DuVine Cycling + Adventure Co.: what do users think?
Sarah Dalrymple: My friend, husband and I recently enjoyed Duvine’s Four-Day Tuscany tour. April is a beautiful month to ride through the country - lush greenery, fragrant flowers and beautiful blossoms abound. The trip was exceptional from start to finish; transportation and transfers logistics were made simple by the Duvine team, the fleet of bikes and related accessories are top-notch, the hotels and culinary experiences are best-in-class, and the flexibility with the itinerary effortlessly accommodated a wide range of levels. Our guides, Paolo, Erica and Marco, elevated the trip for all of us. They embraced us with their professionalism, thoughtfulness, authenticity, humor and local knowledge. We were in the best of hands and highly recommend this trip - wonderful people, wonderful memories, wonderful hospitality. Thank you, Duvine Team!
Salim Kassam: Epic experience. I almost don't want people to find out about Duvine because word is it's already booked out in some locations next year :). Exceptional service end to end and quality of hotels / food was much higher than expected. Until next year!
Lisa Solberg: To celebrate our 40th anniversary, my husband and I planned a week long private bike trip with our two adult children and their spouses (and one baby granddaughter). We did 150 miles through Napa and Sonoma stopping at wineries and some fabulous restaurants. Our guides were Mario and Simon...they were educational, so kind and responsive to our every need, and just downright fun! We stayed at a private villa and had a chef come in for a couple of dinners. All of it FAR exceeded our expectations! As we said goodbye to our children at the airport, my son said "thank you for this once in a lifetime other worldly trip". Very well said.
shari kushner: My husband and I took our 4th trip with Duvine to Mallorca. We brought along with 2 other couples, neither of whom had been on an organized bike trip. I did not think our experience could get any better than our first Duvine trip through Puglia with our two daughters. Davide and Lindsey were our tour guides in Puglia and were magnificent as were the accommodations and of course the Italian countryside. The trip to Mallorca was a gift from my husband for an unnamed big birthday ( :)). I cannot overstate how fantastic this trip was. Beginning with our guides, Ernesto and Gonzalo -- always happy, knowledgeable and attentive, to the spectacular accommodations, to the amazing people on our tour (extending beyond those we came with), to the high quality equipment, and finally to the spectacular biking throughout Mallorca. On a scale of 1 - 10, this trip was a 12. We are already thinking about our next trip.
Amanda W: My trip to Italy with DuVine was hands down the absolute best thing I have ever done. Ever. I can't speak highly enough of every aspect of the trip, from our guides (Erica and Dalia), to the Hotels, to the restaurants, the service they provide is second to none. It was so amazing not having to think about anything other than what I was going to wear for the day, or to dinner that evening. Duvine do everything. They really go above and beyond to make ensure your trip and adventure with them is as flawless as possible. I haven't stopped talking about my trip since I left, and am already planning my next! Thank you DuVine 3
marty thomas: I just had the opportunity to go on a Duvine trip to Camden, Maine. Simply put … they are a first class company solely focused on providing a fabulous experience!!!
Deb Kop: We had an amazing experience cycling with DuVine through Bordeaux. This trip was my husband's and my first group tour of any type. We selected DuVine because of the small group size and based on the recommendation of one of my friends at work who has participated with his wife on a number of your tours. The entire tour, from the daily rides to the accommodations, food, educational information, and wine tastings, was top notch. The itinerary was a perfect blend of activity and down time. We enjoyed socializing with all of the guests on the tour and made some really interesting connections with like-minded people. Altogether there were eight guests on our trip. However, one of the most important factors contributing to our overall satisfaction with the trip was the two guides, John and Alexis. They are both incredibly service oriented and really went above and beyond our expectations. For example, they adeptly dealt with confusion about the bike I had requested. I had requested a road bike online when I registered for the tour. They were advised that I had requested a hybrid. Because I had never ridden a hybrid I expressed my desire to have a road bike. Alexis spent much of the first night going to a local bike shop to find a very nice Cube road bike for me to use the rest of the trip. If not addressed, this equipment mistake could have had a negative impact on my enjoyment of the cycling aspect of the trip. The way that the guides addressed this started the trip off on the right note.Throughout the trip, John was very accommodating, trying to provide the correct blend of faster paced and longer rides for more experienced cyclists, while offering alternatives for individuals who were relatively new to cycling. He adjusted morning start times and pre- and post-lunch ride lengths and climb options to adapt to the group’s requests and abilities. He shared his knowledge of the area and wines at each of our stops and really focused on the group’s interests and expectations. He is also a skilled chef: the picnic he prepared for us was fabulous. He spent one-on-one time with individuals who did not know how to change their gears to climb hills and went on extra trips with individuals who wanted extra miles. He was very considerate and attentive to our needs.Alexis was the perfect counter point to John. Although he did not have as much experience on the Bordeaux tour as John, he is simply charming. He was such a joy to cycle with. His love of cycling, France, and people really showed through in everything he did. Alexis was just as service oriented and considerate John. They both seemed to really enjoy each other and their styles complement each other.I honestly cannot say enough positive things about the trip. My husband and I have different cycling abilities, and we both felt that the cycling was appropriately challenging. The cultural immersion, food, wine, accommodations and natural beauty would be hard to surpass. We just returned home and are still glowing from our adventure. We are already thinking about what DuVine tour we might want to try next year.
Emanuel Alvaro: Loved the experience cycling in the country side of Tuscany! Definitely going back next year!
Denise Rosenblum: We can’t say enough good things about Duvine. This was our fifth trip and we have already signed up for another one next summer. Everything they do is perfect. The guides are all incredible and smart and knowledgeable and kind. They go out of their way to find the best hotels and organize meals and experiences that you could never find anywhere else or on your own. They take the planning out of travel. It is the most relaxing vacation because they do it all for you. All you have to do is hop on the bike and with E bikes that is getting easier by the day. You see incredible scenery and experience wonderful things. I would recommend any Divone trip to someone who appreciates travel great food wine and an outstanding experience
aaron meyerson: Hi Andy,I wanted to drop you a note while the incredible high from our Duvine trip was still fresh. What an amazing trip. I was going to say that you have a great formula for magic but nothing about the trip feels formulaic at all. Beyond the incredible location of the Dolomites, and the superb hotels (My Arbor the best) and dining and little bespoke things along the way, the guides really made the trip. Valentino and Enrico are A+. They worked so hard to make it special for everyone, but beyond that, they have a great sense of fun and adventure and really bonded with the group. And what’s so special about your guides (I’ve now met four) is that they make every group feel like they are the “special” group, the cool group, the best group. And then remarkably they do it all over again the next day with a new group. Your guide sourcing and training, and the culture you have created is clearly top notch. And you have a great attention to all the small details that makes the trip shine.Aaron
Erin Carroll: My parents brought me on the Normandy bike trip last week. I had never been on one (and to be honest, am not much of a biker) but it was one of the best things I’ve ever done! I had the most amazing time and it far exceeded any expectations that I had.David and Spag, our guides, were incredible, as were the accommodations, sites we visited, food, wine and biking. And I was able to spend time with my family in a way that I hadn’t in many years, away from every day distractions, in a beautiful place.David and Spag were extremely attentive. Any concerns anyone had were immediately addressed. If we needed anything, they would attend to us. They never made us feel like we were inconveniencing them. They just got it done.David and Spag perfectly explained ahead of time what we would be doing. We understood the path, the distance and the difficulty each day so we knew what we had ahead of us. They also did it in a way that would allow us to be optimistic that we would be successful (especially important for a non-biker like me!). The maps and elevation graphs were very helpful.Their knowledge of the area and history was very impressive. They explained everything, and answered our questions (and if they didn’t know they answer came back to us with it later that day). Our day visit the Normandy American Cemetery was also flawless. We were there in plenty of time for our ceremony. David and Spag suggested that we drive there instead of biking so we could dress appropriately to pay respect, then change to our biking gear after the visit to the cemetery which was perfect. The guide, Matthew, was amazing. His passion for the history of the area was obvious which made it more interesting for me to learn. He, like David and Spag, was able to answer any of our questions and if he didn’t know, he got us an answer. It was overall a very somber day with the right mix of visiting the historic sites, learning of the events that occurred there, and biking. Our guides did an incredible job with the food and wine.-The restaurants we went to were all wonderful and the service we received was top notch. It was easy for us to see that the restaurant staff had a respect and appreciation for both David and Spag by how they treated them and our group.-In addition to being a non-biker I do not speak French (a double whammy, I know😆). David, Spag and the restaurant staff all made sure we understood the menu and what we were ordering.-Any meals that were selected ahead of time for us were delicious and thoughtfully chosen, and if we had an aversion of any kind to any part of it, they made sure we had a substitute, again, no questions asked and without us feeling like we were putting them out.-The night they weren’t with us for dinner, they went out of their way to find us an Italian restaurant (some of us were craving pasta) that would fit all of us at a time that worked for us. The restaurant staff again had our table waiting and we had another delicious meal.David and Spag made us feel like family. It was easy to get to know them and to like them immediately. Their personalities shined for the entire week which I’m sure is not easy after five days of us all being together and having to be “on” the entire time. We got to know them and about their lives outside of work and they got to know us. They showed that they cared, asked questions and remembered each of us individually, whether it was about our needs and abilities for the trip, or our lives at home. The accommodations at all of the locations were also incredible. I personally thought the “backwards” trip that we took (Mont Saint Michel first and Honfleur last) was perfect. I preferred the longer drive and more touristy location at the beginning of the trip. I also know how much my parents appreciated that the guides were able to change the direction of the trip to accommodate their cruise.Thank you for coming up with such an incredible concept of the bike tours. My parents obviously love going on them, and now I have seen firsthand why.
Jorge Quinzanos: Great bike tour. Great guides. Thank you guys.
Sammantha Teuscher: Amazing experience, excellent guides, attention to detail!
Mike Brosius: Our trip with duvine to the Dolomites was spectacular. We had very high expectations going in and they were exceeded in every way. The tour guides were exceptional. Not only were they great riders but they provided fantastic information on the mica areas that we traveled through. They took us to unique restaurants that were way off the beaten path, the hotels were all very unique and a guide different from each other. The food stops along the ride we’re excellent with great ride food as well as fantastic stops in small villages along the way for coffee and snacks. I would HIGHLY recommend divine and can’t wait for the next tourThank you for a unforgettable trip.Mike
Terri Cooper: My second Duvine trip. Absolutely incredible staff, service, locations, hotels, dining, biking and culture. I can not say enough to express how truly amazing this company is. Looking forward to my next adventure with Duvine.
Karen Beattie: Our guides, Vitek and Laddy were the BEST!! Our custom, private family trip to Austria/Czech was better than I could have imagined. We greatly enjoyed the rides, the sights, the activities & the food experiences! Having two guides came in handy, as one riding day became too difficult for our youngest (but Laddy was so good and trustworthy with kids, our son was relieved and happy to leave us and go with him). Also, with Vitek’s help, we had the ability to change plans spontaneously as the situation required - for instance, our luggage didn’t arrive into Vienna until 5 days later, so we had to deal with that and extra shopping - a headache regardless, but minimized because of their help….(as an aside, I highly recommend to use luggage trackers and pack necessities for the next day as a carry on). And one final note…i am so pleased that they took so many photos and videos of us, allowing me (the family photographer) to focus on enjoying the trip instead of trying to record everything myself! Thank you, Duvine - for helping us to create such a memorable experience for our family!
Sally Safa: I usually don’t post on google. Never had a reason to want to share an experience….but…I do now! DuVine was an incredible company to travel with from the beginning right to the end. We just finished a one week bike trip through Switzerland. Our guides were Damien and David. They were absolutely amazing! Hard working, kind, professional! Hotels were some of the best we have ever been to, the food delicious and the biking was safe, well planned and so enjoyable. We will go on another DuVine trip…highly highly recommend!
debby t: In 2019 Our 5 days spent cycling in the Douro was fantastic. Our guides support was perfect. Sad it had to end. THANKS DUVINEJuly 2022We LOVED Duvine guides Pedro and Ricardo on our Azores cycle holiday. We just returned to Toronto and the memories they gave us were unparalleled.Ricardo is a real people person and Pedro is in serious mode at all the right times assuring we got the best service and experience. A truly great team representing Duvine The few moments of challenge with the service were handled beautifully. So sad to leave them.RegardsDebby and Marvyn TurkToronto Duvine fans!
Melinda Taylor: We just completed the best vacation of our lives - a Duvine trip in the Loire with guides Harvey Stansfield and Quentin Come, five of our closest friends, and one new friend from Miami. Every aspect of the trip was perfect: the accommodations, the food, the fabulous wine, the gorgeous, well-planned rides, and especially the time we spent with local winemakers and chefs. We cannot sing the praises loudly enough of Harvey and Quentin and the amazing job they did. They took care of every detail related to the trip and made sure we made the most of each place we visited. We especially appreciated their flexibility and willingness to make adjustments on the fly (e.g., obtain e-bikes for two guests after the first day when it was clear the guests would enjoy the trip much more with a little assist), and the thought they had obviously put into each of the stops we made.Harvey has a terrific personality (charming, witty, funny, curious) and we enjoyed all our time with him. He has forged friendships and contacts with a multitude of local people and businesses, and we benefitted greatly from those contacts. For example, Harvey introduced us to a lovely maker of natural wines, knowing that four of us on the trip are environmental lawyers, passionate about organic agriculture and conservation.Quentin was also fantastic. He was an enthusiastic, very capable guide who took great care to ensure that the least experienced riders in our group had a blast and also stayed safe at all times. He is a terrific young man, and was incredibly charming and kind to all of us. Being a French native from not far away, he gave us valuable and interesting insights into French life and culture. We thoroughly enjoyed spending time with Harvey and Quentin this week and having the privilege of getting to know them.We plan to spend a good part of our return flight home tomorrow poring over the Duvine website and planning our next adventure!
Howard Fiedler: As our first time with an organized bike tour experience, I have to say that DuVine knocked it out of the park with our bike tour in Burgundy, exceeding our expectations on every level! The biking gear was first rate (mine was the nicest hybrid I've ever written and my wife's first wonderful experience with an e-bike). But you soon learn that the biking is only a part of it all - the wine & meals were equally wonderful and exciting. And our guides (Lewis & Charlotte) were a key part of it all - anticipating our needs at every step and genuinely committed to ensuring a deeply rewarding experience (tweaking bikes, keeping us hydrated, lining up wine tastings, quaint hotels & restaurants, & learning about/enjoying a variety of wines). Loved it all and can't wait to find the next DuVine tour/country to explore/experience!
Linda Jackson: Dear Andy,Larry and I have been home a few days now and just have to share our feelings with you about our wonderful experience on our trip. While the food, wine and location are, of course, spectacular, the experience was made truly superior as a result of Lewis and Charlotte. You have something really special in this team — individually they are amazing but together they are exceptional. You probably already know this, which is why you have them on your team, but as customers, it was unexpected and special. Lewis has forever changed the way we view history in the context of how we experience life today, for example. His ways of explaining why things are the way they are while he teaches us about the history of the area, made me wish that history was taught this way in schools. We had our young adult children with us who also walked away changed for the experience. As for Charlotte, well, we wish we could have taken her home with us. Biking in wine country with a wine maker is something we did not anticipate and will never forget. Our entire family learned so much from them both. We’ve done other adventure-travel trips — hiking in Peru or 14 days down the Colorado in the Grand Canyon, and the guides are always integral to the experience. But Lewis and Charlotte stand above. We think you should know that. This trip was special for us as a family — it was a graduation gift for our three 2020 graduates (high school, college and graduate school) that was delayed by the pandemic. We’ve been waiting a long time to finally take this trip and it was worth the wait. It was heartwarming to see Lewis and Charlotte embrace our kids and ensure they felt included, welcomed and appreciated. We could go on and on, but we won’t. I think you get the idea. We’ve already been recommending this trip every chance we get and look forward to another DuVine adventure in our future. All the very best,Linda and Larry Jackson
