Panda Bilingual Daycare: what do users think?
Luke Osborne: Been here for coming up on 4 years now--it has been great!
Dan Congreve: We started at Panda when our first child was 4 months, and have loved every moment with them. They have become family- not daycare/school. The directors are knowledgeable, responsive to every one of our needs, and so kind. My daughter instantly bonded with the directors and teachers. During the day she did stimulating and age appropriate activities that continuously pushed her to learn more, while having a ton of fun! She went outside often (usually twice a day when weather allowed). I would HIGHLY recommend Panda to anyone in the area who is in need of childcare.Service:Educational services
Valeryia Ziablava: Our daughter joined Panda 3 months after its opening. No one in our family speaks or understands Mandarin, but we were very intrigued by the Montessori philosophy and the opportunity to learn Mandarin that Panda Bilingual Daycare offered to our 20-month old child. The daycare gave our daughter everything we could have dreamt of: teachers’ dedication, patience, help in building confidence and independence and, most importantly, safety. Our daughter has severe food allergies; the director and teachers were very open to accommodating our daughter’s needs. The teachers were so meticulous and mindful about making sure she was not exposed to any allergens. We truly felt comfortable at all times. Finally, 3.5 years after having dropped her off at Panda for the first time, our child has become fully fluent in Mandarin (for a five-year-old). It is amazing to hear her interacting with other kids and teachers in a language that she only speaks at the daycare. As one of the Mandarin native-speaking parents told us, “When I close my eyes and listen to your daughter speak Chinese, I would never tell that she is not a native speaker.” It is perfect evidence of Panda’s educational mission. It is an amazing place for little kids to be.We wholeheartedly recommend Panda Bilingual Daycare to any family as we truly consider it a golden standard in young child education.
Vishakha Dolhare: We enrolled our then 1.2 year old daughter at Panda after touring atleast 3 different daycares in that area and we couldn't have been happier with our decision. Clearly the standards at Panda are high - be it hygiene, the rich interactions between the teachers and students , the curriculum designed to encourage individual play as well as peer learning, the involvement of the staff and the attention to parents feedback by the management. My now 4.5 year old confident, happy and creative child blossomed in this daycare and all the kind teachers will forever be a part of her memories. I would recommend Panda to all my family and friends in a heartbeat! Thank you Panda for being an important part of shaping my daughter and preparing her for the real world.
Michelle Pai Howell: Our son started at Panda as a shy 2.5 year old and has been thriving at Panda. This is a great daycare with teachers that are caring and passionate about the children. The staff are consistent and the communication clear. Also the director, Marcy, is phenomenal. She is always talking to the kids and parents and often can be see holding some of the infants. We have especially loved the small community and the small number of children at the facility. It's not overwhelming to me or my son and I think it has helped reduce sickness throughout the year. Highly recommend Panda.
Chao Q: We have a 2.5yrs daughter in Panda Bilingual Daycare since this summer. We have been very satisfied so far. The site is brand new and the facilities are very nice. The teachers care deeply about the kids and constantly communicate with us about our daughter's every little bit of progress. Sijia, the founder, is very enthusiastic about her work. She works side-by-side with the teachers and always gives timely feedback to our questions and concerns. Our daughter has been very happy in Panda. Every day she would sing on her way home and tell us stories in the Daycare. She also loves role playing as her teacher, Ms Stefanie, and teaches us what she has learned at school. We speak Mandarin Chinese at home, and now she is picking up more and more English from daycare, which we are very pleased to see.

Little Star of Ours Daycare: what do users think?
maria jose peris segura: I have been waiting for 6 months on their waitlist, since they told me the average waiting time was 3-4 months, and I was OK with that. However, they did not even respond my last email requesting some information or update about new openings. Although they did not guarantee the space, I was decided to wait until a spot was available but at this point, I am so dissapointed and I do not understand the reason why in 6 months they have not given me a clue about if my baby would finally be admitted or not. It is really hard to believe they did not have new spaces in 6 months. If the reason is that the waitlist is extremely long, I should have been told this too, in order to have a Plan B. I am editing my review now to express that I am more than happy to see that it just took you a couple of hours to answer me through a public platform Thank you! Next time feel free to answer my emails.
Shannon Lohr: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Reliability,Responsiveness,ValueOur almost 3 year old son loved attending Little Star and we were very happy with the quality of care. This was our first time with a smaller family-run daycare and it was a great fit -- we'd highly recommend Jennie, Jes and Little Star.
Lily He: Our son started at Little Stars when he was about 3.5 months old. It was so stressful leaving him, but over time it was clear he really didn't mind us leaving! The teachers were incredibly communicative (wrote down his schedule on a whiteboard every day) and have never taken more than a day or two to answer a question we might have. Our little infant grew into a toddler and would come home having learned new things that were so fun for us to discover that he knew! The teachers really went above and beyond, taking him on field trips and doing arts and crafts and even sending him home with a holiday present. We would also have parent-teacher conferences to talk about anything related to his development or milestones we could start thinking about encouraging, and it's just helpful to talk to someone who's seen so many different kids instead of wondering if you're doing it all wrong as a first time parent. Bottom line; we never worried about his happiness when we dropped him off!I was hesitant to go to a home daycare, but you should do it! Jes is incredibly responsive via email/text/phone, and that mattered a lot to me as I was choosing a place. It felt like we were getting the organization and professionalism of a daycare center (especially during the uncertainty of covid -- I think Little Stars did much better than daycare centers, at least from what my friends tell me), but the benefits of a smaller community (ie, fewer germs and getting to know other families). I'm convinced that my kid learned as much from the other children (it's a mixed age group) as he did from the teachers. He is very gentle around babies (I'm sure he saw the teachers with the infants), and started moving around a lot pretty early on to try and keep up with the older kids!If not for covid and our health issues, we would have definitely stayed. We look forward to coming back to Little Stars soon!
Charles Mac Fadden: Great place! The child care workers here are amazing and incredibly attentive. Love it here.
Anahita Dastur: We love this family daycare. Our 2 year old has been going there for more than a year and we have had a great experience with Jessica and Jenny. Highly recommended!
Alexis Orellana: Our daughter has been at Little Star of Ours for over 2 years and we couldn't be happier. I love that here we find the warmth and individual attention of a home daycare with the structure and education of a center. My daughter is constantly surprising me with the things she's learned here. Her weeks are full of story time, songs, art projects and field trips.
Sarah Vaughan: Our infant has been at Little Star for 6 months now and it has been a great experience! The staff is caring and attentive and the space is clean and welcoming. We like that our infant gets to play with both infants and toddlers as part of their program. I would highly recommend Little Star to others!
Ramya Nagaraja: Update: my review below is for Alba's family day care that it was as of early 2013. I wish Alba, Celestine and their families are well.My son went to Alba's as a toddler, first ever daycare experience. He loved it. Alba and the other 2 caretakers really love kids. They are v responsible and take care of kids, their meals and snacks well. They prepare hot food just before lunch daily. They help kids inculcate good habits. Celestine's storytelling and singling are a hit with little ones. My son missed them on weekends:)I highly recommend this to my friends.
Whitney Miller: My child attends this daycare and its has been an amazing experience. Jessica and Jenny are both nurturing, accommodating and trustworthy. They both have a true passion for child development and are knowledgeable . Daily picture email updates and open communications is has been very reassuring. Putting your child in daycare for a lot of moms and dads can stir up guilt, fear etc when you have to work, but I trust the wellbeing of my child the moment I walk out the door.

Rock and Roll Daycare East Cambridge: what do users think?
Joseph Smith: I do not recommend. This company feels like a "company." They hire young teachers instead of experienced ones. Turnover is pretty high, and it's clear that some of the teachers treat this just as a job for the paycheck, as opposed to a career that they have genuine interest in.We were not there long before we took our child to another nearby daycare that was much better.
Jackie Hayes: I had two children at RRDC between 2017 and 2022 at two different centers. It was a mixed experienced. Some teachers were amazing and felt like family. Some were not. My bad review is based on program administration. We prepaided multiple months of tuition and did not end up using all the time. RRDC has admitted they owe us the money back, but won't refund it. It is surreal. I would never do business with them again. There are other options with honest business people.
Chiara Vannucci: Teachers are great, hard-worker and incredibly dedicated to the care of our children. The recent administration has also greatly improved over the last year and it's making a lot of processes and communication much smoother. Our kids love JAMI RRDC and we recommend it to your children as well!
Ipek Olenchek: Our kid has been attending Rock and Roll East Cambridge since he was 7 months old and we love it! All the staff are incredibly sweet, caring and patient. The teachers are experienced and treat the kids like their own babies. The director is very sweet and always helpful in answering any questions we have. Everyone is truly the best. Our baby had a tough time adjusting, and they were all so wonderful in taking care of him and helping him get used to daycare, as well as calming our worries. They were (and continue to be) very responsive, understanding, and collaborative in taking care of him, and we are so grateful for them! Now that he's a bit older, our kid loves going to daycare and we're always delighted by all the fun activities he does during the day. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone!
Cody Madore: I cannot recommend Rock and Roll Daycare in East Cambridge enough. From Courtney in the corporate office to Nayra, Shelly, Cole leading the charge out at our school. They went above and beyond to help with the transition. The teachers have all been top notch from Pamela and Tracey when he started in Toddler A and then Shanika and Valencia in Toddler B. Every single teacher and assistant have just been so welcoming and helpful with everything and would recommend this school to any new parent looking hand down. From the various activities they plan for them daily, or the music sessions, to field trips, they just make the day so fun and interesting for the kids. If we weren't moving we would never leave!
Borja Sanchez Limon: Our 17 month old son goes to this RRDC location and he is very happy. All the staff is doing a great work creating a Safe Space during this complicated pandemic time.
Julianna H ꨄ: I personally would never send my child to a place with such a director running the show.
Angel Stewart: I am so impressed with this particular location because of there caring nature and how they engaged with the children on the playground.I as a mother and bystander at the park with my children was amazed at their priorities for security at the park and crossing the streets to keep visual attention to all children. This was sincere it was no cameras recording the teachers were speaking so kind and actually enjoying their Job.Incredible that’s all l can say!
chris dzengelewski: An incredible music program ran by the very best early ed. music educators in Massachusetts!
Heather Jonkin: My child attended here and absolutely loved it. The music program is great, and my child would honestly sing a new song everyday on our way home. The events were also wonderful for parents, I only wish I could have attended more of them!

Sunrise Learning Academy: what do users think?
Niharika Singh: My son attended this daycare for a year from about 6 to 18 months (we moved away), and we have really enjoyed our time here. He never cries at drop off and he is always smiling and playing in the pictures they send us. (They even got him to smile during tummy time, which he never did for us at home.) The people who work here are really kind (shoutout to Miss Mara, Brittany, Jennifer, and Maria). They teach him skills like walking and he has started bringing home new words he learned at daycare. In the infant room, he would make little handprint/footprint cards for occasions like mother's day, father's day, and valentine's day, which was adorable. The toddler room has great activities like dress up, soap bubbles, and finger painting. As a first-time mom, I had no idea what to expect from a daycare, especially when I couldn't go inside because of Covid, but this has been wonderful.
Anne-Fleur Andrle: We left 2 years ago in a hurry when we realized the teachers had been lying to us about our son and were making up stories instead of accepting any responsibility.A few examples of what we learned:- They would let him cry for hours until he threw up. Every single day.- We would share information at the door every morning and the people getting the kids would tell us every day they’d convey it to teachers. When realizing they were doing things orthogonal to these messages we asked why. Teachers started called us liars because no one ever told them anything and they knew we were wrong because everyone agreed we didn’t share any message. (Something silly about a lunch box)- They made all the kids call my son the “baby” and laugh because he couldn’t walk yet (he was the youngest).- I was summoned in the directors office because my 13 month-old didn’t walk and it wasn’t normal and was slowing down class. (It was/is normal! And in retrospect it is scary a childcare professional would think otherwise). After all this, I realize the first week should have been a red flag but I was a first time mom and didn’t really know what I could say or not. We had been told by the director we would do a slow start for a week to help our child adapt to group care. But with the teachers, we got literally kicked out after 30 minutes on day one.I tried to escalate to the director before making the decision to pull him out. She didn’t do anything as far as I can tell beside forwarding my email to the teachers. Then started the harassment by email and text from one of the teachers. The director never once helped. I still bite myself I didn’t see anything. My son has needed some therapy to trust caregivers again. He still screams when we park near the location, or in covered parking lot like the one of the subway next door.I do not recommend and deeply regret what I put my son through. This place is seriously dangerous for kids who cannot advocate for themselves.
SirCalvin Estridge: At 4 years old back in 2002, My experience at this place was great. This place had a graduation ceremony for all the kids moving up to kindergarten. All of the staff was involved with all of the kids. I use to hate leaving this place when it was time to go home. Based on the current reviews I wonder what happened to the management over the years. I hate to see this place go downhill.
Qianli Pan: I see a very negative review posted 5 years ago about this daycare, and I feel I also want to share my experience. My older son was in the pre-K class from 2019 to 2020, then his younger brother joined the infant classroom until his 1st birthday. We moved away from that area afterwards so don't know whether anything changed now. At least I was satisfied with all the teachers, especially the director, Brittany and Mara. Very helpful and my sons felt happy there.
Neva Durand: We had a very good experience at Sunrise Learning Academy. We actually followed our teachers there after they and we had a terrible experience at KinderCare in Davis. The director, Brittany, has been there for 3 years and is very competent and communicative, and most of the teachers have been there for a long time. The teachers are loving and caring. They have a big indoor space to play in the winter and they go outside as much as possible, on walks along the bike path and to a tiny little playground nearby. The cost is low compared with other daycares. I have heard from other parents that the owner is very difficult, which is why I don't give 5 stars.
Ivy Baez: My daughter has been going to Sunrise since she was three months old. She has been greeted and taken care of with nothing but love. She always is so excited to greet her teachers. As a new mom, I don't always know when it's appropriate to transition my daughter to new foods, etc. and they are always super helpful. I shopped around the area and Sunrise stood out from the others due to its size and ratio. Others in the area don't have much room for the children to actually play and explore. Sunrise is surprisingly large rooms, even for infants, and the teacher to child ratio is great. These teachers genuinely care for the children. I do believe that the owner isn't great, he seems very money driven rather then investing in the business of children. The newest director is really great and she tries to create an environment of engagement and enjoyment for the teachers and children. I've been really satisfied with the care. You may not get all the bells and whistles of daily pictures created, but your child will certainly be taken well care of.
K H: Here is why you don't want your children here:1- Teachers don't really care. I would highly advise you to go in the middle of the day to inspect this place. You'll find the teachers chatting with each other, talking or doing anything else but watching or spending a quality time with your children.2- Managment doesn't care. Honestly it is the worst managment I've ever seen. They don't care about your child. I have talked to the directors several times about how teachers should be spending more quality time with all children but one response from a director was "Talk to the teacher" well I think to talked to the reacher several times before I reach out to you!!3- Very hostile owner, rude and incompetent. I don't think a person like that should be in a business talking care of children. We emailed back and forth several times about concerns and misunderstanding but Jeff was always rude, hostile and incompetent.4- They changed 3 Directors in less than a year. Pretty sure it's a management issue. Whether choosing the right person for the job or dierectors couldn't stand the owner's hostility and management style.5- Don't expect a high quality care in this center. Don't trust that they know what they are doing because they don't. They copy other centers' curriculums to just have something on paper but practicality wise very very poor.6- All the good teachers I lknew left this place already or planning to leave.Bottom line, learn from our experience and save yourselve and your children. This was a very painful and frustrating experience ever for me and my wife. I would never wish it on any parents.By the way, they refused to refund our deposite or honor what we paid intially toward the last 2 weeks. If letting them steal my money to save my children from this, it would be a very low price to pay.Stay away from this place!!
Stephanie Wednesday: I was just looking for their fax number and came across this comment, and just wanted to state that Sunrise Learning Academy has been a wonderful experience for myself and my now 3 year old daughter. My daughter has been attending Sunrise in Cambridge for a little over 2 years now (started at 13 months) and this daycare has surpassed all of our expectations. With in that 2 years i have changed jobs, and have continued going out of my way to bring her to this specific location because the way my daughter has flourished there. We both have established genuine friendships with parents and other student, we have great connections with ALL staff members, and not to mention the curriculum!! I am complimented on my daughters social skills and intellect ALL OF THE TIME, and i am constantly explaining to everyone that i cannot take all of the credit. I highly recommend this place. If i could give any negative feedback at all - i would say that throughout the 2 years the teacher turn over rate has been high and it was something i was taking into consideration when i was changing jobs- and the reason i give 4 stars instead of 5 - but with that said, ultimately the environment she is in, the connections she has with the old and new staff and her peers is wonderful and that is worth it to me. She is loved and well taken care of and that's all a mother can ask for!

Rock and Roll Daycare Central Square: what do users think?
clotilde furioli: We had a great experience at this center. Our daughter benefited from drop in care. Miss Jade was amazing: very caring with the children, great communication with the parents, class rooms were very clean and nicely equipped. We would recommend this center. Great team! Great management!
Jessica Osterhout: There are probably a lot of amazing caregivers at Rock and Roll and our issue stems mainly from one teacher in the infant room at the central square location but it's clear that the people on the top didn't really care about our baby or our complaints, which were:1. My son was left alone to cry for the majority of his time there. I know because they provide live camera access. Had I not had the camera I would have known something was wrong because even after two weeks he would cry when he saw me and would often have red eyes at pick up. After the first week I asked them to help him with this transition by checking in with him. They sat with him for one day then it was back to leaving him alone.2. A week and a half in, he came home with a burst blood vessel in his eye. I had been watching the cameras a lot at this point and he didn't have any toys, he was just sitting and crying all day. The teachers were sitting with the calm babies (all other babies in the room were older than him by at least a month or two). At this point I brought it up with the teacher at dropoff the next morning and was told that he had just "worked himself up", crying this much was normal, that he just wants to be held all day and that they were taking care of the other babies. So I thought maybe I was overreacting...3. During the 3rd week he started to develop a bad diaper rash. The worst I have ever seen on him. I treated it frequently at home and it kept getting worse. After 3 days I asked them if they noticed it and the teacher barely responded so I asked if she could please use the diaper cream directly on the rash at every diaper change (shouldn't this be obvious?). When they started treating it, it cleared up.4. The final straw was during the third week when he was again alone crying on the corner of the play mat while the teacher was sitting with two other babies and I saw her walk over, pick him up off the ground by one arm to bring him closer to her. She looked annoyed at HIM.When I gave a detailed complaint to the director she was kind and apologized but also made some excuses. She said leadership would reach out to me and they never did. I hope this is just a bad teacher at one location but I felt that my suggestions and eventual complaints were ignored so I couldn't trust them with my baby anymore.
Catherine Jonash: My daughter has been a student at Rock and Roll Daycare Central Square since she was three months old. She joined the infant class and immediately was welcomed by the warm and friendly teachers. She thrived during her first year of life, getting much love and attention from Kaitlyn, Ezzy, Marcela and others who helped to teach and care for her each day. They often take the children out for walks around the neighborhood, and introduce fun activities at a young age; my daughter was doing art projects at five months! She is now in the toddler classroom, with an equally engaged and attentive set of new teachers. RRDC has fostered my daughter's sociability and adaptability. She can nap through almost all noise and is happy to jump into playtime with any of the kids. We are very happy with the level of commitment of the administration and teachers to each child's well being. I couldn't recommend this place more highly!
Mary Carmona: I called and tour a month ago and they are just now emailing me about availability and what do you know... they're at capacity. Just disappointed at how long it took for a response about enrollment. The daycare itself wasn't at all diverse either which was another disappointment.
Phoebe Masallo: Rock and Roll Daycare program provides one of a kind experience for children. The music curriculum makes learning so much fun. Definitely a great place for kids!
James Toole: Montessori and Music are the two focal points of this center. My child had a great experience here. Teachers were caring and knowledgeable, and my son had a lot of fun coming to school each day. I really liked the music events, which happen pretty frequently. Meal program was a nice bonus as well.
Corinne T: I never got a chance to have my infant son stay at this daycare so I cannot comment on the quality of the place and the teachers. I was very interested in having my baby stay at this daycare due to its very convenient location (a 5 min walk from my apartment) and its music and Montessori-based programs. Unfortunately, I have been very disappointed by my interaction with their administrative staff and their lack of interest in my questions and concerns. My husband and I put down our names for their infant waiting list in September 2014, while I was just 2-month pregnant. As brand new parents, we didn’t know what we wanted and what we were looking for, but we knew that infant spots are sparse in Cambridge and that we couldn’t afford to be too picky. By the time my son turned 12 weeks old, I had to return to work and still didn’t get one of their infant spots. Fortunately, we had a plan B, which turned out to work great for us. Yet, we were still interested in Rock n Roll, so I emailed their assistant director, Jandra, to request a tour, just to ensure that it still met our needs in the event that we got a spot. While waiting to hear back from her, my husband and I decided to directly stop by the daycare to see if we could just request an appointment in person. We ran into the director, Nicole, who was very friendly. She told us that it wasn’t a good time at that moment to offer a tour because it was the busiest time of the day for them, but when she heard that my work hours were inflexible, she encouraged me to go ahead and schedule an off-hour tour and explain the situation to the assistant director. So I emailed Jandra, but never got a response, so I called her directly. She responded that they were too busy to offer off-hour tours but could still make an exception later when things quiet down a bit for them. That was back in June.Early September, I emailed her again and asked once again if they could make an exception to their tour days/hours. She responded a couple of days later in a sharp tone (and several typos in her email) that tours were only given in the morning hours. My next day off being a Friday at the end of the month, I replied and offered that day as an option. A few days later she responded that she couldn’t do tours that day either because she had "meetings all day". We never heard back from Rock and Roll since then.At this point, I have given up. I find it odd that a daycare would only offer tours on specific days and hours with no flexibility, even when scheduling several weeks in advance. I also wonder why only one person seems to do the tours? (perhaps only trained personnel is allowed to give tours?) Rock and Roll claims that it is a family-owned, hence friendly daycare, but so far, I was only given the impression of an unfriendly place with a corporate-feel that has so much business that it doesn’t care to make any efforts in accommodating wait-listed families.Again, I cannot comment on the quality of the care and I do hope for parents that it is a great place for their kids. But as far as I am concerned, I am not interested anymore. I guess that long waiting list was a blessing in disguise.
AT Natenshon: Our twins boys have loved rock n' roll since they started, they are always excited to go to school, and they come home singing and dancing. The teachers and staff are really wonderful and caring. Jenna and the crew in the toddler room is amazing and Chris and Nicole have been building a really cool school, that is great for kids. Also the catered food is wonderful and makes life so much easier. A great place, looking forward to pre-school with Amber.

Rock and Roll Daycare Broadway: what do users think?
sarah lay: They deleted my first review. Don't send your kids to this location. Some employees manhandle children and snap at them rudely.- Ex Employee (under an alias)
Jianguo Morris: Our LO attended the R&R boardway location in 2022. We sadly experienced a pattern of neglecting children and arguing with parents from the some of the teachers and the current director. The teacher in our toddler classroom often stands still and neglects when a kid wants to play, wants a hug, or cries. Parent's requests like sending a picture of the kid, putting on jacket while outside, and offering home brought snacks are often missed. We raised the concerns a few times, the teacher tends to argue that she does everything based on the 'policy', the director tends to explain the teacher's behavior and assures it will improve, but we saw the same pattern repeated for a few months. It was a toll for parents, we withdrawed LO for another childcare, another 2 faimilies in the same classroom also withdrawed 1-2 month ahead of us.
Jamila Harris: Wonderful staff. Excellent curriculum. Lots of personalized attention. My daughter has thrived under their care. I highly recommend it.
Phoebe Masallo: A nurturing community for kids. The combination of Montessori and music curriculum stimulates learning in a very fun way.
Pete Aykroyd: Great daycare.

Bright Horizons at Mass Ave.: what do users think?
Jarod Shultz: Only good things to say about this place.
Andrew Laubscher: All the teachers and staff seemed to really love and care about our child. Communication was great, both regular (daily updates, pictures) and whenever special circumstances arose. If Bright Horizons works for your schedule and budget we highly recommend the Mass Ave center.
Kristina Danahy: Our son went to Bright Horizons Mass Ave since he was six months old, going through Infants, Toddlers, Preschool, and finally Kindergarten Prep until he started public school. His sister attended from 3 months to 2.5 years old There is full- and part-time enrollment (based on # hours per day or days per week). We chose it because we can walk there from home, it has multiple age level programs, and it's within walking distance of my husband's job (which made commuting much easier and allowed us to remain a one-car family). I teach in Boston Public Schools, so the potential to go 7-6 was also a big draw for me (in case my husband travels, I could shift the hours we go to 7-4 rather than 8-5, or buy extra hours). The family daycares located near us (Somerville, North Cambridge) or my husband's work (Medford) would open much too late for me to make it to school on time in the morning, and many aren't walking distance from us. Another big plus--it rarely closes! Apart from the convenience for our family schedules, we felt that the quality of care and kindness of the staff have been phenomenal. I love the emphasis on play-based learning, socioemotional skills, and empathy. No fill-in-the-blank worksheets or drill-and-kill here! Like others, we have had teachers babysit, and both kids adore them. We were sad to leave, but only did so that we could have their pickups/dropoffs near each other. Both kids cherish their journals and love "reading" them. It is pricey, but it was worth it to us not to have to scramble for aftercare (for a shorter day) or backup care (with closures).
Josh Silverstein: My wife and I's infant son just enrolled at BH Mass Ave this past month (August 2020), and we could not be happier with the love, care and attention he has received from his two teachers, Jasmine and Madina. Even though Bright Horizons is a big publicly traded company, the atmosphere at this center is warm and personal, and anything but corporate.I was a little apprehensive about sending him to daycare in light of COVID, but the center's administrative team really put me at ease. They have displayed impressive knowledge of and compliance with the state's health rules and regulations. And, they have seamlessly implemented Bright Horizons' companywide rules, which I've come to learn are even more stringent in many cases.
Ankur Nagaraja: Our daughter started in the Toddler Room at Bright Horizons and continued through Kindergarten Prep. She had many caregivers over the years because of high turnover; however, most of her teachers appeared to be happy working there but eventually left to continue their education. Despite the turnover, most of her teachers were very caring and attentive to her individual needs and responsive to feedback. Although she was the only non-walker in the toddler classroom, her teachers were very accommodating. They even had the great recommendation that she wear Crocs instead of shoes because she had wide feet and the Crocs would give her better support. As she entered the Preschool and KPrep classrooms, she was typically happy at dropoff and many days at pickup it was difficult to pull her away from her friends and activities. Each classroom has a well-outlined curriculum to introduce kids to various concepts and aspects of the world around them, and to help them build their independence. The teachers also kept an individualized journal for her with anecdotes illustrating her developmental milestones, and this journal is now a treasured keepsake. As a side note, over the years several of her teachers babysat for us without incident. Finally, this Bright Horizons location is also extremely reliable in terms of remaining opening during inclement weather.
danny turken: I am not one to post reviews often, but there are not enough words to describe how much I love Bright Horizons at Mass. Ave. My little boy is in a toddler room, and I can say, without a doubt, starting him at BH Mass. Ave. was one of the best decisions we have ever made. It’s more of a pre-school than a daycare. Every week, they have a new theme. The kids do art projects, read books and sing songs according to that particular theme. They teach them to be independent and responsible little people. The rooms are beautiful and clean. And the staff is fantastic. Literally, every toddler teacher knows who my little one is and can tell me about him. They are kind, compassionate, responsible and knowledgeable. They love the kids they care for, and my child has developed and flourished because of them. The program is overseen my director, Laura and assistant director, Kaitlin. Laura and Kaitlin are patient and wonderful. God knows I have driven them crazy with questions, and they have always been super responsive and just the absolute best. As far as cost, BH is comparable to other centers in the area. But the difference is, the space is huge and they have an indoor play area, including a climbing wall when it’s cold and rainy outside. If they are enrolling, don’t walk but run because space will fill up immediately.
Linlin Ma: My kid loves to go to BH. Thanks to the lovely teachers in BH, she has such great time everyday!
John McFarland: Fantastic staff/teachers! Couldn't be happier!
Nicholas Judson: Young staff who are very responsive to questions and concerns, but it is a for-profit company, so incentives are not always aligned. (For example, you pay by the month, but teachers are paid hourly, so if there are no kids because everyone is taking vacation, the teachers don't get paid). Quite a bit of turnover in the staff, which is concerning.
Jeff Dishman: My wife and I enrolled our daughter at this Bright Horizons location almost 2 months ago. We are VERY happy with our experience there. Our daughter (in one of the infant classrooms) has really taken a liking to all the teachers that take care of her. It's clear that they all love the kids so much.I really appreciate how dedicated they are to all the activities they do with the kids. They read stories, go for walks, sing songs, explore different textures, make artwork, etc. It's much more than a daycare; it really is a school. I look forward to getting the email update every afternoon with pictures of what they did that day.We love all the infant teachers, but are particularly partial to Eileen who is so wonderful with our daughter. Soon after we joined, a new director started there named Daniela. She is fantastic and is a great asset to the center.
