DGuzman83: I booked with root of design on APRIL 1st, 2022 and sent in my deposit same day for a baby shower I was hosting on JUNE 11th, 2022. To make a long story short on JUNE 6th, 5 days prior to the event I received a text saying that the event hall was uninhabitable due to some water damage and AC malfunction. The owner offered to help me find another event hall and also offered to send me pictures of her back yard that she was willing to “rent” to us………none of those 2 things happened. When I asked for my deposit, which she had never even offered to reimburse me, I was told I had to wait because she was out of town. I had to send a request for payment via Apple Pay to remind them that I needed my money back ASAP. I eventually got my deposit back. I very much understand that things happen that are out of one’s control but the owner showed no sense of responsibility or empathy for the fact that with only a 5 day notice, especially during graduation/wedding season, that finding another location was going to be a mission impossible. They never even offered accommodate us at a later date.
