Meredith Beck: The area each cat gets is actually really nice. The only downside is their latest pickup time is at 6 so plan accordingly. We planned on getting there at 5 but because of Thanksgiving traffic we arrived at 5:58 and had to look all over for the employees. Like I had to walk to the back to find them. But they were nice about us getting there so late.

Raya: They wasted over an hour of my time over the pone scheduling the grooming appointment for my dogs. The only thing they didn't ask is what color of underwear my dogs are wearing. Seriously. And all this just to call me a day before a scheduled appointment to cancel it because apparently their call center didn't know that they don't do grooming on Saturday.What a lousy and chaotic handling of your business
Jessica Maurer: I called to set up an interview/tour for doggy daycare for my 8 month old pitbull with separation anxiety. I was told that they weren't sure if pitbulls were allowed but that they would ask and call me back in an hour or so. I never received a call so the next day I called to ask about it and was told that they allowed pitbulls in daycare but not to play with other dogs. So my dog, with separation anxiety, would be by himself, all day. And this was without an interview to see how sweet and gentle he is. (He even lived in a foster home with several other dogs of all breeds and ages and his best friend was a little piglet.) It blows my mind that a place for dogs is discriminatory towards certain breeds.

I was nervous because of some of the reviews, but we had business travel and last minute Rover.com cancellation, and they where able to accommodate him. We where able to watch him play through the webcams all day, and when we called to check on him they answered and gave us a full update every time. When the need comes we will define using them again.

Nate Farrer: other recent reviews are accurate when it comes to changes. my dog is usually just fine going to the groomers or boarding, including at best friends in the past, but this time he was scared to death when I dropped him off on Friday and that was very unnerving. I asked to change his pickup from Mon to Sun because of this, and later on after talking with my wife I decided I was overreacting and called to change it back to Monday. As others have stated, I just got voicemail and I never received a call back despite asking for one to confirm. When I arrived for pickup Sunday morning, there was a note to call to get helped and I called and called and no one answered, despite the guy in the dog daycare area clearly seeing me standing there. Then upon pickup, all my dogs toys I left with him were in a Tupperware up front with his food and leash. Isn't the point of leaving toys so they have them when they're alone? I understand there's a staffing shortage, and the woman that did finally help me was very pleasant, but I will be finding a new place for a while.
Robyn Tarr: I had been bringing our two dogs there for 10 years without problems. Prior management with Jason Becky and crew were great. The last month without warning management and crew resigned. I Gave new management three weeks to get their act together. I went beyond that and Tuesday August 17 i picked my dog's up to find out that they hadn't been given the lunch or snacks I provided. They had been there nine hours.All I got for excuse was I'm sorry. I'm pretty sure with a staff of two people they cannot give adequate care to our petsI'm pretty sure dogs are being crated. Previously web cams showed dogs playing. The new management Webcam did not show dogs playingThe placed smelled of urineThe phones aren't being answered I couldn't even leave message mail box was always fullThere was a sign up front saying call a phone. we are out backI will not bring our dogs back even though we've prepaid for some servicesI've talked to several other people who feel the same way about new management
Janet LeClair: We have been taking our dog to Best Friends in Tyngsboro for about 5 years. She goes to day camp and has boarded several times without issue. The recent change in management came as a surprise and I feel it would have been good PR to inform their current clients. Since they have taken charge I’ve noticed an unpleasant odor in the lobby, staff is less friendly and I have felt uneasy leaving our girl there. When I picked Ginger up this past Friday, her underside was soaked and filthy with what smelled like swamp and feces! It was so disgusting I couldn’t get home fast enough to bathe her. We will not be going back there. Now looking for recommendations for daycare and boarding .
David Tarr: we have had two dogs here for years change in staff has been horrible, our dogs weren't fed, they came out panting like never before. most of the good staff have left. they are severely understaff. we will be contact the board of health and ask if they can check the safety of the facility for the dogs. smells like never before. wife talked to staff, they can't get help (but they keep on taking in the dogs)
Eileen Grenham: We boarded our dog for the first time when we went on vacation. I specifically asked that his nails be cut and that he be groomed. Neither was done. I looked at the pet cams twice a day for a week and not one dog was outside. Apparently, he had diarrhea for the entire week and we were not informed until we picked him up. When they brought him out he looked catatonic. He was painfully thin and smelled awful. He looked as if he had been medicated. Very sad our dog was treated so poorly. We had a beach getaway planned for early summer (booked a year in advance) and had no idea what to do with our (then 13 week old) kitten. I searched online and immediately found all of the glowing reviews for Cat’s Pajamas - I’m so glad! I spoke with Patty on the phone and she eased all of my worries about leaving our baby Leo with her.We boarded Leo for the week we were away and he was the happiest boy when we picked him back up! He is a very needy kitten (needs lots of attention and cries if he doesn’t get it), so I was worried about leaving him - but no need to worry with Patty! Patty made sure to have him out for playtime regularly and sent us lots of pictures to keep us updated. Leo absolutely loved her! Plus, Patty even allowed us to bring our non-clumping litter for her to use during the week, since Leo was still too young for regular clumping (if you’ve ever used it, you know non-clumping litter can be a pain, but Patty didn’t even bat an eye at the inconvenience of it!). We left Leo with her again at the end of the summer for a last minute weekend trip and received the same 5-star treatment! We love Patty and can’t recommend The Cat’s Pajamas Inn highly enough!

But the strongest recommendation I can give is that every time I stop by, every cat in her home is relaxed, healthy, clean, and happy.

She had a nice large condo for each kitty, kept the litter box sparkling clean, and also offered a nice kitty playground for each cat to have some time to run off some energy! Her rates are more than fair, she often would wash Cocoa's blanket for him...and she is just all around a great caregiver. Huge plus that she volunteers at a shelter too! True love for animals!

Jeannette Ruiz: My dog was there for five (5) days. I was worried the whole time because I didn't receive any pictures or updates and I never saw him on their surveillance cameras. When I picked him up, he smelled and looked terrible. As soon as we got home he peed for about a minute non-stop!! I've never seen him pee for that long before. That alone told me the type of treatment he received at this place. Never again!!
Paul Biz: I used to work at Best Friends. Overall I loved it! I was looking for a good job that I could work with animals in particular dogs. The problem I had working there was the constant revolving door of employees including managers. I can firmly say that Best Friends treats their pets excellently and I would bring a pet here if I had one. However I had trouble as an employee with the professionalism of the staff. it became extremely frustrating not knowing sometimes what ur hours were going to be that week. It made it impossible to make appointments or make other plans as ur schedule would always change. Working their was a great experience!! but, right now I am happy at my new job! overall I would give this place 2 stars. Who knows though that could change. someday.
Kristen O: We boarded our 2.5 year old hyper, anxious but loving lab here for the first time. Drop-off was a little hectic, but the staff was wonderful. When we picked him up after his stay, he was happy, clean and calm. I was a little nervous leaving him, so I emailed/called a few times to check in and the staff was responsive, kind, understanding and assured me that my pup was doing great! A few things to note - although they do have cameras on some of the floors, they aren't on all of the floors. They have a grooming option on pick up day that is reasonably priced and the groomer does a great job. We are very happy with the quality of service and we will definitely be returning!
Kristen Grant: I have called this place 6 times over a 3 month period and filled out their request for a tour 2 times, NEVER GOT CALLED BACK. They did manage to get me on their email list though!We are going away for 7 days and I need pet accommodations. This would have been a substantial amount of money, one would think that might motivate them into returning my call as requested, but nope.Not professional, not able to even be polite enough to call or email me back.This business cannot do something this simple as return a call then I can't imagine them caring for our pet. Sad

Emily: We recently took our dog to Best Friends Pet Hotel in Wakefield Massachusetts for two weeks. Prior to leaving her for two weeks we took her one day for daycare and she loved it. She was super tired so we thought it was a good fit. We also liked that they said they keep track of everything, had 24 hour cameras and a vet really close by. When we dropped our dog off they told us we would get pictures every seven days and an update. We called maybe four days into our vacation to get an update because she had not seen her on the cameras and they told up everything was well and they would send some pictures the next day. We never got any pictures even a week later. So we emailed them because we still did not see her on the camera and they said she was doing well and they would send pictures the next day. We are back home now and no pictures or was she ever on the camera. We check every day multiple times a day. We asked why we didn’t get any pictures and they said “You didn’t get them.” We paid to get a groom the day we were picking her up that included her nails dremeled a bath and a ear cleaning. Her ears were cleaned but I could have done better and I’m not a groomer, her nails didn’t even look cut and she smelt awful. After we had got home we were able to get a better look at her and she had cuts all over her body. Some of them looked like they happened recent and we never got any call that something like this happened. I saw over 5. Her paws have also been really red and super tender to touch. Please don’t bring your dog here!
Amber 7593: We brought our dog to the Wakefield location for 2 weeks while we went on vacation. The website says the dogs can be seen on the livestream at certain times, we checked several times a day over many days and never saw our dog. When we reached out they claimed they had so many dogs and therefore they could not all be in the same room and on camera. The issue was that we saw the same couple of dogs on the livestream. Secondly they promised to send pictures every 7 days. We never got to see pictures of our dog. When we reached out about this issue they kept saying they would send them but never did. We had no idea how our dog was doing. We picked her up today and she seems thinner than when we dropped her off. I absolutely do not recommend bringing your dog here for a longer period of time. Never bringing our dog back here again!
Jennifer Allaire: I will NEVER leave my cats with this garbage pet hotel again and have also never written a review EVER so that shows how absolutely disgusted I am with these people. THEY DID NOT FEED MY CATS FOR TWO DAYS! I'm so glad they were not there longer. I got back nearly all the food I brought so basically they fed them 1 time in 5 feedings. My cats were freaking out and starving when I got them back. I can't believe the manager doesn't care enough to call me back, that's horrible. Your weekend staff didn't feed my cats and you don't feel that's important? You endangered my cats, maybe you should work in a different field where you're not responsible for the lives of pets. I'm so glad they were not there longer.I find it interesting that in your replies to people you say that you take customer satisfaction very seriously. I have called you 3 times and emailed you 2 times in 2 days and I have not heard back from your manager you said would call me back about my very serious concern.

Rich Laws: I can't say enough nice things about Camp Countryside. I have a 5 year old Corgi, Sadie, who has been a "camper" since she was 1. I love that she comes home exhausted from a full day of play. The staff has changed a bit over the years but the management of the camp remains consistently attentive to safety, health and fun. Large and small dogs have their own separate areas and the dogs are assessed for personality to make sure all dogs have safe fun. Cait C. - the current manager - takes pet care very seriously, hires and manages a great staff, and is extremely accessible for any questions or concerns. I can't imagine not having CC as an option for Sadie.

Td D: Hi fur-children parents! Ive very sick, my Dr's on test result called me aft.hrs. to say I needed to go inpatient urgently for treatment. "No, I can't I've my Serv.Animal" and I wouldnt be able to take him out of hospital room for walks" Dr: You don't understand you need to go in!Knowing the extreme affects of my condition-I still refused but promised, Promised my doctors I'd go in 1ce a caretaker found. I remembered this buisiness but not name or other.I called too many and e-mailed the "Internet Ads" for local caregivers-None out of dozens could do a several day straight plan., and some said yes and then bailed out the day before we agreed for them to come.I searched memory and remembered F & T when I met them, gave me there card..it was on a fridge under magnet (the magnet is my dogs likeness) I reached out in agony/distress as it was now 6 days beyond medical needs...Fast forward, a couple of texts, a phone call from F & T and she came and helped me, gave Love & Care to my bff, my helper, my Buddy..and I then only then went overnight for urgent procedures...Some said they would have "kenneled or pet-hoteled" there dog, I said "No-way, I'll never leave anyone behind!" My dog is my lifeline, Regina said "You need to take care of you, so you can take care of him!"She then said, I got this, whilsdt' securing "Precious cargo", I turned from her and "Lil Buddy" quickly as I didnt want them to see me cry.Real men don't cry, "and pigs don't fly!" That night in hospital, I got a selfie of Buddy wrapped in his fav.blanket, with F & T staff smiling face to face with him. That message/photo were "medicinal". The great discomfort I had during treatment suddenly hurt less, and I could get the rest needed.I can't speak to other reviews or experience however I Can speak to the outmost Passion, Compassion, and Sincerity love from F & T. Bumpy road ahead yes, I know who to call when I need the help.Most sincerely, me and my besty, D.
Jen K25: After reading soooo many positive reviews, I was really excited thinking we found someone to care for our dog while we are away at times. My problem has been they won't call/text/email me back! Perhaps they dont have enough staff to handle their popularity? Of the 4 times I have reached out, I only received a response once. At that point, it was too last minute to proceed with care. I understood that, and tried again recently for another trip. No response to text or voicemail. Disappointed
