The dosa was dry and not hot, the only dish I liked was the yogurt rice. Visit this when you don't have options at all. But I would go to a better place.

What a shame. Hope the owner fixes this issue..Very disappointed…

Brian Grabiner: Wonderful Indian food. The aloo tikki (potato cake) was so fresh and delicious. The tandoori chicken is the best I've ever had, and I've eaten at dozens of Indian restaurants over the years. It is fresh, not dry, full of flavor. The onion dosa was superb, wonderfully flavored and the texture was great. Anyone who skips this place is making a mistake. We will DEFINITELY be back!

Chockalingam: A bit shocked with the ratings. We ordered a wide array of dishes and all of them were consistently mediocre and inauthentic. The americans and north Indians probably don’t know better (reflected in the demographics of the 5 star reviews) but the dishes are not prepared in a remotely authentic south Indian fashion, from the kothu parottas to Chicken65 to Hyderabad briyani to eral varuval (it’s not even a varuval!). Sambar vada was average too. Also the spices are not done in a flavorful way, the dishes are spicy as hell just for the sake of being spicy, and this was even when we told them to keep the spice down to accommodate a guest with us.

I did also like the South Indian food (dosa) they serve, they exceeded my expectations. I would recommend dine in rather than take out because the food taste varies. I felt the food was very tasty when had at the restaurant. I’m sure the food will not disappoint you. Parking should not be an issue, they have ample space available.

Smriti Kumar: Ordered mutter paneer and the masala blend was not balanced and it was not fully cooked. Masala NEEDS to be cooked properly and fully. I sucked it up and ate it, but the next day, my body felt horrible. I have intense heartburn, went to the bathroom several times, and just feel icky and awful because of the food. In addition to the uncooked masala, I think they put too much salt in their food, and it seemed to be on the oiler side. It’s restaurants like this that give Indian food a bad name. I can see why someone would be so repulsed. Really disappointed by the food at the place… especially considering how OVERPRICED everything is. But the service was good, no complaints there.

Sanjana Shetty: Being in MA, and having very few good Indian restaurant options, Honest is hands down one of my favorites. Their food is flavorful and sticks to the authenticity of Indian street food. I predominantly eat Pav Bhaji here and 8/10 times, I have been fully satiated and happy.

Karthik Gopal: Samosa salt level was level 10,000. Pav Bahji was also very salty level 9,000. These dishes are made once a week and added salt daily to preserve the dish. If you want fresh go down the street to Priya. But, if you like salt come here. I did not give one star because I called and they will be refunding me for my samosa order. At least they were HonesT.

My experience here is usually positive except for one time when I had to wait for almost 2 hrs to pick up an order which they said would be ready in 20mins. The worst thing was while I waited for pick up, they were taking new orders and saying they would be ready in 20mins while a bunch of us were already waiting for our orders.

Deepak Shinde: Absolutely amazing food. Take it from a real hyderabadi when I say the food here comes very close to home.The service is also good. I ordered goat curry, strawberry banana lassi, and shrimp coconut curry via Grubhub. Regrettably, the food not only failed to meet my expectations but left me feeling angry and disappointed.Starting with the goat curry, I was appalled by the quality of the meat. It was mostly bones, with very little actual meat to be found. The dish lacked the rich, tender chunks of goat that one would anticipate in a well-prepared curry. I could hardly enjoy my meal as I had to navigate around the numerous bones, which should never be the case for such a dish.The shrimp coconut curry was similarly disappointing. The flavors were muted, and the overall taste was underwhelming. I expected a rich, creamy, and aromatic coconut curry, but it seemed as though the chef had skimped on crucial ingredients, leaving the dish lacking in depth and complexity.The strawberry banana lassi, which should have been a refreshing and fruity drink, was far from it. The consistency was off, and the flavor balance was skewed. The lassi was too sweet, with an overpowering artificial strawberry taste, masking the natural sweetness of the bananas.The only positive aspect of my experience was the delivery through Grubhub, which was prompt and reliable. However, the food itself left me feeling extremely unsatisfied, and I doubt I will be ordering from Food Shines Lowell again. I hope the restaurant takes this feedback to heart and improves its quality and preparation in the future, but for now, I cannot recommend this establishment to anyone seeking a delicious and enjoyable meal.

siddanth rai: I’m a big fan of their pan fried momo’s, it’s very tasty. I usually prefer the shrimp momo. Over all they are the best when it comes to momos. The Momo dip is very tasty, but they give it in a very small quantity, you have to pay to order more. I tried their coconut chicken gravy, it’s really good. It goes very well with rice. Chicken wings is average, I found it to be slightly salty. I would recommend placing the orders on their website, it’s cheaper. The restaurant is on the main road and they do have parking behind the building.

Dauphine Kimani-Thigpen: Friendly and attentive staff! Absolutely amazing food! I had the Vege Jhol MoMo, and the Pork Peppered MoMo. The Jhol MoMo was perfectly steamed in a delicate sauce. The pork peppered MoMo had a great seasoned crust that cradled a well seasoned pork nugget. My husband had the Shrimp Chili MoMo that was smothered in a sweet Chili sauce. We both shared the Vegetable Samosas that came with a great sauce. The Mango Lassi hit the spot before during and after the meal! Will definitely be making another special trip to this great find!

For anyone who has had steam momo you know it’s not how it should be.If this was not enough, jhol momo was served with the same sauce but in the same container as momo itself. The problem is not only was the container filled with close to no sauce, it actually was not even the sauce that is suppose to make it “jhol” momo.I don’t write reviews ever but hey I feel duped into believing I was getting what was being told. Momo itself was ok. Maybe they didn’t have the sauce that day. Will I ever go again despite being a minute away from where I live? Nope. Had high hopes therefore am on a high rant right now.

Slevin P: As a warning, you can possibly develop an upset stomach, constipation and diarrhea from eating here.I ordered a chicken vindaloo meal from this restaurant in June of 2021 and quickly developed these aforementioned symptoms, along with continuous belching (burping) and heartburn. I couldn’t cannot stop burping. I was struggling to rid myself of these symptoms, and it forced me to consult my primary care doctor and a gastroenterologist.These symptoms might be the result of the spices used in my meal, which were mild, but it could also be the result of an infection or food poisoning. Please note that I’ve been eating spicy Indian cuisine from other restaurants for years and never had this issue.Nevertheless, I cannot recommend this restaurant in good faith. Proceed at your own risk, as it could be detrimental to your gastrointestinal health. You’ve been warned.

Ravikishor Kumar: This place was a pitstop for us while we were on our way to New Hampshire. They have a variety of dishes on their menu along with some pure vegetarian options. Notable dishes from our visit were the sandwiches (yummiest) with adequate spice. The kids loves theirs too with mild spice too. The service was excellent with no wait time. We’ve heard that the place gets pretty crowded but there were very few people when we arrived and our order was served really quick. Overall, a pretty good experience!

Fiona Ehring: I went for Sunday buffet with my kids. The food was just ok. They charged us $25 per person. Even my 10 yo who basically ate a plate of rice and a fried thing. Service was not great. I had to go up to the bar to ask for the check as our server seemed to have an aversion to paying attention to a female customer conspicuously waving her hand. For three people to eat, two mango lassis and tip the total came out to $100. I don’t usually write bad reviews but I’m still kind of fuming about the whole experience. Should have gone to Priya. I will actively recommend that people stay away from Madras Grill in Chelmsford.

AD: I tried chicken chettinad the other day. I had same dish a few months ago and it was great but I didn’t like what I tried yesterday. Ratio of chicken pieces vs curry leaves vs actual curry was way off. Less curry to eat and chicken pieces and curry leaves covered the most part. Taste was okay but nothing like what I had tried before. There are good South Indian restaurants around and I would expect good entree if I am paying $18. I don’t think I’ll try anything at this restaurant again.

Adithi Rao: Visited this place for buffet ,Had lot of exceptions on weekend buffet . Tried everything but it wasn’t great though the food is not the fresh and i’m basically a desert person but wouldn’t recommend this place for desserts.I’m totally disappointed and paid more than 100$ for the food which I didn’t like it , but I would like to give one more shot if the quality of food is improved.

P L: The website for this restaurant says buffet during lunch but when we went on a Thursday there was no buffet. More than half the menu items were not available. The restaurant has the word MADRAS in it but the south Indian food was unpalatable. We ordered 2 different kinds of Dosa- paper dosa was as thick as the normal dosa; masala dosa had potato sabzi with raw green peas and raw turmeric. The sambar that came with these dosas was atrocious - watery dal with red chili powder added. We have never had south Indian food with no coconut chutney in it. A yogurt based chutney and tomato chutney were served with our dosas. Never going back again.

Edward Holland: Went here again. Excellent flavors. They no longer do seafood other than shrimp so they must have had supply issues. Still somewhat spicy but less so than a lot of othere Indian restaurants. We ate there. Service is fine, friendly. Could use a little polish like clearing away things before bringing more but no real issues.This was a take out order. Overall the food was very good. Good flavors, decent portions. As with many Indian restaurants it is somewhat spicy but not too much so. My biggest complaint was my own dish, curried mussels. We live in New England and local fresh mussels are readily available. The menu clearly states that the dish will be made with Prince Edward Island mussels. It actually used new Zealand green mussels that tasted like they had been in the freezer too long. Based on my dish I would have given a one star rating, but the rest of the food would be 4 or 5 star. Very extensive and varied menu.
