Jason Byrne: I cannot speak to the actual spray foam installation. However, if it is anything like their attention to detail in the lead up, then I would steer clear from Insul-Kings.I planned to use this company for a 12x12 addition in my home that I had gutted back to the studs to add closed cell spray foam. Things started off with a great estimate meeting with one of their foremen. However, when it came time to schedule the work, I was called by their scheduling coordinator to let me know that the quote I was given was apparently incorrect. It seems the foremen had added up the work and written the quote wrong? And I was notified that if I wanted to do the work with them (which was scheduled for 3 days later), I would need to plan to pay an additional $1,000. I told them to go pound sand and made sure they knew this entire situation was absurd and unprofessional. The man on the phone didn't seem to care much or feel particularly apologetic.And now they won't get the chance to bid on spray foaming my basement when I get to that project next.
A E: Had insulation and sealing done by Insulkings recently. They did adequate work and have reasonable prices. There seemed to be a disconnect between the workers and the office. I had to point out some of the areas that needed sealing when I think that should have been documented on the paperwork, or been clearly visible to the workers. I got the feeling that the installers were just trying to get the job done rather than trying to do their best work. They were careless with the hose when they were blowing in the insulation and the hose ended up rubbing off/marking up part of our stairway on both ends.I also want to note that last time I got a quote from them back in 2019, they said they had a minimum price before they would agree to the job. To me this implies that they may find unnecessary work to be done in order to meet their minimum. Fortunately we had several things that needed to get done so the minimum was not an issue.Overall my experience was satisfactory.
Pepper Roni: I can't say enough good things. These guys spent the whole day here and they worked very hard... the highlight of my experience and the going above and beyond moment was when one of the guys came and found me to ask if I wanted to inspect the work before he closed up the hole and patched it up. I was blown away at what the work they did was. I didn't know what to expect and it was a masterpiece. I was thinking the night before I have no idea if they are gonna do 100% if they seal up the wall. But they were proactive to show.me.and it was 4 hours worth of Artwork! Then the remainder of the day they did blow in insulation in thr ceiling and I could not be happier. My only regret was not doing this 4 years ago! A+ I want to use this company again

Jonathan Herbster: I had them come out to give me an estimate and I really thought the guy was great. Showed up on time and went over all the options. Sadly after about 5 phone calls back I still have not received an estimate for the work. I have checked my spam. Moving on for other estimates now. It is my understanding that there were some extenuating circumstances so I am going to take that into account and change my review based on my initial contact.

Jason Byrne: I am ecstatic with the work done at my home by Star Insulation. I had gutted a 12x12 addition in my home back to the studs and found virtually no insulation anywhere. Star came out and gave me an estimate on Closed Cell Spray Foam Insulation and got me a price quickly and even was willing to work that price down to match a competitor I had quote the same work. Their scheduling process was quick and simple and even better yet, one of their foremen came back the following morning to make sure things were good and was happy to spot spray a couple areas that were a bit thinner than the rest near my windows and door framing. Room feels like a completely different space temperature and air wise. I am already planning to give them a call when I am ready to redo my finished basement. Thank you to the Star Team that helped us on our project.

L N: Mike Carbonneau Insulation performed air sealing and attic insulation for my home as part of Mass Save’s energy efficiency program. Mike’s knowledgeable and efficient crew exceeded my expectations! They were extremely competent; they work together like a well-oiled machine. They were patient, and answered all of my questions and concerns, they are very knowledgeable. Their meticulous attention to detail really impressed me! I observed them carefully cutting insulation bats, and just as carefully placing them into the soffit vent areas to get the maximum energy savings without blocking the vents. They didn’t just stuff them into place; they took the time to do the job correctly! They also identified problem areas, then recommended and installed solutions. For instance, they noticed my bathroom vents vented into the soffits. From their experience, they have noticed that over time this moisture rots the framing near the soffit, and can become moldy… They recommended and installed roof vents and insulated ducts for my bathroom fans, the way it should have been done when my home was built… I don’t think you will find a better team to air seal and insulate you home!

The area was hard to reach but the guys did a great job getting the insulation and then blowing in the remaining insulation. We have already noticed a big difference. They left the place broom clean. Alvin Hung: I came across the company through a search of a building product and decided to give them a try when Mass Save offers them as a contractor for an attic insulation. The crew of Chris, Ryan, Troy and Jack were top notch every step of the way but what happened next separates a good company from the mediocre ones. We noticed that several hvac outlets had little to no air coming out after they finished and I found two areas where the supply plenum were damaged and caused the duct joints to open. The owner Chris and production manager Dave responded right away, took ownership and looked into remedial options. Dave came next day to assess the damage, re-seal all the joints and life is good again. I have been in construction and facilities managemwnt for over two decades and understand that things happen but a great company big or small will never shy away from the issues and always solve them with a can-do attitude. I will definitely use them again for other projects around the house and recommend them to anyone.
Jesse Leddick: We recently worked with Dolphin to insulate the attic/walls of our antique home with blown-in cellulose. We had a wonderful experience. Everyone we worked with, from the field crew to the office staff, were helpful, responsive, and just really easy to work with. They also worked collaboratively and seamlessly with our carpenter, electrician and plasterer to ensure that our whole project was done right and efficiently. We would strongly recommend them, and plan on working with them again as we slowly improve the efficiency and comfort of our old home.

Dolphin were upfront on their timing for the project, in what was their busiest time of the year, and called us ahead of time to let us know they were running a day or two late.All the crew who came to our house throughout the process were polite, friendly, hardworking and took the time to answer any questions we had. They were flexible and worked around other contractors who were in our house at the same time. Everyday they cleaned up after themselves as best they could. Amanda the owner even stopped by towards the end to bring over some parts they need to protect lights in our family room.It is also clear everyone believes in the technology they use, and that what they do is more than just a job for the crew. As far as we are concerned this is the best and greenest insulation solution out there. It takes time to install but it is well worth it. No toxic fumes and you don't have to move out of your house.

Nat Hillis: Called the parking police on people sleeping inside their own homes, repeatedly. You could walk down the neighborhood and see a ticket on every car. This is public housing for people who need a bit of extra help and this company along with the town of Arlington MA should be ashamed of this.You drive down the street you emptied by force and still manage to crash into something new every morning. I get that driving a truck is hard but maybe don't take it out on us please. The church walks around my neighborhood and hands out bread, we don't need parking tickets for going to sleep in our own homes.

carla evans: So Air-Tight was hired to do some insulation throughout the home. Phil, the gentleman who arranged for the permits and scheduling, he was a very nice and easy going man. He was prompt and updated me on every aspect if necessary.Once the crew from Aurtight started working on the home, I dealt with Robert but all the employees were so friendly and family oriented so it was nice having people in your home doing work for once! Very respectful of our belongings and did a great job with cleaning up and restoring back to normal. They coincidentally came the day after I cleaned my entire house (worst nightmare lol) and the insulation job can be messy if you have large gaps or areas to insulate in the home.These guys truly went above and beyond to make sure they came in and got the job done right and left no trace behind. My kids loved them all and were harassing the crew pretty much the whole time. They were all very patient between the dogs, the people coming and going, and the 4 kids questioning their every move 🤭. Tim Marks: Air-Tight did a great job insulating our whole house five years ago. Recently, we had a roof leak that damaged the top-floor ceiling and walls, but we weren't sure whether it had damaged the insulation. Air-tight sent two guys out to climb up into the ceiling space and inspect the damage. They were very thorough, even noticing an error that the roofing company had made when replacing the roof. It turned out there were only minor effects of the leak on our insulation, which Air-Tight fixed without charging us a penny. Highly recommended!

Frances Saunders: I cant say enough good things about this company. The owner gave us a prompt estimate, always returned our calls timely, and gave us great advice (we had foam installation installed). The workers were polite, cleaned the place up nicely, worked very hard, and did a great job installing the product. The best part was that we experienced our first cold weekend (in the low 20's on Friday night), and our pellet stove on the first floor kept our 2,500 + square foot house warm enough so our furnace did not kick on once. This was not the case before we had the job done. In previous winters, the furnace would have been running constantly on nights like that. Thanks Genesis!

Elaine Jalbert: I went through Mass Save program for Insulating my very old home.I picked Air Tight Weatherization for my contractor. They were terrific from my first phone call with Phil and Naomi for scheduling to the crew that were sent to my home Juan, Julio and Eddie they were professional and very thorough with there work , they even entertained my elderly mom! while they were insulating the outside of my aluminum siding, I was made aware by mass save as well as Air tight that there could be dent marks while removing the siding .When I arrived home there were no apparent marks or dents to my home. after my Inspection I did notice that there was a puddle near my bulkhead door I called and Jeremy was at my home within an hour to inspect the room. He noticed that my basement window was leaking . the next day Jeremy himself came back to my home and repaired the Issue . He was prompt courteous and was overly concerned with all of my Issues . I would recommend Air Tight for there professionalism and prompt attention and very high quality of work .

Each step of the process the team has been extremely helpful. Jeremy, Phil, Kevin and the team at Air Tight Weatherization are tremendous professionals and went above and beyond insulating our home. Jeremy is an extremely communicative leader and helped make multiple improvements to our insulation/ weatherization plan that the initial CLEAResult auditor had missed. I can confidently recommend these guys. Everything about our experience was great. From the initial evaluation and pre-project scope of work iteration to the job execution, Air Tight Weatherization surpassed our expectations, impressed us with professionalism and overwhelmed us with value. We would trust these guys again, again and again. I can’t say enough good things about Jeremy in particular, he’s the sort of consummate professional you want working on important improvements to your home. Nathaniel Dwyre: We had Polar Bear come by and do a complete home insulation improvement through MassSave. Originally they were contracted to come for one day but noticed a few issues missed by MassSave, like how our walls were lacking the proper amount of insulation. Polar took care of everything quickly and efficiently; they came back within 5 calendar days and finished the job! The crew on site were friendly, polite and clean; any mess left behind was cleaned. The crew chief was very knowledgeable and answered all my questions during the in-depth explanation of what they were doing to improve our home. 10/10 would recommend Polar Bear even without MassSave involved!
B WM: Easily the best experience I’ve had with contractors in 8 months of home ownership. I got connected with Polar Bear through Mass Save, so there was already an extra layer of red tape built in. Peter came out ahead of the scheduled work date to scout the job and noticed a few areas not covered in the original Mass Save audit and some obstacles to completing the work. He and his accounts manager worked directly with Mass Save to make sure the job was done right the first time, and I didn’t have to deal with any of the back-and-forth myself.On the day of the work, James and his crew were on time, incredibly professional, worked efficiently, explained everything they were doing, and worked around our schedule (pushed all indoor work to day 2 so we could get the kids out of the house, took their lunch break while I had a work meeting so the noise didn’t interfere). They also went above and beyond what I would’ve expected – James helped me dismount a heavy TV so that he could insulate the hole in the wall behind it and properly seal it, then helped me re-mount the TV.I can’t speak to the pricing because that’s all standard through Mass Save. But the work quality was great, we noticed a difference in temperature and even street noise immediately, and they worked efficiently. I can’t recommend Polar Bear highly enough.
Beatriz Da Silva: Great service from these guys Peter, James, Frankie (might be Freddy) are very professional, wonderful and skilled. Each step of the process was well explained, all of our questions were answered. They showed up a little before 8am and left around 3 or 4pm. From beginning to the end it was a wonderful experience. When they left it was as if they never had been here. We thought we would have to replace some of the shingles they took off to blow in the insulation but they did a great job at keeping them all in one piece and putting them back. It Doesn’t even look like any of them were taken off. They did an amazing job! The temperature in the house is much better and easier to regulate now. We had to wait several weeks for our appointment but it was worth the wait!!

They had to remove old insulation, install baffle, vent a bathroom fan that was not done right and blow in 21” of insulation while maintaining a walkway to my AC unit... Nice guys. Clean work (as best as can be with blown in insulation). Reliable... Will definitely use them in the future.

Dave Nguyen: We worked with Polar Bear and Mass save to re-insulate the knee-wall in the 3rd floor of our house. These guys were awesome. They gave good money saving advice. Peter, who I talked to on the phone, was really professional and sounded like he knew his stuff. Scheduling was easy. When the team arrived, Zach, Max, et al were very professional. They laid down coverings from their truck all the way to the work space, covered all the furniture in the room, did it all in the morning, vacuumed before they left, leaving no trace ... lucky they are in the insulation business cause they would make excellent thieves j/k! Honestly, these guys are great. Highly recommend them.
