They make “mistakes” as far as delivering something to you that you DIDNT ORDER and make you pay for it. Their employees are careless and mess up everything 100% of the time. It’s ALWAYS a mess with them. Overall a terrible business, don’t recommend getting anything from here.

Luke Moore: The sales people are generally rude and there seems to be a rift between the warehouse and front office. I went in multiple times to pick up plywood as a driver for the company I work at and the warehouse workers always seem to have attitudes about the front office. It's not a great look to have your employees bad-mouth each other.

My question was met with grunts, long pauses with no replies, unintelligible mumbles only after “Where you from?” because of an out of state phone number. I gave it the old college try, even after hearing how bad this business is from longtime local friends. My friends and colleagues were right.

Andrea Alarcon: I brought a stain to be matched. I've been calling to get it altered (less shine). The tint department NEVER answers the phone. I get they're busy but I've called MULTIPLE times, on different days. This is the second week I'm calling and still no answer. They also don't return calls from voicemails. Unbelievable. Dan dee Smith: What a bunch of rude, pompous, arrogant sales people. I remember the owner of this company selling hardware out of the back of his car when he started. His business began selling one & two items at a time. Oh how he's forgotten his roots. I run a couple of successful businesses and I understand the economics, I just don't understand how they can disrespect people and not expect backlash. I'm also aware of the fact that small businesses turn into big businesses as did mine. I have been dealing with this company since the mid-80s. I've witnessed their growth and experience firsthand their loss of customer service to absolute terrible customer service. Unless buying a full pallets full of product, be preparepared to beg, be insulted, disrespected, then privileged ,most of all- be thankfull or they may not sell to you again !Personally, I use another company now, Goodfellows in Manchester whenever possible because they appreciate my business. However on occasion I've got to come back to this place and they always live up to my expectations as the worse company I've ever dealt with. Might also say I am a tradesman With a Successful kitchen Cabinet business of 34 years. So I'm not buying one & two items at a time, but I'm not obviously buying enough product for them to treat me with respect. Businesses like this should not be in business in my humble opinion...... Google Goodfellows in Manchester NH, those people do. Other than that they probably have plywood as good as anybody else, so if you don't mind getting treated like a dog, go for it....

greg hunt: Pretty much the best plywood prices around, but they do not do retail sales - you must have an account. And they will probably yell at you if you call with questions and don't have an account. For some reason they put the nicest employees in the warehouse and the grumpiest in sales.

Russell Eldridge: Worst supplier I have ever gone to. I am a licensed general contractor. Just because you are a general contractor doesn’t mean you are an expert in EVERY category of building. Some contractors build commercial skyscrapers, some building residential houses. Some specialize in new construction some......well you get the point.I went there twice in person to inquire about products and it was horrible. First time was about wall systems. I had gotten a commercial job that required using different materials than I use in residential construction. After waiting about 15 min a salesman comes to help and asks what I need. I said “actually I don’t know EXACTLY what I need. Here are the requirements and I was hoping you could point me in the right direction.” You would have thought I just told him his whole family was dead. Staring at me in disbelief. He proceeded to ask me what kind of work I do and if I were a contractor. What does that have to do with anything?The next 5 mins was him explaining that I needed to know EXACTLY what I needed......buddy I DONT KNOW EXACTY WHAT I NEED THATS WHY IM ASKING FOR YOUR HELP. Your a sales man, you sell products. Products that you should be an expert on. When I come in here and give you the requirements for a job you should be able to tell me in your opinion what products will work, what products dont and what you suggest. I will then investigate those products and decide which ones I want. If I tell you I’m gonna sheath my exterior walls with 1/4” gold foil luan then you should say “hey we have this zip system that’s a better idea and it’s cheaper”Bottom line was the guy didn’t know anything other than he hated his job. Didn’t know the products and couldn’t give me a price. I left and bought online.The next time I went in looking specialty plywood for a built in and they told me that I needed to have a salesman come out and see my shop. Ummm I don’t have cabinet shop because that’s not my specialty and I need it today not next month. I just happen to be makig a simple built in that doesn’t require high end cabinetry tools. After arguing them for 10 minutes why contractors need plywood for all types of things other than cabinetry,they wouldn’t sell. I went out into the parking lot, called one of their other locations, opened an account with them, walked back inside and bought the plywood from the same guy who denied me 10 min earlier.I needed the product that day so I had no choice but I would advise anyone to avoid this place at all cost. They don’t know what they’re selling and they don’t give a shit about you.

Aaron Ginsberg: Friendly, helpful, knowledgeable. I'm an intermediate hobby woodworker, they took their time with me even with a pretty small order. I suspect it would be the same even if I only needed one board. Wish I came here years ago. Even as a beginner or new home owner with projects I would not hesitate.

Andrew Dennison: I recently purchased a small order including 2 7' oak boards. The man on the phone was helpful with prices and stock availability. The yard man was incredibly nice and patient, helping me find 2 flawless boards. He passed down 3 boards, from the second balcony for me to look at. After I found a split in one and a small knot in another, he actually apologized for missing the split. I was really impressed. Next, he suggested looking at 14' and cutting it for me, no charge. With his help we found a flawless board, with really nice grain. He also made a number of other cuts to make it easier to fit my softwood boards into my sub-compact car, again no charge. I would not count on that level of service on a busy Saturday, but he really came through for me. The queen size bed I made with this wood came out beautifully and will last for years. Every time I look at it I remember how you guys helped make it happen. Thanks.Home Depot may let you paw through as many boards as you like, but you still would not find the quality I got. In addition the price here was $10 less per board. Chelmsford Lumber is now my first choice.

They delivered with a boom truck which was able to place the shingles on the roof, something which neither Lowes nor Home Depot would do.Outstanding service.

"When they had propane tanks. I bought a brand new one to be filled. They took it. Gave me one that was legally bad. They would not take back. Refused to give me my brand new. Never filed one back. Never did business with them again.

Nelson Ruiz: Great place to get propane. Right now is $15.00 to fill a 20 pounds tank. If you need a new propane tank you can get it here i believe the new tank goes for $30.00 bucks. Gary Hankard: Was disappointed upon entering the Hudson, NH store where non of their employees were wearing masks with the COVID-19 virus going on...As my wife and I entered the store, there was a sign posted for customers to wear masks and the employees were not! There were about five employees stationed at the counter and when they observed my wife and I wearing masks they started discussing wearing masks.One employee commented that he doesn’t wear masks in businesses that request or require them and if they ask him to wear one, he opts to leave? What a great comment to hear when their store main entrance asks Friend Lumber customers to wear a mask.They didn’t have the paint we were looking for, so we went to Lorden’s in Pepperell, MA where THEIR employees were all wearing masks and had the pInt color we were loooking for.I’ll opt to use Lordon’s Lowe’s or Home Depot in the future.

The project was overseen by Jeff and he get us informed and made sure everything was followed through with as discussed.
