Vivo Fencing Club: what do users think?
Jane Xu: My daughter has been fencing at this club for three years now, and we couldn't be happier with her experience. The coaches are exceptional. They bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to their teaching, and they have helped her grow and succeed as a fencer. Their professionalism and dedication to the sport are truly impressive. But what really sets this club apart is the sense of community. My daughter has made great friends here, and they have formed a tight-knit group that supports and motivates each other. It's truly heartwarming to see young people come together in this way. Overall, I highly recommend this fencing club to anyone looking for a positive and enriching athletic experience for their child.
Derek Holbrook: Such a great community and great coaches!
Matthew Tran: A great fencing club with world class coaches. All levels welcomed, especially those new to the sport. My son joined the fencing club after an awesome experience at Vivo's Summer day camp. Check out one of their beginner programs or sign up for a free first class. You won't regret it!
Justin Baker: Great place to learn any level of fencing. The instructor is world-class and great with getting the most effort out of kids, while not discouraging them.
Meghann Holcomb: My son was searching for an activity that he could really get into and fencing has been that for him. The staff is amazing, the classes are rigorous but fun and he's made some great friends there! We LOVE Vivo! Our kids have learned and grown so much while coming to vivo.
Jason McDuffee: Awesome activity for the kids. Great instructors.
Russell Sabbag: Outstanding training for youngsters
Gary Collymore: Our son became interested in fencing when Molly Sullivan Sliney came to his school to introduce the benefits of the sport to help focus and compliment his education. That was six years ago. Arpad Horvath started him in competitive epee fencing soon after his introduction. Whether my son fences at the club, locally, nationally or internationally, win or lose. The whole VIVO staff has been very supportive in all of his fencing and life endeavors. One of our observations is how well respected the coaches are on the national stage.( They literally know almost everyone or everyone knows of them.)Whether you want to take fencing for recreation or for competition, this club and its world class instructors will not disappoint you.
Alex You: Great place to learn fencing!
Karl Meissner: Fun family focused fencing club that teaches both basic and advanced fencers of all ages. A great way to get into a fun sport.
Robert Bell: My kid loves the classes and it's conducted in a safe, socially distanced environment
Steven Jackson: Great instructors
Mark Ariana: Coach Arpi is excellent. He really focuses on trying to help you know how to push yourself.Very nice high level competitive AND welcoming club.
Nora Kay Pelt: Our child has been fencing for eight years and Vivo holds a special place in our family. They are welcoming and make it easy to give fencing a try. It is so fun and, if you decide to stick with it, they are committed not only to training your child as a fencer but also to the well-rounded nurturing and mentoring of your child. Give it a try!
Linda Gilligan: We love VIVO Fencing Club! My son has improved a lot in a fairly short time and enjoys going to class. Arpi and Fernando are wonderful instructors. Highly recommend for anyone wanting to learn Epee.
L Botti: Vivo Fencing has given my daughter confidence and many opportunities to fence competitively. Arpi is both compassionate and demanding of the students.
Todd Dyment: The beginner program has been fantastic. Arpi and his great team of coaches/instructors are so patient and enthusiastic that my son cannot wait for the next class. In a very short time Vivo has created a passion for fencing in a 9-year old boy. En Garde!
Valerie Clark: I decided what I like about VIVO Fencing. Even after many years of watching the same students there, the instructors are attentive. They take the time to review technique and suggest changes for each and every student. The sport is excellent for many reasons. Though it is an independent sport, it still requires team participation. It takes physical strength as well as mental agility. You need to develop and grow techniques that will give an advantage of the opponent bringing in strategic thinking and goal objectives. VIVO fencing is local in Wilmington, not far off of 93. The staff is wonderful and we love fencing at VIVO. We have returned for our third year.
Carrie Smotrich: My daughter loves Vivo Fencing! Great coaches, training and discipline. Thank you, Vivo!
Ashesh C Shah: If you are looking to fence epee, this is the place to go. There is no equal.

Marx Fencing Academy: what do users think?
Harris Hwang: amazing
Gerald Walle: It looks like an excellent fencing school. My granddaughter loves it and is making great progress. Lots of students and instructors too.
Naomi Miller: A wonderful place to learn fencing at any age or experience level. You will always feel welcomed and accepted, while still feeling free to take on the challenges and hills that come with a competitive sport. The coaches are fantastic and will treat you as an individual while still providing an exciting group experience. Above all, it is full of rolemodels and friends for all people. A “Be yourself at your own pace” kind of place!
Anton Andreev: Best fencing school in Boston
Helen Cobert **: When you walk through the door, you feel right at home!
Judy Bradley: Staff is wonderful !
Will Chiang: Love the club! and the coaches are great!!
Tesla Wells: As a competitive athlete, I've been blessed to call Marx Fencing Academy my home away from home for the past two years. The club puts a lot of effort into building a community of enthusiastic and passionate people. On top of that, they provide excellent training and personalized coaching. I have formed friendships here that will last me a lifetime and shared a fencing strip with some of the best athletes in the country. As a competitive athlete who is in the club all the time and has sat in on, taught, or attended almost every program they offer, I can personally attest to the quality of people and training at Marx Fencing Academy.
tracy vietze: Marx Fencing Academy may boast World Cup competitors Adam Maczik and Cassandra Bates among its members but it is also a great place to try fencing for the first time as an adult or a child. My two children have been participating in fencing for about 5 years now. From their initial interest prompted by the famous dueling scene in The Princess Bride through to today where they've enjoyed competing at the local, regional and national level, they have had the great privilege of being coached by Michael Marx (Olympian in foil and epee, national team and collegiate coach, a true fencing master) Marx Fencing Academy promotes athlete centered coaching and this is the signature benefit you should consider when choosing a school. Michael's ability to continually evolve his approach to the benefit of his students is consistent with how he became a 5 time Olympian, always willing to try, learn and evolve. My daughter said in the car ride home the other day, "Michael coaches everyone equally but none the same, he knows what it takes to develop us as individual fencers."
Ellin Porterfield: If you want to learn the art of fencing, Marx Fencing Academy is the place to be. Michael and Lisa are both dedicated to creating an environment where students can thrive as they learn discipline and teamwork with just the right measure of fun thrown in. They take a positive, student centered approach to teaching that respects the individual for who and where they are. We are so grateful that we are a part of this community and look forward to our daughter's continued growth and development here. We know that the skills she is learning will not only make her a better fencer, but will serve her throughout her life.

Fencing Academy of Boston: what do users think?
Steve P: the trainers are excellent, both challenging yet fun. It's not a boot-camp style environment, which manages to keep a good balance of fun to keep kids interested and discipline to keep them learning.
Muriel Medard: Vitaly and Karen are amazing.
Anir — Intros & more.: Wow. Good job America. Just good job.
Jason Welcker: I started fencing here with no experience at all about 4 months ago and I haven't turned back. Everyone (members and staff) is very nice and welcoming. Vitaliy is a world class coach and it shows every minute you're on the floor with him. I would recommend this place to anyone that had even a vague interest in learning what fencing is all about. It's a competitive, both mentally and physically challenging, and above all FUN sport. Stop by Monday/Wednesday and I'll see you on the strip. ;)
Charles Davis: I had the absolute pleasure of training in Saber with coach Vitaliy for a year. I have since moved to NYC, but I frequently come back to Boston and I always stop by his club. It's by far the best club for Saber and Foil in the city. There is nothing that Vitaliy can't teach you about fencing and the community is great and supportive. There are a lot of different levels of fencers there too, ranging from beginners to national champions. The facilities themselves are very nice. Brand new floors, very clean and open. The strips are all regulation size and there is plenty of room, which is not only great, but rare to find in Boston. If you are at all interested in fencing, I cannot recommend the Fencing Academy of Boston enough.

Olympia Fencing Center: what do users think?
saurav9351: The owner was rude
Seema Badaya: My son was part of Olympia for almost an year. When he had to join in beginning they were good. After sometime they started to show real colors. The owne lulia one day randomly sent me a v rude email that my son joined some extra class nhow she will take strong action next time and I replied on he never went toanyextra class n after some email exchange she told me she is canceling my sons membership. We thought may be it was one off n after settling v continued but later also she continued to send such email. Finally we had to take him out.
Heather Millar: My 10 year old son has had a great experience here as a brand new beginner in the sport. He has been excited to go to class every week and is already asking to go more often!
Jonathan Feinberg: Our son has been with Coach Daniel since he was six years old. He has now gone off to college as the third ranked junior fencer in the United States, and we entirely credit Daniel Hondor and his club for our son's growth and mastery of the sport. Daniel is a world-class coach, and the club feels like home for many in the Boston area. I highly recommend Olympia.Edit: Our son just won the NCAA championship.
Maximilian Shah: Olympia Fencing Center is an incredible place where you are not only taught how to fence, but learn how to be a good community member. I have made many incredible friends here and have come to think of it as a second home.
Kunjal Choksi: World class coaching, a great parent community, kids supportive of one another and fun place to hang out for the kids and the parents.
Allison Wade: Olympia Fencing Center offers classes and lessons for all age groups. Their coaches are patient, experienced, and kind. My daughter has been fencing in the competitive class for 8 years and OFC has become her home away from home.
Leo Liu: Love the fencing class here! The coaches are super nice and caring, especially for people who have no fencing experience. They also do a great job with keeping everyone COVID safe. All equipments and rentals are professional cleaned! 10/10 recommend
James: I found Olympia Fencing while going bouldering next door and decided to give it a try. Although I had never fenced before, coaches George and Sergei were incredibly helpful and knowledgeable in getting me started. I was very impressed my their level of experience but also patience!
Brendan B: This is an excellent place to learn to fence. The coaches are great, they will provide loaner gear for a deposit, they have a wide class schedule and open fencing on some days. They also take care to require masks, keep the occupancy low, and fencing is already a socially distanced sport. Parking lot is big enough, never trouble parking. Can't recommend this place enough.
Jiayi Ruan: Olympia Fencing Center is a great club to fence, learn, and grow in, no matter your level of experience! The friendly coaches and staff treat every fencer with warmth and consideration and are always happy to help. There is always a diverse variety of fencers of differing levels of experience and skills that gather to fence, whether it be in classes or during open bouting. A great place!
HoPe Destiny: RoUgH but fun
Ava Sydonie Wade -Currie: Favorite place to go.
Tanya Bacci-Benzan: We love Olympia!
Jinsong Huang: Knowledgeable and hard working coaches. Friendly and supportive staff, parents and fencers. Excellence in both epee and foil. This club has consistently produced national level fencers in all age categories. Best club in the Boston area for both epee and foil.
Cristina Gordet: Olympia Fencing Center is truly a club for all ages. Here, every fencer is taken seriously, whether you’re a Veteran (fencing in tournaments for those aged 40 and above), or a 7-year-old who’s just taking up the sport. As a Vet, I consider this commitment to each fencer extremely important. While many clubs and coaches treat Vets like second- class citizens, at Olympia all our coaches take those trying to make the USA Veteran Team as seriously as they do those training for a Cadet World Cup. I think the club’s results illustrate this dedication: this will be the third year I will be representing the USA at the Veteran World Championship. At the other end of the age spectrum, one of our 13 year olds is currently ranked 3rd in the U.S. in Y-14 points. I followed my coach, Daniel Hondor, to Olympia when he opened the club, and I couldn’t be happier. This is my club but these are also my friends and family.
david whelan: Truly a special place. World class coaching, a great parent community, kids supportive of one another. We feel so grateful that our kids are training here.
Gayane Kaligian: I have been fencing at Olympia since four moths after its genesis. I have enjoyed and grown from my time here immensely. Classes are separated by level of advancement and commitment, giving younger students the chance to train without the pressure of the older fencers. Coaches develop a very close and personal relationship with their students, and the community built by this environment is virtually unbreakable. All in all, Olympia fencing center is a wonderful place for a young fencer to learn the sport, and for an older athlete to hone their skills. It is an exceptional club, and I recommend it highly.
Penelope Schnier: I have been fencing with Daniel for 3 years now and I spend a lot of time there. It is a great fencing club and a very friendly community!
Matthew Mansoor: Great club to learn the incredible sport of fencing!!!
Brad Kain: My daughter and I are both members of Olympia Fencing Center (Cambridge, MA), and really enjoy our experience at the club. Daniel Hondor is an outstanding coach - an accomplished international fencer, an incredible teacher, and supportive of every member from beginners to experienced fencers. Iulia Hondor ensures that everyone feels welcome, including kids and parents. I have fenced at a number of clubs since 1976, and believe that Olympia is a great choice for anyone interested in learning about the sport.
