Portside Truck & Auto Repair: what do users think?
Kicka 30: Management stinks they treat the employees and customers like c***Services:Air cabin filter replacement,Air conditioning,Brakes
Lury Baltodano: Very fast service and friendly staffs, highly recommended
No Name: 5 stars awesome staff and skilled. While I only stopped in Portside Truck Repair for a Mass Inspection Renewal for my Mazda, I was met with kindness and professionalism all the way through. I interacted with 3 staff members and every single one was polite with extreme professional. The staff was very diverse and kept a clean shop! I recommend this establishment for inspection renewals and I am sure they do great service work as well. Keep up the excellence folks.
William Calhoun: They got me in right away worked on it consistently 5 or 6 guys fixed everything I wrote up and got me out
A.P.BLACK: Quick service
John Duffy: Got my car inspected here. Fast in and out.
Jack H: ...some of the best mechanics in the business, and I've never seen a cleaner repair shop.
mc: I took my vehicle here for a MA state inspection because I like the no-wait and the glass view that lets you see the work being done. The inspection went well, but this guy casually dropped my vehicle from the jacked position and allowed it to drop 6 inches onto the ground. I had to get the suspension looked at afterwards, thanks bro
Christine Corr: Great service for a state inspection
Bianco Sadler: HORRIBLE COMPANY TO WORK FOR. BE AWARE OF THE HORRIBLE MANAGEMENT AND HORRIBLE PEOPLE/WORKERS THERE.TOXIC ENVIRONMENT, AND EVERYBODY TALKS BEHIND YOUR BACK AND SPREADS RUMORS, AND THINKS THERE BETTER THAN YOU!. STAY AWAY! IF I COULD GIVE ZERO STARS, THEN I WOULD!
Boston Solutions: Took my GMC 3500 to Portside to fix an ongoing low fuel rail pressure issue while towing my trailer uphill. I explained to them that this was the second shop I’ve taken it to and was already $4k into repairs with no resolution. I suspected it could only be injectors or cp3 pump. The guy at the counter was nice and understanding and seemed to listen to all the work I already had performed on the truck (to prevent repeat). He took the keys and said he would let me know what they find, but never took my number down or chief complaint. I politely reminded him and he quickly wrote my number on MY key tag... This was the first time I got a funny feeling about leaving the truck there. The next day I get a call that there was oil in the Intercooler piping and the truck appears to be loosing boost at the connectors. He ordered the parts and would replace on Monday. (Duramax engines are known to leak oil into the intercooler lines and the only way to prevent it is to do a PCV valve reroute which is only a GM recommended fix)... I agreed to the repairs as I’ve seen the pipes and it seemed as replacement could only help.Fast forward to Monday afternoon when I get a call from the tech stating that there was oil in the turbo housing and I would in fact need a new turbo ($3k), new lines, and they will have to drop the transmission to replace it. Quoted me at $5k plus “anything else that might be wrong”, plus labor. Told me I “was better off trading in the vehicle!”I was in shock and told them to put it back together. Told me It would be $850 to get it back. You can watch hundreds of YouTube videos of turbo replacements, and not ONE dropping the trans. It appeared to me that they had no idea what was causing the issues and never even attempted to test the injectors/fuel pump like I had requested.I would have no issue with the price tag if I knew it would be a fuel rail related fix that would likely resolve my issue. But a turbo that has no play, spools up instantly and has little indication of a problem was their first diagnosis? Never even touching the high fuel pressure side of the engine??.. All these people did was jacked up price on parts and exaggerated labor so I would just take my truck back and “trade it in”.I would never recommend Portside unless you have a 8-9 car carrier. All they do is contract work on ‘diversified auto carriers’ truck/trailers as there are hundreds in their yard and bays. They should never advertise to fix anything else.Picked up my truck and the bill magically increased to $981. Another grand into this repair with no resolution. Will never bring my trucks back here.
Srinivasan Venkatachalan: Courteous staff
Jacquelyn C. Foreman: Critical:ProfessionalismThe service was great, they got the job done quickly and efficiently. However, I had a credit card in my center console that was stolen during the process and used later that day. Be cautious of your personal items because not everyone at the shop is trustworthy
Alicia Soucy: They get the job done quickly!
Wayne Waters: I been getting my vehicle repaired here for almost a year now. Fair prices and they get the job done! I wouldn't take my car to anyone else.
Joseph Gonzalez: Great place excellent techs, you could have your inspection done and they have auto mechanics at a good rate.
Troy Denis: They get the job done every time. In a timely manner. Glenn and Randy are two very knowledgeable mecanics.
omah theCool: Great truck repair shop. They deal alot with freightliner and car carriers. Price im not to sure for the trucks. They have a automotive mechanic on site too
Randy Suter: Great people. And that branch manager was the nicest person I ever met.
Lola Bee: I had my inspection sticker done her just a month ago, they were polite friendly and I had no wait. The other day I heard a scraping noise in the back of my car and called Portside, they had me bring it in, offered me a ride home (I live in Charlestown) and called me shortly with an estimate, just about 4 hours later my car was ready. Two male friends told me the prices for labor and parts were reasonable. They are the best, even have a waiting room if you're stuck there with fully stocked vending machines, everyone is curteous and pleasant.
George Walsh: Great truck service I highly recommend them. I drive for a small auto carrier out of Boston there service is great and there prices are even better. George W
