It also has a parking garage so you're not trudging through the rain with soggy items. I'm sure there's room for improvement somewhere but comparing to other stores this had my 5 stars

They should close.(Not to mention that there is no preventive maintenance on the stairs and where the shopping goes down... That's why it's always breaking down.)

Approachable to those who live along the Western-Highland route of the 450 MBTA busline like me.If you know PRECISELY what to shop for and where it is in the store, you can take the bus, get to the store, shop quickly (depending on lines), and be out in time to catch the returning bus (Get a tracking app is my suggestion).The only drawback is that this location NEEDS a self checkout station like the Lynn Walmart. One plus is that there is a Gamestop next door and this Walmart ia fairly well-stocked with some rare surprises like cool boots or RARE DVD's or portable storage batteries for your mobile devices.However, one of the posted pictures is false - this Walmart has NO deli or produce section! The one in Saugus (ON THE HIGHWAY) does and has a SERIOUSLY WELL-STOCKED food section!Now, most WalMarts have self-checkout isles! VERY SMART MOVE considering the lines!

DG DP: I have had the pleasure of being a customer at this Walmart location a few times in the past weeks and I must say that this Walmart set the bar for superior quality customer service. From the greeting smiles as I walked in, to the super leadership of managers Dina, Ellen and Amara, I feel like this Walmart has SO MUCH GOOD going for it! Way to go Walmart Salem. My only complaint is the type of folks who litter disgusting items in the store’s parking lot including used-needles, empty pill bottles, cigarette butts, plastic litter, and furthermore it seems as tho the local city officials do not care enough to prevent troublesome persons from spending the night or daytime there parked while using illegal drugs. This is an issue that is beyond Walmart’s scope of responsibility. That being said, well done Walmart! I hope and pray that the city of Salem, MA gets on the ball and prevents troublemakers from making trouble on the public premises. There are children walking amongst this litter, and I can’t even walk my service dog into the store without fear that he’ll step on someone’s disgusting needle. It’s not about preventing innocent people from staying there (especially overnight passersby) it’s about protecting the integrity of the community and keeping EVERYONE safe. Thanks again Walmart Salem, you’re all All-Stars in my book. May the Good Lord continue to shine a light on all the good deeds and clean friendly service you provided me and the beautiful city of Salem 💜

It's more "whoever can run to it first" open concept.The new layout of the store has some getting used to. I'm still not sure where everything is anymore. The aisles seem a little smaller than they used to be. Only one carriage can get down at a time (especially in the toys).

Natasha Richards: This Walmart is always clean and organized and the staff are actually helpful and friendly. I ran in for a couple quick items early on a Saturday and was in and out rather quickly. Now I won't tell you how many items I purchased today, but it was several bags worth, and I was plenty surprised how much the bill came to. Good surprised I might add. With this changing economy I'm glad I was able to purchase everything we needed plus a few more without breaking the bank.

Christina Y: I went to the Walmart in Quincy, MA on April 28. I checked online and the store closes at 11pm. I went after work and drove almost 30 minutes to make this return. When I got there at 8:50pm, I was waiting in line and there were about 5 workers at returns. One of them told me they are closing soon in a few minutes. I was the only one waiting because a staff member was currently helping a customer. When it was my turn, it was around 8:55pm and this staff member rudely refused to help me do the return. I asked to speak to the manager and she said she was the manager. She was a large Caucasian woman. I am extremely appalled of her attitude and how she refused a return that would've only taken less than 2 minutes to do. I drove almost 30 min and was being treated terribly. I hope that Walmart location does a better job at hiring more competent managers and show better customer service especially a role that is customer service based

The food section is very good despite quitly higher prices than other branches.The sections if hand tools, crafting and cars accessories are very rich in quality goods.The main draw back is the technology section of the computer and mobiles, it is shrinking week after week urging customers to buy online!

Kristina Lang: Was there to purchase many items but I was so unhappy with prices and customer service I barely purchased any on my list!! I was looking at numerous items in the electronics department. I asked two associates to assist me as I had been looking in that department for almost ten minutes without any acknowledgement on their part. They actually said they were busy. I'm in my mid 40s and am not electronic savvy by any stretch of the imagination. I needed a USB thingamajig and they ranged from five to over fifty in price. I had no clue which to purchase. Also I was interested in buying either a notepad, laptop, or a personal computer. I didn't know which I actually needed, don't know if I even said the correct terms!Walmart lost out on a decent sized sale.I usually don't mention sale associates ethnicity but I also had an issue communicating with an employee, she couldn't speak or understand English. I needed to know where the plastic bins were and I received no help.Was really a horrible experience.In the food section I only purchased half the items I intended as your prices were higher than every other store I know.Also the cashier was extremely slow. There was only one other register open, he took care of six customers to her one customer.I would have given even less stars but the other cashier was nice enough to take me after he started closing.This was not my first time negative experience at the store. The only reason I'd ever return would be for an item that was on sale for an unbelievably great price.

Chad Nelson: My last visit (4/14/23) was absolutely horrible, both my father and I went shopping for different items him spray-paint and sand-paper, and I was looking for a fishing rod. For my dad he pretty much waited 20+ minutes to get spray from a locked container. And the fishing rod i settled on seem to be the victim of theft on a "major scale" 6 or 7 fishing rods ALL THE SAME EXACT apparently had ALL the top segments of each rod stolen and there were absolutely no replacement parts for any of them in stock.

Family Matters: First of all, I shop at Walmart way too often to be having to deal with this kind of mistreatment. I went up to the woman named Reina, checking receipts at the door to ask her for help with something, she completely ignored my question and proceeded to check every single item on my receipt and in cart goingover the same items multiple times, while telling everyone else (mainly white) to go ahead around me. Then when I caught on to her prejudice behavior, I asked her again for help and she told me to go ask the customer service desk because she doesn't know. When speaking to a manager,I was told that there have been quite a few complaints about her doing this and I will continue contacting the store until this is addressed. Absolutely ridiculous .

Even though I am a Costco member, I found most items at Walmart to be lesser in price compared to Costco which was hard for me to believe at 1st. Some items are cheaper than Amazon, unbelievable!Their customer service albeit a bit slow is actually quite nice. The best part is you just need the Walmart app to scan any item and see what the price is. No confusion, no second guessing. I haven't seen this kind of honesty and transparency anywhere other than Walmart, so far.

Samantha Maniatakos: Worst Walmart + provider I've ever seen. Walmart + is the grocery delivery service you can subscribe to through the Walmart app. I paid for the year upfront as I had great experience with it in another town. However, this Walmart seems extremely understaffed and accepts more orders than it can handle. Every order is delivered late to my house and last night, when the order was 5 hours overdue, I reached out to general customer support. They explained that the driver canceled on their way to pick up the order, and they never found another driver. The store never reached out in any way to give us information or a solution. Today, we attempted to put in a new order and use curbside pick up. We got the same notification that our order would be delayed. There were dozens of cars waiting for orders and maybe 2 employees who were trying to get them all done. I don't know how much control they have on how many people can sign up for each delivery time, but if they can control this, then this store has horrible service management. Unfortunately, when we inquired about canceling the Walmart + membership, we were told that they are not able to provide refunds, and we are essentially stuck with it. This store's online grocery shopping will not be convenient or save you time. If you live a busy lifestyle and do not want to spend time grocery shopping, waiting at home for hours for deliveries, or waiting in their parking lot for their overworked employees, then I recommend looking elsewhere. I absolutely feel that this store has robbed us of the cost of the membership.
