Stacey Morse: I cannot relate to the negative reviews on here at all. I ended up going here roughly 6 years ago as a fast and cheap answer to needing glasses and contacts. I continued to go here because they were great. Dr. McGee has been the best. I’ve only had positive experiences with the people working the front. I’ve always felt comfortable and acknowledged here.Today I went in because my glasses broke in half after about 6 years with them. They still carried the same frames so the very kind and helpful woman simply put my lenses into new frames. It took all of 6 minutes.This place is a good one.

Evangeline Custis: I dreaded getting my new lenses made. I would have to go about 2 weeks without glasses while they make my lenses. Since I’m an elderly driver, that’s not good. But I had to go to Walmart anyway, so I stopped by their Vision Center.Johnny was at the desk and was very friendly, and helpful. He explained the options I could have with my new lenses. I didn’t want new frames and he did not try to push new frames off on me, like in most store do.He measured my lenses, my eyes, then took a complete description of my frames. I asked why and he said that with this information, they did not need my frames to make my lenses. Also, if my new lenses got a scratch two years down the road, they could make a replacement lens without me having to go in and sit through all the measurements again, and there was less likely a chance that my frames would get broken while in their care.I cannot speak for those who submitted bad reviews about Walmart Vision Center, but I was well treated by Johnny, the price was reasonable, and I left the store with my glasses on for the drive home, and that’s something new for me.

Johnny and Judy were very helpful answering all my questions, adjusting my glasses and even helped me pick out a pair that was right for me. I won't go anywhere else! Love, love this place!!
Olivia Heim: When you make an appointment here, make sure the person scheduling you knows what the days of the week actually are. Scheduled an appointment for Tuesday, put it in my calendar right away as such because I had other appointments Monday and even requested work off for it (did so in front of a friend to have a second pair of ears for me to prevent stupid mistakes). Probably should have expected this from a Walmart based doctor. Thanks Walmart, guess I'll drive home blind now. ✌ Would not recommend, go to a real doctor.
Cynthia Marble: Dr. Zhu is an extremely unprofessional doctor. She refused to re-exam me after my prescription failed. She will yell at you and treat you as if you are not human. Save yourself a trip and do not visit Walmart vision center.

Ed Blanchette: I thought I would try Walmart vision center one more time. I went there 2005 and glasses didn’t fit frames that good . So I walk in looking for someone no one around. Couple minutes later someone come from out back . I told her I wanted certain kind of glasses and all I got was negative . Your prescription won’t fit , prescription is going to bend frame what about these frames . Bottom line we went with these frames I picked out and she did what she had to do and she said well it worked . So why does Walmart hire people that are negative from the start . I was going there to get cheap glasses and she didn’t know this but you would think she would of asked me if I wanted better lenses nope she went right to cheap . Didn’t go over pricing nothing . Hey Walmart you need to hire people that like there jobs .
Shuvaditta Saha: I visited Walmart Vision center in Tewkbury, MA last month to do my eye test.Nothing bad about this Walmart Vision Center except the doctor who took my eye test, which is why I am giving one star. I wish, i could give zero star !I went to check my eye here on regular bi-yearly check up. Unfortunately, my experience with Dr. Zhu was not pleasant. Firstly, she was impatient and in hurry the whole time from when i entered the exam room till the end !For example, when she was giving me 2 glasses with different powers to compare, she was giving me no time to feel the difference and was asking me, which one is better !She did not offer me a glaucoma test, color blind test and neither asked me any history of my eye problems ! She yelled at me at some point too !Finally, she gave me a power which I mentioned not to be comfortable with. At this point she yelled at me for the second time !I was very unsatisfied. Therefore, i decided to go to another Walmart Vision center in a different location next week. I did so and saw the difference !My experience in the other Walmart was very pleasant and the doctor saw me with care. They took my glaucoma test, color blind test and the doctor saw me with time and care. The power she gave me is also significantly different from what Dr. Zhu gave me.

They understand we don't have insurance and recommend low cost options for my contacts too!Highly Recommend them!!

Rachel Ledoux: I had an incredible experience with Dr. Afshar, and I am so glad I found this office. I am extremely nearsighted and have astigmatism, and my previous Optometrist (of about 25 years) has only been able to correct my vision to 20/40 for as long as I can remember, but my vision with contacts was still never crisp or totally clear. He recommended I try to find a doctor who specializes in hard contact lenses, so I decided to get a second opinion.I saw Dr. Afshar today and am so impressed by his knowledge and experience. He is EXTREMELY kind and understanding and so patient when answering questions. I never felt rushed at all. The technology he uses seems to be light-years ahead of what I’m used to, and I actually cried happy tears when he told me I was reading letters from the 20/25 line. I feel as though he genuinely wants to help me achieve the best possible vision, and I haven’t felt that way in a long time. I am so appreciative and so excited to finally be able to see the world around me in better detail. Thank you so much, Dr. Afshar!
Sara: I went in for an appointment and it was so smooth! I got my contacts delivered to my door before I even ran out of the sample pairs Dr. Afshar gave me. The optician was also incredibly easy to work with and I was really happy they had almost every eyeglass frame trend for Spring/Summer that I've seen online.
melindda: HORRIBLE. made an appointment over a month ago to be seen today at 10:15am, I get there at 10:06am call to check in and wait in my car. They call me back at 10:40am to tell me they are ready for me. I work full time, I stepped away from work on my break hour to go to this appointment I ask the gentleman how long this is going to take because I’ve been waiting almost 40 minutes already. he tells me he is going to screen me and the doctor is with a patient so he does not know how long he will be. So I asked what the point of me making an appointment was if I’m not being seen until an hour or more later? His response was “I don’t know”. That’s great me either. This place might as well be walk in because they are not considerate of your time. First time going, never going back.
Yu Z: I need an eye exam with a short notice and the secretary at Heller Eyecare manages to provide me a slot even though their regular schedule is full. What impresses me even more is the service they provide. The secretary, technician and eye doctor are all fantastic! Great job!

Her glasses were under warranty when they broke, but we had moved out of state and Heller still made sure we got her new frames and swapped out her lenses and sent them to us! I’m sad to have moved because we were always very pleased with their friendly service and the way they always put their patients first.
Abigail Kell: This is a wonderful practice. I stumbled upon it while looking for a contact lens exam close to my house. Dr. Suraj Afshar is kind, professional, knowledgeable about all things eye, and genuinely wants to help you. I was blown away by this last quality. He truly went above and beyond to find a brand of contacts I was comfortable wearing. When I got home, my husband decided to also make an appointment and he had a very similar experience. Cannot recommend this place enough and so happy we've found a great spot down the street for all of our eye care needs. Look no further!

Tom Bennett: I'm quite shocked by the negative reviews for this location. I've been going to this location for the better part of 20 years - perhaps even longer, and have never had a bad experience. I did have ONE set of glasses that came back once, long, long ago with the wrong prescription in one eye, but that could happen to anyone, and they dealt with it very quickly and professionally. The staff there is extremely competent and helpful. a few times during the pandemic when I needed a set of frames fixed or adjusted, they took care of it, no charge - something they've done for years. Dr. Ryan is great. Man of few words, but that's just fine by me. I think someone referred to him as "ill mannered" which really blows my mind. He could have been having an off day, but for as long as I've gone here, he's been polite and professional to talk to, always to the point - gets you in and out quickly and does a great job. Bonnie and Steve are just amazing people, super helpful and put up with my endless searches through the frame selection every couple of years when I'm looking for something new. They've both been there a very long time, but they care about what they do, they care about their patients and I'm never disappointed - Great work!

I was interested in purchasing contacts for the first time and the woman assisting me with trial lenses informed me she didn't want to order the correct prescription of lenses for me to try and gave me something close to it and rushed me out the door with a website scribbled on a business card on how to wear them. Mind you the store was not busy. I returned a few days later asking if they could please order the correct prescription of trial lenses for me to try and the receptionist was very rude and unhelpful.

Very upset on what a waste of time after visiting Boston Eye medical how organized and very complete they are with patients. My husband will kill me next year. When hes due again for taking him to this place. Never again I even had him purchase glasses thinking that's as good as it gets since he cant see very much on the right side. He didn't even try to figure out a solution for his eyes. Please don't waste your time.

I mean like it was crickets ! One guy doing everything real in the store while a useless woman pretending she knows eye care.Total waste of time ! Go there at your own risk.
