The Butterfly Place: what do users think?
Dedee Greenleaf: Lots of fun. Smaller than I thought it would be but worth the visit. I followed the guidelines and wore bright colors and had several butterflies land on me🦋
Amber D: Place was beautiful but definitely not worth the $14 entry. Once you're in with the butterflies, you can see everything right infront of you, tiny tiny place. Looks great but I only really needed 15 minutes and I was ready to go because I saw everything
Deana T: Peaceful and enjoyable break from the "noise" of daily life. Nice for kids & adults
Krystal Thompson: Small but well maintained and the butterflies are beautiful. There's an educational center where you can observe butterflies and caterpillars and a botanical garden area. It took us about an hour total.
Judy Brown: One of my favorite places to go. Very peaceful to watch the butterflies flutter around
Lisa Costanzo: I love the butterfly place soooo much. Thank you for keeping it going and letting families enjoy.
Aram Topian: great place
Lugo The Only One: Bonito clima, muchas mariposas y otros animales. Bueb espacio para picni, un río y buen estacionamiento.
Laura Sievert: It was amazing the size of some of the butterflies they were the size of a small bird and so beautiful.
Casey Clarke: Small, but a great spot to kill some time looking at the butterflies! My 11 month old was a good age because she was happy to be carried around and not wanting to touch too much, but a child that is walking and between 1-3 might be tough to keep interested. I saw elementary aged kids there though too that LOVED seeing how many butterflies they could find from a chart they give you!
June Cleaver: Peaceful beautiful can’t wait to go again
M C: Seeing the butterflies flying around, staying on the leaves were very pleasing. A very fun place to visit. The quails running around are so cute
Bobby Thompson: Great for a quick day trip very educationalRestrooms: CleanPicnic area: Outside facilities
Kelsie: Beautiful establishment filled with butterflies and botanical life. Worth the trip to support them!
M Christian: I’ve been coming here since I was a child. It’s a joy to bring my little one, now! I’m not sure about accessibility re:mobility devices given the size of the paths, but it is always clean and well-kept and the staff is always exceedingly pleasant. Great for photos!
Janine Kunz: Went here with friends to escape the snow. Inside was warm and a tiny bit magical. We loved watching the butterflies and tiny quail that marched around the space. I was surprised just how many butterflies there were and the wide variety. Reasonably priced.Restrooms: Access via the lobbyPicnic area: Outside, mulched.
Bass Man: This is our second time here. We took our kids and 13 year old grandson this time. Everyone loved it. It is a very relaxing immersive environment. You walk through a living butterfly terrarium. There are many species of butterflies that fly around you while you walk through the plants, and pools, with relaxing music in the background. There are also some small birds, and a few fish in the pool. Outside the terrarium they have some cool caged insects and frogs on display. A great take in. The only negative is it can get hot on a very hot day.
Jon C: Great place to visit, relaxing and very informative exhibit!
Michelle Archer: A friend said they wanted to go, I checked the website. I'm very disappointed it's so expensive so we won't be visiting.
Ron Nourse: Awesome place
Rachel Yu: I used to visit this place as a child, and it's been decades since I've stopped by. My mom was visiting and we wanted something different to do for the day. This is such a perfect place to spend an hour, relaxing and taking in the beautiful sights. There were so many butterflies flying everywhere, and little fat birds that we found out later were Chinese painted quails. They were so cute! It started to get a bit busy after we were there for about 45 minutes, so I suggest if you want the place to yourself, to go when they open and preferably on a weekday. It was such a peaceful and enjoyable experience and well worth the money spent!

Acton Arboretum: what do users think?
Tami G.: Beautiful place to walk around and be one with Nature. From the different gardens to explore, flowers, trees and 1.5 mile trail through the woods and over a bog with benches all along the way. Admission is free also.
Victoria M: Gorgeous and peaceful place to unwind or walk your dog. I absolutely love having picnics there in the summer. Just a note a fair number of people have their dogs unleashed so if you or you child are fearful of dogs it probably isn’t the best place to go.
Chi B: Beautiful place to easily walk around. I've been a few times and while there are people there, it never seems to be crowded. Great place for a picnic (they have tables/chairs near entranceway) or to take photos. I painted a picture there for my brother-in-law as he and his (now) wife went there during COVID. Place also has a mini library to take/leave books there.
Gaurav Khanna: Lovely place to connect with nature. Well maintained main trail with others to explore as well.
Connie Mashock: Exquisite. Paved paths. Labeled species from all over the globe. Separate gardens of herbs, bogs, lovely lovely, lovely.
Shelby Dona: This is the best place if you like walking in the woods.
Julia Antonov: Beutiful trail
Marzena Ania Bulejcik, Realtor: A lovely place to bring your family and meet with friends. Pets are welcome ❣️Dog-friendliness: Well behaved pets are welcome 😁Picnic area: Multiple picnic tables and seating benches are available throughout the park.
tina nguyen: Love the views❤️good place for walking & feels relaxing.
Greg Ferraro: Well maintained paths, good amount of parking. Great for family photos!!
Steven Mahoney: Unfortunately I went much later in the season, I can only imagine what it looks like at its peak. Will definitely be going back. Very manageable distance for a hike. My only complaint is the parking lot is very small.
Kerry McDonnell: This place is beautiful! It is handicap accessible, including tables that have wheelchair space. We went in September so some flowers not in bloom but would be magnificent in the summer/spring! Beautiful trees and well kept. Fun place to go for picnic and with young kids!
Ivan Pautov: Great place to visit
happylioneatsprey: A lovely green oasis in a small, former agricultural town. Easy footpaths weave around the area with plenty of benches, areas for bird watching, and small water ways. There is a decent sized parking lot and a port-a-potty for visitors. It's a serene spot to unwind and enjoy nature any time of the year.
Matthew Higgins: This was a beautiful park and a fun walk for this area.
Maria George: Beautiful and peaceful
Donald Smead: Wonderful gardens.
Kimberly Poirier: Beautiful public gardens. Definitely a favorite spot for dog walking. Beware of the occasional "pile" if your walking through the grass, I guess not all owners are responsible with picking theirs up. But an overall beautiful and relaxing place to take a walk
Shari Horan: lovely little surprise in downtown Acton....dog friendly easy enough for elderly or small children, picnic tables and beautiful flora!!
Sharon P: Lovely. They have a butterfly area🦋🦋 It's very well kept
Ron B: This Acton site is so beautiful..nature is everything and the Arboretum is a wonderful place..

Garden in the Woods: what do users think?
Parker Summers: Pretty good, but I find that some of the statues break from the immersion of nature.
Anastas Dancha: A lovely spot for a romantic stroll. Excellent ground for mushrooming.
Ben Rawitz: So impressed with Garden in the woods. My 4 year old loved it here. Great education. So we’ll maintained. Fun adventure! We’ll be back
Maddie Anderson: Maybe the best place to be at 10 on a day with nice weather. Also, fall is not to be missed! Take some time to appreciate native foliage in your own backyard.
Jen Curtis: This is a nice place to take a walk if you enjoy peace and nature. But if you're passionate about native plants--or have a strong interest in ecology or conservation--it is the most magical place in the world. My husband and I spent hours here even though the trails are fairly limited. There's just so much to see and so many places to sit and listen. Keep the good work, Garden of the Woods volunteers! It's not easy to maintain such a thriving native woodland these days and your efforts are appreciated.
Robbie Grant: A beautiful, well maintained garden with many trails. If you don't stop to admire all the plants, you can walk through all the trails in about an hour. $16 might sound pricey to some but it is probably going to conservation efforts. They also have a lovely gift shop and education center.
Marge Amster: Love the variety of native plants - nice trail.
Bill Christian: Excellent example of plants in their natural environment
Liana Lemke: Lovely woodland garden with well maintained walking paths. Great native plant shop to buy anything that caught your eye, plus a cafe and gift shop. Highly recommended!
Dillon Siewert: This garden is not only stunningly beautiful, but also serves an incredibly important purpose as the location of the headquarters of Native Plant Trust, which is an organization dedicated to educating the public about the power of native plants to restore our ecosystems.A must see for anyone who wishes to bring healing to our earth or simply wants a moment of true peace in the beauty and stillness of nature!
Roy: A hidden gem in the middle Framingham. A beautiful botanical garden focused in the conservation of native flora.
Olivia Greene (Ollie): I visited Garden in the Woods for the first time in April. Although not much was in bloom, it was still a very lovely experience. I loved seeing all the little turtles in the pond, and all the plants, tree’s and flowers that were in season. All the trails were well kept, and it was very clean. One of the trails that goes off the main path over the little spring was so peaceful. We just set on the tiny bridge over the spring and listened to the water trickle. The gift shop was very cute and the employee’s were kind and informative. I am definitely going to visit again soon.
Arpan D: Calm, peaceful and a wonderful place to hang out. Beautiful greenery with decent walking trails. Be sure to visit if you want a relaxing park with some good photo spots. I've loved my walk every time here. One of my favorite weekend spots!
Edward Ostrowski: Great walk in the woods.
Kathleen Fisher: Beautiful! Found amazing native plants I had never seen before. Bought a few and memberships for family. Fun day!
Uma Sankar Sekar: Looking lovely now with the trilliums in bloom.
Daria Shcherbakova: Amazing park, great short trails. We also spot dozens of turtles 😍
Richard Fichter: Did not go there....
Alissa Dougherty: It was a nice walk but, for the ticket price, I expected a lot more and for this to be well maintained. Nature is doing a good job maintaining the plants on its own... If there was an audio tour (which based on the signage, I assume there was...) we weren't told about it or how to access it. It would have been nice to know more about the plants we were looking at.
Bertha Tang: Beautiful gardens and woods, friendly knowledgeable staff, great plants for sale, affordable membership.
Brandon Smyth: Inspiring natural walking paths

Taras Legar: Красивый бесплатный парк Есть выходы к воде красивое здание колледжа рекомендую для прогулки. Мы не успели попасть в оранжерею но не есть также есть музей
Cecile Braun-Jones: Beautiful space w accessible paths. Pretty pond. Stopped there for a walk and a bite to eat early morning.Weekend parking available on campus.
Emily L: I went here on my birthday in early February, and it is everything I could have hoped for. The air is warm and humid, and there are all manner of unusual and tropical plants, mostly labeled. I wish I had time to take some of the courses mentioned on the bulletin boards.

Gretchen Rasmich Haddad: Wonderful place
Shannon: Second time at Winter Lights. First visit was in 2019. This year's layout was quite nice, as was being able to tour a bit of the home. A great, winter/holiday events to enjoy with family.
Susie Brooks: A wonderful Christmas light display. I liked the times tickets so it wasn't crowded. You could spend as much time as you liked, even go through again. I would like hot chocolate and cider options next year.
aleksandra kudin: Beautiful Christmas lights, but expected a little more
Irishman travelling: Big lights show on for Christmas. Worth a visit and walk around
Kimberly Sapienza: They were spectacular this year!!! The staff outdid themselves. Loved it! 🎄🎄
Matt Greil: Experienced Winter Lights for the first time and I can't wait to go back next year!! But I would honestly want to check out the Gardens when it's not the winter and head up there in the Spring! It'd be great place to walk around and lounge out on the grass fields.
RoadTrip NewEngland: Looking for a holiday stroll on the North Shore? Check out #Winterlights at The Trustees Steven-Coolidge House and Gardens in North Andover. Starts this Friday after #Thanksgiving, and runs each week from Wednesday to Sunday through January 7th (4:30-8pm) Advanced/timed tickets required so check out The Trustees website for more info #winterlights #tistheseason🎄
Ryuichi Gray: Used to frequent this place for years until 2 years ago they started charging admission. Shaking my head. This WAS a public place to enjoy for everyone and now they closed off the parking lot in the front and made it "for trustees only" which is only ever 1/3 full. Luckily they made parking available in the back but still charge you for admission to this public garden. Smh the hypocrisy. Coolidge would be ashamed if he was alive to see this.Oh yeah they also added a bunch of abstract art sculptures, interpret them however you please. This used to be a free family friendly area that brought the community together. Now its just a rich people only circle jerk.
Scott Lewis: Nice variety of gardens. Didn't get to tour the house as we arrived about when it closed for the day. Hoping to get back there soon.
Rebecca Ainscow: This is a park. Why on earth are the Trustees charging admission? That is unethical. The outdoors are for everyone, and should be free, or at the very least affordable. What used to be a fun, welcoming park, frequented by families, children, and many people from urban communities who would come up in the evenings for a picnic dinner, has been turned into a place which "closes" at 6pm and doesn't open until 10 or 11 am. There is a visitor center full of junk, ugly sculptures, and overdone gardens. They have completely abandoned the ideal of being an accessible, welcoming, outdoor community space. Get over yourselves! We don't want weird sculptures or a visitor center, we just want outdoor spaces to enjoy.Meanwhile, in their (seemingly endless) smug hypocrisy, they are claiming to become more inclusive and diverse. By making it more difficult for people to visit!? And putting up barriers for low income people to visit? This is why I didn't renew my membership last year. You've lost your way.
Stewart Woodward: If you haven’t been to the Stevens Coolidge house and garden grounds in North Andover Massachusetts lately it’s well worth a trip to see the improvements trustee have made to this beautiful property. As we arrived in the new parking lot we were able to walk right up to the new visitor center and gift shop. The signs were both in Spanish and English which we were glad to see. The gardens are very nice. I particularly liked the beach tree tunnel a work in progress. I look forward to seeing it in about 5 to 10 years. ( see photos) Lots of sculptures and perennial gardens. My favorite spot was the beautiful bench in the shade to sit and enjoy the ambience. Definitely stop by and see this property today. We’re so happy that we’re members of the trustees of the reservation so entrance to the grounds was free. Join today and support this important nonprofit.
