Merrimack Yarn: what do users think?
Suzy Feirman: I have loved this store since it's opening! I am totally disappointed and distressed that the owner has decided to close at the end of March. There are so many difficult things happening in our world today but losing one of the few happy places makes dealing with them even harder! This customer begs the owner to reconsider his decision. Thank you ladies for your awesome assistance over the last nearly 3 years. We will all miss you very much!!!
Diane J. Famolare: So pleased to discover this beautiful shop. Excellent customer care and wonderful yarn selection. Highly recommend!
Marga van Breda: Wonderful store!
Banafsheh Ehtemam: A wonderful place, where you can find everything and anything in your yarning needs. A jewell in Groveland! And the most wonderful creative sales associate who basically runs the place convincing me to take future classes.
Irene Pek: This yarn store has loads of options for yarn of all colors and weights and types, regardless of your budget. Anything from luxurious blends of Merino wool and cashmere to simply acrylic or even alpaca. They also have a bunch of knitting, crochet and felting accessories as well as a decent selection of buttons and pom poms. Best of all is the friendly and knowledgeable service you get here and bonus tips and advice for your creations. This is why you have to support local establishments like that.
Ellen Rittgers: Great selection, good prices, and friendly people - I recommend!
Linda Hinson: Went to the yarn shop today with my mother. We loved every aspect of it; the interaction with the kind lady who helped us, the prices of the yarn and the overall atmosphere. It is the best yarn shop that I have ever been in!
Susie Q: Great selection
Mary Laidley: Fabulous
Chris G: This is a wonderful locally owned yarn store with a wide selection of quality yarns at very good prices. The owner and staff are extremely friendly and helpful, and if they don't have what you need in the store, they will track it down for you.
Nancy Ashley: Went for the first time today and I found it to be a great place and hope to spend many happy hours there , very very friendly and helpful !!!
Susan McDonald: So happy to have a yarn shop so very close to home, and with fabulous people. They are very helpful with advice and time. A nice big table to sit and knit. Richard will find anything you are looking for. They carry all the usual name brands of yarn and some really fantastic special yarns, as well. If they don't have it at Merrimack they probably do at their sister store in Gloucester, and will get it for you. I really like the people and atmosphere here. The Facebook page will tell you the daily specials.
Annmarie Furtado: Dropped in Saturday, not fully stocked yet, but had some great yarns and fabulous embroidered tote bags. Lots of stitch markers to put on a bracelet... will return with friends soon.

Another Yarn: what do users think?
Vicki Chen: My yarn order took 8 weeks to come in. The owner told me “it won’t take too long” when I placed my $170- order. When I called after 3 weeks, I was told “your order is being held as part of a larger order”, which perhaps means they would rather make me wait, than pay for shipping? I called weekly thereafter, and eventually it came in after 2 months. The owner never called me back despite several messages, and she never apologized for the delay. Furthermore, she told me that I needed 2100 yards for this sweater I am making. I am half way through it and have only used 500, there is no way I needed to buy that much. I will not be back. There are many great yarn stores nearby, like Lucky Cat in Melrose and Gather Here in Cambridge. I would rather travel farther for better customer service. In response to the owner: I agree, it is unfortunate that she never returned my calls and is first hearing about these problems via an internet review- that is on her. I hope she learns from this experience and treats future customers better.
Rachel Williams: One of the most pleasant and beautiful places I visited for yarn. It was a splendid store with wonderful staff who helped out so much. I cannot wait to go again
shannon c: Always friendly and helpful
Carol B: Wonderful shop. Beautiful yarn. Great range of prices. Lots of fun accessories. Rest rooms for men and women. Easy access. Superior help from Dee. Needles galore. Very pleased. I’ll be back. A+++
Liza Paden: Excellent help that is useful. Yarns are stored in back so you always have "fresh" skeins.
Rosemary Jarjoura: Excellent service with experienced helpers. Their selection is abundant and high quality. I feel lucky to have them close to my home.
Carol Lerch: Excellent yarn store, lots of beautiful yarns to choose from, the staff is very knowledgable and can help with any problem.
Kay Snowden: I found the customer service terrible and will not shop here again. I placed an order for yarn. I called when it was expected in, and could not get an answer on the status on my order. I was told they would check into it and call me back, but I never got a call. After nearly 2 weeks I cancelled the order and got my yarn from another vendor within 24 hours. Never even an apology from Another Yarn.
Matthew Stieglitz: Great selection of yarns and colors. Lessons accessories and much more.if you knit you must go there.
Anita Rossiter: Guess what Santa delivered under our Chanukah bush! A special treat from Another Yarn. Thanks thanks, Teresa, for snapping up one of these hard to find needle sets from Addi. I can't wait to try them. After much searching you came through and the set looks so v nice. Happy Holidays!
Kathleen Riley: Love this yarn shop. Very friendly and welcoming with lots of samples and ideas
Lulita M: Very wonderful ladies and such a lovely choice of yarns.
Josh Andrews: Modest selection of yarns with mediocre service. Waited several minutes at the register before someone came over from the "knitting group" to check us out. Highly recommend making the trip to Webs instead.
Emily Mason: Small shop with a good selection of mostly natural fibers. An older couple runs the store and offer free knitting lessons. Very old school, but worth the visit.
MaryLou Benoit: Love this shop. Great selection of yarns. Friendly and helpful staff.
Jennifer Stack: Great selection, friendly knowledgeable staff. A great LYS!
Rose Ferrara: Favorite yarn shop. Beautiful yarns and nice people.
Megan Goheen Lower: Very customer friendly and helpful.
Deb S: Fully provisioned yarn store with a good selection of specialty in luxury yarns. I like the kits they have of patterns and yarn pre-packaged as a bundle. Very helpful when they have the samples made up and then you can grab the kit.
joseph ryan: Very pleasant and helpful personnel! Well stocked store.
Mira Whiting: Just went for the first time the other day, but was seriously impressed with the variety and quality of yarn stocked. I will definitely be going back again soon!

The Fiber Loft: what do users think?
Lois Brooks: Large quantity of yarn. Very helpful sales clerks
Margaret Lapin: Knowledgeable and helpful staff make this a great little shop. They stock a good variety of high quality yarns as well supplies for spinning and weaving. Classes are available.
J Every: Not much to choose from. Very small variety... most of which is stuff I've never heard of. I got the feeling their stock is extremely old. Seemed old.
Amanda Lucas: Small but great selection, staff is helpful. Building connections with this team is very easy.
Betty Rainville: Love your store!
Casey Dawes: Wonderful people. Great selection!Eileen spent a lot of time helping me find a pattern and yarn for a pair of mittens I wanted to knit. It was wonderful. Great selection. They even have items for spinners and weavers. If you're a spinner or knitter in the area, stop by.
Miki MacKennedy: Great selection of yarn. Wonderful, welcoming atmosphere.
Kate Sheridan: Lots of great yarn, she'll order the colors you need if they aren't in stock. Had a hard time picking because it was all awesome
Karen Gandy: Very nice shop, pleasant owner
Rachel DiAngelo: The Fiber Loft is my most favorite place to shop for yarn and all knitting related things. They have an excellent selection of yarn and a super helpful staff. Suzanne especially is a wonderful manager and has helped me on several occasions, between ordering a hard to get product and trying knitting techniques for the first time. I'm a fairly new knitter but I always leave with a renewed sense of confidence.
Dakota Skye: Excellent selection of yarn with lots of local makers getting highlighted on the shelves! They do focus more on wool products however, which is sad for those who have allergies to animal fibers, but I still think most will find an abundance of yarn to purchase. I hope to be back next week and buy more yarn :)
Judith Jacobs: My first visit today at The Fiber Loft, I felt immedately welcomed the moment I stepped in and was greated by the shop owner. There's a warm vibrant light that makes all the shades of yarn pop. You will find a wide selection of luxurious yarn as well as a generous display of colorful scarfs and shawls. I found the shop owner, Suzanne, very helpful in answering questions about yarn and patterns. I will return to the Fiber Shop again when I am in the area. I encourage anyone with a passion for knitting to visit The Fiber Shop. I have been visiting yarn shops in the Boston/Cambridge/ Rt2 West area for the past 6 years since I discovered the hidden benefits of knitting. In several shops, I found employees rude, selective of customers they help and exhibit preferential treatment towards those who attend class, pricing is off, and some are not interested in making your experience a good one. They really take the pleasure out of shopping for yarn and that's something I look for in a yarn shop. The Fiber Loft ranks the highest for me. I look forward to my next visit. As a former customer service representative in my former career I can spot those in the industry who take pride in presentation, support, and knowing how to make customers happy, Suzanne does it exceptionally well.
Joelyn Durgin: Great high quality small nitting and supply shop.
Sydney Mortara: We went and got there at opening to pick up some weaving supplies, dyes and yarn. The trip started out pleasant enough, but after 5 minutes in the store, we were told we would have to hurry it up because people were waiting. OK, no problem. So a little flustered, but understanding, we tried to collect what we needed quickly. I had my husband run downstairs to ask the store keeper if they knew where we could find a piece of equipment so that we could get out of there quickly to accommodate other people. The store keeper's response was, "If you don't see it, we don't have it, and now there are 4 people waiting." We were able to locate a few things but ultimately left really demoralized. We literally were just asking for help so that we could accommodate others, but it felt that the shop keeper did not want us there at all.It is a cute shop with a lot of hard to find supplies, and I know everyone is stressed and feeling the strain of covid requirements, but the brusque, unhelpful and confrontational nature of this experience left us feeling really sad.
Jill Stewart: Basic wheels and a wild variety of drop spindles and buttons.
Jeff MacDonald: Stopped in to ask questions about looms for beginners and Suzanne was very helpful, including advice that might ultimately lead me elsewhere. Given my experience I know they'll stand behind whatever they sell. So, if they're selling it, I'll be buying from The Fiber Loft.
Madel Mann: Very nice owner. You get your more high end yarn here. Cashmere and wool blends .
Heather Pederson: I went here in February with my hubby. The store was quaint and the staff was extremely helpful. They had such a great selection of natural fiber yarns. They even had the exact yarn I wanted in the exact color I wanted. I ended up buying a decent amount of yarn. The wonderful lady respected my wishes and didn’t say the total price of my purchase out loud so my husband is still clueless!! Can’t wait to go back, and take a class on spinning and/or weaving!
Lisa Nielsen: Great store, fantastic people, very helpful. Knitting, crochet, weaving and spinning. Everything you would want in a yarn and fiber store!
Eva Olsen: Lovely store, very friendly staff. I only got into spinning a few months ago and I was so happy to find this gem of a shop. On the first floor they have lots of yarn, knitting/crochet supplies, jewelry, and some cute miscellaneous items. Upstairs they have studios for classes and their fiber art supplies: roving, dyed, carding combs, drop spindles, spinning wheels and felting tools.Love that they have locally sourced roving.100% reccomend!
Tara C: The only place I’ve been able to find locally for my needle felting supplies and wool!
