Lowell-Dracut-Tyngsborough State Forest: what do users think?
alexis karle: Dog-friendliness: Lots of amazing trails for you and your fur buddies ❤️
Sokreth “Sok” Un: Excellent place to get your steps in. There are many different trails to explore.
Melinda Gavin: The trail starts out beautiful, but then it turns into Cherynoble. My only question is, is it going to continue to be worked on or is that?I appreciate all the work that went into making it...Dog-friendliness: Great place to walk your dog. 🐶
Alex McDonnell: Nice walk
Nicholas Weissman LaFrance: This is a great park. The terrain is varied and interesting. Parking situation could be better but then again it's a big attraction for the Lowell area.
Jesse H.: Beautiful year round my dog loves it we go very often
marissa van ryzin: This is a great place to go if you want a solitary walk/ hike. Most trails are well marked and easy to follow. Even if you get turned around, you're never far from a neighborhood or a main road, though you won't hear them. There are miles and miles of trails, most are quite easy and a few are paved and accessible. It is my experience that the parking lot could be full, but once I turn off of the main trail, I hardly see another person. There are no bathroom facilities.
Steven Flynn: First time there,, who knew there was such a beautiful forest in Lowell,, thank God I had a gps otherwise I mightve had to build a survival shelter lol...100% I'll be backDog-friendliness: My dog had the time of her life,, so many new smells,, critters to chase and things to pee on
EJ Ciramella: Tons of trails, great for cycling and hiking.
John Zhong: Nice little local park for a short hike - parking is very limited.
Michael Rice: My 1st time in there today... It's a Really nice place. With a Huge network of well maintained trails.
Terry Weiser: Parking is muddy and, no bathrooms. Maps were good and trails very clean.
Donald Lupien (Don): Parking can be limited during the parks peak time. Everything is clean and natural. There is a small road winding down through the park. There are all these trails off the road that you'll want to walk all of them. I saw people biking, jogging, walking, and dog walking. Bring bug spray! People I spoke with all had cell service.
Ric Everhard: These bike trails ROCK!!!
Scott Thomas: I have lived adjacent to this what I'm told is over 3,000 acre Forest and it is an awesome place to walk on the trails or ride your mountain bike through the miles and miles of trails. It is also the perfect place to bring your dog and let them run loose if you are so inclined to do because it is a paved road going right through the middle if you do not want to go off onto the trails and very easy to keep track of the dogs.
Petra Zion: This is such a beautiful place to go for a walk and enjoy a moment of nature. Highly recommended and it seems save to (writing as a woman). You can walk on a paved road or going off track whatever you prefer.
Raziyah Macy: muddy but nice. nice walk and accessible
A C: A very ecologically diverse forest with plenty of different settings for all kinds -- including paved walks, bike/dirt trails, and foot trails through the actual forest. There are rocky areas, hills, plain wooded expanses, and even wetlands. There's something beautiful here for everyone of all abilities and hiking expertise. Not all of the trails are loops, so it can be very easy to get lost for those who aren't the most situationally aware or good at directions, so staying on the paved path might be a better option for some. It gets creepy at dusk too so be cautioned! Some downsides are parking can be pretty tough, as the official lot is fairly small and can only fit around 6-8 vehicles at best, so you may find yourself having to park on the side of the road. The place is also very buggy (mosquitoes in particular), so bug spray is non-negotiable. The Lowell Dracut Tyngsboro forest would be a solid 5 if DCR or other responsible authorities did a yearly pesticide spray on the place as Triple E tends to spike in the warmer months in this part of New England.
Edward Leaor III: Some amazing local MTB trails!
Robin Trudel: Nice walk on a hot day
