Sawtelle Family Hospice House: what do users think?
Lisa Rau Staff: I highly recommend Sawtelle. The wonderful staff and soothing evironment made such a difference when my mom was passing. The care that was given to her and to me as her caregiver was exemplary. My family had a beautiful experience when my mom passed because of the efforts of this terrific staff. Can't say enough good things about them!
Casey Kimball: The staff there are absolutely rude except for a couple of them. The home is beautiful. However, they are unsympathetic to your loved ones and the family. The director was horrible to deal with while my grandmother was there.
Carol Jefferson: I can't say enough good things about the care my Dad recently received at the Sawtelle house. Everyone was extremely kind and caring during a very difficult time for our family. They each took a genuine interest in Dad and spent time learning about who he was and did their best to make him comfortable. The facility itself was clean and well kept. I would not hesitate to recommend them.
Sue Sweeney: Quiet and peaceful setting. Caring and compassionate staff that made a difficult time a little easier.
Michele Higgs: My Mother recently passed away while at Sawtelle Hospice House. My family and I cannot say enough nice things about the excellent care she received from the time she entered until her last day. The nursing staff and volunteers were so kind to all of us and we have a rather large family. Mom was kept comfortable, clean and dry. She was treated with such dignity and respect. The home itself is clean with lots of homey spaces for family to gather (a beautiful sun room with tables & chairs, a guest kitchen complete with snacks, coffee and tea, a refrigerator for families to store their personal food, reading nooks, games, books, comfy furniture). The food served to the residents was made to order which was an added touch. With private rooms for 10 patients, we felt that Mom received excellent end of life care. It was reassuring to our family to know that there was a camera on Mom at all times. This team of care givers is top notch. We are so thankful to Lahey Clinic for finding the perfect place for our Mom.
Effie Veres: Staff very neglectful towards my father. Was not given all his medications. His vitals were not checked at all. When asked to check his sugar levels he was told they had no machine to check it. We brought the one from home. We had to ask for towels for the bathroom. Was not provided with breakfast or lunch. We were told he needs to ask for food. My father stayed one day. We checked him out the following day. Unacceptable.
Lori Mclean: THE FACILITY WAS CLEAN AND MODERN. THE NURSING STAFF NEGLECTED THE PATIENT BASIC NEEDS, HYGIENE AND REPOSITIONING IN BED.. WHEN THEY WERE COMFORTED AND OR ASKED DENIED THE ISSUE AND LIED. THEY WERE REPORTED TO DPH.
Michael Clark: Friendly comforting staff

High Pointe House: what do users think?
Ssesanga Yas: Very clean
Sarah McKenna: I wish I could give this place zero stars. The only way to get into this place is if you’re already dead and laying in your grave. My poor uncle was dying in a hospital bed from cancer and they denied him admission because he wasn’t “eligible” despite my family and his doctors verifying that he had just days if not hours left to live. We were in a panic to find him 24/7 care which was so stressful given his condition and the grief that we were experiencing. The day after he was denied from high pointe house, he passed away.
SussyGO: RIP TO ALL MY HOMIES THAT DIED HERE NEVER FORGET LLJJ LONG LIVE JJ WE FROM THE 4th WORDDDDD
Robert Young: My mother, Kathleen Shepherd passed away at the High Pointe house, and this place will be in our hearts forever. We couldn't have found a better facility for moms final days. Thank you all so much. - Robert Young, Jr.
Jason Demirjian: My mother who was 69 years past in April of 2019 due to ovarian cancer. She was referred to High Pointe in Haverhill by lahey clinc in Burlington MA. She was their a full week and she passed very peacefully in no pain. I never wrote a review until now. They took excellent care of her. Place was very clean and was quiet, which calmed down my whole family's nerves. The staff was fantastic and professional. This place even got our long preplanned trip to Disney world refunded in full given our situation, because we couldn't leave my mothers sight. All of my mothers friends, neighbors, coworkers, all got to see her to, which meant the world to her. My wife and I even slept over 1 night on the pull out couch just playing country music in the room. My mom passed very peacefully and our entire family circle was very pleased with this facility. I would highly recommend High Pointe.!!ThanksJason Demirjian
Eric Moulton: Didn’t call me in time to say goodbye to my father and they even though that’s like there only job...and when I got there they didn’t help me cope much with the fact that they messed up and didn’t give me a proper goodbye!
Michael Blampye: I wouldn’t have felt comfortable leaving my dad anywhere else for him to pass peacefully on the 27th. The nurses were incredibly attentive, gentle, and compassionate beyond words toward my father. Truly grateful
Amanda Mcgee: My gandmother was here for two weeks. I cant say enough about the caring compassionate staff and the care she recieved was wonderful. We couldn't have asked for more for her in her last days.
Lisa Dzioba: My mother was there for 10 days. I can't say enough about this place! It's peaceful, everyone that works there is caring, polite, considerate, and just wonderful. The volunteers are selfless, and also wonderful. My entire family was so grateful that my mother was there in her final days.
Chris Gaudet (Bubba): The best place ever
Dean Pacheco: The facility itself is very nice and the entire staff was caring and compassionate. My wife's comfort was clearly the priority.-Dean Pacheco
studiopeg: February 2018: This hospice house and the staff were awesome. My mom died in an uncaring nursing home, and I wish I had known about this place then. My dad came here in the last stages of cancer after I could no longer get him in and out of bed. They were fantastic with him, MUCH different than a nursing home. They took extremely good care of him, turning him properly to avoid pressure sores, gently washing him, always checking in on him, asking him if he needed or wanted anything, and feeding him as it progressed when he could no longer feed himself. Wonderful volunteers read the Bible to him as he requested, and sang to him. It was heavenly. There are special angels working here, all bent on making the last weeks/days of each life as pain-free and comfortable as possible. My dad deserved this, and that's what he received. I received hugs and tears upon my dad's death. I could not get there in time, so they held his hands and comforted him as he passed away. Thank you from my heart, High Pointe staff.
Desiree Smith: What a beautiful place 3 staff great thanks for taking care of my grandfather 3
William Pappalardo: Giving thanks for the care, compassion and attentive staff of Merrimack Valley Hospice . Every consideration was given to make my mother's final weeks as comfortable as possible . The facility has a home like atmosphere that is very calming . Staff has a genuine concern for their patients and I could not ask for anymore . Sincere thank you to the staff .
JP Seabury: I can't say enough good things about this place. Wonderfully attentive and caring staff, beautiful facilities. The best decision we ever made was to allow this facility to care for our family needs in a very difficult time.

Compassus: what do users think?
Eric Fredrickson: My mother, who is in a nursing home with advanced Alzheimer's is receiving tremendous care with compassion and professionalism. The Compassus team are making every moment of her life, (she is near the end-of-life) as dignified, personable and comfortable as possible. I'm not able to be there with mum now, but I need to say thank you Compassus. I can't say enough about the professional care and thoughtfulness of their communications with me and my family throughout this stage. I realize that this review sounds like an advertisement, it's not, it's just how I feel tonight -- miles and miles away from my mum.
L Touitou: Compassus used some hard handed tactics to get my aunt started on morphine (which is an end-of-life track) when my aunt was still very much alive and kicking! After being denied permission and asked to seek other alternatives, they tried to get my aunt admitted to the hospital so they could administer morphine. My aunt who is partially paralyzed, was removed from her home without any permission, and taken to the hospital on some trumped up symptoms, putting her at great risk. After the doctor who was at the hospital checked her vitals, he did not understand why she was there. He said, "She should not be admitted, her vitals are normal. And she is not in any pain." He also pulled up her (ACD) Advanced Healthcare Directive which luckily was on file there which showed that this was against her wishes. She was immediately released and returned to her home. Very poor service.
