The Garage: what do users think?
Trevor: No atmosphere, no outlets, and a "your last purchase was 30 minutes ago, no loitering, go away" security guy some days.
Tom Thornton: Some vacancies and escalator repair
Chris Oakley: Come for the merch, stay for the nostalgia.
Conor Cara: I'm tearing it a 1 because they're in process of moving all the businesses out, closing it and knocking it down. I think it's a building with character and some iconic Harvard Sq businesses but over the years has just been neglected more and more, probably just so it could be sold. I'm sure it'll become some chain or luxury condos. Sad.
Jingle Huang: Needs better signage for bathrooms.
Raye Panda: Far from the cultural icon of Harvard Square that it used to be. It's being torn down soon, most of the storefronts are empty. The Newbury Comics is holding strong though! Had to visit one last time before the place is gone, but it's hard to see it so desolate in there.
Seth M: What is The Garage now other than a melancholy nostalgia trip down memory lane? We're all thinking about what it once was, a lively and somewhat quirky shopping center with various great eateries. For many in the Greater Boston area, this was THE place to hang out in high school, but over time and trends that fell out of fashion. Retailers stopped thriving as marketplaces moved online. Crazy Dough's closed and was never replaced. The half-finished remodeling after they left sat untouched for years as if stuck in a moment of time that will never exist again.I don't remember when Ben & Jerry's came to The Garage, but I seem to recall a time before it was there. A now empty space sits where it once was, with all the branding in tact and a brand new Ben & Jerry's across the street.... A sign of things to come. The Starbucks closed and became a great Vietnamese takeout instead, so not all things were lost for the worst, but soon The Garage will close for good and some will remember it as the parking garage turned into a thriving mall for 30 years, and some will only remember the 10 years of decline it had. In time, it too will be long lost to people's memories.
NAGA RAJAN: Good
Bill the Handyman: Extremely unique set up, comprised of many different vendors, so you can't really rate the place on its own, but for what it is it's great.
R S s: Oh how u miss how this place was. By that I mean shops and eateries. I've been coming here since before high school, and the appearance is still great and not much has changed with that. Newbury comics is still a huge staple here, that's a plus. There was the coolest store, I can't even remember, but it was on the way up the ramp. And I miss Upper crust pizza, some of the best slices. I guess Ben and Jerry's moved across the street. There was also a Taco place that I don't miss. It was quiet, and there's still a good crowd. I could still sit here and dream about the real world. Garage is that kind of place.
Abdul Halim Ekram: Great selection of eateries.Halal/vegan/asian option food also available.
Jack Friedman: Sad...
Alok Dahal: Victim of homeless people crowd. If you dont want smelly people, people on drug, beggers around your eating table, don't go here.
Obed Diaz: Very unique
Rayhua Wu: It's a neat little mall. It used to be a parking garage, which is why its insides have such an interesting plan. The escalator is almost amusingly placed given the garage context.
Fred: If these walls could talk. This place was home of the flagship Coffee Connection. Remember the smell of the fresh-roasted coffee beans in their barrels in the bean section? Or, the massive muffins, and lemon-frosted scones? The Someday Cafe also had those scones. So did Biscuit. After Starbucks bought The CC they kept the local pastries for a while, but every few years the Starbucks pastries (probably everywhere) got successively drier and artificial seeming. Le’s is great. Remember the Souper Salad? What was the name of the pizza place in the loft? Pizzeria Aventura? They had a cart in Harvard Square Station. Huge, thin, perfect slices of cheese, or pepperoni. Roll them into a tube and go. There was this open noodle restaurant where the path met and they would grill the ingredients in front of you. They had this red sauce- not sriracha- that was out of this world. And, Formaggio’s MASSIVE sandwiches.
Irish Pubs: Place is very tranquil has busy time's though I prefer a nice taco and can of coke brousing the stores I'd like to shop in
Ace McDaniels: Nice mini mall with lots of great restaurants and shops in Harvard Square!!
Dan: It's a great place to go shopping, the two major complaints that I have is no bathrooms and the anime store is no longer there (I know the comic book store is I'm talking about the other one).
D Petelle: Many stores have gone out of business. All that is left is Newbury comics on 2nd floor.
Christina “Tina”: The last stand in Harvard SqRIP The Pit

Now you're lucky if you can even get from the Concord Ave entrance to Trader Joe's. It's by far the closest Trader Joe's to me but you can't pay me to go in a one car "lane" with 2 way driving
Esat Gok: Great
Camille Both: Great prices!
Juanito Ardon: Berdad estuvo muy bien
H Marp: Clean inviting and easy to get from one store to the other except the parking lot is a little bit scary when it is busy

Porter Square Shopping Center: what do users think?
paula gaete: Lousy parking lot. Love Michaels craft store.
Mike Powers: Love Michael's and Tags Hardware
Christian Alicea: Muy bueno buen presio buen servisio
Kim Jansen: Simpel winkelcentrum met supermarkt en handwerkwinkel. Denk voor locals, niet als toerist.
Jessica: Great place
Richard Cadet: Great shopping
Sawyer Klebs: I live literally next to the place and don’t own a car so the parking isn’t an issue, but the parking lot sure is. This is a horribly designed place where the backs of the buildings are painted to look like traditional sidewalk storefronts which is rather telling about what is actually a pleasing place, I.e not this place. It’s just a strip mall plopped into the middle of Somerville, honestly a horrible place to be. Pedestrianize the open air aspect of it and shove the parking off to one side. It would be more pleasing to all of the parking lot were not the central part of the “open air” experience. Honestly depressing
Dan M: Great city shopping center. Although the parking lot always looks full I’m always able to find a spot. They have a 24 hr super market too which is clutch. The liquor store is pretty good with tastings. Cambridge Naturals is probably the best feature. The CVS is big, there’s a childrens toy store and the workers are always helpful. The dunks is a bit depressing and never used the dental spot. The michaels is just OK too but it’s big. Last time I shopped there though the frames I bought were broken after I took them out of the packaging and it’s been a real pain to get a refund since they charged me again when I tried to return it but I digress.
Gilberto Silva: #Sensacional adorei de paixão gosta de lógica acerta essa: Porter Square Shopping Center!!

Gustavo Martins: Very good
nancy shea: Very tight parking, not work the aggravation
Tayo spoonzess: MICHAEL IS THE BEST!!!
Virginia Todd: Lots of variety of shopping and conveniences Especially love the Porter Square bookstore 📚 that also has a Cafe inside. ☕️
Snow Ultra: Nice little selection of shops, my mother and I usually stop by Cambridge Naturals and Tags when I visit. Porter Sq books also has a great selection.
Peter Kadden: Great little shopping mall with a nice variety of shops. Large grocery store in Star Market, convenient CVS and Target for almost anything else you'd need, plus a wonderful liquor store and book store. Heck, the Michaels even has some model kits.
Anthony Davis: Good craft score.
Doreen M: So nice around there! Other surroundings around. Ben and Jerry's, right across the way. Free parking
H Marp: Not pedestrian friendly similar to most strip malls big box stores a plenty with a few sweet little shops peppered in
Ahmed Fazly: Parking can be tricky but planty of parking in the afternoon.
David Bernier: Ample parking other customers a little rude but staff semifriendly
