Fanuel Muindi: Great overall experience In the water. Would return. One area of improvement could be staff communication given the physical separation between the main tent and the boat launch area. At the moment, there is a high probability for disconnect between staff which could lead to confusion regarding boat changes etc. would also recommend articulating carefully to customers who have groupons of all the limitations from the get go. Otherwise, great place.

Zaurie Zimmerman: Wonderful, long-time family-owned place to rent a kayak or canoe. Knowledgeable owners, helpful friendly staff and great equipment. On a gorgeous river with lovely and historic scenery both upriver and downriver. Best rental place to enjoy a paddle until sunset.
Herb Philpott: Cash only! And not cheap, but a wonderful way to see Concord in a canoe or kayak.
Tim KENNEDY: River is a bit low due to drought but still a lot of fun and wonderful wildlife viewing opportunities.
Tristan Cunha: This is a great place to rent a canoe or kayak, they're probably twice as good as most boat rental places. They're super friendly and there's lots of employees to help get you set up. And the river is beautiful.Just remember that it's cash only.
Cindy Yu: Great spot for renting a canoe or kayak. It is cash only. We rented a canoe for $20/hr and did the longer trek from the boathouse to Fairhaven Bay. It took about 2.5 hours on a sunny day with a bit of a headwind. Saw plenty of herons and birds along the way.

Mark Scerra: Although a local person, the boathouse seemed more for tourists and I'm happy to say i was mistaken. I had a kayaking friend in town and we rented twice, first day we started upstream, and second day downstream. On each occasion, the young staff were helpful and friendly, and willing to offer thoughts on which way to venture. Starting upstream allows for a less crowded paddle, more peaceful scenery and an easier return. Enjoy the paddle!
Lisa Chakalos Maibor: This is a great place to rent kayaks. Our daughter was home for a visit. We have 2 kayaks and needed a 3rd. Staff was was very helpful. Even helped my husband unload our kayaks off the car. Just a lovely spot to paddle. Check it out!
Andrew Halloran: We took our 5 and 6 year old kids out on the river and this place had just what we needed for our Kayak/Canoes. Great views of Concord, bridges, historical sites, and wildlife. Staff was friendly and explained the different options. Everything was provided and they didn't charge us a full hour, only partial, when we went over by 15 minutes.Thank you!!!

Nathan Costa: Super rude young lady, my first ever experience with a Karen, boats are in poor condition not worth the money in my opinion… there was human waste (the smelly kind) and dirty wet wipes in the launch area absolutely unacceptable.

Steven Y.: Great afternoon yesterday - CJ was extremely helpful and patient on the dock; my daughter was very anxious about getting in and out of the canoe, and he took the time to make her feel comfortable. Rates are very reasonable - $20/hour for 2-person canoe, cash only - and they do partial hours too, which works out well if you have small kids who can't last a full 2 or 3 hours. River views are beautiful, too. We saw lots of turtles, herons, a muskrat and other wildlife. Highly recommend.
Michelle Koren: The place is nice, however the owner was pretty rude and didn't seem like he wants customers.When we hesitated how many boats to take and which kind, he started raising his voice and was very mad at us.The young guys that operated the place with him were great, but his behaviour gave a bad taste to the whole experience.We won't go back there unfortunately.

Pack you a lunch and set off towards the north bridge for some beautiful views and take in the wildlife! Mary Shannon: We've had a season pass here for several years and the location can't be beat. However, the equipment is in poor repair and literally unusable in certain cases - we had counted on being able to access a specific type of kayak, and they had ONE working one - the other ones were all broken (and it was in use, meaning a family member couldn't even participate). It's a shame that they can't or won't invest in their equipment.

A Gadre: The staff are wonderful. Spot Pond Lake is a wonderful place to Kayak. We plan on going more often and will probably get a pass for 2023.
Andy Philpotts: First time dinghy sailing, so I took a private lesson here. I really enjoyed it, and learnt a lot. Sailing is limited at Spot Pond so there is masses of space to make your newbie mistakes, the water is clean, and the instructor I had was great. I will be back for another lesson real soon!

Logan: This review is written during the COVID-19 pandemic (August 2020). The safety precautions Boating in Boston at Spot Pond took to ensure our wellbeing and have as little interaction with other customers was impressive. This place has a great plan in place and I felt very comfortable signing in and getting my reserved kayak so I could enjoy a beautiful summer afternoon at Spot Pond. Super glad to have a place like this so close to home (Melrose, MA).
