The seating is luxurious here, the concessions reasonably priced for a movie theater and the sound and picture quality are top notch. If again O'Neil Cinemas doesn't have a movie I want to see, Showcase Cinemas de Lux in Lowell will be the venue to go to!

April Pelletier: Went to see Super Mario Bros. 3D In theater 12. The seats were really nice and seemed newer. They could have been cleaned but I understand it is a busy weekend. There were water bottle caps and trash in the drink holders. The seats are easy to find and are all lit up. There is enough incline that if you have someone really tall in front of you won't have any problems seeing.The screen has a few spots in the center that you have to get used to looking at and sometimes is a bit distracting. Online it looked like the theater was sold out, but there were a ton of empty seats around.

Ariel Aurora: 4/1/23 First time at the theater--Upon arrival everything was easy to find and staff was friendly. Didnt have enough time to play the arcade games (wish we did), bar looked clean. The theater was otherwise comfortable and quiet.10 minutes into the movie, 7 teen boys entered the theater talking. They continued to be disruptive and throwing popcorn at one another. When asked to quiet down, they continued to talk, began taking flash photos of the screen and jumping over seats.I left the theater and searched the lobby for staff members but no one was available at the front desk, or concessions. I returned the theater without remark. Soon after, the boys left the theater on their own.I dont blame the theater for the boys behavior however, when the movie was over, a staff member was at the front desk. I expressed that I was not looking to be compensated but that they had lost the opportunity for a repeat customer. Felt as though, beyond this incident, had there been a real emergency leaving the lobby unattended was a safety issue. Staff member stated it may have been due to the theater closing however movies were still in progress. Explained otherwise it was a good experience and again denied to be compensated.Disappointing, 5 out of 10.

Joe Welsh: We moved to Lowell recently and we've been waiting for just the right movie to see at Luna. Last Thursday they showed Groundhog Day on Groundhog Day; it's my favorite movie and my girlfriend had never seen it. This was the perfect event. The movie was free to the public and on a first come/first serve basis. It was apart of a college series and the professor does an interactive lecture about the movie afterward.Luna is located at the end of the hall at Mill No. 5.Concession is available in the lobby. The theater itself is roomy and the seats are comfortable. We would gladly pay to see a movie here.

Nicholas Williams: This place makes for a fun date night. Cool atmosphere and old timey theater ambiance. They show old classics and alot of independent films. Prices are well below what you pay at traditional theaters. They offer snacks and beer. Cozy and quiet theater.

They selection of films is eclectic. I was here to see White Christmas, which had been an annual event but this was my time since 2019, so good to be back!Also, it’s located in the low key but lovely Mill #5 in Lowell, at the end of an indoor streetscape that includes a lot of reclaimed material. Come early and walk around, have some coffee, browse the bookstore!

But this cool little theater hidden at the far end of the 4th floor at Mill No.5 is the pearl in the oyster. We show a more eclectic mix of films than your big chain theaters. But really, you need to check this place out if only to witness the majestic 1949 Manley Aristocrat popcorn machine. It's like popping corn in a vintage Buick. And dare i even mention our collection of vintage video game machines that are set to free play? Probably not.

Don Lanteigne: This is a good clean cinema and I always enjoy coming here. I love how the seats recline more than at the Showcase Theatres and are longer, they're better suited for the taller crowd. The only thing I would deduct points for are for the seats being very skinny, I could fit my body between the armrest just fine (34" waist) but you are almost forced to have your arms on the armrest as you can barely fit them by your side. But I d[ like how you can flip up an armrest for date night.

Paramesh Krishnan: This Theatre is always maintained clean and is in a nice location near the busy Point Shopping mall. The staff are very attentive and friendly. Recently I watched AVATAR 3D and TOP GUN Maverick movies in Dolby DLX and the the whole theaterical experience is outstanding

The food counter they slammed the cups down and didn’t say one word not even a smile and where the guy checks tickets going in, he was extremely rude to us for no reason. He was mad because he couldn’t get his scanner to work on my mobile tickets. I am a person who would never personally go out of their way to be rude to anyone! I don’t get why kindness is so hard these days. Won’t be back. Decent customer service should remain important. I could understand if I as a customer was being rude to them first but this wasn’t the case. Very saddened by how my family and I were treated. Also the theater needs to be cleaned better.. so many stains on the floor and the bathrooms are not kept up. I could deal with that had the customer service been better. These people don’t want to work and they show it by being rude to others for no reason. Sickening!

The rest of the theatres are not so great as the seats feel extremely uncomfortable for some reason. Other normal theatres at other AMC locations don't feel this way somehow. But I will recommend this place just for the IMAX and Dolby theatres they have.

Jenny: As movie theaters go, this one is pretty good. The seats are comfortable and they have a lot of snacks and even a bar. They also have IMAX.However, this is not a celiac-safe venue for foods (including popcorn). There is cross-contamination with their popcorn and all fried foods contain flour, including the french fries. The only exception is boxed, prepackaged candy.

Anomaly 382: Seats could use some general upkeep, but all in all a good theater with recliners and great food. The pretzel... holy schnikes, its bigger than my head. Get one.

Tony García: My recent experience at AMC Methuen 20 left me extremely disappointed. The theater had a filthy floor, which appeared to not have been vacuumed all day. It was an unpleasant experience to walk on sticky floors and feel dust on my shoes.Furthermore, the reclining chairs in the theater were in poor condition. They were worn out, dirty, and some of them even had rips in the fabric. It was uncomfortable to sit on such chairs, and it made me feel like the theater did not value the comfort of its patrons.To add to the unpleasant experience, the staff attending to customers were rude and unfriendly. I was shocked by the lack of basic courtesy and professionalism. It seemed like they were not interested in their customers and were just doing their job for the sake of it.The high cost of a ticket at AMC Methuen 20 makes it not worth the money spent. It was disappointing to see how parts of the theater were dirty and poorly maintained, even though they charge a premium price for the movie experience.The customer service provided by the staff has also declined. It is sad to see how the theater has gone downhill in terms of cleanliness, comfort, and customer service. I felt sorry for the condition in which this theater is, and I hope that the management takes immediate action to improve it.In conclusion, my experience at AMC Methuen 20 was unpleasant, and I would not recommend it to anyone. The dirty floors, worn-out chairs, rude staff, and high ticket prices make it not worth the money spent. It is high time the management takes corrective measures to improve the condition of the theater and provide a better movie-going experience to its patrons.

siddanth rai: One of the best theaters I have been to in Massachusetts. They have around 25-30 screens. 3D and IMAX screens are amazing, it’s a different experience. They do server food and liquor to your seat. If you are a stub member then you get to watch 3 movies per week. The membership fee is very reasonable around $24. This can be used in any AMC theater across the US. Parking should not be an issue. They have ample space.

Previous to the online ordering I would have given I much lower review as getting any service was usually a joke. Food and drinks come out MUCH faster now. The food is pretty heavy but we expect it. They usually don't have popcorn which is kind of a huge bummer because it's the movies!!

Rachel Yu: I'm a transplant to this area from central MA, so Chunkys is brand new to me! My husband and I needed a quick and fun date night out, and this was the perfect place to get dinner and a movie at the same time. The food is mediocre objectively speaking, but it's more than good enough for the price and the casual atmosphere. The prices of tickets literally cannot be beat anywhere, and the laid back, no frills atmosphere was exactly what we were looking for. The wait staff was attentive and kind, drinks were huge, movie was great. Dinner and a movie for 2 people for under $60 is unheard of these days! We will definitely be back!

Lacey K: The volume of the movie was louder than I've ever heard before. Fortunately, someone who worked at the front desk offered me a head set to give my niece and even to turn down the volume. I took the head set, and that did the trick. The theatre was freezing. The food was decent. The server was very kind. I'm not a huge fan of the arcade there. The motorcycle simulators have half-naked women rallying the race. It was a bit awkward being I brought 4 children with me. The claw machine is rigged, but that's common anywhere. The low prices are what really make the place. I also enjoy the old car seats.

Back when I first started watching movies here, I'd go for this amazing waffle fries with miscellaneous toppings, but they nixed that. So now, I would order High Noon nachos followed by a main dish. Nov 2022, my burger came out half way through the movie (The Menu). Last week, went to see 80 for Brady on a Tuesday with only a handful filled theater and my sandwich came out with 30 mins left to the movie. To top it off, I decided to live off my nachos and asked for more salsa/sour cream...never saw it or the server that brings the food out the rest of the night. Pretty disappointing since I've grown to like seeing most movies at Chunky's.

Never mentioned that they didn't serve Coke, only Pepsi. Drinks were disgusting and sent back. Ordered a Margarita pizza. An hour later, pizza was cold, burnt, and disgusting. Sent it back. Ordered another one. Got it 49 minutes later. Thankfully, the game was a long one, so we had leeway. While I realize it was a busy night, and probably short staffed, this is unacceptable. So many other options. Won't go back.

Whitestar19: This is a really fun place to have dinner, drinks and watch a movie for a fantastic price. You sit at long tables and in leather chairs on wheels like a large computer chair. Wait staff service you and bring you drinks and food. I've been 3 times. They had a really cute showing of The Polar Express for the kids. They gave out golden tickets to the kids and during the hot chocolate scene they passed out hot chocolate and cookies (small upcharge). The food can be hit or miss depending on what you order. The turkey burger was way better than expected. Nachos weren't great. The staff was amazing. Had the same waiter each time and he was very attentive and friendly. I wouldn't see Avatar here, but it's perfect for families and perfect for less visually stunning movies like comedies, dramas, horror, etc.

Their popcorn is the absolute best in terms of butter content! However, their oven closes early or they run out of it early, so you can’t pizza, fries, etc. if you are a night owl 🦉 They should stock up more on the hot food supplies or add more ovens.

Joseph Young: Rating is for incompetence of manager and running entrance services at this location. Infrequently use this theatre! Will not be returning to watch a movie but will be returning to ensure manager is fired or reprimanded. This unkept, badly tattooed unshaven cartoon character couldn’t run concession lines and had zero communication skills. Threatens customers with police and handcuffs because he is an insecure an incompetent employee. Meanwhile fails to verify actual membership of ignorant people trying to use some ridiculous VIP lane to cut paying customers .🤷‍♂️. I get that AMC has to scrape the bottom of the barrel to find people willing to make 35k a year babysitting minimum wage teenagers serving popcorn but incompetence is incompetence.

Justin Siekman: Easily the best AMC I’ve been to all the theaters have been clean, organized, fully functional and have a friendly staff unlike the Somerville location. I just wish the staff was more keen on kicking out disruptive audience members it really brings down the whole experience when theres a group of 10 kids who kept getting up, fighting about seats, making random noises, taking pictures with the flash on THROUGH THE ENTIRE MOVIE and in the end they were only talked to by the staff and let off with a verbal warning.

At least online purchases.The popcorn is very salty, very, very salty.I regretted buying it.Other than that, great experience in all.

Amanda Ingalla: Went to go see John wick 4 tonight at 8:15.. I ordered my food at 8:05 and didn't receive it til 8:34 causing me to miss some of the movie. The worst part was. That I ordered 2 chicken sandwiches and a curly fries. The sandwiches look nothing like the picture. Small dry piece of chicken with just bread and no lettuce, tomatoes or onion also got over cooked curly fries. Spent $40 on literal trash food and the place is filthy.

Nick M.: Great recliner seating, clean. If you're completely uninterested in concessions it's not bad. If you want snacks they are very slow and hot food takes like twenty minutes.

Lisa Marcum: I usually go to AMC theaters. Went here with my sister last night because it's close to her house. Woburn location. I definitely much prefer the AMC website and was really disappointed with showcase website. Better deals and savings with AMC website and members club also. Theater was good. Clean, nice reclining leather seats. I felt like the screen could have been bigger and sound definitely could have been better in the theater we sat in, #12. Overall I prefer AMC, but this theater was fine for watching a movie. Very comfortable. AMC also has the Gucci seats, and I feel like bigger screens and better sound. But I know each viewing room can have different set ups in each theater among the many rooms they have at each location. So maybe we didn't get the best viewing room at this location?? But it was for opening night of Dungeons and Dragons so I kind of expected better. A little disappointing. It's just an ok theater in my opinion.

By the time I realized the missing wallet it was already 12:30am. Whoever was there retrieved the wallet and waited to give back to me. Since there was no other car in the parking lot he stayed just for me. Thanks!

Laura: I love going to the movies and love the idea of Chunkys but won't be going back here.First complaint... we were at Chunkys today working up at the front there were two girls (young) that kept swearing/saying God's name in vain. Another guy worker said "Girls!! Language... there are kids right here!" One of the girls said "what?? All I said was ...." repeated herself. The guy was mad you could tell & the girls continued to swear disregarding what he had told them. All the parents were really uncomfortable/upset. I felt bad for the guy worker because the bratty workers disregarded what he had told them not to say & kept laughing and saying it over and over loudly.My MAJOR complaint my son went into the bathroom by himself and I were waiting right outside the door for him. There was a man that went in shortly after him. My son came out upset saying there was a creepy guy that was trying to peak in his stall at him. I reported what he looked like immediately. I was told 'Security' was here and they'd relay the message.I also wish they'd redo the seats. They feel really old/dirty. Tons of holes in them. It's been the same chairs for far too long. Foods way too expensive for the food that you get.

Family YouTube: Best movie theater it has lots of drinks and food it has an arcade and even if your allergic to dairy they will give you chicken tenders, fries, popsicle and cookies

Jeffrey Armstrong: Overall terrible experience and under no circumstances will I be returning. On a very hot day (first one of the season. It was over 90) we decided to go catch a 6pm movie. Walked in and noticed right away that the lobby was pretty warm. Walked to the theater and it just got warm as went and it smelled like a nasty motel. Kinda like what yo expect a homeless shelter to smell like. Actual theater was even hotter, at least in the high 80's. Instant sweat.Went and talked to a manager about this. I received what I would consider a snotty response, like it really wasn't a big deal. I was told that they just opened the building for the day about an hour earlier and that it would take a while to cool down.It never did. Hot and sweaty for the entire movie. Food service was spotty. Waited for almost 45 minutes for my drink order after watching others get their drinks in just a few minutes. Had to ask 3 times for my drink. Some of the food was ok. Some was not edible. My son ordered the taco salad with chicken. The chicken was wet and rubbery. Very unappetizing and he didn't eat it.Bottom line: You can't shut you AC off when the building is empty, turn it on only a few minutes before the movie starts with a fairly full attendance, and expect it to cool down. Add in a 90 degree day and you are surely doomed. OK so an error in judgment. But don't give me attitude when I tell a manager about it and lie to me and say the unit is on when it isn't. I heard it come on almost 30 minutes AFTER talking to the manager.The movie and food concept is awesome. The execution is awful.

Jason: Sounded like such a great idea but highly disappointing. The place should be condemned based on the bathrooms alone. We ordered a couple of basic appetizers and drinks for 3 people around 7:45 and maybe half the order came out around 8:20, then a little bit more around 8:40, and the second of two beers came around 9:30 after having to chase someone down to ask. So it took almost two hours for one person to get their first and only drink. Place is woefully understaffed, dirty, and the chairs are uncomfortable. Whoever is managing this place needs to be replaced.*edit to the owner reply* - Did you read this review? It spells out already what you can do better next time. Hire enough help to support the number of theaters you operate, and keep the bathrooms at least sanitary. When only 2/5 toilets are not overflowing with brown water and feminine hygiene products are littered on your floor, it doesn't take much introspection to figure out what to do better. So do it.

Saul Fernandez: Cheap tickets, decent priced food that actually tastes good, the seats are alright but overall this is my new preferred way to watch movies.

Kristi Johnson: The wait for food is ridiculous. Ordered 15 prior to movie starting, food came after 20 (not too bad). Food was cold and we waiting over an hour for my son's ice cream float to delivered after the rest of our food came.

Jamie C: My husband ordered a beer it took 2 hours to get it and we still had to pay for it. The bathrooms were so unsanitary and dirty. The waiter was nice. The veggies on the Adam sampler seemed very old. My salad came wrong at first but then they fixed it and it was decent. The chairs are not very comfortable compared to AMC theaters. Food was OK. Probably won't come back anytime soon. Bathrooms need to be addressed ASAP.
