She has a lot of very big, very heavy furniture, and my house is a warren of small doorways and tight corners. They made it look easy, and took great care of both my new furniture and my antique woodwork. The guys were professional and knew what they were doing. Annabelle Frazier: We hired them to pack and load a trailer for a cross-country move. The contents- mostly fragile and antique furniture, glassware, and similar items, which I had shown and explained to the owner when he came by for a quote. The movers arrived on time and worked fast, and I trusted them to treat our stuff with care, since I was too busy to watch a crew of three while also trying to get things done. This was a bad decision.After they told me they were finished, I pointed out a bunch of things they hadn’t packed or loaded at all. They haphazardly got these items in.They stacked our things to the top of the trailer (at least 10ft high), so I couldn’t quite see what was going on and everything seemed fine. I paid them and they left. Shortly thereafter, the owner called me asking why I didn’t tip his crew. I hadn’t realized this was a thing, and felt pressured to pay the tip- another $200.We only realized there were problems in the packing and loading once our trailer was delivered and we began unpacking- this part, we did ourselves. As we began taking apart the tall stacks of stuff, we found heavy boxes stacked on top of fragile, long-legged antique furniture; boxes clearly marked “fragile” crushed by the weight of others, at the bottom of stacks… Some pieces thrown at the top of stacks. Not a single piece of furniture arrived undamaged, and many other items (art, glassware) were broken either because they were not packed well (just wrapped in paper), or because they were crushed by other boxes or items that were stacked on top of them. Needless to say I’m disappointed.

Heidi Downing: I had a September 1st move and they showed up three hours late, no one called to let me know. The person I originally dealt with, said that I would receive a call 30 minutes before they arrived, no one called, not even to tell me that would show up three hours late. It was originally scheduled for 1pm but they showed up at 4pm. No one called prior to the 4pm arrival. They reaked of cigarette smoke and when I opened the door to let the three movers in, I said "Hello" and they gave no reply. I started to show them the apartment and the main guy told me that I needed to show them everything that needed to be moved and I said, yes, there's a bed, coffee table and AC he kept looking into an area where there was nothing expecting there to be surprise items to be moved. When we left my first apartment one of the movers had removed a screw in the screen door to keep it open, I had to ask him to put it back, if it weren't for a next door neighbor, I wouldn't have known that the mover didn't put the screw back in the screen door.When we got to the second location, one movers' cell phone needed to be recharged, I told them it was no problem to charge it. It was very unprofessional, it would have been one thing if they were friendly but they weren't. When they left, I ended up standing in the street, (while the movers were in the truck) to sign the form, they were holding up traffic and couldn't even bother to get out the truck. They also charged me for three hours but when it only took 1.5 hours to move my things. Even though, there were cheaper than other movers, I would never use them again, the lack of professionalism and rudeness was sky high.

The guys on moving day were extra cautious when moving everything in to not hit or bump the walls and made sure to keep everything clean and damage free. It was pouring rain when we moved off an on and they guys kept a great positive attitude the whole time. They wrapped our fragile things such as mirrors and tvs. We will def be using them again when we move. Thank you again guys.

Kate Bentley: The person whom I spoke with on the phone to schedule was nice, very busy and kept putting me on hold, but was nice enough. The movers who came were over an hour late and I was responsible for finding parking for their truck, twice. The movers were effective and efficient at moving boxes and items to the truck. However, the head mover was unpleasant at every interaction, refusing to move boxes and furniture he deemed “too inconvenient to move”. While all of this isn’t the end of the world, what really happened that got this review, is that screws and bolts to furniture were lost. When called and asked about it, they were very rude and short, insisting that this was MY FAULT. As far as movers go, they got MOST of the job done. Unfortunately, I would never use this business again, as they ended up costing us more money to replace the parts and pay someone to move the boxes and furniture they did not feel like moving.

Kevin Newton: Troy personally came to our apartment to see what we had to move and quoted us on the spot. I was unaware at the time that the quote was for 3 movers, but Troy called me a couple of days before the move and asked if I wanted to add another man to the job for an increased price, saying that it would likely be less expensive in the long run since it would be faster. They arrived on time and were all business. The job was done professionally and quickly on a hot, humid day where most things were being moved up 2 flights of stairs. This would have been a difficult move with only 3 men so I was glad, mostly for their sake, that they had 4 guys on hand. The move ended up costing less than the estimate since they were able to finish sooner. I would definitely recommend Troy's Movers
