start to finish. I really appreciated that he coordinated a call with all the clients of the tour to answer questions and concerns days before the hike and coordinate the pick up . He sends an email with the weather forecast the day before the hike to dress appropriately for the weather. The transportation it was on time, the gear provided of great quality and the snacks delicious. The hike it was beautiful, loved the landscape and having the opportunity to enjoy this place in the fall, with all the leaves changing color. Dave was an extraordinary guide, very friendly and you can tell that he loves his job. I really recommend booking one of this tours if you want to hike in the white mountains with all the safety measures and without worrying about driving.I will definitely book another hike!
Tina Liu: I hiked Mt. Crawford with Dave and even though I was the only one who signed up, it was an absolute blast of a day and I only wish I'd found Guineafowl earlier. I love to hike but don't have a car and Dave took all the stress out of hiking so I could really just enjoy the hike itself from checking the weather, to picking me up and he even offers a pack, poles, and snacks for those who need it. While we were on our hike we actually stumbled across two seasoned older hikers who'd gotten lost on the trail and Dave was able to rescue them! If you want to hike the Whites, do it through Guineafowl!
YIFEI YU: Very engaging hiking experience!
Euishin Jung: I had a great time hiking Mt Lafayette.I’m so glad that I went hiking with Guineafowl tour company. I probably wouldn’t have completed the hiking without Dave.Go with Dave if it’s your first time hiking in White Mountain.Highly highly recommend Guineafowl tour company !!!
Hope Wohl: Hiking with Dave in the White Mountains was truly spectacular! With Dave expertly handling all the details - checking weather, choosing an appropriate hike, bringing the right equipment & hydration, navigating the trails and providing tips & techniques for some of the more difficult terrain - I was able to just focus on being totally present to the hiking and the extraordinary beauty of the trails and vistas. Hiking with Dave & Guineafowl took all the stress out of hiking and allowed me to fully enjoy the magic of Welch-Dickey one week and Mt. Crawford the next week. Dave's passion for the White Mountains and for helping people find joy in hiking combined with his deep knowledge of the trails and of hiking makes him the perfect guide! I am already looking forward to getting back into the Whites next year with Guineafowl when I return to NH for my summer vacation! Hope
Mark Morrison: Great experience!! Hiked Welch Dickey and the experience from pick-up to equipment, hiking pace was great - very enjoyable and would highly recommend

Sourced Adventures Boston: what do users think?
Ashley Kosowicz: Went tubing then to a Brewery for a friends birthday a while ago and it was so organized and so much fun!!
Ash Vic: Had a blast! Nice little tubing adventure for folks [us] who hadn't played in the snow since childhood. The Brewery was cool too. I just wish they had other options like cider for non-beer drinkers. Jamie was cool too! Definitely recommend and will look for other outings with Sourced. - Mrs. Osinubi (Roxbury, USA)
Brian McMahon: Went on a snow tubing trip with these guys a few years ago. It was super fun. Really nice people and went to Wormtown Brewery afterwards.
Nancy Moses: Awesome experience! would definitely recommend and will be planning a girls trip!
Serena Gilchrist: My friend and I had done this adventure for the first time and had a blast! It was great to snow-tube and then have a meal and beers afterwards at one of the local breweries. The tour guides were great and it was nice to meet other people at the same time. I would definitely recommend this to other people!
Akshaya saraf: This place is amazing! It's so much fun and extremely safe. They take of everything. I highly recommend this place for a date or family activity or a friend get together.
Derick Depina: This event is not worth your time or your money. You are better off finding a mountain that offers tubing and driving yourself. First the buses were 30 minutes late for pick up and then they only had one bus which didn't hold enough seats for the amount of people who signed up to go. The second bus took another 45 minutes to arrive, got in a fender bender upon arrival (before we loaded onto the bus). The guide shortened the tubing portion of the event when it was requested we shorten the bar portion (they had to make their $). The food offered was not good we ended up just ordering food from the actual bar. When I asked how they would rectify the situation because nothing went as advertised I was offered 25% off my next excursion but there won't be a next. You pay $100 for some tubing and a bus ride no drinks included. Just drive up with friends and save yourself the hassle.
Andi Sarkisian: This trip was so much fun! Would definitely do again.
Blake Simons: Went on a snow tubing and brewery trip a few years back with a friend from Texas. It was so much fun!!! Would definitely recommend!!
Erin Bressler: My husband and I used Sourced Adventures in Boston to take an awesome trip snow-tubing, followed by dinner and a great local craft brewery with friends. It was easy, affordable, and a great way to spend a Saturday! I highly recommend using this company for escapes from the city life whenever you want some good old fashioned fun.
Nicholas F: Had a great time. It was easy for us to just show up and enjoy the day!
Michelle Piscottano: Awesome time! The host was great very friendly and accommodating. Tubing was fun and at the brewery we played fuss ball with others that were there. I definitely would do it again although it was a trip for us as we live in Connecticut.
She-Ra Power: So much fun. Me and my girl are going again this Saturday. They weren't messing around with good times and hearty dinner. Our food was from "Rail Trail". We loved it so much, we drove up to eat there from RI.
Jenna Adams: Super fun night of tubing, brews and great food with friends! And the best part is- you don’t even have to drive!
Loucie St. Germain: I did the snow tubing trip with Sourced Adventures! It was pretty awesome and I had a blast. Everything was well organized. They picked us up on time (I had the Newbury street pickup) and kept everything lighthearted and fun. I would 100% recommend! 😊
Mitsuhiro Nishihara: This tour was very fun and I enjoyed the snow tubing and local beer. The tour guide always took care for us. I appreciate her hospitality.
syed jafer Hussain: one of the best experience around Boston for snow tubing. the whole day was loads of fun with Pizza and Brewing trip. everything was worth it.
Elena Nugent: I loved it! It is so much fun! We got so lucky with the weather. and brewery itself was amazing with games, yummy beer a lot of fun people and good food!
Tara Sprawka: Awesome time with this group! From a girl from FL, the snow tubing was so much fun! & the brewery was even better.. Friendly, fun people and great beer!
Celia Shen: Terrible and unprofessional services with rude guides to customers. If you want a joyful time for the holiday, don’t go for them.

REI: what do users think?
Gabriella Zoia: DO NOT GET YOUR SKIS TUNED HERE. Did a horrible job and left deep gashes after hand scraping them. Take your business elsewhere. When I came back to report it I was told that I was essentially making it up and that the other shop that checked them out was just trying to sell us a new pair of skis. We were given 100 gift card at REI… small consolation when they’ve ruined a 1200 pair of skis. I’ve never been treated so poorly by retail staff.
Kira Clingen: This place needs more staff and better training, especially in their bike department. Came in with a flat tire - they replaced it, it went flat the next day. Went back, they replaced it again, it went flat. Took it to another bike shop - there was a massive shard of glass in the rim that they didn’t find either time. Out $30 and multiple hours.
Elisabeth Graham: The staff at REI Cambridge is so helpful and kind. I ordered the wrong shoes and they assisted with an easy exchange, communicating what they had in stock and what they didn’t. I’m so grateful to have this neighborhood store close by.
Steven Zelek: Service is good, but please be aware that this store mostly stocks: clothing, bike gear, climbing gear, and a small selection of accessories. It's a small store - so just have the right expectation.
Samantha Kanach: Love this REI! The people who work are so wonderful. I had to bring my bike in for maintenance and Nicoletta was so attentive and friendly and got my bike in tip top shape in no time. This REI is right next to some great local coffee shops and breweries so you really can’t go wrong here
Nancy Ramsdell: Always top quality and helpful personnel.
ambassador smudge: nice place to get some gear.Since 1938, we have been your local outdoor co-op, working to help you experience the transformational power of nature. We bring you top-quality gear and apparel, expert advice, rental equipment, inspiring stories of life outside and outdoor experiences to enjoy alone or share with your friends and family. And because we have no shareholders, with every purchase you make with REI, you are choosing to steward the outdoors, support sustainable business and help the fight for life outside.
Sam Berry: Had a great experience buying climbing shoes and a harness here. Not a huge location so might not have the selection of some larger stores but everyone was super friendly and it had what I was looking for
Lisa: Small store but very pretty inside, like a boutique. But they signed me up for a membership without asking! They were not super knowledgeable.
Emily Heckel: This is a (beautifully designed) T-shirt and water bottle store. I wouldn't really call it an REI. Came in looking for liner gloves and trekking pole baskets and they don't stock either. In fact, they barely stock any gear at all, and this is on purpose. They do have a few cycling items I think, and a comically tiny climbing section that I have to assume is only there for aesthetic purposes. The target demographic seems to exclusively be cyclists and people who wear overpriced Patagonia to brunch. The staff were super nice and they were knowledgeable about the items I was looking for (just didn't have them). They seemed quite used to responding to customers' confusion about the store. I think they should rename the store, or make it more clear online that this isn't a true REI as most of us know it. Overall, it felt a bit like being in a gallery - they display (limited) gear in an attractive way, but they intentionally don't stock it. Seems very focused on the aesthetic over the practical, which clashes with the brand concept. I can't think of a reason why someone would go to this store on purpose. I ended up driving to Reading and finding everything I needed, and I guess I'll be doing that moving forward. It's unfortunate, I live in Cambridge and I would shop here all the time if it was a real store and not a display window.
Mike Alexandersen: Google shows this as "camping store", but when i went in there, they said "this location doesn't have a camping department; were actually the smallest store in the coop." Sigh, pointless.
Amit Bergman: Nice and knowledgeable employees
Jeffrey Alperovich: This is not your typical REI! It’s a solid REI shop and had some great sale items, but the selection of everything is limited just due to the nature of the store size/location. Still recommend REI to all just set expectations accordingly! Staff were friendly and helpful as always
Christian Torres: Excelente servicio. La atención fue bastante buena. La chica que me atendió, me dio una buena asesoría. Lo recomiendo mucho.
Carrie Cole: Fantastic store! Beautiful, big, nice layout, very friendly and helpful staff. That area is really changing and that's a great addition.
Edson Lacerda (Ed): Customer service at this store in Cambridge MA,is TERRIBLE, I waited forever for someone, figured out on my own, went fitting 2 climbing helmets, then finally a guy came asking “did you take the tag out” harshly almost accusing me of doing it so, and just left. So did I 😞Very first time I’ve been treated so bad at REI store, this is the first and last time I come to this one!Meanwhile Framingham, which is my actual main store is AWESOME,It’s totally the opposite, doesn’t even look like it’s the same chain ☹️
Diot Sébastien: The store was good and the staff was helpful. However this store does not stock most of REI's merchandise and it's painfull to search on the website if they have my size for each shoes.I wanted to buy a very common pair of climbing shoes but I have to try differents size, they don't have any stock in 150 miles around ... My only way to go through is to order each shoes that I want to try : 199$ each ! (which is already very expansive).Big no for me.
Petal Niles: Had trouble with a gift card and staff was incredibly kind and patient in finding a solution! They also offered good advice on winter coats and had a small but nice selection of items on the floor
Swabarna Mukherjee: Customer Service. Love them. Went there to exchange an Arcteryx Shell which I bought last year but it was one size bigger than I wanted and have been thinking of getting one size smaller.Procrastinating for months, yeah I know, I finally made the trip only to find out it was just 3 days that 1 year passed. Damn I was sad however the manager honored it. They are excellent. Walked me through the steps and did whatever neededand they helped me put in an order. The site is new and parking is tough however the area is undergoing construction. Hoping to seethe area complete with all the construction done. Newer location nearer to my place and well they have a lifelong customer thanks to their excellent service.
Nicholas Manning: Does NOT stock camping gear, which REI is known for.
Richard Salmonsen: Really great staff! If they do not have what you need in stock they very nicely order it for you
