Fitness Together: what do users think?
Alexa Augustine: I enjoy this place so much because of how friendly the trainers are. They are always willing to go the extra mile to show you how exactly to do the workout. When needing scheduling for the workouts, if needing to schedule a different day they are always flexible with everyone. It is such a great place to be a part of. Great atmosphere.
Sanjay Talluri: I really like the personal touch Fitness Together brings. Nate has steadily ramped up the intensity of our sessions to keep pushing me to improve. He also gave me some nutrition advice to help me lose a little weight for my wedding. Thanks!
Ranjana Khasnis: This place is fantastic. I started here as a way to stay fit through the winter months and 6 months later now, I feel stronger than I've ever felt before, far exceeding my own expectations. Crystal has always been very accommodating with schedules and I was very happy with trainers Kyle, Nate and Maurice. They are present, encouraging and very engaged throughout. Great way to let off some steam after long workdays and leave it to the trainers to guide you.
Areal Tal: I have been continuously impressed with the Fitness Together trainers I have been trained by. I have medical conditions that have made exercising on my own dangerous in the past (because I am prone to injury). While most trainers are good about being able to make some modifications, most trainers I have tried working with (prior to going to Fitness Together) have not been able to make the modifications needed for my body because my body is difficult to work with. However, the trainers I have worked with at Fitness Together (Crystal, Kyle, and Maurice) have all been extremely impressive in their abilities to work with me.I request all the details about how to do an exercise pristinely (i.e. posture, primary muscles worked, stabilizing muscles, where the movement is led from, etc.) because it's dangerous for me if I am not perfect. They are able to accommodate this request because they know exactly what they're doing. While training with them over the past 4 months (with some weeks focused on losing weight and some focused on building muscle), I have lost a significant amount of weight (20-30 lb) and built up a bunch of muscle.* Even after 4 months of working with them, I am still *rapidly* building muscle.* Full disclosure: I was working with a physical therapist throughout this time as well. I do anaerobic exercise 4-6 days each week and I do cardio 2-3 days each week.
Samantha Roy: The Fitness Together team is incredible! In the 6 months I've been training I've seen significant improvements in my strength and overall tone. The trainers are great, help to correct form, are encouraging and make sessions fun through conversation and ever changing workouts. Crystal is amazing - she's professional, flexible with scheduling and most importantly really makes an effort to give all customers the best experience possible!
Evan Ferber: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,QualityCrystal is great! Convenient location and nice separate spaces for working out
Carol Miranda: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality
Thomas Abt: Can't lie, #1 advantage is convenience - it's literally around the corner from my house. Also, like that Crystal is responsive and I can quickly reschedule when I have a conflict. The workouts are solid, well-conceived, nothing fancy, but good. Yes if you're a high-performance athlete there are bells and whistles probably being missed, but I'm not missing them myself. Finally, Crystal and Kyle are just nice people - that matters to me.
Jared Katz: Dan is a great trainer! Super friendly.
Elle Callahan: Fantastic management and team of trainers. A great value for the small group workouts. Highly recommend to anybody with a goal to improve their overall health and fitness.
Peter Lindquist: Great staff.
Scott Brookes: I went in for the free consultation and the trainers were helpful, knowledgeable, and did not pressure me to "make a sale." The facility is clean and modern. I would definitely recommend FT to someone looking for personal training.
Kelley Donovan & Dancers: Very bad experience, young men who only know how to help other young men, I injured my arm and years later it is still a problem, impacted my life very negatively
Pablo Barcena: Friendly and professional staff, nice atmosphere
Rich Bono: Highly recommend these health and fitness professionals to anyone getting back in to working out or looking to take their own fitness to the next level!
Carey Morewedge: Friendly, creative, and challenging trainers, normal clients, and a convenient schedule make this a great gym.
Nelson Rodriguez: Friendly, effective, and focused on helping you get better at managing your own fitness.
Claudia Robaina Winston: Great, mindful, responsible trainers. Good people! Flexibility of schedule fits every lifestyle.
Andrew Wylde: Dan is awesome.Incredibly perceptive, listens really well to potential concerns, and give the right amount of encouragement/feedback when necessary. Awesome experience all around :).
Braden LuBell: I am so, so glad I signed up for training with these guys. I called them on a whim because their Hampshire St location was close to my apartment, and Brian (who runs the place) is so reasonable, accessible, and sincere even over the phone that I decided it could hurt to go to the free introductory session. After a couple months there I can attest these guys are so kind, they really push you without ever embarrassing you, they definitely know what they're talking about (not just with cardio and strength training but also alignment, nutrition, and many other aspects of the body), and they meet you wherever you're starting in life....which sounds like a slogan but they do. They've each got a good sense of humor, and they're extremely thorough in creating an individualized plan for you. Signing up may not be cheap but there are a variety of options, and I needed to be accountable to someone or I wouldn't get the work done - and it turns out the work they do is worth every penny. PLUS you get to use the cardio equipment even when you're not training, so you're not JUST paying for the (awesome) sessions. They've been so aware of the health issues I've been dealing with and how to push me within my personal constraints, and even called to check in on me when they knew I was going through a rough time. I mean....c'mon, who's that lovely? Give them a try, you'll be very happy.
Sam: A great effort multiplier for your fitness goals. Trainers are skilled, workouts are challenging and inventive.

Catalyst Performance Training: what do users think?
Christian Larwood: I spent the last 6 months training at Catalyst with Danny and my experience has been completely transformative.I've never been much of a gym person, partially because I love being outdoors but also because I didn't really know what exercises to do and how to keep things fresh when working out in a gym.I knew that I wanted to work on several areas mainly around improving my mobility and overall strength, but also giving me the right mindset and tools to be able to effectively and confidently workout on my own for the rest of my life.I approached personal training at Catalyst as an investment in myself and to future proof my body. Faisal and Danny learned about my fitness goals and ensured that I was doing the right exercises/weight for my level and to match with my goals. At Catalyst you can attend weekly group training sessions where you receive constant feedback about form and technique. Danny also provided me with workouts I could do outside of my weekly sessions which provided me with tons of variety.I wake up excited to go to the gym in the morning and I love that I now have the tools to be able to effectively workout.
Mai Doan: The best personal training and group training you will find in Boston! All trainers are super knowledgeable and a pleasure to work with.
Adrienne Hopper: Absolutely loved my time at Catalyst and with Danny. I will say that I've never had a personal trainer and was skeptical going in but I am now a believer. :) The gym was convenient to where I lived and they are more than accommodating with hours, schedules, and life changes - as they creep up on you. The gym is fantastic - clean and organized. Workouts change on a monthly basis. There are a few trainers but I spent my time with Danny. He is fantastic. He is knowledgeable, listens to your goals or aches and pains, and creates a workout regiment that is suited to your needs. I've had shoulder problems for years from overuse and I saw remarkable improvements. I only left the gym because I was moving for work. Danny took the last few weeks and really worked to help make my transition to my new gym easy - focusing on my form, what to look for, exercises to keep doing to protect my shoulder. I was incredibly sad to leave. By far one of the best parts of my year living in Cambridge. Highly recommend.
Mihir Trivedi: Danny has been a fantastic personal trainer and is dedicated to the goals of his clients!
Stefan Hanuska: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,QualityI lost 24 pounds and over 10% bodyfat working with Danny and Ryan over the last 5 months. Perfect combination of customized weight training and nutritional coaching to get me to my goals. Highly recommended!
B Z: I've worked with Danny three times a week for several months. When I first started, I was very nervous as I was pretty out of shape. Danny created a personal workout plan that challenged me physically but with his constant support and encouragement, made me want to come back day after day. I've enjoyed both the Private sessions & Semi Private sessions as other clients of Catalyst are as encouraging and fun to workout with as instructors. In all, I highly recommend the Catalyst team over any other gym or fitness center in the Boston area.
Jason Gehrke: Faisal and Danny are both fantastic. I've been training with them for 4 months and have gotten noticeably stronger/more fit and had fun doing it.
Maria Fernanda Montiel: Positive:ProfessionalismI love working out at Catalyst. I've seen progress in just 3-4 months. Danny and Faisal are great instructors.
Jess Auciello: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,QualityThe team at Catalyst are amazing. They’re so knowledgeable and very supportive in helping you reach your goals. I would highly recommend them! Thanks guys!!
Shira Schindel: Awesome trainers in a comfortable space with everything we need. Challenge me just the right amount. Very happy with their Covid safety precautions and approach. This has been my first time working with personal trainers and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.
Matthias Jaffe: Have been working with Ryan at Catalyst twice a week for the past 6 months and can highly recommend it. It was a great way to get into the habit of working out regularly for someone that really had never done so before. The 3 person group sessions provide a nice balance of personal attention w/o having a outright private session. Besides feeling stronger, I managed to significantly lower my cholesterol levels. Looking forward to the next 6 months!
Chinmayee Bhedi: My experience with Catalyst has been fantastic so far. I owe it to Faisal and Ryan for making the workouts personalized, fun and innovative. I would recommend these guys without a doubt.
Patrick Downes: Faisal & Ryan are the best! They're incredibly knowledgeable, great to be around, and really focus on building sustainable and functional strength. Their workouts follow a monthly schedule so that you can see your strength build in a short period of time and then compliment those gains the following month. They work hard to support your own training goals, whether it's rehabbing from an injury, building overall strength, or preparing for a fitness goal, and really care about your overall well-being. In addition to their expertise, they are both wonderful people, have a great sense of humor, and make you look forward to spending time with them. I highly recommend Catalyst!
Jessica Kensky: The trainers at Catalyst are dedicated, professional, and motivating! I found them to be extremely knowledgable and committed--they coordinate comprehensive, individualized training programs that change up every single month. I have been regularly attending Catalyst for over a year believe that Faisal and Ryan are both expert in their field, thoughtful, and pleasure to spend time with...even when they are killing you with a cardio finisher : )At Catalyst you can choose from private or small group classes--I have found both settings to allow the trainers to have lots of 1:1 time to help with your form and adjust your workouts for any functional level or injuries. This is unique fitness experience that really can't compare to your typical large gym setting.
Alex Lombardi: I have been training at Catalyst for over 3 years now and it has been the best personal and group training experience I have ever had. Faisal and his team are so knowledgeable and clearly dedicated to improving the lives of their clients. Faisal has helped me through injuries, he recommended a chiropractor and even went so far as to speak with on my behalf to let them know what was going on and help me work through it. He has always worked with me to meet personal goals, including getting me looking and feeling my absolute best for my wedding last year. And now, keeping me moving as I am expecting my first baby. Faisal's approach is above and beyond, he has assisted me with personalized workouts, diets, whatever I may need to meet my goals. He is so in tune and never pushy, only encouraging, especially on those days when I need it the most. I can't recommend Catalyst or Faisal, and his approach to health and wellness, enough.
Stephan Anderson: I began training at Catalyst about 2.5 years ago and it has, quite literally, changed my life. While no stranger to strength training, I had not lifted weights for nearly 20 years after a series of injuries. I began training at Catalyst in an effort to work through some of my nagging and limiting injuries. With Faisal and the Catalyst team's support and depth of experience, I've managed to surpass even my wildest expectations. Now at 43 years of age, I've never felt healthier or stronger. My chronic injuries are now a complete non-issue, with newfound mobility, strength, and balance. As a longtime surfer, maintaining my abilities to remain fit, strong, and mobile for many decades to come is a focus; I'm now certain that this will be possible. The Catalyst team addresses and is deeply experienced in the entirety of health and wellness, from strength and conditioning to nutrition. I cannot overstate my respect, admiration, and gratitude for Faisal and the Catalyst team.
Robin Anderson: I can’t recommend Fisal and the trainers at the Catalyst gym enough! I saw first hand the positive impact that this type training can have on your body when my husband first started at Catalyst after years of chronic pain. The transformation for his body was dramatic and not only was he pain free after a few months, he is now in the best shape of his life in his mid 40’s, all thanks to Catalyst!I started training sessions almost two years ago after being inspired by my husband, and I’ve never been happier with my body. I have become so strong and I’m doing things I never thought I would, deadlifts, chin-ups, you name it.What Catalyst does well is create a workout that is tailored specifically to you, and what works for your body and your schedule. He de-mystifies weightlifting exercises so they become less scary and, dare I say, fun! My workouts are never boring, always manageable, and the best part is that I’m seeing real results! My goal is to have a strong and healthy body as I age and I know that this is now achievable thanks to the training that I receive at Catalyst gym.

Healthworks Cambridge: what do users think?
Carter Chamberlain: Ignore this review. Google maps won't stop advertising Healthworks and rating it poorly is the only way to de-prioritize the recommendation. If the business paid for targeting advertising, they did so excessively and deserve this review.
T Lieberman: I've been really enjoying healthworks so far. I joined about 6 weeks ago, and have been really appreciating the frequent class schedule- including great challenging classes-, wide variety of equipment, sauna, clean locker room, and towel service. And great location. I now have a gym habit again after 18 years of trying occasionally and failing. The app for booking classes works really well, and I find that I can usually get the class I want. This is true even if a class initially looks booked, because of folks drop out on day of.One complaint would be that the gym says it is open until 9p but cleaners are working on the gym floor starting at 8p (though you can ignore them) and the sauna closes at 8:45p. It would be great to be truly open later. Another would be for the mics on the classes to be tested a little better, I often can't hear what the instructor is saying over the music.
Nicholas Coops: Professional staff
Adriana Azar: Nice, clean, great equipment, top facilities and classes. The only negative is how crowded it gets past 5.30pm. Other than that I love this place.
Sulafa Zidani: Giving this place two stars because they are charging way too much to have this kind of customer service. The location is great, however, they are non-responsive, and when they do respond, they talk down to customers. In my experience, they don't reply to emails, then on phone calls they'll say they will send information/forms via email and then never send it. There's also lack of transparency about charges during membership freeze, and that's another area where it seems patronizing and suspicious. For a place that's so expensive, this is unacceptable. I burned a lot more emotional energy than calories here, and I will be cancelling my membership.
Ash Blossoms: Do you love getting chased out of the gym at 8 p.m. to aggressive cleaners, an hour before the gym actually closes? Would you want to come here, every day, never complain once, then the one time you actually complain about something valid, have the general manager do nothing? Then this is the gym for you!
Stephanie Berk: Healthworks is the best gym. The staff, trainers, spa staff and classes are amazing. The facilities, showers, steam bath, sauna and locker room are amazingly clean, well maintained and a pleasure to use. I couldn't recommend this gym more highly. It is heavenly-
Biella Coleman: I'm a member of all three and my preference is to go to the Cambridge location due to parking and as it is closer to me. As someone who really loves a good sauna after a workout I have to say the wet/sauna area is showing it's age and in spite of them being good a cleaning, they are less on top of leaks and it appears like there is mildew growing on some of the tiles in the shower area and they are not taking care of leaks as quickly as I would expect. I am very mold sensitive and am finding that I will likely have to stop using this facility given the leaks/mold. I pointed out the leak that is in the picture below a few weeks ago and it is still there (as of Friday at least). I find the BackBay/Brookline locker room facilities are in far better shape. It's just there is no parking and so they are much less convenient facilities. Otherwise it is a a great facility and runs well but having mold free gym and taking care of leaks quickly are of the essence for those of us who are mold sensitive :(
Tanya Raymond: Staff are extremely rude and talk down to their customers. I’ve been warned about this place by former members. I will be canceling my membership. This place charges a lot of money for a lot of services. Customer service isn’t one of them.
Adelaide B: Been going here for a few months. Was sort of aimless at first but then started training with Ian once a week. He helped me build a solid routine, taught me form and consistency and all the intricacies of strength training. He’s incredibly knowledgeable and very good at his job. Highly recommend his services for anyone who wants to get seriously strong!
Morenvino M: Gender discriminative gym! I booked a class through their partner website, and was only told it's women only gym after I got there. Total waste of my time
Laura Grace: Love this gym. All the pamper-y amenities, classes are included in membership (and they're amazing), and the community is super inclusive.
Joy Kucinkas: Joined this gym in January… love the location, trainers, steam room/sauna and all the machines and classes!
Brandon Wilson: Been a member of the Cambridge Healthworks gym for several decades and rate it very highly for lots of reasons, including many workout amenities, convenient location in Porter Sq. w. parking and many other key businesses of convenience, extended hours, design and cleanliness of Club space, and friendly and professional staff, mgt. and trainers. Tends to be pricey, but overall, worth it if can afford it. Like their Foundation that also reaches out to less advantaged populations.
monique mcnally: Responsive management , clean areas, great staff, amazing wet room. Also a great place to take classes and get a personal trainer or a massage! Well worth the money
Grace: Healthworks is amazing!!! I love the staff and the amenities are fantastic. Sometimes I just go for the sauna. They waived my cancellation fees when I moved across the country too!! Just a sign of a great community establishment. Healthworks is what I will miss most about Boston!
Lynn Chou: I just joined recently and have loved being a member at Healthworks! It has friendly staff, clean facilities, great classes, and an amazing hot tub and sauna, which is always great for a post workout soak. Healthworks also has terrific member benefits and other cool programs — digital fitness platform, personal trainers, and onsite massages. Definitely recommend! :)
Danielle W: Great value and excellent services offered. This is truly a luxury gym and the staff keep up worth that image! Taylor is a great personal trainer and would recommend her to people of all abilities!
Jenna Sunshine: REALLY GREAT GYM! It is slightly more expensive than what I was used to, but I get 20x more stuff for the price!Classes are my jam (Zumba, Barre, Body Pump, etc); My old gym was $73/ month but they only offered ~2- 3 classes per day.Healthworks has ~20-25 CLASSES PER DAY!! There is barely an hour where there isn't a class offered. And they have every sort of class imaginable as well as a great cardio area a ton of training tools (TRX, medicine balls, bands, etc) a decent, (albeit somewhat small) free weight area, a ton of weight machines, and let's not forget one of my favorite things: they have a hot tub! Just 5 mins in there after a workout takes away all my aches & pains. Their locker room is amazing with towel service, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion, razors, shower caps, makeup removing wipes, hair dryers, a clothing steamer, vanity areas to put on makeup and do your hair. They have a pretty much nonstop locker room attendant that is always cleaning and restocking everything so it's a VERY CLEAN locker room (which is definitely not always the case with gym locker rooms!). They have personal trainers, massage therapists, child care, etc. At my old gym I rented a locker and they charged $32/month for it, so I was paying $105/month there anyway, and now I'm paying the same amount for a 10x the number of classes, and a ton more services and amenities. SO WORTH IT! I purchased the membership that enables me to go to their 3 other gyms as well but you can buy a membership to just one gym too. I got a free 2 week membership first to see if I'd like it, and there's absolutely no commitment to join after that; if you want me to help you get a free 2 week membership, just LMK!
Lisa Wood: I've been going here for a few years and have loved it. Lots of equipment, great classes, and I've never had to wait for a squat rack. Very clean and the staff is super helpful.Unfortunately, I've had to leave due to a move. The process to cancel is very painless and the membership associates go out of their way to make sure the process is quick and easy. Can't recommend this place enough.
J W: Predatory, they singed my 83 year old grandmother up when she walked by for a year and forced her to use her bank account versus a credit card. Made her sign a contract without giving her a copy of the contract. Scumbags.

Get In Shape For Women: what do users think?
Karen Dempsey: I've now been a member here 18 months, and its by far the most consistently I've used a gym membership. I really enjoy the trainers and the women I've met there. Paying a little more for small group training means I actually go--even/especially when I'm recovering from an injury. I get a great workout tailored to me.
Linda Pursley: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,QualityI have been a member her for 5+ years, and love the community of women and quality trainers. They will challenge you regardless of your age, fitness level, or ability, and adapt exercises as needed. Having an appointment insures that I get myself there regularly...highly recommend!
Melina Shamim: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,QualityEver since I joined get in shape for women in porter square, I really enjoy going to the studio and get my workout done.
suzanne Elkind: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,QualityJohn and Katie are excellent trainers. They are so friendly and responsive and the women that come here to train make for a great workout community! I would highly recommend!
Melissa Nesbitt: I've been a member at Get In Shape For Women Porter Square for 2+ years now and cannot recommend this studio highly enough! The workouts are challenging but tailored to your individual needs/abilities and the community of women who work out together make every session that much more enjoyable. Everyone is super supportive, kind, and positive. John does an amazing job of motivating everyone and keeping every workout fun through his positivity, Dad jokes and dance moves. He's also taken and continues to take all recommended precautions for COVID, which makes working out feel super safe. Katie is fantastic to work out with as well and does an excellent job combining old and new exercises to keep every session interesting.
Kathryn Hellerstein: UPDATING MY REVIEW FROM 3 YEARS AGO:2021:GET IN SHAPE FOR WOMEN is fantastic, and the Porter Square location is absolutely wonderful. I’ve been working out here for six years. John and the other trainers are experts, as well as warm people, demanding in a good way, and very responsive to individual needs and requests. The facility is pristine, and the atmosphere is friendly and fun. I love this place!2018:Great trainers , great training , fun and motivating and effective. Wonderful!!!
susan edwards: I've been coming to the gym for over three years now and absolutely love both the workouts and the community. John is a joy to work out with and I've met some great women in the small-group training classes . The pandemic has been difficult both physically and mentally so I was excited to come back. I feel really safe with all the COVID protocols in place at the gym and it's great to be back and working out again. 10/10 would recommend.
Lisa Baldridge: I love this gym! I've done circuit training at several gyms and this is my favorite by far! Catering to women of all ages, John and Katie are great about adapting workouts to all levels, limitations and abilities. I don't feel the pressure I did at other gyms about not being able to keep up someone much younger than me (I'm 54), but still feel challenged (in a good way). Aside from the workout, I love the community in Get In Shape. Both John and Katie take the time to get to know the members personally and everyone is super supportive of each other. Whatever your age or fitness level, if you're looking for a great workout at a gym that won't make you feel self-conscious, this is for you!
Hannah Casey: Nice place for a quick workout with friendly atmosphere. Get a weights workout in and then hit some cardio, better price than many other gyms in the area
Holly Hatch: Very personalized and caring small gym with knowledgeable trainers. They work to create a community committed to healthy exercise and diet. The combination of strength, HIIT, and diet works if you are consistent.
Cornelia Robart: Best fitness in Porter Square! Owners and staff qualified, competent, joyous and inspiring. A lifeline for this sedentary body and spirit. -CR
heidi urich: This is a great gym offering excellent, personalized training by superb trainers!
Matthew Wells: Called this gym to help my wife get relocated in the area and can't even get a call back. Also tried email. So much for customer service...
Jennifer Stone: This might be the most amazing gym I’ve ever joined. The staff are phenomenal and really dedicated to your success. I’m never bored and always have great workouts. 10 our of 10 would recommend to any friend!
meera singh: Kate and John have shaped GISFW into a warm, supportive abd happy environment to help us reach our fitness goals I love the small group training model. Trainers are mindful of any limitations and customize each person's workout. You"ll always here laughter at GIS Porter Sq.!
Erica Tubman: Love this place! Great management and trainers and supportive environment among the clients.
Eva Nilsen: I have been with GISFW for two years and have had a terrific workout experience. The trainers are excellent and the management is very flexible and sensitive to everyone's scheduling needs. They are always coming up with ways to improve the services they offer and have a personal relationship with all the members. I highly recommend the Porter Square GISFW.
Jeanne Mccormack: Extremely professional and very beneficial to my overall health. The facility was very professional and very inv dyed in improving my health concerns. The owners and Trainor’s were friendly and fostered a family atmosphere and made it their mission to help all members achieve their health goals
Jenny Grassl: The trainers and owners are always there for support in exercise and for nutrition. They are professional, always knowledgable, and encouraging. Tailored to the needs of each woman, the workouts are just the right amount of challenging. The appointments are key for me--I don't have to wonder which day and time I am going to exercise! Great place.
Patricia Fisk: Incredible place! Almost like having your own personal trainer. Always positive & encouraging! It"s hard to believe that at my age, I can still get stronger & more fit! I hope that it goes on forever!

VIM Fitness: what do users think?
Waqar Ali: This is not a gym, it's a fancy gym!!! Great place to have your local gym. Super clean, staff are helpful, respectful, and friendly... Best local gym ever. Thinking to get a membership with them.
Diesel I n c: Way overpriced, rude staff and the trainers are clueless. The equipment is nice but thats about it and u can get the same kind of workout at other gyms for half the price. 8 people I know have canceled their memberships at this place. Stay away and find a better and cheaper gym.
Shiran Soholitsky: Love the studio classes. The yoga is absolutely great, teached by great instructors. The mat pilates classes are also great. The showers are well equipped and clean, and there's plenty of available lockers. The only problem is that you can't keep your stuff in the lockers during the week or even during the night, so if you're planning on taking a shower you need to bring your things every time. The good part is that there is towels service :)
Mark Diethelm: The best gym in Cambridge, easily. Lots of equipment, a big clean space and lots of lockers in the locker room. It can sometimes get pretty busy at peak hours, as well run out of space in the locker room, so I recommend going early in the morning or after the post work rush. They recently added a number of new stations and pieces of equipment, adding to its appeal.
J Cha: Clean facility with abundance of different equipments! They are also offering several promotions until 12/31!
Gio B: Called just to ask if they had a sauna. Guy on the phone was rude bad vibes.
Yvan Pearson: Good gym, avoid the 5-6p rush
Kristen Banks: Last couple years with Covid making gyms a risk, this place was impeccable and safe with their cleanliness and protocol. Needless to say I am a fan and appreciate all they do to make my visits the Best!
D Eqb: Clean, well designed, with considerate clientele and professional staff at the most reasonable rate for this caliber of club. Can be a little tight in the free weight area, but that's understandable when securing premium space in one of the most in demand US city centers. The whole place had the feel of a highend club with the exception of the wall under the bathroom hand dryer that could use a little more regular wiping down.
Ashfaqur Rahman: Nice gym. Spacious. Lots of activities even in the early mornings.
Charlie Lewitt: I started going to VIM a couple on months ago when my office moved to Central. I don’t have anything but great things to say. The gym is clean, great layout of equipment, and it’s never overly crowded. For the price, it’s an incredible deal. Not as luxurious as Equinox but leaps and bounds better than a Boston Sports Club.
Julian: Quality equipment. Well maintained facilities. Missing some desirable equipment, most notably a 4 way neck machine. Crowded during rush hour.
Olga Stroilova: love this gym. convenient and clean.
Trevor Guisinger: Great gym, questionable customer service.Loved working out at this gym, equipment is great and always available (at least at times I went). Employees were super nice and helpful. Customer service from upper management is a little sketch. Moving to Chicago in 7 days and instead of working a deal out with a retuning customer they decided it was best to charge me for an entire month. I love this place and will be traveling back to boston ~6 times a year for work. I would have spent the money to workout at VIM during these times if they had treated me better in my moving situation.
Janice Lee: Their customer service is the worst I've experienced in any gym, including a gym like Planet Fitness. Their online system is unnecessarily complex and clunky (e.g. I had to re-type my address, number, and other personal information to cancel, whereas in other gyms, you just tell them your name and ask to cancel.). They also make you cancel at least two months in advance-- this was not communicated to me upon sign-up. When I pointed this out, they were very rude and defensive rather than apologetic. It's a shame BSC Central Square closed down because VIM is 3x as expensive and 3x as rude.
Dana: Clean, good equipment, never insanely busy
Ellen: It has everything I would need and is really well priced, given it's not huge (no pool) or upscale. If you get a day pass, you have to pay $20 which can be deducted if you buy a membership on the same day. I've never used the showers but they look clean. Best of all--and this is super important as a young woman--everyone here is super respectful and I have never felt unsafe or creeped out
Annabella Gong: Joining VIM as a member has been one of the best decisions I've made since moving to the area 2 yrs ago. In addition to offering top-notch fitness classes (which is the most effective way I exercise and trust me you are sore, sweaty, and fulfilled after every class), VIM fosters such a welcoming, inclusive community. Gyms can often feel intimidating, but I've met some of the most genuine, eclectic, awesome people in the VIM community. Couldn't recommend this place more - in my view, the best gym in Cambridge! :)
Bridgette Navejar: Really enjoy working out here. Clean, spacious, and great layout.
jimmitry Emile: Very Nice and clean,
L Eag: Serious gym

Inner Strength Fitness: what do users think?
Lindsay Hines: I’ve worked with Lauren for about a year now and can’t recommend her enough. It’s been fun hitting strength milestones and my friends and family have noticed a difference!
Zuri Sullivan: Lauren is an incredible trainer and her space is so inclusive, welcoming, and fun! At my first appointment she performed an assessment of my movement and designed a program specific to my goals. She's full of helpful advice and really a wonderful person to work with. I noticed improvements in my strength and mobility after just a few sessions of working with her. I'm really grateful to have found Lauren!
Thanh Ly: I found Inner Strength Fitness while Googling Gyms Near Me and I found Lauren's Gym. She has been very helpful and attentive to my fitness journey. We've achieved them in the months that I trained with her. I highly recommend her to anyone and my peers. The only reason why I had to stop was because of family stuff that I'm dealing and I moved away from Somerville.
Natalia Flaster: Lauren is amazing! I have been training with her for over two years. She has helped me improve my eating habits and has helped me strengthen my muscles.
Ryan McCreedy: We recently had the pleasure of working with Lauren, a personal trainer and nutritionist, who inspired me and my fiancé to achieve our goal of running our first 5k. From the start, Lauren was incredibly supportive and knowledgeable, not only in terms of training but also in nutrition. She tailored our training plan to our needs and goals, taking into account our starting fitness levels and our individual goals.Lauren's training sessions were challenging yet enjoyable, she pushed us to work harder but also made sure we were comfortable with the progress. She was always available to answer any questions we had and provided us with valuable advice on how to improve our fitness. What impressed us the most about Lauren was her ability to combine training with nutrition. She provided us with a nutrition plan that was tailored to our needs and goals, and she helped us understand the importance of fueling our bodies properly. This made a good difference to our progress. We couldn't have done it without her guidance, support and encouragement. Lauren is an excellent trainer and a great motivator. She truly cares about her clients and goes above and beyond to help them reach their goals. Thanks to her, my fiancé and I have discovered a new love for running!
Kathleen Flynn Froehlich: Chloe is the most incredible trainer. She not only builds a dynamic and helpful workout plan to meet your needs but she helps you with body acceptance and confidence. She is a wealth of knowledge and is continuously learning new things to help clients as well. I highly recommend working with her.
shouren dalvi: Lauren at IFS is an amazing trainer. Me and my wife trained with her consistently for about two months (around 12 sessions),and we saw positive improvements right away.Even after six months of physical therapy, my wife's knee that had undergone ACL surgery two years prior never regainedits strength. My wife was able to perform many knee related exercises that she never believed she would be able to in just 4 sessions with Lauren.I too noticed a shift in my physical stamina and believed my body was becoming more flexible day by day.In two months, we both improved from holding a plank for 20 seconds to a 60-second hold (with 15 pounds bag on our back). Her workout schedules were tailored to our needs (like which area of body do you want more attention on), but overall, it was a full-body workout. We had many questions and doubts about the workouts, some of which were stupid, and Lauren was open to them all.She is really knowledgeable and would go out of her way to ensure that we are performing an exercise in the proper body form. She is incredibly accommodating and was willing to adjust her schedule to fit ours. Her dog Franny added even more charm to her adorable little studio. Overall, working with Lauren was a very pleasant experience, and I would highly recommend her to anyone interested in strength training.Tip - If you perform her at-home routine, you will begin to see results far quickly.
anabeldorothy: Lauren at ISF has been amazing. I hadn't worked out in over 2 years because of a chronic illness and had so much anxiety about what to do/ where to start/ what my body was capable of. Thankfully, I found Lauren who spent the time to really understand my situation and created tailored exercises in a comfortable environment to get me back into things. I feel so good after each session and can't wait to continue getting stronger with her guidance. Thank you so much ISF!
Colleen Casey: Lauren and I have been working together since 2018. From the beginning, I was impressed with her knowledge and her ease of communicating all that she knows. She asked me about back pain I was having and had many different ways to modify exercises for me.Over time, I have been surprised by how strong I have become. I see so many benefits of strength training. I was excited to work with Lauren more leading up to my wedding recently. She has helped me reach my goals and I’m really happy with my progress. I would strongly recommend her!Lauren is also smart, warm, and fun to be around. She also has a sweet dog, Franny, who is fun to visit with at the studio.
Emily Ledger: I’ve been training with Lauren almost a year, 2x per week, and she’s fantastic! I have trouble getting myself to go to the gym, so it’s not worth it for me to pay for a gym membership as well as personal training. We rotate through different workout sets so it’s never boring. I even made my husband come work out with her.
Kaitlyn Gernatt: I have been training with Lauren for over 2 years now and I cannot highly recommend her enough. She helped me set reasonable goals and I never feel pressured to do more than my body is capable of. My workouts are always challenging but never in an overwhelming way. I feel so much stronger and am noticeably healthier since I started training with Lauren. I have always struggled with motivation to workout but now that I have Lauren, I'm excited to go to the gym. If any of this sounds relatable, go see Lauren! You won't regret it.
Lauren Shelley: Lauren is passionate about fitness and all things health related. She helped me prepare my body and mind for marriage, pregnancy, and birth. I had an amaizng birth experience, and I worked out with Lauren up until the day I went into labor. My family moved during my postpartum period, and I have never missed anyone more than her. If you have a chance to train with Lauren, she is the one to hire!
Stacy Braga: Positive:Communication,QualityLauren is a great trainer that will work with you to meet your health and fitness goals. She is flexible in offering both virtual and in person sessions. She is laid back but will also challenge you. Great experience working with her 💪💪💪

Dirty Water Fitness: what do users think?
Catherine Palmer: I’ve loved working out at Dirty Water Fitness over the last year. I trained here before, during, and after my pregnancy and felt safe the entire time thanks to their amazing trainers. They’re serious about fitness with a fun, laid back environment. Great gym!
Isaac Costa Queiroz: This is a awesome gym with a great family vibe. The owner is so informative and people friendly i felt right at home.I can work out anytime day or night and he has personal trains available if you need one I couldn't have joined a better gym.
Cody Ridler: I have been a member of Dirty Water Fitness for over a year now and I am beyond impressed with my experience! The facilities are top-notch, the equipment is always well-maintained, and the personal trainers are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. I have been working with Sara and she is wonderful in knowing my limits and when to push. I always leave feeling energized and accomplished. I highly recommend Dirty Water Fitness to anyone looking for a top-notch gym experience.
Julie Paris: I regularly attend for small group training and in the past have used the personal training services at DWF and in both settings I'm challenged by the trainers and motivated by them! The entire team is very smart and so good at what they do. I learn something new every time I'm there! I highly recommend this fitness center.
Julie Elliott: I met Joe and Sarah in the pre-Dirty Water Fitness days. I was drawn in by their caring spirit and the willingness to overcome obstacles during the pandemic to assure my goals continued to be met. I worked with Joe, with a goal of general health and strength. And then we began lifting weights, and wow was I hooked! I remember when deadlifting 125 seemed impossible, and with Joe I achieved a PR of 320# post the pandemic forced break. Dirty Water Fitness is a community of caring trainers and great clients in a comfortable, inclusive environment, with no intimidation or judgement (I am 56 yr old). And, when I moved from Cambridge, Joe made the effort to assure I found a new trainer in my new city, by personally making the contact and establishing the connection. That is caring beyond the usual in today's world. I wish Dirty Water Fitness the best of the best with their expansion. Definitely a gem for the Cambridge fitness scene.
Fiona Hopkins: I love training at Dirty Water Fitness. I’ve been working with Sara for almost a year now, focused mostly on power lifting and building my strength. She’s been great at helping me work towards my goals, and also adapt our workouts when some of my health issues flared up.The trainers and other clients keep it a welcoming and friendly place to be. As a trans woman I was really wary to go to any gym but at Dirty Water Fitness I’m perfectly comfortable being myself.
Prayush “Pray” Pokharel: I am a huge fan of Dirty Water Fitness. I usually work with Joe or Sara, but have had classes/sessions with Josh and Tanner. And 100% without a doubt I'd be happy to be trained by any of them. The other clients I've met are also all friendly. Plus occasionally Coach Achilles will be there, and he always brightens my day!I highly recommend the group classes if you aren't looking for a specific workout regime, but if you are then the personal sessions are phenomenal.
Erica Liu: I’ve been working with Tanner once a week for a few months now. Even though I only go once a week, there has been a noticeable improvement in my strength and physical appearance (my husband and friends have also noticed). And the atmosphere at DWF is friendly and easygoing, which makes the training part more fun, too.
Ben Halperin: I trained with Joe Adelman briefly at another gym back in 2019 but then changed jobs and the gym wasn't nearby so had to stop going. At the start of the pandemic Joe reached back out to me and asked if I was interested in remote training. He's been developing my training program ever since (and it continues to be remote since I've moved out of the state). Short story is that it's been awesome and I'm so happy he reached out!At the start of training I was recovering from a lingering foot injury. Joe was great at coming up with exercises to work my legs without making my foot any worse. Eventually my foot got better and gyms opened back up so we moved from bodyweight exercises into weight training. The whole way through Joe's been great about giving feedback when I send him videos of my lifts and adjusting workouts based on my schedule. Since I started training with him I've put on easily 20lb of muscle and am the strongest I've ever been! I'd definitely recommend him to anyone looking to get fit. If you put in the work, he'll make sure you're doing the right things so that you get results.
A R: Knowledgeable, pro trainers and good at actually teaching.
Christina G: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,QualityKnowledgeable and professional trainers and a clean environment! They do a great job tailoring exercises to your abilities and making you feel comfortable and encouraged the whole time you’re there. Highly recommend trying them out!
Massachusetts01: Top notch personal training.
Aynsley Wright: Everyone at Dirty Water Fitness is incredible!!! I have been going to them since they opened and the results have been amazing. I dont even recognize myself anymore my strength and endurance has been unrecognizable. Aside from how much better I look and feel with my body I am truly so grateful for the trainers and the atmosphere at DWF. They are some of the most supportive people around and inspire me to be a better version of self as a whole. They have been so uplifting and helpful with my fitness goals and personal. No matter what age or goal you have they make it work and create a customizable program that works best for your lifestyle. If you are looking to transform your life you need to go and see them. I cant imagine starting my morning any other way!!!
ShooterNoNBA: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,QualityExcellent facility, equipment and very welcoming!
Malik Fleming: Love it !!!!
John Chen: The best!!
Joshua Portnof: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,QualityI never thought I'd stick with training 3 days a week for so long, let alone look forward to it. Joe is great at pushing limits and getting the most out of every session. Everyone there is so nice and it's never crazy crowded. If you're looking for no nonsense training in a positive environment look no further! 10/10
Justin Kocan: I have had the pleasure of working with each of the trainers at Dirty Water Fitness while on my journey to understand their training styles and personalities. Every trainer on this team shows strong dedication to and understanding of their clients and creates a clear individualized path to acheiving fitness goals. In addition to providing top quality personal training, they have such amazing personalities. As a client of Dirty Water Fitness you can fully count on feeling welcomed, comfortable, and wholly part of their team and ecosystem. If you are looking to have a great connection on a personal level with a team that cares and successfully guides you through the physical and mental tests of fitness training I highly recommend all of the trainers at Dirty Water Fitness.

Health Forever Personal Training: what do users think?
Andrew Bock: This is my second week at Health Forever after purchasing an Amazon Local, along with my girlfriend, and I'm happy with the results so far.Health Forever shares its space with the Deborah Mason School of Dance, so don't be intimidated by the gang of 9-year-old ballerinas congregating in the lobby.HF uses the dance studios for its own workouts, and has a smaller room off to the side for the 4-person Group Fit (weight training) workouts.Bobby, the owner, leads most of the classes himself, but does have specific instructors for certain classes. The whole business has only been open for a few weeks.Since it is a small business, email is your best bet for questions, though you can leave a VM if no one is able to answer the phone.Classes I've been to so far:CorpBasics360 (taught by Andy): I was the only dude in the group, and must've looked extremely out of place, since Corpbasics existed elsewhere before, meaning most of the women knew all the moves by heart. If you've seen Zoolander and know what breakdance fighting is, you'll be a natural. - 1 HOUR CLASSFitness Bootcamp: Circuit training. Each time there have been approx. 6 stations, consisting of 30/45/60 second intervals ranging from a upper/lower body weights to corp work & planking to agility training (step and cone drills). Then you go through the reps again on an entirely new set of stations. I have only nearly fainted once so far. - 45 MINUTE CLASSGroup Fit: 4 person classes focusing on weights training only. 30 second intervals working the whole body (e.g. bicep curls, side lunges, squats, etc) - 30 MINUTE CLASSI've definitely gotten some of the best workouts in my life in the past two weeks, but I'm also out of shape, and have never done classes before. I always thought I was getting a sold workout from 30 minutes on the elliptical, but HF blows that tinker toy away. All skill levels are welcome. Instructors actually care about your well-being, make you feel comfortable and the one class we've done twice was different from the previous time.
Robert Johnson: Great spot, with absolutely great instructors. The new space in Somerville is also very clean which is important.

Romes Fitness: what do users think?
Andrew Schmitz: A welcoming and fun gym that takes your individual needs and health seriously.
Ken Johnson: Rome is amazing, he is extremely knowledgeable about body mechanics. He was even able to help me recover from a shoulder injury and get in better shape while I was recovering. His workout plans are easy to follow and get great results!Rome is definitely a full body trainer that can get you in the best shape of your life. Seriously I would give more than 5 stars if I could...
Miko: Training with Rome has changed my life for the better. I'm eating consciously, my arms look amazing, my butt is lifting, and my legs are getting tighter by the training session. He is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about his work and helping his clients see results. Rome listens to your goals and trains you accordingly, no cookie cutter workouts over here. I hate cardio, but Rome finds a way to include cardio in our sessions that aren't long and boring. He will constantly push you (even if you happen to yell an expletive or two at him), whilst making you feel like your a champion when its all said and done!I 100% recommend you see Rome ...ASAP!
Amber Ethridge: Rome is an amazing trainer! He was able to immediately identify some physical problems I was having with my feet and help me fix them. I was only able to train with Rome in person for a few months but in that time he was able to help me gain the skills and strength i need to achieve my goals. Now from across the country he is still able to help me achieve my new fitness goals. He is a great teacher and able to push me further than I thought I could all while making it fun. Rome has a gift, he not only help me get healthier and achieve my goals but he also inspired me to be my better version of myself and to be stronger, confident and healthier than I was before.
bebo lopez: my experiences with rome was good he is a mentor great teacher for a young kid like me i work with rome for a few months had alots of laughs had alot get done when working out with rome sorry i been pretty busy......Bebo ill see you soon hopefully
