He supplies the rod and the bait if needed.He has great spots picked out where you get to experience his knowledge of nature as well. We saw freshwater clams that had been eaten by a beaver or otter! A tree that was cut down by a beaver, and lots of yummy wild blueberries.John himself, is extremely knowledgeable about fishing. He is extremely patient with kids, even super active ones like mine. He helps them focus and easily redirects them to the task they are trying to accomplish. He does this all with kindness and compassion. Teaches them how to tie the knot on the hook. Bait the hook. Cast the line, handle the fish. Teaches them to be aware and careful with the hook and where they stand.He is a kind, father of three and also a firefighter.I would highly recommend taking your child or children fishing with this trustworthy gentleman. John is an exceptional teacher, he is very knowledgeable about a lot of aspects of fishing since he has been fishing his entire life & is something he truly enjoys. He has been extremely helpful providing recommendations for fishing gear as well since I had mentioned that I found the selections overwhelming. He is VERY knowledgeable and experienced and was super positive and encouraging with my daughter. He picked a beautiful spot which made the experience even more enjoyable. Mark Leff: I felt that the fee charged was well worth it. I needed some lessons not only fly fishing, but recommendations on knots to use and fly rod set-up. John never stopped teaching for the entire four hours. He improved my casting and taught me some new casts as well. He taught me how to think about the way the fly reacts in the water. Three hours in he checked to make sure that I was receiving what I wanted from the lessons. He felt pressure to make sure I hooked up with a trout. In short, John was very amiable and worked hard for his fee.

Johnny was patient with me and by the end of the lesson I had improved dramatically.We went to a small local river which was perfect for learning, so we spent all our time on the water learning and practicing. They got right back to me and let me know that there was space and answered my many questions.The day couldn’t have been more perfect for a trip out to stellwagen bank. 2’ seas and 5 knot winds, on a bluebird day.From the moment I was greeted by Captain Jim Walsh on the gangplank to the dock , I felt welcomed and comfortable.The whole crew was attentive, kind, and encouraging! Just what I needed for my solo fishing trip… my first time out fishing this far.Terry, Johnny, Jared, Jayla and Jim all checked in each time they passed by my spot on the rail, and made sure things were going well, and offered assistance if I needed it.Thanks to all of you, who worked to make sure EVERYONE on the boat had a stellar time.Lots and lots of fish made it to the deck, and thankfully they provide a cleaning service too, so lots of bags of filets will be leaving the decks this afternoon.I will absolutely recommend Walsh’s Deep Sea Fishing trips to my family and friends, and hope to be able to get back out again this summer.Truly a Classic experience ⛴🐟
